All around 5-star experience. Service was efficient and friendly. Vibes are 10/10 if you like the diner feel. Highly recommend!

Looking from the outside I thought it would have better food but the food was only okay. Also they brought the bill without asking if we wanted anything else, which I thought was a bit weird. My wife appeared to have a more enjoyable experience than I did.

This restaurant has become a staple in our household. We just moved to calgary and absolutely love the service and food here. Can't wait for the next time we're here.

Love the food and atmosphere. Love that I don't have to pay more for gluten free food. They accommodate my families food issues no problem

One of our very favorite brunch places. I had the Popeye Bowl, who knew you could put perfectly poached eggs on spinach and create a masterpiece?

One of the most fun 50’s diner style Breakfast joints you’ll go to! Our go to stop in Calgary for breakfast on our way to the mountains. Staff are amazing and always so pleasant to deal with. I always get the Marilyn Monroe breakfast and am never disappointed and always leave so full. Their milkshakes are amazing and you have to get one if you stop here! Will be back next mountain trip!

First visit and will definitely be back. I had the Benny burger and it was definitely worth the twenty bucks! Never had anything like it! Brisket, an egg, mushrooms, bacon, juicy burger and cheese with a salad on top. Sloppy as hell and the first bite left me with mayo and juice running down my fingers. Perfect! Service was as cool as the atmosphere. Looking forward to bringing the kids next time.

I love a good breakfast place, and bennys did not disappoint. The breakfast poutine I ordered was delicious and well priced. The decor was exactly what you would hope for in a classic diner. I didn’t love that you couldn’t have tap water and instead had to purchase bottled water. If you have small children, be aware that they don’t have a kids menu - an unfortunate oversight in my opinion.

Accidentally found this gem after taking a wrong turn while passing through Calgary on our roadtrip. Food was incredible, if only we had places this good in BC. Thank you for the great eats!

The best breakfast in Calgary hands down. Incredible staff and amazing atmosphere. Gluten free options are out of this world good.

Best Benedict eggs in town that I have tried for the last 5 years. Make sure to book a table in advance as sometimes is busy and need to wait +30 min for a table.which reaffirm that food is great

Heard great things about Benny's but trying it out for the first time here in Nov 2021. It's a little piece of HEAVEN for sure! You can tell when a place puts a lot of love & thought into the food they serve & there's to me absolutely no doubt this is one of them! Judging by what I ate you can likely feel confident in ordering oh about 100% of what's on the menu! Elsa & Tanya (manager) the two awesome gals working the section I was in were also super friendly & so obviously right on top of things. I (with as many ppl as possible) will definitely be going back very soon!

One of the best breakfasts you'll get in Calgary. Not only best bang for your buck, but great old school diner atmosphere, and the service is amazing. We went early on the weekend, it was busy but not so busy that we had to wait for a table. We had the Marilyn Monroe and the Latke Benny and they were amazing. Jessica was our server and she was great with a fun and bubbly attitude too. Perfect start to the day, can't wait to go back.

The food was astounding! Certainly try the milkshakes along with your breakfast meal. This place gives you the retro 50s style vibes; very unique restaurant and amazing staff members. We were in a hurry so they prepared our food immediately, will certainly be coming back when we return to Calgary!

After seeing the thousands of positive reviews on here and seeing the great breakfast menu, my friend and I were so excited to try this place out. Unfortuanly, I was left so disappointed.

Disappointments:
- The Long Wait - We went on a Sunday morning and got there around 10: 30am. Unsurprisingly, it's quite busy. The host adds us to the waitlist and tells us it will be 20-25min. That’s fine. My friend and I don't get sat for closer to an hour though. I would have apricated a more accurate time because we were both so hungry by the time we finally got sat. But whatever, you can't control how long people take to eat.

- The "French Toast" - I was excited to try their French Toast. It's a classic breakfast food and awfully hard to screw up. Or so I thought. I ordered it plain (I didn't want the chocolate sauce and maple whip cream and whatever else on it) but with the strawberries on the side, with maple syrup. With a side of bacon.

By the time it arrives (waited 20-30min for our food) the presentation is disappointing. Two pieces of thin toast (that looked raw) cut in half with only four strawberries on the side. And cheap store-bought syrup in it's original packaging on the side.

I'm willing to try it though and took a bite. The French Toast is extremely basic, something I could have easily made at home. Maybe I should have gotten it with all the toppings. Plus the edges weirdly crispy, almost burnt. Luckily, nothing was raw.

The bacon was under seasoned and leathery. I ate half of one before I stopped. I was so disappointed in my food and my friend felt bad. I didn't bother telling my sever. There was nothing they could do, obviously the kitchen only makes their French Toast one way, and nothing else appealed to me on the menu.

Pros:
- Eggs Benedict - My friend said her egg's benedict was delicious and the presentation looked great.
- Impressive Design - It really is a cool 50s diner. The owners didn't cheap out on décor, and it was a cool little spot.

So, if you like eggs benedict (they have a page full of options), you don't want French Toast, and don't mind waiting, this is the spot for you.

Fantastic traditional 1950s style diner. Come for the eggs benny! Perfectly cooked eggs, homemade hollandaise… A crave-able breakfast! Definitely will be back!

I had the Salmon benni - by far the best benni I've tested! And loved the theme of the restaurant!

Always good, love that we get our own pot of coffee on the table - saves the customer from waiting and likely the servers from extra tubing around!

Delicious & quick breakfast joint! Food tastes fresh & had amazing portion sizes. Definitely will come back again. Great COVID precaution practices as well.

Excellent food, attention to hospitality, quality staff, prices may not be cheap but they are reasonable for what you get.

The restaurant was packed so we anticipated good food. Service was fast and friendly. We were surprised how fast our breakfast came considering how busy the restaurant was. Bring your appetite, the portions are hefty!

