Blackfalds Medical Clinic - We No Longer Accept New Patients.

Kemp has been my family doctor since the clinic opened…. Today is December 29,2023 have not seen him for 7 years, called to book an appointment was advised that Kemp only keeps regular patients and it has been too long since I’ve seen him, so I’m now no longer his patient. Guess Kemp doesn’t want patients like me.

Just got kicked out of being a patient from here because I didn't have time to book a follow up appointment with him when he asked. Did it a week later and was told I'm not following his instructions and to take my issues to a different walk in clinic. Have been going there for over 12 years and now I have to start over with a different doctor on a different town. Extremely unprofessional.

We had an injury that needed a wound cleaned and dressed. They came to the door, because it was locked and they don’t let people in without an appointment…. And we said can we please just have this taken care of and the made us go back to our car, call the person we were just talking to and book an appointment. When we called, they said because we haven’t been there for 2 years they won’t help us. Kemp should hire another doctor to accommodate the needs of the town or he simply shouldn’t be in business. We ended up going to pharmasave and they helped extremely well.

Went in today for my appointment that I booked. Got my Prescription and then was told that he's closing my file and to find a new doctor. I've been going there for 6 years.

The best, most understanding doctor I've ever seen. I've been seeing him for 11yrs now and I have have no complaints. Nobody is perfect and even doctors can make mistakes. I was misdiagnosed once and ended up in emergency but it could have happened to anyone. I would never judge someone by one error. He is phenomenal and human. That's what I really like about him. His nurses are exceptional. Thank you for everything you have all done for me.

I showed up for my booked appointment today just to be told that Dr Kemp had closed my file. Didn't tell me just decided to close it I have now been without my prescription (that I need to take daily) for 3 weeks and with Covid I'm not even sure where to go. What a joke.

Have nothing but respect for Dr. Kemp! Helped me many times. Not just a good Doctor, but also a very wise man. My last problem, he wrote me a prescription for a You tube neck stretches sites, and it worked perfectly.
Pinched nerve fixed! A real treasure house of wisdom and good advice, if you are willing to listen.

We were existing walkway in patients till today. Took our 12 year old son in and were told no more children. Basically our kids can not be seen anymore and they will close their files, but he will continue to see the parents.

Dan Steiger, we are sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with your treatment as contrary to your quackery comment Canadian Guidelines where followed. Unsure about the “greed comment” but if it implies that the physician get any financial gain from prescriptions we take this comment very serious as I can assure you that it is illegal to get any kickbacks from prescribing medication.

Frank Cyr, I am very sorry that you experienced this as a negative decision on our part, as all our other patients with whom this was discussed so far agreed and appreciated it as a positive decision. You stated that you do have a family physician, therefore it is our decision that a child under 18 must be seen by their family physician who has a full medical history, growth chart etc.on file for the child. To provide your child with the best medical care he/she deserves the decision was made that your family physician provides the best care and not to divide care between physicians. Dr Kemp will strive to provide the same care for his young patients in his family physician practice. I hope you will understand that this decision was made with the best intentions because we care.

They advertise "WALK IN CLINIC" but when you arrive they inform you they do not accept walk ins.when not feeling well it is very annoying to waste 20-30 min for nothing.

This is the absolute worst doctor I have ever met. Today I took my 9 month old to see him for an ear infection (he doesn't believe in ear infection and thinks it's just the throat that is the problem or nose). Before I went in I called the pharmacist to see what meds to get so he doesn't go yellow like his brother did as a baby. The wait time was 1.5 hour and it was not busy. When we got in he looked at his ears and said it was a little red and looked at his nose not not that well he didn't look at his throat. He said that it was because his throat and that he suggested that I put ear drop in that help with the pain and that all I could do was pray.  

When I took my oldest in for an ear infection he said it was his nose. But when I went to the pharmacist he said he did prescribed antibiotics which would be for his ear. When we went for a check up to see if it was working he sent us to emergency and said someone would be waiting there for us. He thought he was having kidney problems because he was a bit yellow. He was yellow from the medication that he put him on.the doctor in emergency said that he put them on the wrong medication that he should have put them on this other one first.  

So today from just before 10: 30 till now 3: 07 I have been running around blackfalds and lacombe waiting to help my 9 month old. If you have all day to just be told he can do anything this is the doctor you want to waste time with.

If 0 stars were possible this is what this clinic would get. I was just in there asking for a birth control refill and the doctor told me no. I have gotten it for years, with no complications. So if you want your kids to be safe from pregnancy go somewhere else.

Dr Kemp has been so helpful and caring while treating me. He cares about his patients. This walk in is for existing patients only. Be there early (like 830am) or before to get in first. Dr Kemp takes his time with patients which is unheard of around central Alberta. Wait times vary. Overall Dr Kemp is great!

Ridiculous. This is not a walk-in but a private practice have been turned away multiple times because they are not excepting new patients? What kind of walk-in rejects non regulars. Don’t waste your time go to Lacombe or Red Deer because you will NOT be seeing a doctor here unless you’ve been a patient for years. Waste of time.

Dr. Kemp is amazing! You can tell he truly cares and I appreciate the many years he has put into his practice. True, it is not a walk-in for new patients but it is for those who are already patients. It's a small clinic in a small town. Lacombe and Red Deer are still close enough if wait times are long and I do go to Red Deer periodically as well. Regardless, Dr. Kemp is my first choice.

When you gotta wait over 2 hours to see the dr is little redicilouse. People are sick and not feeling well they dont want to be sitting waiting. And receptionist is laughing and gabbing instead of getting people in and out. And after waiting two hours sent home saying get advill and u will get your swab results mon. This happened on tus so wait 6 days in pain

Not a walk-in clinic. Please change the name of the clinic to reflect that you do not accept walk in pateients
