Blackbird Public Urban Bar

I like the feel into the bar, but not an place I'd definitely recommend for awkward autistic like myself Tough atmosphere that's great for character building and if you hear people calling ya names, don't bother with it and simply enjoy yourselves with a smile. More of a place I recommend with groups than single, but enjoyed the experience and will be giving some recommendation to the Rumble Teams. Otherwise, come and enjoy. Want no special treatment next time I'm there, no autistic with brain damage does. Take care

Entering was great. I wish all the waitresses with very long hair would have their hair tied back not dangling in my food and drink!

Surprisingly but we’ve got the message that if you didn’t pay 20% tips - the waitress has to pay to the bar from her own pocket. Night was over, we decided not to sit at the venue with that kind of attitude to their employees

My oh my.what a treat. Me and my wife went here for wings and had a blast. All kinds of people from all walks of life.eating in harmony. The service was exceptional and the wings came out abnormally fast. You barely even thought about what flavour you wanted and then before you knew it they were sitting in front of you. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because they don’t have creamy dill as a flavour and my rotten wife is obsessed with creamy dill. I tried mixing some ranch with their existing dill pickle dry spice. To no avail. She was not impressed with my attempt. Let me say this. If the chefs and owners and stakeholders involved in the blackbird can get together and add a creamy dill option to their wing flavours then my wife would A) love me again & B) come with me every Wednesday

Super disappointed with this pub. Tried to come here on multiple occasions for buck a shuck night (first time at 7: 30 pm, second time at 6: 30 pm, and another time at 6 pm) all to be told they were sold out each time and to come here before 6 or 7 pm as they sell out quickly. What's the point of advertising on their website and menu cards that the offer is 4 pm to CLOSE if you're going to sell out even before 6 pm? It doesn't give anyone a chance to grab any if they aren't there by 5 pm basically. Spoke to others around us and they said the same thing, they never get oysters unless they come right at 4 pm.

The place is great The deals are amazing, always great service. Been in other bars in the area, but blackbird is my favorite

Nice spot to get a drink with friends. It's pub food so nothing world moving but all the bases are covered and everyone should be able to find something to eat there.

Cleanly and service was good too.

Definitely liked the look of the bar. Great TV’s for watching sports. Bartenders were attentive. Only issue we had was how long the food took to come, and the pizza was oddly soggy for pizza. It wasn’t fully cut into slices, and the crust was so soft, and the pizza slices just flopped. Not sure if this is how it always is or if it was undercooked that night, but may not get it again. Spinach dip was good. I may go back again just to try a few other things and see how long the food takes before I make a real decision on how I feel about it.

Food was really good and a good selection of beer. It was full when we got there but got a text when a table was free. It was a bit louder than I like, but kind of the nature of a pub like this.

Don't go to this place. The wings were extremely dry or too saucy, the nachos tasted good.until I went home. I got super bad food poisoning that kept me 3 days away from work puking my guts out and straight water diarrhea every half hour. That alone will ensure I never come here again.

The servers were great though.

A well attended restaurant, but the service was very slow.
The food was average. Tuesday is taco day. The promo says $2.50 each, with a three minimum. When I tried to order four tacos, I was told that it is in groups of 3 and extras were $3 each. This is not what was advertised!
We tried Blackbird twice-first time was good; this time was bad. I guess it was okay on average.

The most dissapointing mini donuts and taquitos I have ever had in my life.
When the costco reheatable taquitos have more flavor than what you serve, you may have a problem.
Soggy flower pitas with pulled chicken in them should not tote the name.
Mini donuts that are harder than understanding the prices that are charged.
French fries, the simplist of the things I ordered also tasted reminicent of the Mckaine reheatable fries from my middle school cafeteria.

I've eaten there several times. It's a good place to get something to eat or have a drink. Noisy bar atmosphere at night, the food is good, the prices are reasonable and the staff is great!

You’re getting 5 stars from me! I was a solo diner and my service wasn’t that good. At all. But the food made up for it enough for a 15% tip! Delicious wing nights!

The food was very over priced for what we got, I was quite underwhelmed. I ordered the fish and chips and it was one small piece of fish, decent french fries, and a very mayo forward coleslaw. It was ok, but I've had much better for less. My friend had the mac and cheese and it looked gross, like it was a soupy wet mess in a cast iron pan. I tried some and it was very bland.
In general there wasn't much on the menu that appealed to me which is too bad.

The service was really good though which is why I give it an extra star, my glass was never empty and it was a busy place so props to our waitress. Although they didn't ask how it was tasting either.
Also the faucet in the women's bathroom was boiling hot and I almost burnt myself.

We won't be back sadly.

