I have taken my 1.5 year old son here twice in the last 6 months for his hair cut, and both times have been absolutely amazing. Agnes gave my son his first hair cut in July, and she was absolutely amazing! And just a few weeks ago, Christina M. Cut his hair, and again it turned out amazing! Absolutely no tears! Except maybe from me during his first cut lol
Took my 3 year old son for his first hair style. The staff is very friendly and well trained to do their job. Very unique setup for kids and a nice play area. 100% recommended.
I brought my daughter here for her first haircut 4 years ago. All the stylists are wonderful but by the 3rd visit my girl connected with one stylist in particular, Aliya, and has refused to see anyone else since. These two have such a special bond and now it is essential we make a trip to the salon on any and all big days so she can see her lady. I am so thankful for everything Aliya does and has done and my daughter especially loves how amazing she feels every time she leaves. We saw her on our 5th birthday this year and just had to share the special moment.
Aliya was great with 21 month old, I was really worried being my daughter’s first ever haircut! But Aliya made sure my daughter was at ease, she was constantly interacting with my daughter so that she is calm and not irritated at all! For my toddlers first haircut best service was received. Thank you so much!
Aliya, is absolutely amazing. My daughter ended up with a huge knot in her hair that I tried to comb it out for hours. Aliya agreed to help us and I can't thank her enough. She was so kind to my daughter and did an amazing job. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Aliya was honestly a god send. Sweet, patient, and incredibly helpful and informative. Our daughter is autistic and we had very low expectations going in, but Aliya made it such a wonderful experience. If your child is on the spectrum I fully recommend that you get in to see Aliya. She will take her time to build trust, and is incredibly accommodating to your child’s needs. Our daughter loved her haircut and was very happy. We’re very thankful, and plan on coming back in the future!
Aliya is amazing! She is soooo great with my 2 year old son and I’m happy to say that for the first time ever, he didn’t cry! She really got him involved and even had his sister help out to make him feel more comfortable. After we paid she offered to put sparkles/glitter gel in my daughters hair, since she did such a great job helping. She was thrilled! Highly recommend Aliya!
I have been doing my son's haircut since his birth. He is 3.5 and this was the first time getting his hair done professionally. We had an amazing experience with Aliya Shamji. We didn't have any particular hairstyle in mind so she asked us to trust her. From the haircut to ensuring my son was comfortable, I am so happy we trusted her.
On our ride back, my son said 'the barber was so fun! '
Horrible experience at calgary trail edmonton.i took my baby for hair cut.lady over there did her job early quick. Even my daughter still has uneven hair. She even dont know how to deal if baby start crying during hair cut.she just did hair cut in 2min and move to next client without even propery clean my baby's face or neck full of hair. Very disappointes. Better go to other location.
I took my child there recently, for their third haircut at this location. They did NOT like the process of getting their hair cut on this occasion. However, Nimira (the hairdresser) was nonetheless so professional, and did her very best to make the process as enjoyable as possible for all of us. Nimira ultimately did an excellent job cutting my child's hair, notwithstanding their adamant opposition to getting their hair cut at all (much screaming, crying, etc.). Anyone who has tried to get a child to do anything, while they are screaming and crying, will understand how impressive this is.
In short, if you are looking for a place to take your child to get their hair cut, I cannot recommend this place enough. I especially recommend Nimira, particularly for younger children who may be scared about their first (or third) haircuts.
Went there for my son's hair cut. At starting it was going good, later when i showed her some of my son's hair was off so just needed a little trim, instead triming worker tells me it looks like that due to my sons head and started showing me a portfolio of some kind with other arguments and not even trying to understand what I am asking of her. After arguments, as I just needed her to trim little bit instead she went and took whole side off. Its frustrating when someone doesn’t listen and make simple situations worst. Just to point out there, a parent knows what looks good on their kid, you don't need to tell us.
My 2 yr old son had his first haircut and it was flawless. He didn't cry at all even though he is a cry baby. Alona T was the hair stylist and I would go always go to her again for my son's hair cut.
Honestly amazing experience the staff dealt with my sons pickyness of where he wanted to sit and very affordable as well had to bribe my kid to leave the salon.
