Baymont by Wyndham Red Deer

When I drove to the hotel I saw this shabby rundown building and thought it could not be the Hotel. Turns out it was, the building was very run down and the roof was falling apart. Inside all of the staff members were very friendly and helpful, and even though the hotel was rundown it was easy to see they were trying very hard to make it clean and nice to stay at. The inside was not the nicest with lots of dents and very bad water damage in the stairwell, but the pool was very nice. Overall I would probably not recommend staying here but I respect all the work everyone is doing to keep it clean.

Worst experience ever! The heating system was broken, rooms were cold, and the elevator was out of service. The provided heater wasn't working well and nearly caught fire after an hour. The hotel and its occupants are both cheap and noisy.

Just home from another wonderful Christmas family gathering! Thank you to Corey and Om for assisting us with getting it all sorted.

The Baymont accommodates our families very nicely; makes us feel welcome and provides an excellent meal that meets our families' dietary needs.
Plans are to be there again in 2024.

We love the pool and garden area and look forward to seeing all the improvements in that area when refurbishing is complete.

Love staying at this hotel, always great for a night in the city. Reasonably priced, lots of parking and although the hotel is older the rooms are comfortable and upgraded. I love the pool area, it's like an atrium full of trees and smells beautiful

This hotel is the old Red Deer Lodge. Stayed one night (was enough) in October 2023. Place is so outdated, dirty, no screen on window, broken toilet lid, rug filthy, found a maple bug in our room, no extra toilet paper, beds were ok, fridge door slanted. Hot tub jets didn’t work and murky water. Free breakfast was horrible, I drank my oatmeal. If you don’t book through hotel you get the worst room. We told Corey next morning at front desk if all our issues, he didn’t care!
Jayden or Jaylin who worked the front desk was so kind, friendly and helpful to use. She was the best!

If I could give 0 I would! We get to the hotel the First Lady at the front desk totally ignores me then the manager comes in and check us in. We get in the room, horrible smell I had to let the patio door open. About 30 min later we flush 1 single square of toilet paper & the toilets start to over flow and water gets all over the room, all our belongings are now wet we call the lobby to let them know to come quick. Takes about 10 min now the room is full of water all the way to the second bed. When we asked for refund since we don’t want to stay at this hotel anymore the manager himself didn’t wanted to give our money back even tho this isn’t our fault. We proceeded to let him know that all of our clothes are wet and we need to go back home to get new clothes and don’t want to stay there since he was rude with us and didn’t even apologize only said « things happens ». We managed to get our money back but the manager was screaming at us like if it was our fault. Never going there again and would definitely not recommend. The picture is only at the beginning there was about twice more water when we left the room.

I was here for my office conference. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. I would definitely come back. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will recommend to my family & friends for sure.

Super friendly staff, pool area is beautiful, housekeeping available on request and completed in a very timely manner. Great breakfast buffet. Location is great and can get wherever in the city in a matter of minutes. We stayed for 5 nights and it felt like a home away from home.

Great stay and value for the location. Rooms were well-maintained. Washrooms were small but serviceable, and the included breakfast is decent. Manager was awesome and accommodating and we would like to stay again.

This was by far the worst hotel we've ever stayed in! It was absolutely filthy! I think people were living in this hotel. Garbage bags all up and down all the hallways? The room was very dirty, the bathroom vanity was poorly cleaned, sink taps not wiped down, the back of the toilet was dirty, one of the queen beds had dirty marks on the spread. Riding the elevator was very dirty, sticky hand prints on everything and appeared little cleaning was ever done. The rooms walls were dirty and need a good washing or paint job. Front doors very dirty, and it appeared little to no vacuuming was ever done. All carpets at front entry were dirty, stained, not cleaned nor vacuumed. This hotel included a free breakfast that we didn't take advantage of due to the concern for unclean & unsanitary conditions of the entire hotel. We would never have stayed except I booked through another travel agency and couldn't get a refund. Don't stay here. It's cheap, but dirty!

While right now the outside looks kinda sketchy, the inside is beautiful and well kept. Since my last visit this summer the inside has been becoming even better. The atrium seating is now fixed and clean and the pool has had many maintenance issues fixed. Spent 2 weeks here and enjoyed the entire stay

The hotel is falling apart and the hot tub is just a hot pool. It has no seats in it and the jets are broken. Rooms were either too hot or too cold. The carpets are coming up in place and the elevator is way too small for the cart to bring with you.