Game night. Awesome. Flames are great, but seriously turn the TVs down. Having commercials blare over everything makes it impossible to have a conversation with your friends. Has the managementnever been to another sports bar? You don't need to have the volume cranked. No one else does that. It is awful. I've been coming here since it opened and this is hands down the least enjoyable time I've ever had.

Decent meal, beer selection had lots of local beer. Server was attentive and helpful.

The only knock was the salad was heavily over dressed and the little bread with it was unnecessary and bland. But otherwise it was a good meal.

Always a good watering hole. Glad it's not far away because we often find our way in for good food with good friends. Bonus of a little ice cream shop accross the path on your way out.

Hi gang,
You need to have it more clearly stated on the main door that you don't allow minors. You also need to have this on your website on the KIDS menu. Whne parents look for a nice place to go, they'll check for a kids menu. This usually means, kids are allowed.
When we arrived the bartender saw us, our son, and said, "Take a seat wherever you like".
Then a server had to tell us they don't allow kids. This isn't fair to them, or us.
It is listed on your side window of the main door. I found this upon leaving) But it isn't in clear sight! This is a change that needs to be made for future families.

Nice place, no complaints. I didn't eat so can't comment on their food. The Bud Light was as good as anywhere else though!

Excellent experience. The food was great, atmosphere was amazing! Only thing and it is so minor, I felt bad for ourerver she was alone with a pretty full house so tables weren't getting cleared and our food took longer than it should have. I don't blame the server though.

This place used to be great but the last 3 times I’ve ordered they have messed up my takeout order. When I called to let them know, they did not even offer to comp the meal. Their quality of food has really gone downhill in the last year

Food was cold. Took over an hour to get it. When I paid the tab and the waitress asked how everything was I let her know food was subpar and service was slow. She didn't think to apologize. Its amazing what an acknowledgement of poor service and food can do. Wasnt looking for anything free. Just trying to provide some feedback. Will definitely share my experience with anyone who asks.

They were very busy so I'll try to appreciate that. Food was decent but cold. Assumed it sat waiting to be delivered to the table. And service was slow. Again assuming cause they were busy. Not sure I'd go back if I'm being honest.

The waiting time 0 was very long to get our order, the burger was hard anjwalmost burn, the Philly cheese with no cheese! The restaurant was busy and they only have one bartender and 2 waitress for the whole place with around 14 tables in 1 hour in a half period

Anti Flames anti Canada, rather switch tv to American football in the middle of the game and refuse to put back on.disgusting disgrace to our City and our Calgary Flames. Had to pack up our food and leave to go elsewhere where the Flames are supported. I will never set foot in this place again, and if you support this City and our Flames, you shouldn't either. Total ignorant server and management did not do anything either.

If you like affordable oysters this is your place! Staff was good, I only dock some.points because there is a bit of confusion about the growlers here.

Usually one of my favourite places to go, but the service has been abysmal lately. Yesterday our server seemed more interested in having a conversation with their coworkers and someone from another section had to stop by to take care of us. Didn’t even get napkins for our appetizer, sat with empty drinks in front of us. Today, didn’t get acknowledged for long enough that we just got up and left (still without being noticed) and went to Tommyfield down the road.

With so many options within walking distance, likely won’t sit around waiting for so long there anymore.

Good service and we'd wing special is pretty good. Beer selection is 'meh'. At least they have a couple crafties on tap, although small glasses and pricey.

Good atmosphere, nice decor, reasonably attentive wait staff and 29c wings on Wednesdays, overall pretty great.

There was nothing wrong with the food as that was as delicious as always. The problem was the robotic server, Ceanna. She was not at all personable to the point of being rude. It is customary for the server to check to make sure everything is tasting good. She did do that but walked away before we could even answer. The cold shoulder. The entire service was like that, very robotic. That is the best way I can explain it. Said all the right things but was not waiting for any feedback or perhaps some polite conversation. She was just going to the motions. In short she is doing this business a disservice with this rude complacent attitude. A pity because we live very close to this business and would like to support it but with type of service, we are not sure. The next visit will set the tone.

This was my first time at Blackbird, and certainly not my last. Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining. I had the Philly cheesesteak which was above average and shared nachos with a friend. The nachos were delicious with some added chicken and guacamole on the side. Beers were cold and refreshing. I will return. Thanks to the team at Blackbird!

Unfortunately I am quite upset with the quality of food. I love this restaurant, their food is absolutely amazing. However tonight when we ordered from the restaurant as take out. Our steak frits came raw. We actually had to sear them to be able to bite through them as they were so chewy and bleeding… I really hope this is once in a blue moon, because this restaurant has been one of my favorites.

Valentina was an amazing server! Thank you so much for all your hospitality. If you come here definitely ask for her, she was absolutely wonderful.
The food was also super good, and overall an amazing experience!

