I had a good experience in Kensington Rd. BMO branch on Tuesday Oct. 3rd. The bank wasn't crowded but I am surprised why BMO banks suffer from the lack of staff in branches? ! All branches usually have lots of tills for customers but always you can see maximum 2 staff to service customers. It was wonderful for me today when I entered the Kensington BMO branch, The calendar sign on the wall was the 27th of September and didn't update and when I asked for the reason she just smiled and said "yes I know"! Anyway all staff had a good manner and faced politely with customers.
If you're a wheelchair user, don't waste your time coming to this Bank. The button to open the door will open it right into your wheelchair, and then it will close. If you bang on the window to get the attention of staff in the bank to indicate you want to come in, they simply look at you like you're homeless. On top of that, they don't answer the phone and don't return your calls.
My online banking is disabled for unknown reasons, I waited on hold for an hour and a half with BMO before giving up and driving half an hour to this branch. They told me they couldn't do anything and I'd have to try waiting on hold. Again. Only when I stated I want cancel my credit card did they say they would call and get it unlocked for me. On top of that, they gave me a new password that didn't work to unlock my account. Can't see transactions. Can't see my balance. Can't get through to anyone. And I'll add a previous time I came in to link my air miles I was pushed multiple times to get another credit card after saying no several times. He was still asking me as I was walking out the door. Don't go to BMO.
I'm not usually a fan of the big Canadian banks - to be honest, I have often received poor service and lots of rules that make no sense like the need to go into the branch for routine tasks, normal cheques requiring "certification" from issuers, old technology, and all sorts of rules. However, I needed to close my account that started to go into a negative balance because it rolled over into a BMO plus plan account (?). I called BMO and they sent a letter to the branch, but the account didn't close. I then had to call this branch and they reversed the charges and closed the account within ten minutes of me calling. Given what I see of the big banks, I was surprised by how fast and simple this process was.
Went in to cash a paycheque to my account and was told “I don’t feel comfortable cashing this for you. ” So tell me, what would I have to do to make you “comfortable” within the parameters of your job? I’ve banked with you guys for the better part of a decade and I’m truly disappointed.
The teller asked about a foreign cheque. € is not a British Pound. If you work at a bank you should be able to identify basic currency symbols. Give that job to someone who knows what they're doing.
Two employees at this branch are single handed responsible for 6800$ of fraudulent charges on my account.
I opened a new personal line of credit and had specifically asked the employee setting up this account if cheques would be sent out as I was moving and dint want them to be sent to the wrong address. The employee ensured me that cheques where never given out for these types of accounts (seemed wrong to me but I dont work there) 2 months later 4400$ had been removed using cheques. I went into the branch to talk with the employee and she recalled telling me no cheques were issued and stood behind this fact. She was very wrong cheques where issued to my previous address.
The remaining 2,400$ was taken out after a different employee informed me he froze my account and it would be looked into by the fraud department. Not even 24 hours later another cheue was cashed. I returned to the branch to be informed that that employee didn't have the clearance to actually freeze my account.
I was then informed that this would all be dealt with November 9th at the very latest, it is now the 17th and after calling customer service was given no update other than it is being dealt with and I should hear from them sometime this week.
Always Friendly staff and very helpful no matter what it is! Always takes their time and thoroughly explains everything! Much love and appreciation for this branch!
No matter what bmo bank I go people act like I should pay to be there. Just not welcoming and tried to kick me out with the panhandlers just be cause I'm brown. WOW talk about being judged. She was so rude even after I told her I didn't roll with Them
Poor customer service, they do not return calls, I've had multiple poor experiences in dealing with this branch. The BMO company in general is poorly run, with fragmented operations, with branches who do not speak with eachother. I have moved banks and will no longer be providing any business to this establishment or its organization.
