Stopped in at this West Edmonton store to buy a hard drive and thermal paste. The associate spent most of my time trying to talk me into buying more expensive merchandise and an extended warranty. When I said "no" he became even more arrogant, showing an elitist attitude towards me. He was argumentive and obtuse, belittled me and showed total disrespect. I will never darken their doorway again.

Waited for 30 min for someone to help with computer monitors and asked 3 other staff if someone can help and still nothing. If the staff was working for commission you would have to fight them off but now you can't find anyone to help.
October 24,2021. Another two visits this month and not a single offer for help. I was prepared to buy a $1499 Lenovo laptop today had I been helped at all in the 20+ minutes I wandered around the computer department
Really difficult to get someone to help you. I once waited around for about 20 minutes without even being acknowledged. I was there to purchase 3 Android tablets for my home automation system and left with nothing. I actually sat on one of the display tables for about 10 minutes in hopes that someone would say something to me but nothing. I did buy a phone here and the extended warranty last April. I was sold on the warranty on the basis that the phone would be exchanged in store instantly if something went wrong with it. I had an issue with the power button and was told by the Geek Squad I have to call a 1-800 number to have a new phone sent to me, not instant exchange! It took almost 2 weeks to get my phone replaced, not very convenient for a business owner who relies on his phone to make a living.
My review is actually about the employee Mitchell. I misplaced the receipt to fill the survey (sadly because he's the literal best ever). My life has been absolute chaos this year, resulting in me having to move multiple times. I was starting a new job and could not begin without a laptop. I was approved for financing, but when closing the sale, it couldn't be completed because of all of the different addresses i had for mail, ID, etc. I cried. Mitchell was SO PATIENT and he just kept talking to Fairstone to try and advocate for me. He even offered me water when i cried.like A+ customer service AND emotional support. He didn't treat me like the crazy lady I'm sure I looked like. Honestly I'm pretty sure he stayed late to help me too so I didn't have to restart the process. Needless to say I went home with my laptop and started the job that was going to offer me the fresh start I needed. Literally naming my first child after Mitchell (even if its a girl). Please promote this man to any role you can, he displayed leadership, support, and understanding WAY above and beyond someone entry level, or even in basic supervision. Mitchell if you see this, you actually played a part in changing someones life that day. It just goes to show that putting 100% in EVERY interaction, is more valuable than you know.
I looked for a new iPhone 13 pro max blue, I filled up an online request form on Best Buy web and got a call from one of the agents Stony Plain Road Edmonton, he is named Parth, he’s service was above my expectations, awesome customer service! He really helpful, polite and knowledgeable, he helped me to got a really good deal on the plan (what I did not expect, surprised me), and I was back to home with a new iPhone 13 Pro Max for my wife's birthday gift! Cant call anymore if the product is really in store or not. The website said one on hand. So i called the phone and someone from online sales picked up and said the store dont take call anymore and i have to go in store to pick up item or have to buy online and pick up in store. So i went there to buy that item and they could not find it.waste of gas. Why can't u just let customers call and tell if the item is physically on hand or not instead of driving there and wasting gas.
I went to this store and spent 30 minutes finding help; no one came to help or answer any question; I had to chase someone, after explaining what I needed, this person seemed bothered by me asking to make sure it was what I needed. I trusted them. I had to go back and return what I bought because it wasn't the piece I needed. I'll continue shopping online these days rather than making a worthless trip to this place because the only thing they have left to compete with online shopping are humans and they don't seem to care.
Can’t say enough good things about this location! Friendly staff and extremely knowledgeable. We purchased our dream TV - 82 inch Samsung and the buying experience was fantastic. Best Buy no longer allows you to call their local store about products. You can only speak to their main office. This is the opposite of good customer service. My business will be going elsewhere until they reverse this decision.
The service at this store has gone downhill over the past few months. I generally only come here if i'm absolutely desperate and need supplies for work asap. When the staff aren't on their phones, they are avoiding customers. Please do better. It's not that difficult to help customers out.