Its a good hotel! Booked 3 days here for work. Staff is super friendly and very helpful when you need something. Breakfast is good and the area is well maintained and cleaned frequently. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy! I mean what do you need else unless your a little princess.or your name is Karen ;). There a nice little garden area with a pool to enjoy some evening talks and a swim.

Caught stranded in Red Deer this chilly time of year, and had the pleasure of walking into this lovely hotel. Jaiden was delightful and super accommodating right from checking me in, and Shannon shared her Christmas cheer to help me feel a little less lonely.

When I entered the hotel: Baymont Inn Red Deer. I was extremely surprised on how beautiful it was. The lobby was decorated so nicely it was December early in the month, and they already had their tree up all ready for Christmas.it was nice to see and was very warming, comforting felt like home. After coming inside from a very cold outside. Next I was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Eric who is more than friendly he was super helpful polite and extremely personable. He had amazing customer service skills that were above and beyond my expectations of a hotel concierge and in a hotel setting. I don't get the wrong idea this gentleman was an actual gentleman he was very sweet and had a way of really connecting with the patrons.he went above and beyond his regular job duties in order to improve and make sure that my stay would be the best experience I could have and made sure that all my needs were met. He was very informative let me know everything about the hotel in a very timely orderly fashion that it was extremely enlightening.
Eric's has a personality that seemed to radiate positive with a friendly outgoing personable nature.you can tell he is a person who really enjoyed his job and working there at the baymont. I'm sure the rest of the staff is really friendly there was a girl who helped me get a new room key in the morning but I don't remember what her name. She was naturally beautiful she had darker hair a bit darker skin and she was also very polite and very nice. When I had checked in I had taken a walk to my room and had noticed that a beautiful hallways overlooking the pool at this point you know what you had to do when you found out that your room didn't face that way. I walk down to the front desk and ask Eric nicely how much more money it would be in order for me to have one of those nice rooms that overlooked that beautiful pool. He made a super quick easy for me he made it super easy for me and in a jiffy I had theb room overlooking the pool!

The courtyard is absolutely amazing it's Serene and quiet even in the daytime when there's kids playing the dark almost rain forest like atmosphere s quite captivating The hot tub is attached to the pool which I thought was really interesting. Breakfast was included which was even better and it wasn't one of those breakfast you get at a Holiday Inn it was an actual buffet that was well made real food. I can't wait to bring my daughter here so she can enjoy the pool and the look of the place I'm sure it will be a time for her to remember I think it's a great place for just a weekend vacation get away for your family or a couple you'll spend the whole day by the pool I promise and you'll enjoy the people who work there. I recommend this place 110% and I hope you all love it as much as I did.

Shannon was beyond patient with my unexpected situation. She made me feel welcome and wasn't rude nor did I feel judged. I feel she did everything she could, including giving me opportunity and space to figure out a solution. She also helped me get a free bag of Doritos so, you know,

The room was clean and staff was super friendly! Was greeted by a really nice lady, Jaiden at front desk and they had all that I needed for the 1 night i stayed. Unfortunately i was in a split room and the guests next to me were pretty disrespectful being really loud (and I’m not one to typically complain about these things) I reported it to front desk and the gentleman working was very professional about it and must’ve handled it as I didn’t hear them for the rest of the night. It’s not the hotel’s fault, just happy they were courteous of stepping in!:) wish I could give credit by name, I stayed the night of Oct 12 if that helps!

This hotel is fine for short term stays. There’s a pool, a gym, complimentary daily hot breakfast, and a cute inner courtyard. The staff are friendly and were very accommodating and understanding.

However, the place is old and rundown. The first room I had the AC didn’t work and it was unpleasantly hot. I couldn’t open the window either because the screen was broken. The room I was moved to was better. On my third day, the maintenance guy came into the gym after me and told me the AC is broken and offered to open the door to the courtyard to help cool the room down.

Honestly only giving this hotel a 2 star review because of the staff and the manager. If it wasn’t for them, it definitely would’ve been a significantly worse experience.

