Smoky brisket, spicy catfish, and decadent cheesecake!

While in Calgary we stopped by this restaurant to enjoy some BBQ. Located among the rows of hotels in the university area. Dinner was a delightful experience thanks to our host who was efficient and friendly.

We enjoyed their smoked brisket dinner - 1/2 lb slow smoked beef brisket, and blackened catfish (Spicy) with corn on the cob, cornbread and mac and cheese.

The mac and cheese was more saucy than creamy, the roux lacked that delicious flavor I hoped for but still edible.

I like to determine a good BBQ when the meat needs no sauce to accompany it. While the brisket was moist, tender and smoked a little more seasoning would have done the trick. However with the BBQ sauce it was a great combination.

The cornbread was crumbly and ended up being more on the drier side.

The catfish was amazing! It was seasoned and fresh. Superb!

The cheesecake, decadent and smoky. Definitely worth ordering.

The overall service was fantastic and food was brought out in a timely manner.

We got a platter, not the Elvis. The one smaller. Fed all four of us (2 kids 2 adults) and enough leftovers for the next night. The meat was succulent and delicious. Ribs were my absolute fav. Ooh and the sausage. Ooh and the coleslaw! The hostess was super friendly. This was our first time here, but it most definitely won't be our last!

Fast but attentive service for a high-rush time of night, and the most delicious chicken burger i've ever had. My server Noelle was very sweet and attentive and made great wine recommendations!

Okay, I'm the USA where I should really know good food and QUALITY, taste and especially Customer service. Don't forget portion size!
This IS the first Restaurant in this area of Alberta that meets all these and hand made too!

Some Restaurants in the States do not come close. My burger was a THICK burger with smoked pulled pork on top! Oh man.talk about Delicious and the Cole slaw was one you've never had before! Guaranteed, unless you've been here before!
If you don't like coleslaw, you'll LOVE this one! WOW!
The only thing you should know is when you do get a choice for a "side order", if you want mashed potatoes and gravy, those are 2 SEPARATE items.
So, depending on what you order, you get a choice of 1 or 2 side orders and there's many sides on the list!
Example: If you have 1 side order to choose from and you want mashed potatoes and want gravy, that will cost you an extra $3 for a thin layer of gravy.
But, if your order is for 2 sides then masked potatoes and gravy would be your 2 sides.
Unless you skip the gravy and order just potatoes and something else.
Or.you pay $3 for gravy. If that makes sense?

I would say it's worth the extra $3 but it is only a thin layer of gravy and I'll post pics.
Do not let the gravy discourage you. "Good Gravy"! Life isn't worth that! But, thought you'd like to know as that seems to be something that can be confusing because after all, potatoes naturally typically come with gravy.

So, go, enjoy your time.you won't be disappointed, especially from a girl who was born & raised in the USA where we truly know a good place when we've been there!

2 more things: You get a bucket of tasting the different sauces and they are a perfect blend.
2nd thing, the pumpkin cheesecake is really good, not from a box! So, I bet Thanksgiving meal would be Awesome!

Overall, this restaurant is average. Doesn't change much in decor. Lunch and dinner specials are redundant. Best use would be to bring in the out-of-towners/guests. Great for large parties and sharing.

Came here with a group of 4 and got the big T’s platter which was a ton of food, could’ve fed at least 5 people. It came with tons of fries and a big basket of cornbread.

Brisket was tender but not that flavourful, I suppose you could put the bbq sauce on it. The mild bbq sauce is the best one, spicy sauce was a little too sour. We got the regular coleslaw instead of the spicy slaw, which was a good choice. It was a vinegar style slaw not a mayo style slaw, very refreshing against the meat. Everything else was very good, I wouldn’t say mind blowing amazing but for Calgary, definitely one of the best bbq spots I’ve had in the city.

Absolutely amazing food. Brisket was juicy, ribs were tender, and the spicy coleslaw is a knockout.

We had a fantastic meal and the service was amazing. We had the big tea platter and it was so much food and so delicious. What a wonderful experience.

I was in the area with my mother and sister and we decided to go for an early dinner. We looked up decently rated restaurants nearby and we opted to try out Big Ts. We got a warm greeting as soon as we entered and they helped us to a table that would accommodate my mother’s wheelchair. It was our first time here, so we ordered the Big T platter so we could try a little bit of everything and expected that we’d just take home the leftovers (wayyyy more than we anticipated). We don’t typically go out for BBQ and this was a great experience.

I've deducted 1 star because I didn't much care for the smoke on the red meat. I've had smoked meat plenty of times before and it was great. But the smoke on the red meat (specifically the rib ends and brisket) tasted dirty and was unpleasant. I'm not a BBQ connoisseur so maybe that's just my uncultured palette, but I didn't like it.

The parking and dining room were wheelchair accessible, the food was mostly tasty, the prices were reasonable, the portions were generous, the restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was excellent. Special shoutout to Jallé who was friendly, adept, and just all-around delightful.

Overall our experience definitely left us keen to go back and try some other items on the menu.

Jalle was great! Our group regularly orders the biggest meat platters at multiple different restaurants, this was the first time we actually enjoyed the chicken (along with the other meats)! Will definitely come back for the chicken bbq here.

Went on a Tues night for my birthday. Welcomed by very friendly staff. Deep fried pickles, fried green tomatoes and my margaritas were the best part aside from the tender juicy brisket. Definitely going back! Bathroom was very clean so extra points for that

Had previously ordered brisket here for a pot luck BBQ and it was a very popular item. This time the brisket was lacking flavour and was too dry. This was commented on by many of the guests how it was disappointing compared to the previous time.

The food was delicious and our server, Alicia, was so friendly and professional. This is now our new favourite spot to dine in.

The best BBQ in town. Hands down! Everything is made from scratch, in-house! Cornbread is to die for. Meatloaf will blow you away and every single side is a home run! I’ve found my new go-to in Calgary and will be back time and time again! Big T’s is the real deal and I cannot recommend it enough. Go tomorrow, go now!

My wife and I went out for dinner. Had an amazing server Kemlyn. He was on top of everything and never missed a beat. Food was great. The vibes were awesome. If you want some amazing food with awesome service go to BigTs and ask for Kemlyn. You won’t regret it!

Went out for dinner with my Wife the other night. Had a new Server by the name of Kemlyn he was amazing. He was very professional and memorable. Will definitely be coming back and asking for him.

The place is clean and the staff were very friendly and the food came out quick.

Like many people, my group went because of the feature on "You Gotta Eat Here", with that hype came more expectation for the food.

I had "The Gutbuster" because it was featured on the show and highlighted on the menu. Gave a good opportunity to try multiple menu items in one sandwich. It wasn't a bad sandwich, but felt like it was missing something and is quite a pain to eat. Potatoes were ok and the spicy coleslaw was pretty good.

Other person in the group had the meatloaf steak type thing also featured in the show and thought it was good.

The bigger issue was with the two people that had two different styles of ribs. My wife's entire plate came out cold, including the ribs. Along with the other person's ribs.

Maybe it is just an issue with this location or just the day we were there, but with all of the good food options in Calgary, I will be opting for trying other places rather than returning.

My friends and I never been here before. We ordered the Big T platter. The dies were great, chicken, pulled pork, brisket pork rib ends, back ribs were delicious. Coleslaw was great the baked beans a little sweet, but good also. I was thoroughly satisfied by the food and service. We sat outside in the patio area was nice.
