Best Western Plus Suites Downtown

The location of the hotel is superb. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping and very central if it was too far to walk. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning with its wide variety of hot and cold items. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our 2 room suite. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

I was a lady solo traveller and I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, I was on the second floor and reading an earlier review, she was (the reviewer) complaining about street noise? I was just a floor up.
Well, I found it very quiet! Anyway, I found the staff very friendly, Anna who checked me in and Juan who helped me with printing a document…

I was pleased with the room, so big, lovely kitchenette, very clean, even a kettle as I don’t use a coffee maker.

The bed very comfortable and the pillows very supportive and again comfy.
As mentioned the hotel is going through a refurbishment and there are the designs and colours of what this will be like down in the lobby area to look at.

I used the breakfast room once, it was too busy for me as it isn’t a large area, BUT there are takeaway boxes if you wish to take food up to the room.

It’s close to a shopping area on 17th, a good coffee bar opposite, also a few minutes turning right from the hotel’s front entrance is a decent size Safeway Supermarket. It is open until 10pm very handy Place.

I would definitely stay again at this hotel.

Great Hotel, they have underground and surface parking.i kept my truck on surface and it was fine they have lots of cameras to keep it safe. The hotel was clean, good price and i was able to take a short walk to get supper.

Let's start with the good. Location. Close to everything we needed to be at. Rooms were a great size bath tub was wonderful. This is where we end the good.

The bad*** for being on the 7th floor you would think street noise wouldn't be so so bad.it was with all the construction going on in the hotel one would think sound proof windows would be high priority but nope! Party's till 3 am then sirens onward.
We checked in Friday at 830pm checked out 830am Sunday morning. 36 hours and in that time we had to get our room key reprogrammed 6 times maybe more. We kept key in protective case but each time we went to the front desk we were told it's our fault we put it near our phones we demagnitized it not once until the final time as we were checking out did the manager say it wasn't our fault.yeah we know it wasn't this isn't our first time in a hotel maybe just maybe there is something wrong with the door reader.

Parking* upon check in manager says park underground it's safer.nope it's not my car got hit and now I have a huge dent in it so no not safer at all. We parked above ground where there is minimal parking to begin with and 2 trucks took up 6 spots so again in a tight spot. I will add you pay for parking here! Now upon check out.there is signs everywhere to bring your stuff to lobby move your car to door and load up and leave.so that was impossible there were guests parked there because those 2 trucks took up multiple spots and the front desks answer to that was to put cones down and make more spots and block emergency access a taxi cab parked sideways made it impossible to even leave the lot.good times. 10 /10 I would not recommend This hotel unless you can live and function with out sleep, you don't mind people inside and outside the hotel partying all night doors slamming because the doors are a touch wider than the frame so you literally have to slam the doors.
Kept seeing things for best Western rewards.how about if you are going to charge a couple hundred dollars a night the reward be sleep!
And last.but not least on the duvet of one of the beds there was a ton of make up transfered onto it so really not that clean at all. Disgusting actually.

I like the hotel. The Suites we occupied was very spacious. It has 2 bedrooms, a Sala or receiving room with sofa bed. It has a kitchen, dining table, 2 flatbed TVs, and good restrooms. Our accommodation includes free breakfast. It has spacious parking space.

I had a unpleasant experience at this place with additional charges which was never informed to me while booking and before visiting. The Official website is old school and that's why I didn't booked from the official website. The GM and management is not at all bother about surprises occurred while check in and does nothing to help us out to create a better experience. If I would provided an option, We really have better options in downtown to spend a pleasant night then this hotel. I'll suggest you to avoid this hotel at all cost if it's a special time.

Nice stay. Room was huge and very accommodating. Everything was pretty clean. The carpet had taken some beatings over the years and everything was quite dated. But still pleasant. Elevators were very slow for the amount of guests and it took about 30 minutes to line up for the brekfast.

Construction seems to be underway as they're currently updating.
The hotel could definitely use some updates for the prices they're charging but still a good stay with no real issues.

Clean room, nice view, all necessary things were available in kitchenette. House keeping staff Paramjeet was very polite and helpful. She helped us with extra towels, baby crib and cleaned our room very well. I loved this place and would recommend if you want to stay in downtown calgary.

Great hotel, located fairly close to 17th Ave but quite far from the riverfront and downtown. Huge rooms, they’re all suites and come with a kitchenette. Hotel staff are friendly. Breakfast is pretty good. Great value for money! Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is a gem. The rooms are large, well done and very comfortable. The service is excellent and personal. The location is downtown and central. Its a pity we have to leave in two days.

I'm honestly confused how to rate this hotel. When we first arrived, I thought perhaps I had made a HUGE mistake but the place grew on us. Right downtown and minutes from the Entertainment District on 17th. A 20 minute walk to the Calgary Tower. Tons of conveniences right around the corner, so the walkability is terrific and I would stay here again for that reason. The staff were great. So accommodating.
Underground parking is included if you are a BW Rewards member, which we are so Yay for that!
The views from the 12th floor "city view" side are amazing.
However.
We booked a "kitchenette" suite, which boasted a filthy double burner.
Lots of dishes to be had, and dish cloths but no dish soap. I picked some up at Safeway up the block.
The beds are VERY firm. The hallways need updating, and I had to call down to front desk for a plug for the bathtub.
The parking garage is not at all convenient to access as there is a very sharp corner one must navigate and there is a lot of vagrant traffic in the area. Then again, it's downtown Calgary and this is a problem right in my own neighborhood so not the hotel's fault at all.
The hotel is under renovation and perhaps next time we visit, it will really live up to being a Best Western Plus hotel

I called the operator, and spent 13 mins and they never answered. Called from my cell, answered right away. The coffee makes isn’t working, and the operator said he’s gonna send someone to fix it. Been 20 mins since I called and nothing! Useless. August 12th 6: 32 pm. Whomever is working now should be fired! Can’t believe I’m paying for no service! I asked for an extra blanket, and the guy said he’s gonna send some soon. It’s been 19 mins. I called back for 9 mins and so answer. Don’t stay here. I can’t believe I paid for staying here…

We checked in late at around 22: 00. The room was a good size and a bit dated. I was greeted with lots of hair on my bed which was disappointing. It had good amenities. It had a sofa bed and 2 large beds that were comfy that one did have a lot of hair and the sitting room also has a television. The Breakfast was decent but it did the job for a weary traveller.

Great location. 2 bedroom suites are great but if you plan to cook very little in the way of pans and limited living room seating for a group of four. But staff is great, location is excellent and this is our preferred hotel when in Calgary.

Disappointed to find that the “ev chargers available” actually just meant they had a 120v outlet in the parkade. That is not an ev charger, if you don’t have a charger please correct your hotel’s amenity description.

The hotel is under construction, but the areas that are completed look amazing. The manager was super helpful in providing a discounted rate for our small group and worked within our budget! We stayed for 4 nights for a swim meet, the room had a small kitchen area which was amazing to be able to have home cooked food while away!