Came.here for a night with our family and for almost $200/night I was expecting more of a comfortable stay. Instead we got a small room with 2 double beds, the room smelled like a musky old smell. Capet in the room is so disgusting that I wore socks. We moved the bed to get a extra cot in the room and found garbage under the bed. Feeling very uncomfortable and would leave only for already paying for the room and not wanting to loose my $200.
Definitely our last stay here.

Good staff. But. Big but. $285 you can get a nice hotel for that price. Really rundown place. Bed are comfy but the room is dated and just feels old and not very relaxing.

The AC was broke in our room and it was 92f outside, instead of moving us to a room with working ac they brought us a fan, seriously? The tub in bathroom was unusable due to a plugged drain. The whole place is rundown and dirty. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig. We were told there would be no compensation at checkout for all the inconveniences because we booked using booking.com which was a total cop out on the hotels part.

Very dirty, the bathrooms were covered in hair and the toilet seat was broken. The bottom of the bathtub was black, the bed was like a hammock and the bed was so poorly made it looked like there was a dead body in it. The side table was sticky and the ice machine sounded like a freight train coming down the track and it was outside of our room. We paid over $200 to have the worst hotel experience of our lives.

The staff was rude, short-tempered and unwilling to honour our agreement. My sister and her husband and I booked our room at the Baymon hotel on the price line and paid a taxi to bring all three of us to the hotel only to learn that after paying our cabbie $70 some odd dollars that this hotel would not honour price lines prices and expected us to pay almost an additional $100. Subsequently, after several hours of back and forth between us, the hotel & price line, Baymont informed Price line they no longer wanted to "deal" with us and they cancelled our reservation. They acted like we did something wrong when they were the ones not honouring their end of the bargain. I lost a whole afternoon only for my reservation to be cancelled like my business wasn't worth the time. Very poor ethical mannerisms/& what I did see of thr hotel, (the parking lot) was extremely old, worn down, with big potholes. It was probably poured when it was made and has never been touched or maintained since. Will never book there again. Worst hotel ever!

It wasn't good, an old hotel that needs to be renovated. At least clean the rooms thoroughly, make warm food and more variety of food!

Staff was super friendly! But the room wasn't very clean, found blonde & black hairs, garbage on the armchair & a counter wasn't wiped. Also the elevator was very gross and you could see all the finger prints.

Got to our room and the lock was broken. It appears to have been tampered with previously. Didn't need a key card to get into the room. Maintenance came to look at it and couldn't properly fix it because it would cause a disturbance. With temperatures being above 30 degrees I was looking forward to an air conditioned room, AC was not working and couldn't be looked at without causing a disturbance to others. Room wasn't cleaned properly and when notified nothing could be done. Pool closes at 10 pm and when you check in and can't leave your room due to all the issues and you can't meet the deadline nothing can be done. At least they cared about not causing a disturbance to anyone else because nothing can be done but put a couple of notes on my account and maybe the manager will do something. Manager may or may not be in the next day when I check out and definitely won't be when I check out around 7am. Pool doesn't open until 8: 30am they don't post these times. The staff I did encounter were nice, however they can't do much to help any situation I've encountered.
I wouldn't recommend staying here. Pictures do not resemble the room I'm in.

Don't eat the breakfast if you want to live. Overall the place seems like it's not well maintained. Bed was comfortable though. Kids did enjoy the pool, as did I.

The staff was great, very Friendly and helpful. But the quality of the hotel was not what I was expecting for $200 a night.the room that was advertised to us was not the room we had received. There was broken furniture, a random stove vent, dirty sheets, and carpet coming up. The bathroom had many unwiped areas, the sink and surrounding areas looked to have had dried toothpaste spit on it everywhere. And underneath the sink where you place you're bathroom belongings was dirty. Flys and other bugs in the window bay.

Front desk staff is very friendly! We called and asked if we could do an early check-in in they said no problem and when we got here we found out they had rooms with bunk beds for the kids and right outside the pool and they let us upgrade. Rooms are clean and pool is great!

