Went recently during Calgary's cold snap after not visiting for years. Was just as good, and just as legendary as I remember. Huge burgers for a decent price, not like this dime a dozen trendy new burger places that are popping up all over town. This spot is legit and stands far above those other pop ups. 10/10 will return soon
I went here for the first time in many years over the weekend.
I picked the Fat Elvis shake which features peanut butter, banana and actual pieces of bacon. There were so many good flavors to choose from but I was happy with my choice. My wife had the monthly special of Cinnamon Toast Crunch but we both found it did not have enough cinnamon and was a disappointing choice.
I had the Mac and Cheese burger with a 2nd patty and bacon. They have thin (but very tasty) patties so I always recommend going with a double. My wife had the Keith's burger which comes with bacon, sauteed mushrooms and grilled onions. We were both happy with our burger choices.
We had the Hot Tots (which were perfectly crispy and the chili seasoning was tasty but not too hot) and onion rings which were nice and crispy as well and had a large onion inside.
It was super busy but we didn't have to wait long to order. Our shakes came out 5 minutes later than our sides came out about 5 minutes before our burgers. Staff were super friendly and we both took some food to go.
3rd time here. While the first time didnt impress me at all this place has grown in me. The food and atmosphere are pretty good and the employees seem pretty.dope af.
Small 24 seat burger joint. Retro vibe with 80s music playing and old arcade games available to play while waiting. Good friendly service and good food, including the shakes.
Finally got the time to review this restaurant and it sure blew me away. When we walked in we were greeted very kindly by the staff working and even gave us great recommendations when we were confused on what we wanted. No complaints in terms of customer service it was phenomenal. The Atmosphere of the place was amazing and brought me back to when I was a kid with the colourful and humorous decor and the old school arcade machines as well. Most importantly the food, which was incredible to say the least for the very cheap price. Our burgers were unique and so were our shakes so no complaints from any of us. Just a nice place to dine and reminisce can’t wait to come back soon!
First time here.will not be the last. A pleasant change to the sterile big chains. Food was amazing. ALL of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Thank for lunch!
Just ordered a plain old cheeseburger. A bit too much bun for the patty for me but quite tasty. I will be going back to sample a different burger from their interesting menu.
I've been a Boogies burger customer going way back. I'd sit at the counter and listen to Faye talk about anything and everything. The burgers here are still among the top in Calgary. Great bun, fresh meat and excellent fries to go along with great service.
Really great burger place. Does take some time for you to get your order, but then you know its fresh. Cool old school atmosphere. Their seasoned fries are really great. Not sure if Id say they are better than Peters, but would 100% recommend you pay a visit!
What a delight. Lovely, low sink so that this is more accessible for smaller bears. A wonderful aesthetic feature is the portrait of the toilet above a photo of the portrait of the toilet with the toilet. A truly thoughtful addition. Also, the green soap scores them bonus points!
My favorite burger joint in Calgary for both burgers and atmosphere. Love this place. I brought the kids for the first time and they also loved it. The PB, banana and honey milkshake is amazing. Each of my kids finished all their food which is a first:)
The staff were also incredibly helpful and very friendly. Can't recommend this place strongly enough.
This is the burger place to visit in Calgary if you're looking for an experience.
I ordered the "don't fear the Reaper" burger & onion rings (I'm a heathen). I shared the onion rings with multiple people who and I quote "don't like onion rings" they all agreed they'd be getting them again.
The burgers (no matter what you get) are insanely good, with great flavor & the entire experience makes you want to return again & again.
Absolutely the best burger place in Calgary! Do yourself a favor and go. Burgers are delicious, tater tots, fries, onion rings doesn't matter what side you get they are all great. Bunch of video games to play, my two year old goes crazy.
In my opinion, this is the best burger in town that I've tried so far. On top of the great food, the atmosphere is really awesome, and the staff are very friendly.
