Hire some locals who can speak and understand English! Guy doesn’t even know what a screen repair kit is for a phone! Last time a guy didn’t even know what an hdi cord was. Then I stand in line waiting for geek squad who was too busy chatting with a guy over personal stuff than serve the next customer so I left! He did see me as well!

Was trying to purchase a laundry unit here that I saw online. I had to do the purchase in-store because I had multiple giftcards to use and there is a small limit online.

The bestbuy guy was having problems adding on the deals online so he asked his manager and they just ended up price matching it to the online deals. My place was also too new the shipping address was unavailable so they had to ship it to the store from the warehouse, and then have a local carrier deliver it to my house. This was at no added costs.

There was a part missing (needs to be purchased seperately) to hook up my washer/dryer unit upon delivery, but the delivery man had a spare and used it. We offered to pay him back for the part but he declined. I'm not sure if he works with best buy or is with a 3rd party company.

Overall my whole experience was wonderful from the purchase to the delivery! And I love my new laundry tower unit.

We just left the Best Buy on Northland in Calgary. Horrible customer service. We shop there on a regular basis and spend a considerable amount of money and have never experienced such a lack of customer service or courtesy as we did today. We went on-line to see that BB sold a cellular booster for home and office. We saw that they did sell them and we happened to be close to the Northland location so we popped in to see them and find more info on them. We first asked an employee where we could find the boosters he pointed to the far corner but said he was going on break so to talk to someone else. This new employer sent us to the corner where the Geek Squad was. We stood there for several minutes while a few employees were talking amongst themselves. Finally, to their dismay, we asked them about the booster. Without asking any further questions they said “no we don’t sell them” We asked where we could get one and they said no where in Calgary sold them that he knows of but suggested we try a competitor that wasn’t far from them. He said they probably don’t sell them either. I showed them that the boosters are on bestbuy.ca and he said this was a marketplace and a third party seller not BestBuy even though I showed him that I was on the BestBuy.ca site on my phone. These people were so rude and condescending and could not have cared less about helping us. My husband then went to talk to another employee while I talked to the manager. I didn’t get her name but she was about as interested in helping us as the Geek Squad was. She couldn’t have cared less. I asked her if she just didn’t care and wasn’t going to do anything and she said “I could give you s $25 gift card”! Really? My husband did get help from the employee he talked to and was going to order it from another BB store in Calgary that had it in stock and we would pick it up there. By this time I did not want to give our business to the store and we left without ordering it. Whatever happened to customer service and respect and helpfulness to customers. We will never buy anything again from any Best Buy in Canada and will be sure to tell our friends and family of our experience.

Had to share the amazing customer service I got tonight at the Northland location! I already knew what I wanted after research and had planned to be quick. I believe it was Rohin who gave me a hand finding what I wanted and brought my purchase up front for me. Love rang me up and was going to help load my purchase when I discovered my vehicle wouldn’t start with the cold weather. Both men came out in freezing weather, gave me a boost, and got me on my way in no time. They turned what could have been a horrible evening for me into a positive experience. 10/10 would return for employees like this!

Friendly staff. No one knows what they are doing. Sold my wife a subwoofer with no cable to use it. Had to come back and they had no subwoofer cables. Yes they ran out of all rca cable types on Boxing Day. Lol so every single person who bought a home theatre is going to have to buy one at another store. By the way, every other Best Buy in the city had them in stock, so I think it is just there merchandising department. Also no one told us that. Sold us the Wrong RCA cable when we returned. IE headphone to rca. I was willing to take anything useable. I guess it was my fault for not reading the print, but I assumed the guy who worked in home would have too. Also none of the staff knew where the cables were. Like home theatre staff. They had like 80 in the store together. Any way good luck and buyer beware.

I wish there were higher than five stars to give credit for the exceptional service we received at this store. My first contact was with Saba who called me to follow up from my online inquiry. She was knowledgeable, friendly and wonderful - and so happy to help and answer my initial questions. Our in-store experience was outstanding. We dealt with Saeed who signed us up with a more cost-effective phone plan which included new iPhones which we needed. His expertise and knowledge was impressive and so appreciated by us. We felt we lucked out having him assist us and were grateful for his patience and pleasant demeanour. What a great guy. Thank you. That team worked well together.

I don't know how Best Buy could possibly be #1 in Canada but anyway.

Every single time I goto this place they "just sold the last one yesterday".

Either that's a lie or this place is just poorly managed. I literally spend thousands at this place so I'm here frequently amd it's become defeating.

Today I asked if my product was available at a nearby store, the manager who was pushing me to order it said it wasn't. I could tell by her tone and body language that was not the truth, so I looked it up right infront of her.

It was available at numerous nearby stores.

Not impressed.

Tomorrow Ill be going to Visions to gibe them my $1800.

I'm done with you Best Buy.

