Big Al's has always been a wonderful friendly neighbourhood pub, live entertainment is amazing and food is top notch. Highly suggest for a night out

If you like good ol music. This is the place for a $5 cover. Other wise sit yourself over by the VLTs for. Some entertainment. Service was underwhelming and the food was, meh!

Ok, my chunky butt has been on a bit of a diet lately. Eating more veg, more white meat, you know doing that kinda thing.

Well today I had my very conservative lunch of jerk pork chops, and veggies and I just kind of hated that I had to eat it again today after having it for dinner last night, I wanted red meat the craving overtook my whole thought process. It was a necessity at this point.

So, I did what all rational people do and I googled steak sandwich near me. I found Big Al's, read the reviews, they are highly rated and not ridiculously overpriced. Food looks good, I'm hungry this is what I want.

I am swamped with work, not able to leave, starting to feel a little hangry and decided I need to satiate this craving for red meat, like now. So I ordered their 14oz steak. I've order steak for delivery before and requested rare, and it came a little more cooked than I'd like it as it does that when you stick it in essentially a little tin foil heat keeper.
But, im stubborn and needed a rare steak so i took my chances, oh my goodness it showed up perfectly, perfectly rare.

They were super great about throwing in some horseradish sauce for me as well. Their sides, veggies and onion rings were delicious, but hands down the best side was their coleslaw. Balance of sweet, tangy and creamy.soooo soooo soooo good.

Service was great, the door dash diver was excellent as well. Super impressed.

Thanks to everyone. I'm a very happy chunky monkey now.

Also I only ate half the steak, 14oz is much bigger than I remembered it being.

Great local Pub that's been around forever. Fantastic service Great food and reasonable prices. Never get tired going back.

A jewel in the SE, the food is sooooo fricken good. The servers are all amazing, and the atmosphere is always inviting. Their wings are my fav, followed closely by the 12oz steak sandwich. And their prices are ridiculously LOW for the amazing food.

Have not been in 30 yes so it was fun to pop in for a beverage and watch some live entertainment. They have significantly renovated and the room looks much better than I remember.

I did not add atmosphere because I did not actually go there. Ordered in. However the food was amazing. I am so picky with wings and have tried everywhere in Calgary with very little …. No success but these wings were not only affordable for these economical times they were amazing. Crispy perfectly seasoned they were perfect. Stuffed potato was amazing too. Definitely ordering from this place again

Big Al’s delivered HUGE! We planned my sister’s 50th birthday on here and we could not have asked for a better venue with great food, service and live music. It was truly fantastic and enjoyed by all

Such good food! Ordered on Skip the dishes and DELICIOUS! All Pub foods are food but this one is so bomb. Totally would go there in person

Just went here for the VLTs, they have quite a few machines. It was pretty busy in the early afternoon.