After hearing all the hype about Boogies, I finally got to try it last night. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a soda. The burger was amazing, one of the best I've had in Calgary. Huge, filling, tasty, fresh ingredients/toppings, hard to beat. The fries were a little too soggy and greasy for my liking, but you did get a lot of them. Loved the atmosphere with the retro arcade games, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly/fast and added to the ambience of the place. Very good, will be back.
Theses guys are real. Not posing as a cool place that cares, they realy do. Go figure, a restaurant that want you to come back. Absolutely awesome veggie burger. If you're just back from the hinterlands & famished get the Doug's "don't fear the reaper" Burger. 4 freaking patties, slices of bacon, wait it disent stop there, it also has a weiner, lots of cheese & (just because) a fried egg. Go figure. We get the single patty Burger.
Burger was too big for an old guy like me. The wife's hot chicken Burger was xstream. Very spicy fries Very good food. Parking isn't the best. I would definately recommend this place for good food and very nice staff.
Still the best milkshake in Calgary and second best cheeseburger. I make a point to visit every time I'm in town, and I imagine I always will. Patties were a bit dry, but otherwise very good.
I’ve been to Boogie’s Burgers many times over the years, and I have never left disappointed. However, Boogies has apparently stepped up their game. We ordered in, and the chicken burgers and onion rings were excellent.
Boogies makes the burgers that sound like they could be either really good or really terrible when you read them - and they hit the nail on the head.
When you take my word for it and go out of your way for a burger, take a chance and try something you wouldn’t normally would!
Hands down the best in the world loved it in every way could die a happy man service was great staff were amazing would truly recommend to anybody who wants to have their mind blown
This place was featured on "You Gotta Eat Here" for a reason.
Great food and fantastic atmosphere coupled with old school customer service and friendliness.
Quickly became regulars.
Spicy Plum Sauce!
My partner's go to order was always the Red Dog Clogger. Gourmet Hot Dog at it's finest. Oh, and you can get a Lucky in a bottle. My seafood preferences were satisfied with the Salmon Burger.
They have a "dog friendly" patio, as you can see from our dog sitting outside. He was a hit with staff and customers alike.
Located on Edmonton Trail they're easy to find and the service is quick for those who need to grab and go. They also have really cool milkshakes.
Retro atmosphere with delicious comfort food. The burgers are scrumptious and messy. Fun old arcade games to keep the kids and those kids at heart busy. Lots of choices it's impossible to decide, have to go back to try everything! Yum! ***Update: So happy they are open again, the food is so much better fresh and in person. All the Veggie Burgers are phenomenal and my boys love the Doug's Don't Fear the Reaper burger. National Lampoon's Chicken is super good to. But if you go for anything, Tot-Tine is the best thing on earth, Yum! Milk Shakes are hit or miss depending on who's making them but still good. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive and a monthly visit.
I ordered a Gluten Free Jerk Chicken sandwich. It was delicious. The bun was great, it held up with the taste of the sandwich. It was juicy and the toppings were good too. My friend had ordered the onion rings. Sadly not Gluten Free, but I did have a few and they were the best onion rings I've had in a long time. It's not wonder why Boogie Burger has been around for so long! Keep up the good work guys and gals!
Tried their Buffalo Chicken burger. It was really big and not too bad, but the only thing for which I might go back there is spicy fries. Their french fries is the best so far I have tasted in Calgary.
Delicious, filling burger. I’d you are craving a burger, this is the only place in Calgary you should go. Also, get those fries spicy, it’s a delicious cajun spice that can’t be beat.
Not a great tasty food as per the hype going around about this place. Tried beyond meat patty seems not fully cooked. Jerk chicken burger is way bitter in the taste. Don't recommend to eat at this place for someone looking to try something new out there.
This place has some amazing burgers. I had th macaroni and cheese burger. Not only is it specialized but it's incredible delicious. There's also a huge selection of milk shakes including tiger, root beer, maol bacon and so on. The one with staff is super nice and helpful, and the atmosphere is awesome right down to the arcade joust game by the door. 100% recommend if you're looking for a good burger.