They don't answer the store phone. A couple winters ago drove through a snowstorm to find information that could have been provided with a short phone call to the store. Went to another chain altogether and bought what I wanted. Best Buy lost a very big sale. Update: they still don't answer the phone-have no way of contacting individual stores. Asked a rep why that was and they said b/c of COVID (?). I struggle to think how this makes any difference, and that they haven't answered their store phones in years anyway.

Called first and asked about car radio install. Where told to just come over for install. Came in 2 cars to leave one car there. Upon arrival where told they don't do radio install. Ridiculous.

Bought a DSLR with an SD card, thought the card was in the same package as the camera, but when I got home I realized the SD card wasn't there.
Went back to the store in the day after with the receipt, and they said they couldn't confirm the employee forgot to put the card in the package because no cameras was pointed to the spot where it was done, and I had to buy the SD card that I had already paid for.

Had a lot of difficulty trying to order more than 1 item online for curb side pick up so decided to just head over to the store. I was greeted by someone who was very helpful getting me an associate. I then met Saeed R.who asked what I needed, he then disappeared into the back where less than 4 minutes later appeared with exactly the items I had requested. He was professional, polite and way easier than online! Thanks Saeed!

Best Buy in Northland have the best Store Manager. I always shop in this location and the store manager, Dexter is always there to help. He will go above and beyond in delivering customer service. Everytime I visit this location, I always go home satisfied with my purchase and the service. He is also the best person to talk to if you have any issues. His excellent customer service deserves to be recognized.

Roy at mobility gave outstanding service! He gave me a very good deal on a Fido subscription. I was only going to get a phone for one child but the deal was so tempting, i ended up doing an upgrade as well.

Purchases a gas range and dishwasher from the older gentleman in the appliance section. Great service, attentive, helpful, great price offered. I really thought that somewhere like Trail appliances would be better than Best Buy, but they were not in same league as this gentleman.
Items delivered on time by two polite and efficient delivery lads.
Waiting for install in a few days and hopefully this will be awesome too.

I bought a vacuum from this store 2 years back but lost the original receipt. The vacuum broke down last week and the manufacturer required the receipt for warranty purposes. I contacted Best Buy to see if they can help me find the receipt and with covid I wanted to avoid going to the store. Nav at this store got in touch with me to understand my problem and went out of the way to find the old transaction and emailed me a duplicate receipt. This reflects the customer service at this store. Kudos to the store manager for encouraging high level of positive customer experience.

We went there today to spend some money and buy new tv, playstation and monitors for my laptop. To get someone's attention took 40 minutes and to our Suprise during our interaction with the representative whom had so much attitude and was plain rude that we left without spending a penny and we will never come back.
Ordered everything from Amazon, thanks BestBuy!
My recommendation for best buy would be to really start to treat costumers with respect without unnecessary attitude and rudeness and that how they will get their commission.

I rarely write reviews, but I cannot help but wanted to share my experience at the Northland store. After my poor purchase experience with the store at Beacon Hills, the staff at Northland gave me a total different impression. The staff is nice and helpful. When the front desk staff were not very uncertain about my inquiries, the manager came to assist, also in a very helpful and professional manner. I am very sure the management must have led a very good example. This store will definitely be my first choice to go next time.

I had tried two other best buys at different locations in Calgary. However, none of them were as helpful and friendly as the Northland location. As soon as I walked in everyone greeted me. Once I began looking for my laptop an employee helped me right away even though it wasn’t his department he still explained very well. Once I spoke to someone from the laptops area they explained everything I needed to know about the laptops. They explained policies, deals, laptop information, and options for payment. I even called customer service for a quick question and the employee explained exactly what I needed to know. I honestly don’t know how everyone there is so kind and intelligent. Good location

Totally clueless about their own financing processes, and when informed to the contrary as have utilized those services thrice in the last 6 months, the reply, in rote, was ‘it was a mistake.cannot happen’. Thrice!? There could be, and well may be, better explanations.like a change in policy or removal of a promotion.perfectly understood.but a ‘mistake’. On three occasions? ! Wow! And all we wanted was to check if that ‘mistake’ (or a promotional feature as I would want to think about it) was still in existence.
The two geniuses found most vocal in displaying their ignorance with all the arrogance at their disposal were Russell and Jatin. Apart from pity, they could do with a refresher course in business communication and customer management; and a training session on the third party systems in place so they desist from making a mockery of the brand they represent.
Needless to say did not buy the intended from the Northland store.just visited the one at Beacon Hills and finished shopping.

Let me qualify. This is no reflection on other staff working there. They do have some excellent folks on the floor; hard working, diligent, helpful, courteous and knowledgeable; and it has always been a pleasure doing business with them on all earlier occasions. Would still recommend a visit there if only as a recognition for the hard work these folks put in day in and day out notwithstanding the dangers they face due to COVID. They deserve our respect and all the business we can bring in.