Absolutely terrible customer service and liars, was told when I bought my phone that all geek squad warranty would be done in store. Go to store for warranty and the so called manager was useless and incredibly rude will never buy and thing from best buy again. Also geek squad warranty is a joke pay monthly and when you need it and still have to pay full price for new phone to be shipped out
Rayan helped my boyfriend pick out the go pro max a week ago or so. We ended up spending an hour with him, getting great advice about each product and just enjoying our experience with him. Rayan was definitely a pro & he genuinely enjoyed his job it was really refreshing!
Went to pick up two ps5 preorders we both live in different households but used the same credit card as the gf preordered them both. Went to pick them up and the lady at customer service zatta was very friendly and as helpful as she could be. But they would not let us pickup the second one because they deemwd it was the same household. Even though both our IDs had our own different addresses. She then called a supervisor and then a manager named Mitchel. He was extremely rude and did not care. And just told us to leave. We had contacted customer service earlier who said it was fine a s well. But Mitchell was extremely ride and should not be allowed to deal with public. Zatta was very apologetic to and understood. Thank you to the friendly couple who sold us there extra one after hearing our trouble with the employee Mitchel. Would not recommend and they need to fix there system which proccesed and updated us for both systems which apparently according to there system was allowed to go through.
I never went there but my family did. From what I heard, it was a great experience got something I needed within the quick of flash they said they wouldn't repair it for me the next time but because of warranty and unusual issues I got a new and fresh one straight out of the box that I got from Best Buy.
Needed help with finding a good computer that would be in my price range and do what I needed it to do and work with my work meetings. Staff was very informative and it seemed like they really wanted me to get the best deal. Not just the one they can make the most commission on
Signed up for new phones during their friends and family sale on June 17,2021. Same phones, same data. Wife went from koodo to virgin to receive a $200 bill credit, and $250 giftcard. I signed up as a new customer to koodo over virgin as the associate told me their bill credit was $220 with $250 giftcard. The problem is when they ask you to sign your new koodo contract, it doesn't display the bill credit, associate assured me it would "self adjust later". The bill credit has since shown up at $100. Went back to best buy to ask about it, and they looked at me like I had two heads. Said they can't do anything. Don't trust them, and get it in writing!
In person service great. Terrible non existent customer service online. They offer telephone contact-but don’t answer. They offer online support with a 5 to 7 day turnaround time. It’s been a year since we were affected by COVID. How does a company your size not have a better system set up for customer service? You get a three because of the wonderful service I received in store by H———a. Some people want to be able to communicate with a live person when making a significant purchase.
First employee I spoke to didn't listen to what I was telling him and sold me the wrong cord (audio/mic splitter, was given 2 port audio splitter) store is so poorly organized i spent 15 mins looking for the right thing before just ordering from Amazon in 1 minute with no hassle. Will not be shopping with best buy again.
So usually I have no issues with this Best Buy location, but this time was different. I wanted to trade in an old Celeron laptop for an in-store gift card. The indian customer service rep along with her manager Modi could've cared less and denied it saying the computer specs couldnt be found in their system to give me a gift card when in fact the price estimator online said otherwise. When I insisted that it was of value and the price estimator said otherwise she was extremely rude and agitated towards me telling me no. So she called the manager Modi and when he verified it was of no value, he pushed it back at me saying "its of no value, so you might as well keep it and leave. " Like he could care less and wanted me out of there. Quality Best Buy customer service.don't even bother trading something in or asking for any help. I'd only go in there if you want to do a quick purchase or even better order from their online store and not have to deal with their god-awful customer service, and even then there are better options such as Amazon or Memory Express.
Online store is an absolute joke. Half their products listed are out of stock online and in store. One of my orders that I put in of 3 items, one thing that I ordered was out of stock after I had already went through check out and paid for it, one is still processing 2 weeks after I put in the order (still waiting BTW), and only one shipped in a timely manner. No follow ups, no updates, only thing I got as compensation for the out of stock item was a lame $5 off next purchase.
