Beaners Fun Cuts for Kids

I wish I could give them less than 1 star. Extremely poor customer service and lack of empathy. I had an appointment today at 9 am for my daughter’s birthday. I had booked a birthday package, a child’s hair cut for my son, and a men’s hair cut for my husband. Today was the cold snap of -30s and we were running late between the road conditions and a fussy baby. I called them early in the morning to let them know and it was received very poorly. They couldn’t find some of the appointments. They refused to take anyone because we were too late. It was 8 min. And had no consideration for the winter conditions or my fussy baby. As we were leaving one stylist said she had time after all. Then proceeded to ask me if I wanted a wash included. It’s part of the birthday package. We left. I have an extremely disappointed 4 year old on her birthday. Would never even think of giving them any business. Shame on you.

We come in from Cochrane everytime our child needs a cut because they are always so patient and skilled at getting the job done despite whatever difficulties the child presents! Plus they have a little ball pit and that's super fun too haha We will be coming here for all cuts as long as we are able!

I’ve brought my son about 5-6 times in the past couple years. Anna C did a great job on him yesterday. However, when I was holding my one year old near the ball pit who by the way behaved very well and stayed next to me) a stylist wearing a mask with red dyed hair brushed past me saying” I need to get by here” maybe she was in a bad mood or I was in her way. I felt it was quite cold of her. She seems to be quite experienced but she wasn’t even with a client at that time. I was trying to stay out of the way and sat on the stairs, but I also wanted to stay near my 3 year old.

We love seeing Krystal! We've been seeing her for years and she is so good with my kids. Definitely book her!

This place is great for kids. I took my son for his first hair cut when he was little closer to one year. Elmirah is one of the best professional and took care of my son. She’s sweet, super quick and always provide a good haircut just like we want it. Highly recommend this shop as it become my go to place for my son since that.

Had an appointment and I got late, I understand it's not nice to be late, but when I enter the staff (her name was Claudia) I had the appointment immediately look the clock and even did not say hi, and look rudely, didn't even let me appologies for my lateness. I understand my fault, but that doesn't mean to be rude, just could say we can " take you anymore" without being offensive.

Joanna is excellent with small kids. My daughter was very nervous as it was her first cut. Joanna made sure to get on her level and let her know what she was doing every step of the way. The sparkles and the lollipop were the cherry on top. I really appreciate that the stylists wear masks. We will be back:)

You’re child is in for a great haircut if you come here! However, do plan in advance as you will likely need to book your spot 1-2 days prior to when you’d like to come - same day is hard to come by.

Very disappointed and poor costumer service today I almost cry and was exhausted in front of the receptionist she was very rude. We had appointment at 4: 40pm. We are late for 6 minutes because my son throw up two times while we are on the way to the salon he was not sick and I had also my 4 months old baby crying in the car. I was very worried of my son but we continue to the salon as we are very near and this was our 2nd rebooking. We arrived to the salon and I cleaned up my son quickly, the receptionist never says hi or smile or even asking if my son is okay? She even told me, if you changed his clothes I will rebook him for the next appointment, I did not expect what she told me. SHE WAS HEARTLESS! The only good thing the stylist Kristel was very kind to us and she still accept to do the haircut for my son. I was very emotional that time and my son was crying, it was his not the first time for the haircut at beaners, the first time he had was awesome and he did not cry. We will not comeback and I will not recommend again Beaners Northland.

We got my son’s very first haircut done here and it was great! They were super fast (my little guy was not enjoying himself lol) and gave us a cute little certificate with a lock of his hair. We will definitely be back next time he needs a haircut!

Rachelle did a great job. She made sure my little one is comfortable and was extremely patient and caring. Would recommend it to a friend.

Consider renaming to something that is not a derogatory slur for people of Mexican or Mexican American descent.

Joanna H was amazing with our 2 year old! He’s not a fan of haircuts (to say the least), but she did her best to be quick, put him at ease, and continue with the cut even when he wasn’t pumped on it. She checked that I was okay with her continuing when he was upset, which I appreciated! Despite the unwilling participant, the haircut is super cute. Joanna is great at what she does and we will definitely go back next time our son needs a cut!