Will avoid best buy at all cost from now on. The costumer service is pathetic especially now that you can't phone the actual stores anymore while they hide behind some delusional covid measure. On Friday on my way out of northill mall I seen this TV in best buy that was out of the box and a good price. Since it was closing time I thought I would buy it online or over the phone the next day. After not being able to find it online I wanted to call the store and make sure they still have it and to buy it but I wouldn't be able to make it to the store until Sunday morning. Phone lines are shut down in all stores. So I call the call centre who were also not able to check the out of the box inventory or even call the store to check. I then try the chat feature but same issue. I then go the the store I was close to at the time and they are also not able to call the other store and who told me the TV was sold as it wasn't in their system. I left feeling skeptical so on my way home at 2am I drove by and shined my light in the window and there it is! Still for sale. Next morning at opening time I was there to buy the TV plus I wanted a Nintendo switch and philips hue hdmi box. Unfortunately they were out of both of them at that store but other stores in Calgary have it so I could pick it up there on Wednesday and Thursday. One day goes by and everything is delayed as it is being shipped with Canada post who are horrible at delivering on time. Yet they had them in the city and I just wanted to pick them up from the other stores I am now stuck waiting a week on canada post even though one of the products is already available and in stock at the store it is being delivered to with the other store just a few miles away now having given it to Canada post so I can't pick it up anywhere either until that is delivered. Also once I checked my receipt I seen that I was overcharged 30 on the TV. I wonder if that is difference in costs due to making them price match another product by 30 dollars. Guess I still have to go back and get more things sorted. Because they shut the phone lines I have spread potential covid germs over 4 visits in 3 different stores so how that measure is considered a covid precaution is beyond me

I read many of the reviews and I found people are complaining about the extended warranty. I guess I am so lucky then, we have two laptops from best buy and I purchased the extended warranty because I have kids and what kids usually do? Break things! For the last two years I returned the laptops many times and I bet that I fixed them more their prices! Lately the issue with my laptop repeatedly happened and I returned it for the same problem like 4 times and last time I went I asked for replacement became this is one of the warranty rules. I chose a new one within the same price for my previous one and left happy! The geeksquad lady did amazing job and so do everyone else. I am satisfied with their customer service and I would recommend the warranty for people who knows that they do accident usually with their stuff.

Good place with a decent selection. They do price matching with Amazon/other online retailers if you ask them to which can help you get a much better price (in my case it was for a GPU and and a CPU). I recommend you look up what they have in store online and then come to pick it up and price match it. It's a good option. If you don't want to order online and wait for delivery or need stuff asap. Geek Squad can help you with your repairs although it's a bit pricy and often it's more reasonable to just buy a new item.

The Best Buy store at Northland Dr is my favorite store. Dexter is a wonderful human being and is my reason for preferring that store even though I drive 15mins one way to get there. I live close to the beacon hill store but I'd rather go to Northland.

The staff is pretty helpful and they usually have the latest tech. But ever time I go there they seem to have kids from the near by school stealing computer mice. Other than that it is just a regular Best Buy

First off: poor management (if that's what they're called)

BestBuy financial is a joke and a way to steal money specially when no one there knew what they were doing, in order to use the card you have to to spend a total of 300$ (no one said any of that, and no disclosure was given for us to know this). And than have to pay 30$ on top of that? BS.

Did not like the front staff at computer geeks.they take advantage of people, seniors they see their lack of knowledge an advantage to gouge hefty service even when it's not necessary.the red haired dude is awesome though.he is willing to give you instruction on how to navigate on your laptop without gouging you.the rest of the staff at geek squad suck.any little thing you want these a hefty price.even if you bought their products at that store.

We had checked for our product online before going to the store. We had difficulty locating the item on store shelves and requested staff support. We were directed to a new area of the store but still did not find the item. Eventually another staff offered to help and struggled to locate the item. Eventually he found it in the back and not on the shelves. While he eventually super helpful, the experience was a reminder of why I have come to prefer inline shopping.

Went in to have a screen protector put on my new Galaxy S10+. Geek Squad applied it for me in a quick 10 minutes! In the meantime I checked some 'huge' (85" & 75") Sony and LG TVs! If only!

It was definitely time to replace my current laptop. Being me, I did my research and watched the flyers from all electronic stores for months now. My favorite laptop went on sale from 1500 to 999!
I quickly reserved it online and went to pick it up in the morning. The process was simple and fast, and I didn't have to buy it to reserve it!

I bought an instant pot ultra for $99 on sale and purchased a warranty for $25 with it. After two months the instant pot stopped working and I took the instant pot to store expecting a replacement since I have a warranty. Guess what they told me to go online and file a claim and bestbuy would issue a shipping label to ship the broken instant pot (I don't know how I would do this since I threw away the packaging that came with it) and I will have to ship it somehow to them. If the pot is found defective, I would get a $99 gift card. Now the same instant pot is not on sale and they expect me to pay $199 to buy a new one. I feel betrayed for getting the warranty. Please think before you buy anything at Bestbuy.
