This facility is quite large. 3 visits to stampede and each time the finale is the artwork and wine bar/gourmet food offer in the middle with some for of country flavoured entertainment. Other rooms have shops to buy from from exotic food options. Clothing, hot tubs, makup/skin care etc. This is one thing we love to do as we miss the buildings at the EX in toronto that has similar options. Some events in the middle from mini-golf to some sort of horseback go cart type ride. Among the other events outside, there is quite a bit to do inside. Oh and try out the pineapple soft serve. It's like the dole whip at Disney world.
I don’t know if it was just the set up during stampede, but getting around this place is utterly confusing. For example trying to access the different halls wasn’t possible from the front entrance. It was required to go through what was set up as the market in order to access the dog show which was way at the back. That’s not very good lay out at all.
It never ceases to amaze me how Manu different things can be packed into each room of this center. This review us during 2022 stampede. Lots of artwork, food, music and gadgets and gizmos to buy. This is were we have the most fun looking at all the new toys, hot tubs, pineapple soft serve etc. Worth the couple hours touring the various booths.
Lots to see, would be nice if was organized under category so it would be easier to find what your looking for. Lots to see and most are very friendly. Depends on booth on weather its value is reasonable or not.
This is a big cconvention facility. I've been there many times. This latest for a craft market. The parking is a flat fee - $15. NOT COOL! For an hour or 2 at a craft market that is ridiculous!
We had a graduation celebration in that centre today, very nice center. But we had a horrible food, we spent $110 for the tickets had absolutely cold food with very limited and poor variety of food, only one choice of dessert. The meat was so raw, it was bleeding on my plate. (Not everyone likes rare) They definitely should have better selections and better cooks. Very disappointing.
Was a great facility to host the home show, we had 2 booths in there this year and setup and tear down was pretty seamless. Having the casino meet door made for nice lunch breaks too!
In my opinion, not enough booths with informations for people who wants to do something on their own. Lots of big companies that don't want to share info or to deal with one of the kind jobs. Extremely sales motivated. Five stars for overall appearance and organization, one star for my personal needs.
This has to be the most poorly managed exhibition and trade show venue in Alberta. Security treats the space like Fort Knox and the exhibitors like teenagers that need to be shooed off the property. Moving in or out of this place is an absolute nightmare.
Don’t bother coming to this market, there are MANY that are so much better organized. You buy a ticket online but still wait with those who did not because apparently they are incapable of having more than 1 person who can check vaccine passports. So you bunch everyone together (really smart) for 20-30 minutes to have the pleasure of being treated poorly by staff. The parking gates have 1 line as well. What a pathetic joke. The company you hired (Signature), are inccompetent, rude and ill-equipped to handle this, but I bet they were the cheapest. After the Stampede fiasco, I cannot believe you wouldn’t try harder to make this a success. What a terrible experience.
Terrible parking experiences with lady who collects parking fee changed her mind and tried to charge us $20 instead of $15 for in and out privilege. She became super rude when we asked why and made us u-turn out of the parking lot. Better find parking spot near the street.
The centre is an outstanding venue overall but somebody really blew it on garbage and recycling disposal. We were at Calgary Expo this past weekend. Great that all those food trucks were there. Huge long lines of people and ONE (!) garbage receptacle that was overflowing in no time.
Drives me nuts, 15.00 to park minimum, add 1.50 on every ticket and let me park free for a 1 hour show. At least then i feel like we got a deal. Tickets to events here are a crazy price also, hockey at least a 100, other shows 40 plus, cant wait to see new prices at the new venue.
Van Gogh was incredible. Amazingly presented. His story was moving. The way they made the art come to life was unforgettable. It was family friendly. I have 3 sets of twin girls that were mesmerized for well over an hour. They had to pay for half of their tickets and they say two thumbs up and money we'll spent.
Beyond Van Gogh are going to have an event at your building. They have sold thousands of dollars of tickets, moved the dates, and will not allow refunds, Date changes, I CANT EVEN GIVE THESE TICKETS TO MY FRIENDS, or re sell them because apparently they'll be null and VOID.
