I visited the bottle depot recently and had an outstanding experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the entire process a breeze. The facility was impressively clean, and I appreciated the use of automated counting machines, ensuring a fast and accurate transaction. Getting refunds was a seamless process, thanks to the efficiency of the staff and the ATM technology in place. I highly recommend this depot for its exceptional service and convenience. It’s a bit away from my place, but worth it!
Everyone here was wonderfully pleasant and very fast. I had a huge load of bottles and there was no hesitation to jump in and help me from the workers. The facility was also very clean and organized.
Friendly and helpful. So fast with the sorting machines too. More than a couple times I've shown up overloaded with the kids and too many bottles, and someone always comes over to help with my carts without asking. Appreciated, especially since it is my own fault after all.
Best service in the city! We have used Beddington heights for multiple bottle drives while fundraising for my son's Blizzard soccer team. Karim and Shafik with Beddington heights are second to none!
The Beddington bottle depot has been great for fundraising groups and charities. They were able to accommodate us on short notice and their operation is quick and they got great staff! Thanks to Karim and Manny. Not to mention great hours opening 7 days a week too! Thanks from HHSC!
We’ve worked with Beddington Heights Bottle Depot twice now for bottle drives for the Huntington Hills Skating Club. The staff is friendly and helpful at every step of the process. They provide a truck to fill if you are operating off site - and the best part is they contribute an additional 10% of your base collection to your organization. Whether you are fundraising or just cleaning out your garage, this bottle depot is awesome. Thank you Karim and staff for everything!
I brought PT 249, Can 86, Glass 6,1L 9, paper pack 11. I know the numbers because I counted and bagged the bottles/cans before hand. But he counted 15 less. 15 LESS!
People are friendly, but They count less bottles than actuals.this happened 3-4 times with me. Once i counted before depositing and turned out 5-7 bottles less per 50-60 bottles, -that's 10%; don't know how much i lost over past 2years
I honestly just had the best experience at the bottle depot! Firstly, they had someone waiting outside who walked me in right to a station which felt like very high end customer service. A staff member was working on sanitizing the shopping carts as well which was appreciated!
Inside it actually smelled GOOD like someone had lit an incense. They counted my bottles quickly and efficiently, and all the other workers were ensuring areas were cleaned consistently.
There was also a young boy at the bottle depot at the same time and I witnessed two workers making an effort to make the bottle depot a fun experience for him!
Folks why do you think Bottle depot owners are GETTING RICHER N RICHER? It's easy income! This bottle depot is a very straight forward n easy example! When ever I take BOTTLES here I PRE COUNT at home, but the moment they count ITS ALWAYS ALWAYS LESS than what I get! Why their employees are trained to trick customers n mess up the count in case customer argues n is counting as well. I have being counting it for last few years & taking BOTTLES to atleast 6 different bottle depots in the city, but each one does it! This beddington is height of all times! There is atleast 10 bottles difference in my pre count & count at depot, when I spoke up, they have all sorts of excuses! Folks take small batches & pre count & argue the moment u find it out. I have stopped taking anymore here. Try different depots please.
I had 15 liter costco water bottles and 4 liter milk bottles. Not only the attendent there paid 10 cents for 15 litter water bottles rather than 25 cents, he also counted 5 bottles less. My wife used to handle all this and I had no idea because this was my first time. Just be careful and always look at the printed receipt. Or don't go to this bottle depot
Everyone is super nice and efficient. They keep their facility fairly clean and there's handwashing and hand sanitizer available. The employees follow Covid protocols very well. Receipts are printed not handed over, there's an atm dispenser which scans your receipt, no contact with a cashier. Very cool guys, keep up the good work!
The service is quick, with automated cash dispensers. However, there is no sanitizer available and everyone is handling the carts to transfer their empties. The carts weren't being disinfected, or products to do it ourselves.
I've been bringing my bottle returns to this depot for years and they have the best system in the city. Each visit is super quick, efficient, and incredibly accurate thanks to their nearly fully automated sorting and counting equipment. But what really blew me away is how the owner, Shafik, gave me over 30 minutes of his time yesterday on the phone, providing me with valuable information regarding the Canadian Springs bottle refund situation. Specifically, how Shoppers Drug Mart is withholding deposit money and referring customers to collect their deposits from bottle depots. Canadian Springs bottles are not registered with the provincial government and Shoppers Drug Mart is actually giving customers false information. This has been a reoccuring issue for MANY customers and I feel very bad for Shafik (and other staff in the bottle return business) who are continually bearing the brunt of disgruntled customers, as if it's their fault. Shoppers Drug Mart (and other companies) need to be held accountable for their blatant FRAUD and give back our money.