Had my grandson's hair styled. He was content to ride an ATV while his hair was cut. Nor to much wriggling. Stylist Aliyas was excellent and kept an almost six year old engaged the whole time.
My 4 years old son and I love Beaners for his cuts. We have transitioned from a scared boy a few years ago to a happy and brave little man, thanks in large part to the patient and fantastic staff. Aliya S is our go-to stylist and she is absolutely amazing! We highly recommend her! She is wonderful with my little guy, makes him feel comfortable and makes him laugh during a cut, and he always ends up looking impeccable and dapper! Thanks Aliya!
Aliya at South Park is the best! She is friendly and meticulous in her work. I bring my 3 kids to see her, one with special needs, and she is so kind and patient with them. I highly recommend!
I love taking my son who is a toddler, to see Aliyah for a haircut. He loves to see her because she is so kind and gentle with him. She also will make sure you love it before you leave. Definitely recommend!
I can’t recommend this place enough to anyone who has nervous hair cutters. And I’ll be sending anyone to Aliya. My kid looks amazing and she was so patient with him. Please send them your business!
Make sure they deliver what they offer. For a toddler with sensory issues, having an advace appointment with this fact stated, the hairdresser snapped aggressively at the kid while he was trying to latch at some safe harbour to avoid the "drill". Yes that is what it feels for him. We were so shocked and saddened at this and were leaving immediately when two soulful professionals stepped in and apologized, offering their services. Nimriti, I believe, is the kind hairdresser who handled it finally with compassion and care. If you are going there, I recommend you enquire about the hairdresser who can handle your kid and then proceed with experience.
It's a great place place for babys to have the coolest hair cut. The stuff Probubly named Nirima was really affectionate to my child when cutting the hair to make my baby more comfortable. I really want to put 5 stars but only for 1 staff behavior which I notiched with a kid was really inappropriate and rude. Kids are sometimes being sensetive while cutting hair, we the adults should be a bit understanding but the way she behaved, the kid became more scared. Other than that all staff and everything was good.
The haircut and clipper art was fine and fairly priced (and we would return), but this place is so outdated. They could use some sprucing up and updated salon chairs.
My son loves to get his haircut at Beaners. Nimira gave him a really cool haircut. He gets a bit nervous with the trimmer but she was calming him down, distracting him in several ways and got the work done perfectly. I would highly recommend her for your kids haircut. Really sweet lady! I think I am going to take my younger one to her as well for his next haircut.
After her initial trim was finished, I suggested layers for my daughter. My daughter said she did not want layers. She said no as soon as the first cut was made but the person tried to keep going and add more layers. I spoke up and said, she said she doesn't want them. " The person said "I'm not going to stop" and just tried to keep cutting. I had to put my hands around my daughter's hair to get the person to stop. My daughter started crying and was obviously scared. This person needs more training on respecting children's personal boundaries. Having an even haircut is not as important as making a child feel safe and have agency over their own body. My daughter never wants to come back to this salon and neither do I. Now we have warned you- never come to this place.
Aliya did a really great job cutting my 1yo son’s hair. She was gentle and quick. There were some tears but she kept soothing my little guy. We appreciated her service! Will definitely be requesting her again next time
Had my baby’s haircut and the lady was not gentle with the baby…came home and saw a small cut at her neck.plus she said we were her last appointment and she was in so much hurry.
My little dude was very uncooperative through his whole first haircut but the lady who cut his hair did a fantastic job regardless of all his fighting and moving. We couldn't be happier with his new cut he looks adorable.
Amazing experience! It was our sons first haircut, he's nearly 3, and Sheri did such a good job! She did exactly what we wanted and was so good and patient with our son. Very good price too! Definitely recommend, our son didn't want to leave!
Beaners on Calgary Trail was fantastic! This was my little girls first hair cut and she was really hesitant. But Zafreen was amazing with her, it was a super fast hair cut and looks so cute on her! Thank you! We’ll be back!