THIS IS CRIMINAL! Hundreds of ticket holders are approaching city hall this week to do something about this atrocity.
Please step in, do not allow this sort of activity and allow them to out your name on the event.
Easy to get to with quite a bit of parking - was $15 when I went. Only place I've been inside was Hall F for the Beyond Van Gogh exhibit. The outside of the building looks older than the finishes inside - clean and visually appealing inside. All staff was friendly and seemd to be enjoying being there (chatty with each other and all patrons alike). Easy to gain entrance to exhibit with ample area to keep lines/guests waiting for thier time slots. Large space for exhibits like Beyond Van Gogh - didn't feely restrictive at any point.
Restaurant interior is adorable! Kind of gives me Joe Exotic vibes tho haha! The service was lovely. Liked everything we ordered: prawn curry, mushroom curry, momos (lamb and cilantro).
Went for the noel lights however it was extremely crowded even though we had set times to go which we figured would stagger the people instead of everyone cramming in all at once especially with the nature of the event with taking pictures and looking at the lights in a narrow pathway and with covid going on! Could have been dealt with better and a little more professionally
We went for Noel light display. It took us almost as long to park as it did to see the display. Artisans that were selling their wares were not at all worth looking at. Very poor.
Fun to wander through lights indoors and enjoy a festive display. Lots of shops and artisans! There are even food trucks, but you can eat there due to covid probably so we ended up eating out at the entrance way instead.
Attended the Baby & Tot Show. They had excellent protocols in place as one would expect from The Calgary Stampede. I was so happy to support the Stampede's BMO Convention Centre & the local businesses at the Baby Show. There are more events scheduled on Stampede Park & at the BMO Centre & i strongly encourage people to go. It is possible to be safe & protect others while supporting our city.
This bmo branch is most unprofessional branch I have ever been too. Everytime I try pull out money from my account I get fifth degree, like I’m some sort of Criminal.
I've gone here for a ton of events as both a visitor and a participant. Car shows, comic expo, wine tasting, global petroleum show, stampede, everything you can think of.size of the facility is good, lots of power hook ups, facilities can hook you up with anything.
I've come here for the Comic Con and most recently hung out at the Riderville Hospitality House during the Grey Cup Festival. I like that there is room for cars to drive by & drop or pick up guests. It is so convenient. Had a great time both times I was here.
Went to HEX over the weekend. It was completely worth the ticket price. Staff was excellent their costumes were great and it was a lot of fun. If you love a haunted scary good time than this is an event worth catching.
Be careful! Very sophisticated sales system strategy. Really high pressure sales to spend $400 to $3,000. You only have a few minutes to think about it. They say they are giving you a bargain as they decrease the obscenely overpriced product and say this is a secret don't tell anybody else that I gave you this bargain. They say this is something you're doing for yourself. That you deserve to do something good for yourself. They show you these highly priced items on the internet to try to prove that this is what they're worth and that you're getting a bargain because they're decreasing the price. However if you look up these items on eBay and Amazon they are 75-90% cheaper! Very predatory sales strategy. The beauty kiosks regarding anti-aging creams, devices, even hair care tools and products are all connected (they all know each other) but they pretend to be separate entities. When you are stressed from being under the sales pressure they notice that and somebody will come and be kind to you and introduce you to other products to sell giving you water to calm you and pretending to be your best friend helping you along, only to sell you yet another high-priced item. Its predatory, unethical, high functioning sales strategies.
I love the place. I hate driving in down town, I mean who loves driving any where in down town or even worst somewhere close to China town like this place. I will give you an advice so you can visit anywhere in down town close to Bank of Montreal Centre only on holidays and weekends. You can always park at James Short (not sure if I get the right name) park. Parking ground is located under the park and weekends rate is 2dollars only. Be reminded that the Centre is always busy and crowded. This Center is connected with other places like shopping malls food courts and even recreation park at the top level close to the centre.