I always get my kids haircut here. I have to thank Johanna and Anna for always being patient with my kids and they never disappointed me

Awesome place for kids haircut. My kid is a bit cranky during haircuts and never likes it. However, when we went to beaners, he liked the car shaped sheet and was engrossed in his pretend n play. He forgot about the haircut, which made the experience great. The staff is also professional and gave a good haircut n style.

Claudia is fantastic! My two year old hates getting his haircut and always gives us such a hard time. Every haircut he’s had in the past is your basic bowl cut cause he doesn’t sit still. Claudia managed to line his hair up and give him a proper boys cut. Thank you!

Elmira actually knows how to cut and style curly and coily hair! Even though I'm now an adult, I still get my hair cut here. Great for kids and adults.

Horrible experience
We had an appointment at 1700, we knew that we will be late 10 minutes because of construction, so we called beforehand.
We were told that if we can come by 1710, they will take us. We reached there at 1711, (only 1 minute late) and were informed that they won’t take us as we are 1 minute late.
Someone coming all the way from NE to your location, staff should have some courtesy, she was very rude.

Took two kids to this location for a haircut. Of course our two year old spotted the little toys they have in their waiting area right away. He was holding a dinosaur and looking to choose where to sit. Skye was his hairdresser. We had never been to this place before so we asked if he could have the girls package and the boys package. Skye said she didn’t have time to do the boys package. She was rude and everything she said was snide and unkind. She was annoyed our son was holding the dinosaur and asked if we were buying it. We said we will see how it goes and because we didn’t commit to buying it she immediately took it away from him which being two upset him. Once he became upset he wanted to switch cars. He’s two. She was annoyed that we wanted a Caesar cut. Annoyed that we was upset about the dinosaur. We were standing behind him where he could see us with a baby in a carrier trying to stay out of the way. “Move your baby”. “ I don’t have time for him to change cars “ “clippers are for older kids”. It was very clear she was annoyed by our child being 2. Not ideal for a place that specializes in children’s hair. After all was said and done she sprayed some green in his hair and was in such a rush she only did one side of his head. Then she proceeded to go stand and chat with another stylist at the front. She was still standing there chatting when our other older child with longer hair wrapped up and we paid. Seemed stranger since she stated she didn’t time. We paid and tipped and she made it clear she was underwhelmed with our tip “agh” and a face. It was awful. We tipped %20 despite how awful she treated our son because both kids were on the same tab. She’s lucky we didn’t request to pay separately and tip according to her service. Once we got to the car I looked at the bill and sure enough we were charged for the package she said no to. We paid for services we didn’t get and received terrible customer service. I will not be returning.

My son’s first haircut was done here in 2019 and we had had a lovely experience. Recently we booked haircut appointments for my 3 year old son with Joanna and Skye and both times had a great experience!

I’ve been taking my kids to Beaners for years. My 3 year old Son looks forward to getting his haircuts monthly with Joanna. She is always so friendly and great with kids. Especially if it’s their first time. She knows how to make them feel comfortable. All the staff is always super friendly.

Went to the Northland location to get my 4 yrs old a haircut, I had my 2 years old with me she wanted to go on the other vehicle so badly (the vehicle was on the other hairdresser section) and I tried to stop her cause of corona and not spread germs but my 2 years old insisted she wants to go on the car everytime I take her off she runs back to the car. Both hairdressers there kept asking me to move her in a rude way, they kinda got upset about it and they said "oh we have to clean after every customer" multiple times and they would come and say "okay listen you have to move her! " or "this is not my section you have to get her off now we have different sections here for each hairdresser". I felt so stressed out and anxious didn't even relax after a long drive I tried to tell my daughter to get off and explain to her why she shouldn't sit on this amazing car toy she sees for the first time but SHE IS TWO I really didn't want to make my sweetheart cry so I had to lift my 35lbs toddler for the next 10-15 min. Just so she doesn't run back to the car and so they don't have to wipe the wheel and chair (which takes a Second!) and instead on focusing to cut my sons hair nicely he ended up with a horrible hair cut. And the hairdresser blamed it on his wavy hair! It looks like I gave him the hair cut at home: (

Johanna is so great with my kids! Their hair always looks great and they enjoy the process because she makes it fun. After 3 visits, my young son (18m) walks right in, chooses a seat and sits well for a cut. This is because Johanna explains every step to him to ensure he's comfortable and knows he's safe. It's so rare (but so important) to find that kind of respect for little ones. I'll continue driving across the city to see her. She's worth it.