Bought a laptop from here and the charger only works intermittently. Brought it in to get replaced or fixed and all they told me was to buy another adapter.
Best service! Went to get a JBL Flip 5 and everything was organized and payed with cash and the checkout only charged my credit card 67 dollars! No complaints! Very happy and very good service!
Really good store. Clean, organized and friendly staff. I live in the North and just the back of my house is the 137th Ave store and yet I come here purposely. I wasn't suppose to buy. But one of their best employee Taha was able to convince me. He wasn't pushy or somewhat aggressive but he was friendly and readily available to answer all my questions. I am very impressed! Highly recommended Bestbuy store in the metro.
I can now understand why people stay away from your stores and order from Amazon Its because you're store can not pick up the phone and answere a question but amazon will call you really fast to answere any questions so I guess again after the 3 time in 10 years I tried to spend money at you're store if they could pick up the phone and answere a simple question which is impossible from all you're stores at least in Edmonton I live out of town so to drive in to maybe see if the product is physically in the store is a waste of my time and money so its online buying again so this is why most Canadian businesses will fail and our money goes to the usa etc nice move on you're communicating part wow

Terrible online service! I ordered a laptop after days of researching. It was listed as available to ship, no issues. They took my order, credit card information, I received a confirmation email. Only to get an email nearly 2 weeks later stating the order was cancelled as the product was unavailable! When you order an item that is time sensitive then need to start all over researching due to website misinformation and delayed response, UNACCEPTABLE!
Absolute terrible manager in this location. System crashed after paying for an iPad and was told I didn't pay for it. Even with proof from my bank he still wouldn't help. I will never ever shop at this best buy again. Absolute joke DO NOT SHOP here.
I recently purchased a Microsoft Surface Book 3,2in 1 laptop. The unit that I received has a defective screen which was not detected until about a month after the unit was received. After many weeks of getting shuffled around in a customer service system, who seemed to be masters at not being able to connect in person I was advised that there is nothing they would do for me since it involved a defective screen. Had a cracked the screen myself I certainly would certainly take accountability and not have wasted countless hours trying to rectify the situation. Please don't make the same mistake that I did. Do not buy Microsoft Computer products!
Walked in looking to buy a specific laptop- not only did I not get helped but I approached 2 employees about the purchase and neither so much as gave me the time of day. Very unimpressed!
I did what they asked and reserved in store. I went in and went to the place to pick up. There are 2 stations and 2 people working, one serving a customer. The other person tells me I'm standing in the wrong spot so I move and rather than assisting me he just walked away. This caused me to spend more time than necessary in the store and the other party being helped had a child that was not wearing the mask properly potenially exposing me. If they are trying to limit time spent in store they are not going about it very well.
I dont know whats going on with this store.five separate employees couldn't find the air conditioning section. 3 were incredibly rude.they don't honor sales set buy their home office.
I suggest going elsewhere.i did and will never come back to such a horrible company!
Kane was very helpful when I needed a new laptop. He listened to my needs and showed me the best one. Very helpful and polite. Very sensitive to my hearing impairment difficulty with the masks.

He is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and courteous and always goes the extra mile to help. I can't recommend this place enough and it is the only place I will go for top notch computer service. I'm hoping I'm using the right words. But this best but is very open concept. All the items are very nicely displayed. There is a tons of employees, it's nice when you need helps but at the same time it gets a bit annoying when every couple steps an employee comes and ask how you are doing.
The mobile personnel changed my plan without purchasing any device, without agreement and without my consent. I found out the next day that my plan has changed and I had to spend an hour with my carrier to fix the issue.
Great service from Dinesh Fernando! We are from out of town and had literally 15 min to buy a new receiver. Dinesh greeted us as we walked in and brought us to the right area. He reviewed everything with us, asking us what are needs were and making suggestions. We walked out with a new receiver and were on on way! Thanks Dinesh.