They usually open a little bit earlier than noted. Friendly staff and will treat you with respect if you show respect as well. It's pretty clean in the mornings but can get messy later during the day. Plenty if parking space and have access to carts. There are ramps to roll carts up. The facility seems to be upgrading each time with new machines. If you're sticky with bottle numbers I suggest count them yourself before hand.
Very few people there, and all the employees were wearing masks. There are now plexiglass shields up in front of the staff (like everywhere else), and there were shields on the big sorting tubs. Overall much better than the last time I went in March.
This place is great. Friendly and safe. A couple automated tables and all have plastic protection. Can get busy, just check your times but really the wait isn't that bad. Bring your e cycle items, the bin is right near the door.
People are friendly, but They count less bottles than actuals.this happened 3-4 times with me. Once i counted before depositing and turned out 5-10 bottles less per 250-280 bottles, ; don't know how much i lost over past 1year.
I travel from Edmonton to Calgary and visit my parents every month, just so happened that they needed bottles returned and I offered too take them. Had heard about Beddington Bottle Depot from a few people and decided to drive from Pine ridge to Country hills. I am so glad that I did. I am so impressed with the level of cleanliness and disenfecting during this pandemic. The staff are all geared up and making sure that they also follow regulation. I have yet to see this level of refinement in Edmonton bottle depots. Will definitely advise all family and friends in Calgary too come and make Beddington Heights Bottle Depot the only Bottle Depot they visit. Keep up the good work guys!
We have used Beddington Heights bottle depot for our last 4 bottle drives for my sons Blizzard soccer team fundraisers. Shafik and the team at Beddington Heights have proved time and time again through relentles customer service that they are the best in Calgary. Thank you Beddington Heights bottle depot for everything so far and I look forward to many more experinces with you in the future.
This is my 3 times to come here and i find the staff very well trained to cheat! They will count the bottles then do something else like arrange something then come back counting again then just punch the last count. I will never come back to this depot. Integrity and honesty is very important than good profit that came out from cheating.
We are a fundraising unit that have been using the Beddington Bottle Depot for our bottle drives. They have been so kind and generous and a huge support to their community. They work so hard and are prompt at counting and sending us our totals.
Friendly, super supportive of community organizations, and hard working!
This is by far the best bottle depot in Calgary! The staff and so friendly and helpful. I only take my bottles here because i know i will get fantastic service. They all work so hard to get you in and out fast. Recommend 100%
Pretty accurate. Went by today and dropped off over 635 containers, (I pre count as I fill the bags and track as I build up a stock). The count was only off by 7 items. Well worth the time and very efficient. Location is pretty clean and they do maintain the area quite nicely.
Always honest, reliable, and efficient. One time the depot was closed but the owner was still there, he unloaded my cart and kept it for the next day, sending me away with a ticket to reclaim the refund amount the next day. Everything went smoothly when I came back and the total was close to my approximation. This is the only place my Family ever goes.
Update July 5th 2018 No need to apologize as you don’t mean it. About my restaurant i will never dare to talk with my customers the way you talk with me beacuse for me my customers are God, and stop doing this hygiene and cleaning drama beacuse there was no garbage or anything like that but some liquid leakage from my bag. The only pain was you have to leave your office and come downstairs for few seconds to mob the floor.
I was there today and the owner told me that There are few drops of water coming out from your bag of canes and that’s not hygiene.i did not say anything. But I ask myself I am giving him business and this guy make 1.5 Million dollars a year from customers like me and he can’t clean few drops of water but to ask me why not you clean all the bottles in your beg. Oh man I bring everything from my restaurant how can I clean each and every bottle. That’s good we have now Sage hill bottle depot too.
I regularly bring my recyclables in this branch. However I had a bad experience with one of their staff lately. I was asked to count the items myself and sprayed air fresheners in front of me not realizing the hazard it may have to her health and mine. It is expected that some of the items may have unpleasant smell but you don't show attitude towards customer. These recyclables comes from a hospital where I work and proceeds goes to the patients and unit staff miscellaneous needs. I'm now in search for a better depot.
I trust the automated sorting machines more than the staff and owner, but you're not guaranteed to get called over to one or the other. I find this place horribly inconsistent in its accuracy, sometimes their count can be off by up to 25%, If you care about getting every penny of your bottle deposits back don't bring your bottles here.
*Update. The line of cr@p parading as an answer to this review from the owner is the same line I get every time.
The last time I called to complain I was $15.50 short on my return, (I counted before coming in) they offered me $1.70.the thing is that I spoke to them over the phone and did not provide my receipt. Somehow the owner was still able to identify me on the camera footage without knowing exactly when I came in or knowing what I looked like. Sound fishy? I certainly thought so.
I'm not going through the trouble of bringing in my latest receipt, (I have been cheated every time here for 3 years) only to get cheated again.
I simply don't go here anymore.