My 4yo son cried the whole time like always but the stylist Skye was very professional and knew how to deal with kid on autism spectrum. Its gonna be go to for my kids haircut now! Thanks I'm grateful for a good haircut after what seems like ages!

Albana cut my son's hair and she was fantastic. Was so gentle and kind and made sure he was comfortable. The haircut itself was so adorable! So peacock hairs sticking up the next day. I will definitely be going back.

I took my kids here for first time and experience was good. Joanna was easy with my kids. Will definitely take them there again.

Had a horrible experience today morning, while haircut was good, the receptionist was super rude with no basic manners, the moment we entered she warned us rudely of being delayed by 6 mins and said she will not take it in future and rudeness continued at checkout time. I gave her an option of cancelling my appointment if she was so hard pressed for time. Left feeling unwelcomed and unhappy.

Today our daughter had her first haircut! Claudia did a quick and beautiful job! We will return.

We just went for our first haircut at Beaners Northland, for my 2-year-old son. We ended up seeing Elmira and she was amazing! My son is non-verbal and she was so good and patient and quick to get the cut done. We will definitely be returning!

My autistic son is hesitant every time we show up at the Northland location, but the stylists throw on a movie and are very patient with him. By the time his hair is cut I can't get him to leave! And his hair always looks great.

Skye was awesome with my little girl. My 4 year old has long hair and Skye was so wonderful with her! We will be booking back in with Skye next time for sure!

My son had his first haircut last weekend. He was a bit scared. But we had an amazing experience with Sarah. I highly recommend this place.

Worst service. I am never bringing my son here for a haircut again. I typically go to the location in country hills, the staff is amazing and co-operative. The staff at Northland are rude and unprofessional. My son's haircut was terrible. Had to take him to somewhere else to fix

Got my son's haircut after attempting many hair cuts at home. There were great distractions for him and they did a great job. Would definitely recommed and glad I took him in today.

My son loves the opportunity to 'drive-in one of the many ATVs or other vehicles. I love the stylists quick work and gentle approach. My son has a double-crown so his hair is quite challenging. They handle it all.

I booked an appointment for my daughter and got childcare for my other children. However when I got there, they had no record of her appointment. We went through my phone to confirm I had booked at the correct location (by looking through recent calls), and I had booked the correct location. The manager offered a complimentary hair cut, which was appreciated, as it had been their mistake. I took my daughter for a haircut and it was a very mediocre hair cut for my daughter. It’s very in and out, the stylist seemed like she was rushing.my daughter had some waves from taking out a braid and they did not even hardly wet her hair down before cutting it. She has thin hair so the trim was very basic, and yet it is still quite uneven at the back. The whole haircut took less than 5 minutes. I plan to take her to my stylist next time as she makes children feel so special, and curls their hair and gives child and parent a positive experience. I would not recommend beaners and will not be returning.

Elmira is our favorite hair stylist for our kids for the past 7 years. We absolutely love her and Beaners Funcut.

I took my son here for his first haircut and it was a wonderful place to bring him for his initial experience. (He loves haircuts now!) The staff is kind, the kids’ seats are fun and the price is reasonable.

Took my son in for his first haircut just before his first birthday. They were really great dealing with easily distracted baby, she was even able to use the clippers. He looks so handsome. Thank you Claudia, we will be back!

The stylists were great at distracting a scared 1 year old and still managed to make his hair look good!

Unfortunately we did not have the greatest experience bringing our son in to get his hair cut. Everyone was nice enough and the place is certainly kid friendly. Our sons hair was cut quit a bit shorter then we requested and his neck line was shaved on an angle of almost a half inch difference from one side to the other. We will continue bringing our kids to the barbershop I get my hair done at a cheaper cost.

Thank you Sarah for fixing my attempt at cutting my daughters hair! She did such a wonderful job and so incredibly patient with my screaming daughter who basically screamed the whole time. First hair cut ever and she was not a happy camper. I would definitely come back. Very friendly staff and great with little ones:)

The hairstylist was very patient and let us hang out for more than an hour until my 2 year old would let them cut his hair!

I think this is a great salon to bring children to. My kids love our stylist, Skye! She's really patient and always gives them a super cute cut!