Excellent service and they had what I wanted. Other stores seem to get you in and then try to convince you to order on-line in the store. If I wanted to order on-line, I would do so and have it shipped to my home.
Horrible service. Came in with 3 people at the door and not greeted. Was looking for a new surround sound system and ended up walking out after 5 min as there were associates everywhere but no one asked to help. Save yourself the trip and go to visions instead.
They have 40 people standing around and the only till is doing tech support for 20 minutes. For double the price as Walmart. Go to Memory Express. They have better staff and products. And prices.
Had a product on there website for one price drove there to find out they didn't carry it but had a different cord for way more money they are a RIP off
I bought a 34" widescreen computer monitor from the west end Best Buy at about 3 pm today. I was welcomed by two staff members who were interested in giving me a hand. I described what I wanted. The employee (I wish I remembered his name - he was great) he repeated back to me what I said I needed and he asked a couple of questions to be sure. He had a terrific recommendation, and I chose the monitor he suggested. It was not one presently on display, but it better suited my needs. He and another staff member made sure I had the monitor right away. By the time he helped me search for a docking station cable, the monitor was out of the warehouse and ready for checkout. It's all set up now and I couldn't be happier with my experience! If you need something, this really is the best place to go. Ask a staff member for help and you might be pleasantly surprised at what they can suggest:) In the photo, it's the widescreen monitor on the right.
When I look at the name " Best Buy" I get the feeling its a singular purchase. But for anyone who has ever graced the "Best Buy" they know its nearly impossible to come out with a singular purchase. Sharpen your literary skills because this "Best Buy" will leave you with plural puchases. So go on to the Bestest Buys and find all the cool gadgets you 100% don't need but 100% do want and can't wait for Amazon to deliver. Perturbed with bestbuy. Tried to get help, go to customer service, they tell me to go to mobile. Mobile says no, go to customer service. Back I go, they can't help. So mobile says call the 800 number, they'll help me. No, not in the least, the 800 tells me I have go to a mortar and brick to get the help I needed. All I wanted was a receipt, of a phone I bought to show the IEMI no. So no warranty work!
Aside from the warranty on the phone always being explained in a misleading poor manner, we have had great experiences getting the best plans for good phone models here and will continue to go back. However when it comes to having to pay, there is always a sea of blue shirts on the floor or (talking amongst each other at the customer service desk) and only one poor cashier to manage a long slow line.
I bought a head set a couple of weeks ago. It broke and I had to return the item. It was a hassle free process with the receipt. Also purchased a different headset to replace it. They were the same price as amazing and cheaper than Walmart.
Wife and I were followed around by salespeople who would just linger and make the whole time we were there uncomfortable and awkward. Terrible experience
Good store layout, friendly staff. I was able to call and put a product to the side until I was able to get there. Sales staff are not pushy, easy returns too.
Good place to buy electronics but you have to wait what can seem like an hour to even get assistance from staff. I was in the store on Sunday and it was quiet with a few staff members just talking to each other not helping customers. When I approached them to ask question about a home theater system, they just walked away as though I was not even there. Makes me think I'll be going to another location or even a competitor, like Visions Electronic down the road.
Customer service from the computer product specialist was top notch! Look for Jacob as he is really very helpful in finding the right laptop for me. The Geek Squad staff, on the other hand, need more training on customer service.
I purchased a stroller/car seat from best buy in jan 2019. I just noticed there was a recall on this model so I checked the manufacture date to see if it was affected and saw it was 2015! 4 years prior to my purchase date. As an newly expecting parent I just assumed it would have been manufactured in 2018/2019. When I talked to best buy they said they would not refund or replace stroller or car seat even though it hasn’t been used because it was over 30 days. So they sold me a “new” car seat I will only get 1 year use out of. Beware about buying from Best Buy.
Great tech store. Get everything you need from all major brands. They also have a comprehensive warranty program through Geek squad. Great place to get everything you need for your smart home.
Staff are friendly. Parking is ample and free. Store layout is great
