I took the weekend long coffee table workshop with Brad and Dylan. They are fantastic instructors and the shop is a comfortable, well equipped place to work. Brad started with a short bit on selecting wood - each participant picks their own raw wood from the store. The two instructors then lead you through a step by step process of cutting, jointing, planning and sanding. Every step is supervised and is safe as can be made safe in a workshop. The accuracy standard is very tight and the final product is beautiful. Suitable for beginners, although some prior experience with power tools is helpful.

Cool store. Great classes. Lots of handy stuff for woodcraft of all kinds, plus a wide variety of exotics, pen blanks, knife scales, and carving blocks.

There are not enough positive words to describe how pleased we are with our new front door made by Black Forest Wood. Everything from the selection process to the installation was amazing. The new door is beautiful and heavy.

The crew who did the install were professional, polite and cleaned up as they went through the installation. I have never seen such a clean worksite in my life! I can honestly say, we have the best looking door in the street. Every time we pass by the front door now, we stop and stare at it. Wow!

I purchased the ceramic coating after consulting with the employee and was assured it would work. Long story short, it ruined the finish on my table. I had to call and email the staff for 5 weeks all to find out that they can't do anything for me. I would not reccomend the retail side of the business to anyone. Waste of $200.

Very bad experience with an online order. Poor customer service but the worst part was them being dishonest about it. Will take my business elsewhere in the future.

I purchased the white oak top and some rough black walnut for the legs. This table has been over 5 years in the making and today it was moved indoors and assembled. I'm very happy with the final product. Thanks for all the help along the way. The finish is Rubio monocoat topped with a tinted glass that's been in layed flush to the top.

Loved the coffee table weekend course. Not only did it expand my skills, but it was a very inclusive space and inspiring teachers to learn wood working basics. Will defiantly take future courses!

I just recently completed the first resin coffee table workshop put on by Black Forest. The course, instruction, and facility was all top notch. During the three day I interacted with several employees of Black Forest and they were all very helpful and friendly. Thank you.

I wasn't going to write this review but here I am, as a hvac-r contractor I am well versed in sales and assisting my customers with their projects and helping in their decisions. I walked in here with a simple idea in mind, a nice hardwood workbench for my garage I am renovating. Roughly 10ft by 2ft. I needed a bit of help spending a considerable amount of money and them to cut the wood for me as I am just getting started with a new shop. I was given a tape measure and told to pick out the boards from one staff member, then I asked another for a quote and it was mind boglingly confusing and didn't seem like either of them wanted my business. I ended up going to another supplier and they were more than happy to assist me and dropped what they were doing to help me. If ownership sees this I was in at 11am Thursday. Two stars because they do have some nice product, shame about the customer service and sales skills.

Great selection of unique hardwoods from around the world sold mainly by the board foot. Some are pricy but that may be because of the origin.

My husband bought me a gift certificate for a class at Black Forest Wood Co. It has been a dream of mine to learn about woodworking and as an artist, build a piece of furniture. Brad and his son, delivered 1,000 %. There was a plan for the coffee table design and they taught us and guided us through each step of the design, from rough wood to a solid wood cherry table! I also want to mention they were very careful to teach us safety measures for each machine as well. As a first timer, using some of the machines, it can be intimidating, but not after we learned how to use them safely! I'll go back for other classes!
