Bissell Centre

They have been having classes where you go attend for money and for doing job searching; however, they fail to give us proper jobs. They do not care whether or not that they find you a garbage job or a baby sitting job. This is the reason why that this program is coming to an end. Because they know that they failed to help with the right intentions, not a single person that I know who attended those classes actually has a job. What a joke!

I had a housing appointment set up to meet in person and I came in that day and they admitted to me in person they did not pass the message to the housing worker to meet me.all they do is sit around and gossip about people and lie to them and steal our bus tickets and clothing and food and they tell us there waiting for donations when they got a room full of donations.they will lie to make themselves look professional.they steal people's personal Information and use it against them and they will sit behind office desk lying.fake service and fake energy at this office.do not trust this service

Helped me find a home, but Felecia has been stalking and harrassing me ever since with the help of the suite above me.
I was transferred to Pathways to Housing eventually who actively worked against me to allow Felecia and others to stalk and harrass me. I have been trying to escape Pathways to housing since May and they had my landlord change my lease to expire January 1st and when they couldnt find a way to get me evicted, I was served a Lease Non Renewal "for not communicating with Pathways". Bissell and Pathways have clients sign an "Information Non Disclosure Agreement " under false pretenses that it is to allow them to contact EPS, AHS, landlord, or family in case of emergency so they can help you. The only thing they did was violate privacy laws to discredit me and have my rights violated by not getting help from police or fair medical treatment. They preemptively discredited me with the diagnosis of being delusional which was based on Bissell employee opinions, and it has prevented me from getting help. Bissell and Pathways blacklisted me from every affordable property management company in the city, and from community supports because I wont stop seeking help stopping Felecia and a group of Bissell, Pathways affiliates such as the suite above me from harrassing me. They have set me up to die in the cold.
All facts. Proof has been provided, but alot has been destroyed while I am away from home for meetings with Bissell then Pathways.
Police have refused to acknowledge anything I say or look at any evidence because they are all police that work directly with these companies.
Every single person I am aware of that has signed up with the housing program is dead or missing.
You don't have to believe me, just ask around.

Alicia is not very professional, she makes an appointment with a person who needed help and then takes the day off then she decides to text message a home phone number. A home phone number does not take messages! She has a set of lungs and a a mouth use that to leave a voice message. She is useless and is only there for a pay check not to help the people who need help!

Sad to see many homeless people but I'm glad The Bissell centre's helps them out

Hahahaha I get it, it's all lies, hypocrisy, or postponing for months. The story of these institutions is strange, all the phone numbers are forged, and the answer to the email is represented by madness or not answering, hahahahahahaha, ridiculous and very funny. You don't even deserve one star. I know that these words and reviews do not concern you, but why? If you are not ashamed, you will do whatever you want

It's a drop in center. Free laundry that you have to put your name on a list. Free showers, lunch and all day coffee and water. They also have a clothing day at 1 pm. The hours are 9 am - 4 pm

I was "pre-screened" for a work program (they gathered all my very personal information), and never contacted again. These organizations do not exist to help the poor, they exist to exploit the poor.

I've never reached out to the Bissel Center for anything before, until recently. I'm not mentioning names for legal reasons, but they turned me away; before even asking for and reviewing any supporting documents. Not a great experience. Never again will I reach out to these guys!

Love the staff! The most loving and caring staff that I have ever had the chance to work with and get to know.
And I will forever hold a place in my heart for what the staff have done for me personally.

The drop in daycare is an amazing program. I’m so fortunate that my baby goes there so I’m able to finish school, she’s so happy to go there and is always napping good when I pick her up. Their diaper and formula program however isn’t worth the drive if you don’t live in the area. I live west and drove to the daycare centre downtown, only once I got there they told me that the thrift shop doesn’t have dairy free formula. I wouldn’t have picked up the voucher if I knew this because the cost of the gas to drive to the daycare and then to the thrift shop and then back home equaled out to cost more than the diapers I was given, and the formula is actually what I really needed. Family support workers need to stay in contact with the families they are supporting during situations like this, because as I said, I never would’ve went to pick up the voucher had I known that the Bissell thrift shop didn’t have dairy free formula for my baby because of the cost of gas to drive to the daycare and then to the Bissell thrift shop and then back home. It cost more today to pick up these diapers than if I had bought my own pack. The support worker also told me I’m able to get a prescription for her formula covered by the government, but only Neocate is covered, and there’s a monthly fee plus it’s still 25$/can which would cost more than just purchasing nutramigen at the store.

Gave some false information regarding some tenants rights. A person better off going online and doing their own search for tenants rights.

I know that they cannot help with any jobsupport like subsidized wage employment except to promote some their staff: they only can support for casual work for cash that cannot help to change people's lives. Definitely, they can support you with tickets and safety stuff; however, thay can promise a lot

Very bad and not much helpful place to get the support which is necessary to living.as my own experience is I've been contact with them for work training program and my consular his name's Alex and I've been go through the process and getting done three of the interviewing process but at the end they told me that I'm not qualified or can't being get any kind of support from them I highly recommend people's not to going this place for a community support service

It's the only place in the world at the moment that still mandates use of masks and entry control!

The staff at the Bissell are very nice and helpful. At the Bissell they welcome you and the programs the have are very good I've felt like one of the family here and I really recommend the Bissell center to everyone and give it a 5 star rating
