Beaver Dam Flats

Beautiful walk to the river! We spotted 4 beavers swimming around until 2 coyotes showed up. It was a neat experience seeing the beavers go into defense mode.

I only have the video I can't upload here of me doing a face plant in the sand, on my Scooter down by the River. 10 inch wheels and sand or gravel bad but I love this area and ride the trails on my daily rip. I still encounter people not leashing their dogs. Please leash your animals it's dangerous for people and your dogs on trails and please stay on the right side of path whichever direction your going. I see a lot of people walking on wrong side of path coming at me. Wrong! Don't do this it will cause accidents and I will yell at you and say your going to cause an accident. Let's be respectful and aware. I've riden these trails for over 20 years and they are 10x Busier now than ever. Love this area and recommend a walk through.

There's really nothing here for pedestrians. If you like biking, it's fine. But I walked miles and couldn't find anything like a picnic table or a good spot to play in the river. It's a real shame because you are right along the river almost the entire time, and yet there's almost no access to it.

Love this sacred space, but I don't appreciate the defacing of the fallen trees. It's a slap in the face for the past generations that endured and used this area as a haven from the cold.

Good nature and the City of Calgary should leave it alone!
Let nature do it's own buiseness!

Awesome! Not sure when I was there but if it's around where I figure it's calming and will be great in the summer or guaranteed to fix sour moods

Some crazy religious people have been carving up the trees and painting them with religious slogans.

One of my favourite places for a leisurely walk along the bow. Lots of different trails, so if you're like me, and you like to be alone, it's the perfect spot for a quiet afternoon outside

I really wish the beavers would be culled though. The fencing around trees is beyond ugly

Good place to go fishing on the fly or spincasting. Not a lot of bites, but big trout around here. Best to fish a few hundred metres up or downstream of the boat launch itself, but limited shore access. Probably best done from a driftboat.

It was over 50 years ago that I first explored the Beaver Dam as a child. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Had a fire by the river side-roasted marshmallows! Great way to spend time outside with the kids. We just brought an hatchet and newspaper and made our own roasting sticks from branches

Nice park with acces to bow river and trails along it. Different paths from paved to gravel one. Cliff above has amazing views of DT Calgary.

Great place to take the dog for a walk or fish. Great bird watching. Often see beavers, as the name suggests, if you wait by the mouth of the creek. Skateboard or bike on the paved paths. Needs a few more trash bins but still a great park. 5 stars for me.

Very nice place to vist and sit by the river or pond. A few pathways through a heavily treed area.

A very scenic though lesser known, so less visited park but therefore a lovely quiet place to walk and see nature. Lots of bird life. Lots of deer.

No map or markings, would be nice to show a walking path, it's where cyclists fly through otherwise

My three girls love walking here, brings back great memories from when I was a kid playing here often. It's so beautiful this time of year, love it.

Take a walk or bike the path. I take my dogs there all the time. I keep an eye on the river which lately has been eye opening due to the level.
