We booked in my husband for his first ever beard trim - it was super easy to book online and very professional. Great rates! Camille did the beard trim and she was lovely! She did an excellent job and we would highly recommend Blakkloud to anyone!

Booked a hot shave as a treat before my wedding and it was amazing. Great service and great shave. Best part was that more than a couple people complemented the fresh line up so you know it was great work.

Went inside I was a little nervous never as I’ve never had short hair and wanted something different. And I’m beyond impressed, not only I have an incredible haircut that the person (i forgot his name but he started a week ago) who cut my hair was extremely nice and respectful and did a fantastic job.

I feel horrible I accidentally didn’t tip so I wanted to leave this review as a thank you and I love it.

Kate runs some pretty good shops. The cutting could be slightly higher quality, but overall I think I got a pretty decent hair cut. 4 stars for the price though. A men's cut should be $20, taxes in. That way, I can actually tip the barber directly 10-15 bucks. Ain't no one out here tryna tip on top of a 35 dollar hair cut bill!

I have being going here, on and off now, for probably 6 years now and never written a review. I thought I should, as mostly people vent, rather than compliment! I have been happy with everyone that has cut my hair over this period and never had a complaint! Recently it has been Kate (Owner) that cuts my hair. I always enjoy my Visit, as she is just lovely! I highly recommend a visit!

I was in Banff for a skiing holiday with my girlfriend and managed to get an absolute shocker of a hair cut. Luckily we went to Blakkloud and Welsh Kate managed to fix my hair and give me a lovey hair cut.

I came in as a Walk-In: Got a Hair and Beard done right away and had a great conversation.
When I was at home, I realized that I forgot to ask them to shave my pairing.
So I went back and the girls did it right away without an extra charging.
Customer service at it's best.
Super happy with the look of my hair and beard.

I had my hair done by Welsh Kate a couple of days ago. I took a picture of what I was looking for and Kate explained to me how we would get there. She was professional and friendly. So happy with the result. Kate is amazing! I would highly recommend her services.

After moving to Canada i was searching for a new hairdresser and i found Welsh Kate while she was still working in Canmore. I followed her when she returned to work in Banff and haven't looked back. Now that i live in Airdrie i still travel out to Banff to get my hair done by Welsh Kate. Kate is extremely accommodating to my schedule - offering to stay late or come in early. I started of with Kate in the beginning of 2018 with bright red hair, now i have moved on to a brown and who knows what my next appointment will bring. If you're looking for a great hairdresser, look no further than Welsh Kate:)

Asked for grey-blonde. I was very clear I didn't want any yellow. My hair is the opposite of what I asked for and the hairdresser was extremely rude and yelled at me to leave when I almost cried because of how yellow my hair is. Do not recommend.

The owner was not present, so that is a very inaccurate version of events. The hairdresser failed to explain it would not be possible prior and once she realized she couldn't do what I'd asked for, kept trying to accuse me of having color in my hair, which I knew for a fact, I did not. She did snap and yell at me for being upset with the results. The entire situation was handled extremely poorly. Accusing me of tormenting the staff couldn't be further from the truth, but it's obviously easier to blame me than to speak with your staff to avoid future incidents like this, isn't it?

I always come here for my haircuts- very affordable, they do a great local discount and the staff are awesome! I usually just get a fade with Katie and I am always happy!

My husband and son have had their hair done a few times now by Kate and she's just phenomenal! Great with my 5-year old, and the hair cuts are always well-blended and exactly what we ask for! She's also very accommodating schedule-wise!

The cut and colour were exactly what I wanted. Textured bob and blonde colouring, light on the ends. Kate Walsh did my hair and it looks fantastic! She really did a great job, better than what I was expecting. I am a local of 5 years now and only go to Blackloud and she is my stylist. Great customer service and listens to what you want with her honest input. I never leave Blackloud disappointed. Very very happy:) Thanks again Kate. I look and feel amazing!

I have a bit of hair loss from some health issues. Adrian was so understanding and cut my hair to make it look so much healthier. She showed me how to style my hair so hair loss wasn't obvious at no extra cost. Thanks so much

Went here last weekend for a haircut and hot shave, and received exceptional treatment. It was refreshing, being able to have a high-level conversation about politics and society; smart girl running this place! I didn't have an appointment, it was just a walk-in. I'll definitely be going here again next time in Banff!

Great service! The stylist Kate was right on point with what I wanted! Extremely friendly environment and so professional.

So disappointed! I went here yesterday ago to get a trim. Nothing special, even brought pictures of my last haircut as reference. I hate to say this, but I'm not happy at all! Katie, the stylist, was done within 15 minutes (including a quick wash, so really didn't take much time at all), cut way too short and just very unevenly altogether. I don't see any use in asking me how happy I am about the length afterwards, when there's no way to put my hair back on. Of course, I don't know about the other stylists, but from my experience, wouldn't recommend.

My groomsmen and I got the hot shave done before the wedding. Was a nice experience. They did a good job.
