Big Horn Motel

Rooms basic but clean, very accommodating for pets (as opposed to motels that call themselves “pet friendly”, and then charge you $30 per pet). Sandy is friendly and and helpful, rates are good compared to others nearby. Recommend!

The manager, Sandy is very kind and accommodating. We stayed for a few nights and enjoyed our stay.

We didn't book a room anywhere. So they were helpful in getting us a dog friendly room and a great price. Think it was their emergency room because floor was stain (dog room/smoking room, understanding), shower was dirty, no ac which sucked.
But we were in a pinch, they were friendly and helpful and got us a room! For that we are thankful!

Great service decent rates upgraded beds and comfortable surroundings. Only thing I reccomend is improve your internet services. Nowadays the internet is a necessity.

If we could leave less than 1 star I would. I'm having a hard time seeing the rating as 3/5. We stayed here months ago and I will never forget it. The smell was awful, it was so so awful. I can still taste how bad it smells. I felt terrible letting my kids sleep here. We were charged $160 for the night. One Hundred and Sixty dollars for the most disgusting/dirty/dilapidated room I couldve imagined. The fact that they took that much from us and every other poor soul that has stayed here and havent put it into the motel for upgrades or even proper cleaning is disgraceful.
We tell friends and family about the night we stayed at the big horn as a monumental F around and a comparison to other peoples hotel nightmares.

Pulled in late at night. Confirmed several times that there was Internet as I was late getting through Canada and had work to do. I was on a deadline. I never could get the Internet to work and the manager had turned off her phone and wouldn't answer the front bell. It cost me a fortune in International data as I had to use my phone as a mobile hot spot. Internet and the deadline was the only reason I stopped and I could never get it to work. The room smelled horrible and the heat kept running all night. The thermostat on the wall was broken, there was no way to turn it off. I was stuck in a smelly, internetless sauna.

Only giving a one star as that is just for the bed! Although we were told it is queen size it isn't but thankfully was comfortable! We were also told it was a smoke free room but the stench of cigarettes got me at the door. So thankfully between benadryl and Tylenol I made it through the night. The bathroom ceiling stipple is coming off, the chair looks like it's been through hell and back! Do not recommend this place at all. And the cost of it was through the roof. If it wasn't for being so late when we got in, I would have demanded our money back! Disgusting! And there is no air conditioning but thankfully there were fans. Now waking up with a horrible headache! Bring on more Tylenol! Thank god this was the last night of our holiday!

My husband and I broke down in Hinton and ended up stuck for a few days so we stayed at the Big Horn Motel, the room was filthy. The line of dirt under the heaters at the edge of the room must've been half an inch thick. The heating didn't work and even when we requested a heater (in -40!) the owner took over 3 hours to bring us one. She was extremely rude to myself whilst being over friendly, to the point of flirtatious with my husband directly infront of me.
When we turned the lights off to sleep bugs emerged from every crack in the walls, floors and skirting boards and where absolutely everywhere which was disgusting. The maid let herself into our room the next morning without knocking or announcing herself in any way, while we were still in bed! There was no WiFi either despite it being advertised and us being told by the owner, Sandy, that it worked. I've only given this place one star to be able to review it, in all honesty I'd give it zero. I would never stay here again and would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Avoid at all costs.
