The heated units are a farse. I visited Bluebird Storage this evening with the intention of renting a 10 by 20 ”HEATED” drive-up unit. Prior to my visit, I spoke with a gentleman from the office, and I was informed that the heated units were maintained at approximately 72 degrees Fahrenheit.

Unfortunately, my experience during the tour was disappointing. It was approximately -1 degrees Celsius at the time of my visit- and the so-called heated unit felt just as cold on the inside. Nowhere near room temperature and uncomfortably cold. When I asked if perhaps there was currently an issue with the heating, the office man was dismissive and said it was because the door was open…. We had just opened the door 8 seconds ago. This was clearly not the reason.

He told me to touch the ground, which I did- and then told him it was ice freakin’ cold…
“It’s heated ma’am, I’m not trying to convince you to rent” he said with a chuckle.

Not only was the tour a waste of my time, but the gentleman's cocky demeanour left me feeling some type of way.

If you're considering Bluebird Storage and searching for a heated space, I urge you to keep looking. The claim of warmth did not align with the reality of the freezing conditions inside.

Don’t rent here, and if you do, don’t believe a word that is said about cancellation when you sign up.

When I signed up, I was told: all you have to do is give 2 weeks notice to vacate and you will only have to pay for what you use.
Upon cancellation, I was denied a refund because according to them, I gave my “2-week-notice” two days after they wanted it. Which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, given that a) I was told upon signup all I had to do was give 2 week notice, and b) after giving 2 week notice (in writing), I had to give it again via phone as they said they didn’t get it (even though it existed in writing), and then again by phone days later (when they again said they didn’t have it in their system), and then finally in person when I was finally able to vacate the unit. During this time, they even managed to send me an invoice for a second unit that was already paid for, and with notice to vacate given in the same manner as above, and said “that’s just how our system works”.
This appears to be a trend given that the top review when I posted this one said basically the same thing given that the story told at sign up aligns with mine, and another customer complaining about the same thing when I went in to give my notice (for the 4th time).

And to top it all off, if you’re wondering why I would post this review on the internet instead of just sorting it out with the business, I tried that: once on the phone (advised that a manager would call back to discuss my concerns, never did), once on the phone to a different 1-800 number for bluebird (advised that an area manager would call back, never did), and then again in person at the unit asked for a manger call back, never came. I even asked for the contact info for whomever fields these types of issues and was told “’we don’t have their number”.

So don’t rent here. But if you do, budget to pay 1 month more than you actually use, even if their website says they “keep prices honest”, they just tell you whatever you want and ghost you later. And definitely don’t give them your credit card number, because they will just ignore your emails to cancel and send you invoices anyways.

Really good people easy to deal with and great facilities. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the location is not very easy to access at this point in time considering all the traffic delays construction in the area.

Great when getting the unit. Said a few times over the great thing about us is we charge for what you use. If you don't use the full month we don't charge for it. However they don't tell you if you pay the full month on the due date, and don't use the whole month, they DO NOT REFUND YOU! What a crock! Was so happy with them, now I just feel taken advantage of like every other salesman out there!

Increased my rating to 3 stars. They issued me a refund for the time I didn't use, due to a bad rating. Just keep in mind if you don't plan to use the full month, or if you think that you might not, don't pay the full month in advance.

Great facility. Very clean and well maintained. Service and communication was great. I definitely recommend them!

Very clean and easy to get to place. Friendly and helpful owners. We are using parking spot and a storage and we are happy with all the services.

Ruban & Mohit are amazing! So friendly & welcoming! The place is very clean. And a bonus its heated and has AC! I've never had to use storage before but I'm so happy I found this place! 10/10 would recommend!

This facility far exceeded my expectations. The place is well lit easy to get around in. I was able to get a 26 foot uhaul in and unload. We were warm as we unloaded the truck and secure. Ruban was very efficient and courteous. If I am in need of storage the facility on meridian st is where I will go to.

Moved from Hope, BC last week…this storage facility is a big savior!
The whole facility is very neat, well kept by a lovely couple, gave me and my wife a site tour, and I selected the outdoor drive-up unit, got it 50% for 2 mo, great convenience for the moving company guys lol.
Pricing is fairly reasonable for my250sq ft heated unit, and the best part, price is locked for 1yr.

Highly recommend Bluebird Self storage!

I'm very curious about the five star reviews, they seem interesting to me.
The onboarding was flakey, key code didn't work initially.
The automated emails are just busted.it's an extra level of non-professionalism to be greeted as "<Tenant. FirstNameGreet>" and have an important message from "<Site. Name>".
The invoicing was misleading, it implied I was overdue despite being signed up for auto-billing, only to find out I overpaid when I tried to correct a situation that was never a situation.
The hotel offer prominently advertised was not honored.
They fought prorating the remainder, I just gave up, they're not worth my time to fight more.
The elevators are poorly timed, heaven forbid you need more than a few seconds to load the elevator.
The lock hasps are slightly too small for good locks, meaning you can only use very low security locks. Don't store anything expensive with them.
First time with BlueBird, based on my experience I would not go with them again. I would definitely not choose this location. I am suspicious of the other five star reviews as they are from accounts with one or two other reviews.

The team at Blue bird are great. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to help me and the facility it’s brand new and clean. Will definitely be using them again when needed.

I had an amazing experience using them. I phoned with less then a days notice and they got me in.
I also arrived right before closing and they were more than happy to explain the process and get me in.
Will for sure use them for the future and recommend them to anyone who needs storage.

Did my research and decided moving into a newer, temperature control building was what I needed. I given a tour, when decided on a unit I was ready to book. On website it offered a discount 1/2 off first 3 month. Since I wasn't able to pay the entire 3 months (which was in fine print). The lovely couple were able to give me 1/2 off 1st month discount that would help me be able to move in the next day. Having to use my security code to enter the yard then again to enter the building. I appreciated the extra security as there are exterior units that can't access units inside. My unit was on the 4th floor but loved the fact we could drive through to the elevator to unload (it was hot and the building has a/c). There were a couple of platform trolleys readily available to use and the large elevator was efficient so it made it easy to load/unload into the unit.
When moving out my fee was prorated as I knew my move out day, I was billed accordingly which was awesome. Didn't have to pay full month and wait for them to refund me.
If your looking for a well run, very clean & secure place to store your valuables.

This is a great facility! The owners/staff were very friendly and the lockers are super clean and heated! And the whole facility is very clean and brand new! Would highly recommend!