Wonderful pub. Helpful and friendly staff. Great food. Wide selection of beers on tap. Right number of TVs showing different sporting events. Definitely will return.

We really like this pub, the service is always great and the food is tasty. Love the decor!
It'd be nice if they changed their menu a little for more variety but other than that it's the best neighborhood pub I have ever been to.

Used to be an awesome place to grab good food and get great service but as of late the food has gone down hill quite a bit!

Today we walked in and went to find a table and then the waitress basically told us to leave since there is apparently a waiting list.

Delicious food, steak bites are amazing! Service was a little slow today, but I know there are staffing shortages right now so I totally understand!

Excellent take-out, Manager Ryan personally delivered our order to our residence after there was an unfortunate mixup between two Uber Eats orders!

Great food, ambience and service! And the daily specials are amazing taste wise and price wise. A great place to take out of town guests or to just escape from the routine! Highly recommend.

Nice selection of food and drinks and overall good place to have a few beers at. Only slightly annoying thing is some servers keep coming back every 10 sec to ask if you still doing ok. Could be very annoying when you trying to have a conversation just to be interrupted.

Great pub, delicious wings on a wing night. Lots of different flavors. Nice happy hour menu. Can be busy but it is worth it. The atmosphere is also very nice. Been there twice already. Will be back

It’s a nice spot to go. I have been pretty happy with my visits there and usually happy with the service and the food.

However, last time we were there, they had forgotten to put in our appetizer order, so our dinners came before the appetizer. I am pretty sure our server had forgotten to put the order in. Which didn’t impress us. And my chicken burger was not very tasty. I hope it was a one off.

The food is fairly decent, great portions too.

Outstanding Taco Salad and Wrasberry beer today! Always a pleasure. Staff is always super happy and on point.

Used to be a lock. Last couple of times were hit or miss. Maybe the large group being served had an effect on one occasion.

This is our favourite place! Service is top notch; friendly and fast and they genuinely care about their customers.

Good food, the service is very hit or miss and the drinks are pretty expensive. They could also use a better drink selection and some better table menus.

Both my wife and I as well as my work colleagues love going to the BB and when Kirsten is our server it makes it even more of a pleasure.

Had a lovely brunch! The Brunch Box is seriously delicious and the caesar was super yummy too! Great adult only brunch spot!

Really nice place. It was pretty busy but it's not a huge bar, so it wasn't too noisy. The food was great and the beer was cold! No complaints here whatsoever.

Love the bar and atmosphere but their Moscow Mule cups are plastic painted copper. Wown wown #firstworldproblems

They have a separate deep fryer for folks with a gluten free diet, which is appreciated (especially on wing night!).

The Blackbird is a "Hang out bar" my buddies and I stumbled on while waiting for our movie on a Tuesday night. There was a Taco Tuesday Special for $2.50 / Taco. It was Gooooood. The decent sized Beer selection washed all the Tacos down nicely. I assumed all the food would be good given the food we ordered and by what we could see by our neighboring booths. The Bar looked very new and was very clean. It featured many Large Screen TVs to satisfy any Sporting Events showcased. There are nicely sized Booths for private groups, bar seating, and tons of tables and chairs. The service was excellent and very attentive. The kitchen was a bit slow at getting the food out though.so I would budget extra time if you are going to grab a bite there.

Great food daughter had the fried chicken my husband and I had the blackbird burger. Very nice place and great service

Hubby came here with the guys for their Bored Meeting and said I had to try it. We drove from the NE and it was well worth the drive. Food was fabulous and priced appropriately for what you got. Service was phenomenal. Thanks Kirsten you did a great job.

From the outside you don't really know what to expect and you don't even hear anything, but once you get inside the place is huge and loud. But the place must be very well insulated because outside you cannot hear anything. They have great promos like 50% less on wine bottles on Thursdays and $1 oysters. They have tons of servers and they are quite nice.

Nice patio, friendly staff, and wings night! The rest of the food is pretty darn good too. Did I mention, nice patio?:)

My wife daughter and her partner and myself went there last night for wings, it was busy but we got a table straight away, the service was very good and the food was excellent, we had a very good night and the prices were very good. As we live in the area this is a good place to go.

Staff are always courteous and management ensures your enjoying your food and beverages. Been going here since it opened and enjoy the atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Thanks!

Great food and service every time I go! One of my favourite places to hang out in the neighbourhood. Thursday's are the best with half price wine and $1 oysters!

Consistently delicious and creative food, atmosphere is casual and kept very clean, staff are always friendly as well as accommodating. I'd highly recommend checking it out. Try the new feature menu! It's dynamite!