This was a disaster from the start. We checked in at the same time as a baseball team, they were very polite but there was only 1 guest service registration person so timing was not good.
Then the room.we knew the Cable box was broken so no TV, in retrospect we shouldn't have booked. Then upon checking in the room, there were ants and our friends 2 doors down had spiders. The smoke detector went off while I was in the shower. The AC unit rattled so every time it started in the night, I woke up. And the room was just tired. They need serious updating.
Finally breakfast. The hotel was sold out and they had at least one team of teen boys. How do you not prepare in advance knowing the breakfast area is going to be very busy? In the short time we waited, everyone was standing around waiting for food because everything was empty, another disappointment to add to the list.
The current status of the hotel needs some serious care and attention. No one seemed to have the ability to make changes for the better even though the staff was pleasant. They seemed to lack the resources to make change. I don't think I'm returning. Better facilities and service can be found at many of the discount hotel chains, so that's where I'll go next time. A sincere disappointment!

I am pretty disappointed with this hotel. The pool area has mixed matched old office chairs, its cluttered, theres left over mcdonalds garbage. The seats in the lounge garden are all torn and need replacing. The carpet needs a good vacuum. The rooms are so small, the bathroom door almost opens into the toilet. The rooms dont look very clean or they are extremely outdated and desperately need an upgrade. For how outrageous the price is i could have picked any better 4star hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Promised to rebook cancellation due to COVID, manager Cory told us that the credit would be extended if necessary. Now they refuse to honor the credit. They basically just stole my money. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone I know.

Friendly, professional staff. Older hotel, but the poolside rooms are so convenient and fun for a stay and play. We had some concerns about the room cleaning and the pool often running out of towels, but overall we enjoyed our stay.

The overnight stay at the Baymont in Red Deer was exceptional. All staff, Anna (c/i), Bobbi Jo (evening), Darsh (c/o) and the manager Corey were professional, friendly and went out of their way to provide excellent service. Corey was particulary helpful in printing directions to Sylvan Lake. Thanks for the late checkout.

Breakfast was okay. The items provided were not bad but juice was watery and coffee cool. Staff was good though.

They got the wrong checkout date and used the wrong credit card for the booking. Place was otherwise ok.

Nice pool and hottub but place is in dire need of cleaning service we walked into room and a 66 was on floor empty, dark and hot breakfast don't weigh up to other their 2 hotels a their 1 at best

Clean, inexpensive, pool was open by appointment, and the staff went above and beyond with me having an injury and needing a wheelchair

This hotel has transfered ownership a couple ofn ears ago and since that, has gone downhill. It used to have the best buffet and host many events in their banquet rooms, but now they're turning a portion of the hotel unit housing, which is ridiculous, in my opinion. It's conveniently located downtown with ample parking. It's parking lot is often used for events in the downtown area. It's a pillar of the city of Red Deer but I fear it's image and reputation has gone downhill since the new owners took over.

I lost my credit card earlier this week, and this hotel refused to let me check in without s credit card unless I physically had it with me. My spouse was unable to provide one on my behalf over the phone.

The front desk staff had zero empathy.

Another Wyndham property in Airdrie was much more flexible and accommodating.

This location is also derelict and run down. Stay somewhere else.

Great late lunch. Service was excellent. I had a roast beef meal, which was scrumptious. Our waiter was very professional

I was looking for a meeting place as well as to celebrate Christmas and new year for my staff. I found Baymont Inn and Suites in Red deer of course recommended by my friends too as the best place. So i tried this place. Folks very reasonable charges, exceptional service, great food and no gimmicks. My staff was very much pleased for selecting this facility.

Friendly sevice with horrible food. Staff has no idea of content nor how to properly cook eggs. Sausages are partially cooked and bacon is extra crispy prior to being put into sternos servers.

Staff was awesome at check-in. Saw my note about room placement and it was looked after. No carts available so a very friendly staff member helped me to my room with luggage as my hubby parked. The pillows are very high and I woke with a sore neck. Room was big, clean and comfy. Breakfast was ok. Many kids there for a tourney. Drunk guys loudly wandering hallways at 3am.

Stayed for 2 nights. First one purchased through Expedia and got stuck on 6th floor in an outdated and very cold room. Everything worked but seriously, it was so outdated. Second night, we booked at the desk and got a lovely, renovated room, was very comfortable. Breakfast is ok, works for kids who have to eat and run to practice. Multiple food options nearby, way cheaper than hotel's $28 dollar meals.

Friendly staff at check in, good food in restaurant, wasnt waiting long and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend and i will return again