Had an amazing experience today with my 2 year old. My son hates hair cuts and definitely caused a scene but the hair dresser was amazung and took care of us properly! Would highly recommend
I have been taking my three kids to Nadi at Beaners South Park location in Edmonton for years. My kids all have cowlicks that are hard for most hair dressers to cut properly, but Nadi makes it look easy to work with their cowlicks! She is able to look at a picture of a requested haircut and then perform it effortlessly for my kids. My daughter has very thick hair that makes it difficult for most hairdressers to cut evenly, but Nadi has no difficulty cutting it properly and texturizing it. Even though there are other locations closer to my place, I choose to make the 35 minute drive for Nadi to cut my kids' hair. If you're looking for a place that consistently gives high quality haircuts to your kids, then give Nadi at Beaners South Park a try!
Nice workers, my son left with a good haircut although it put me off that they were not following health guidelines and letting entire families sit inside without having santized or requiring them to wear masks. The safety and health of customers who are choosing to follow guidelines should be of importance to the business. (I watched customers walk on and leave without receiving services which I can only assume is because of this)
Nadi was absolutely fantastic with my son. She was patient and gentle dealing with a child with special needs. We will definitely be back to see her again
Amazing. The receptionist jumped into assist our son's first haircut offering a welcome distraction when our little guy started to get fed up with the whole thing allowing the absolute wizard of a hair dresser to finish the job. Wish I would have grabbed names. They were awesome would rate even higher if I could
Krystal and Nimira are amazing. Haircut for our little one has been a nightmare in past but they both were so good in making our boy feel comfortable and keep him calm! We will be going back for sure. Great job!
This salon is absolutely fabulous with kids. My son has had two hair cuts here. The first haircut my son wasn't too thrilled, however the stylist was so patient and she was able to complete the cut. He was happy with the ball pit and toys. Second time the lady was so nice and they had Trolls on, my son had no issues. I am so thankful they were as fantastic the first time and now my son has no issues with getting his haircut:)
My 2.5 yr old had his first haircut here. We put off getting his haircut for the longest time afraid of what it would end up like. Turned out so great. Will definitely be back to this location.
I am very happy with my 18 month's haircut. Hairstylist Nadi was very fast and perfect with her Job. Thank you Beaners. Will defenitly see visit again.
Always a really nice gal working when we go. She does the best she can with my rambunctious toddler. Always manages to get bangs straight somehow. Worth the 20$
Stylist was quick and did a great job. Usually don't go to Beaners due to bad past experiences but the stylist that did my son's haircut this time around did a fantastic job.
Scheduled an appointment but they decided they should cut someone’s hair be cause the person with the appointment might not show up. Greed and unprofessionalism
Allanah (not sure on spelling) made my little guys day, she was great at keeping him calm and doing a great cut at the same time! I will definitely be taking my kids here for their haircuts from now on
Took my 15 month old here for his first hair cut and it went better than expected. The stylist was amazing at making sure that every new tool she grabbed she was showing him and telling him everything is ok. She did an amazing job through all the wiggling he did. Price was fair considering all that they have to put up with. Will most likely be back since it was such an easy process
The actual hairdresser that did my daughter's hair was great. She was friendly and very very patient with her as this was her first time and very squirmy. However, they sell a bunch of toys at the front and they are accessible for kids to touch and when my child was touching them, a different hairdresser rudely said that they had other toys for kids to play with in the back. Put toys for sale higher up, out of reach if you don't want kids playing with them! Then, when we paid and gave a decent tip, the lady at the front desk didn't even say thank you.
Was not impressed that I made an appointment for 10: 45 and the person that had an appointment at 11 was taken in before me because she was early to her appointment. I was there for my scheduled appointment time and was not taken and the lady (Zagreb) that was talking to me was INCREDIBLY rude and argued with me about respecting the other people’s time (when my time was not respected at all.) Have always taken my kids here but will not after my experience today. And My other friends with kids will be taking their business elsewhere as well. Thanks for the horrible customer service!
It's been a good place to take my young kids, but my youngest one is ready for a regular chair. They are a bit on the expensive side, but we've always been happy with their work.
The hair cut itself was decent and I like the place. But the lady who cut my daughter's hair was a bit rude and seemed to have very little experience with cutting kids hair.we take her to a specialty kids salon with the expectation that they can handle kids who can't sit still!