This is one breakfast diner gems that should be in someone checklist while visiting or staying in Calgary. Coffee is great, portions are huge, bacon are crisp, eggs tastes fresh in total a great breakfast experience

We enjoyed a delicious brunch at Benny’s. The service was excellent and the food was tasty. I had the Marilyn Monroe breakfast. The hash browns were delicious. The bacon was great but the sausages weren’t my favourite. The portions were large as you can see! Overall an enjoyable experience!

Great service, good menu, great decor but ultimately it's about the food and at those prices it should be great and fresh.but sadly it's not and does not meet the great or fresh.

Our server was amazing and super friendly, we were seated and served very quickly. Food was delicious and portion sizes were good for the price! Would highly recommend!

The food here is good, just wish it wasn't served with a side of politics. Everytime i'm here all I can hear is the owner talking about covid policies ruining his business and his rights. He was saying that government handouts are making it hard for him to find waitresses who actually want to work. Funny thing is that I can see plenty of other reasons why they wouldn't want to work here. Having to listen to his diatribes makes the fantastic food here taste a lot worse and unfortunately I won't be coming back to eat here anymore. I suggest you don't either.

Delicious breakfast.bacon and chorizo were well done and very tasty! The French toast was good just not as soft but still yummy and tasted great with the whip cream and strawberries they add:) would deff come again!

Very disappointed. You have to buy your water. The potatoes are pale, you can't get them crispy even if you ask. They removed portobello Benny from the menu. Chicken fingers are processed frozen. Not impressed. Will never go back.

Great breakfast spot with a fun retro theme. Only downside was that they do not offer tap water and instead have anyone that wants water purchase a plastic water bottle, which is of course extremely wasteful and unnecessary.

My first time at this wonderful restaurant! The service and food was awesome. I love the "1950's style diner" decor and atmosphere. I will definitely return to this gem!

We visited on July 4th before the mask bylaw had been rescinded in Calgary and none of the front of house staff were wearing masks. The server was pleasant but barely stopped by, it seemed like they were the only server and the place was packed. The perogies were not great. They said potato and cheddar but there was no cheddar to be seen or tasted and the potatoes had the flavor and texture of an under cooked baked potato. The others at the table wanted soft poached eggs and were, in so many words, told they weren't going to be soft; they came out somewhere between medium and hard. They charged an extra two dollars to substitute bacon for a meagre amount of diced tomatoes and the coffee tasted watered down. They forgot multiple items in our order even though they took it down on a portable POS while we ordered. This was our first time so maybe this was just a perfect storm considering it has good reviews.

Good food, nice staff but everything is a hidden fee. Even water, they charge you for a bottle instead of just getting you a cup.

I have heard many great things about Benny's but I was a little disappointed. Had the chicken and waffles benny but the waffle was dense and doughy while the chicken was tough with way too much seasoning and soggy batter. Hope it was just an off day for them honestly

My first time and found the service and food to be awesome. Kevin the owner chatted with us a bit. The only down side is the paper straw in the milkshake. It gets soggy and gross. You should offer a choice between paper straws for the tree huggers or plastic for those who prefer to not put a soggy paper ball in their mouth.lol.as for price. I think it's a bit over priced for what you get but the portion size is not skimpy and the food is good. I have 17 years experience in the restaurant business and I'm a chef by trade so I give them 5 thumbs up but only 4 stars. I would definitely come back and recommend to others but a bit too pricey to make it my "go to" place.

Awesome cool dinner! Love coming here multiple times a week! Food is always great, large portions for what you pay and cool retro but yet modern atmosphere! This is my only place where I’ll go for breakfast in Calgary! It’s evident there is lots of pride taken in the food and business! Keep it up

Quality, Bang to buck ratio, Atmosphere and staff are all working at the top of there game.

This has quickly become my go to spot for a quick and fantastic breakfast. Once a week over the past several months food has been consistently fantastic. I usually do a pick up order, but even just stepping in for a minute your eyes are taken to all the fantastic décor and memorabilia lining the walls.

The Staff has always been extremely friendly, and fantastic. Almost feels like a little hidden spot with it's location, but making your way to Bennys is like a trip to the Flavor town of the past. Highly recommended.

Have you ever went for poutine where they forgot the gravy? This was our favorite breakfast place everytime we come to calgary, until we ordered to go, and they forgot the hollandaise sauce, which is really the main part of Benedict eggs, i called and was told thank you for letting us know and she was nice on the phone. The food is great but i would have appreciated some sort of compensation or deal for next time. It was a 70$ order afterall.

Great breakfast place. Hidden gem! Patio is perfect during covid. Very delicious, huge portions. One of the best eggs Benedict spots in town.

The first time I've ever been to Bennys Breakfast Bar-and let me tell you. It was an experience.
I LOVE eggs Benedict and am usually let down to be quite frank. This was not the case here. Easily I can say this was the best food I've had anywhere in the city. Heck best ever. Sorry mom ;)

- I ordered the Montè Cristo Benny. Something out of my comfort zone. I was not disappointed. It was so amazing it had me weak in the knees leaving. I could have shed a tear. Seriously. -The layers were unbelievable, beautiful. I cannot express how huge the portion was. Everybite had all the flavors. I was gobsmacked. I couldnt even finish it. Best ever. I will be thinking of it until the next time.

Our waitress was perfect, she was happy, observant, all around pleasant. We never had to wait for anything.

Benny’s talks the talk, but doesn’t quite walk the walk. Everything is stunning here, from the decor, to the menu, and even the reservation system.

Where things start to go downhill is in terms of cleanliness.

The women’s bathroom was flooding from one of the stalls, and we found a fruit fly buzzing around our empty milkshake cup.

Not sure if I would return.