Delish burger (Fay's burger with cheese). The fries and gravy was yummy, too. Love the ambience, and the staff were cool and actually made an effort with the customers. Cool to see, will be back.
First time out having these burgers today.took my mother (who is a very picky eater by the way) and to her delight it was fantastic as well as mine was to myself.so good job.did not disappoint! Friendly staff and retro interior is a bonus with some games as well.we will be back.worth the drive for bit of distance.
I don't know how this place is so highly rated, I experienced pretty rude service, maybe the girl was having a bad day. The burger wasn't good, the milkshakes were devoid of flavour.
Recommended to us by friends, absolutely delicious burgers, fries, and shakes! Mini corn dogs for my youngest were devoured- prices are absolutely a great value. Portions are MASSIVE, great vibe, retro arcade games- Monday’s you play free! There are 2 locations now but I recommend you hit up the original. Staff was friendly, tunes were killer. Absolutely our new fave. Sorry Peter’s- this was THAT good!
As a born and raised Calgarian, I can't beleive it took me until now to go to Boogie's Burgers. The food is GREAT and the grungy themed atmosphere just adds to the experience.
Great little burger place on Edmonton Trail, Milkshakes might be the best in town, some throw back 80s arcade games, great atmosphere and food. Highly recommended place to hang out and catch up w an old friend.
One of my favorite burger joints in Calgary since I was a kid prowling the streets of Renfrew. Fantastic burgers, fries, milkshakes and other assorted tasty treats including craft beer! I've been eating at Boogies for decades.check them out soon!
The staff here are the absolute bomb. The grindage is all that and a bag of chips. The milkshake selection is bunk, but hella dope. Mad cheddar, but tots worth all the dead presidents. All in all, the shiznit!
Good burgers, unique location. We decided to try it out after seeing it on You gotta eat here. The burger was good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were friendly. I would definitely eat here again.
Best burgers and shakes I've had in a long time! Shakes are even better then the drive through down on 16th Ave. They also gave a totatine (tater tot poutine) which is to die for!
The best burger in town, bar none! I get here several times a year and have never had a bad experience! The staff is always fun and interactive, the food is always spot on and the atmosphere is fun! Thank you to the team at Boogie’s! You make every visit an experience!
First time. Fast and friendly service. Casual ambiance, with working arcade machines. Interesting burger options. Burger was good, but not quite amazing. Mint shake was a good consistency, but not quite minty enough. But I'm definitely going back to try some different things.
I really liked the charm of this place and the staff were awesome! Funky milkshakes and great burgers! My only request would be that the meat of the burger would be a little more seasoned but other than that a fantastic place! Will be back for sure!
I like boogies, but when they close the entire store for a private party after driving out of my way for it was extremely frustrating. Atleast make it public.
Boogie Burger serves really nice burgers and the fries and not bad either. I’m a vegetarian and found their veggie burgers to be really nice and not too dry. The surroundings are like something from the 50”s which is part of the charm. I wasn’t overly impressed with the drinks. They give us our soft drinks in red plastic cups with a ton of ice and the drinks have always been flat. This was really the only thing I could fault them on. Certainly worth a visit, and would definately go back again!
Better than McDonald’s or Wendy’s but I would say it’s SEVERELY overhyped. It’s a very homemade style burger so I’d say the quality of the ingredients is good but taste wise I was quite let down.
Boogie's has been a favourite since my childhood. Big juicy burgers with interesting toppings, good beer for us older kids, and yummy milkshakes for kids of all ages.
Not worth the hype. Perfect case of trying too hard. The milkshakes are great, but the burger is over the top. The staff seemed very likable though. Maybe, worth a try, but not a repeat.
Loved it! The portions are huge so come prepared to eat. I spent 50 dollars between 2 people (one burger small fries and milkshake each, as well as a tip) which I found reasonable for the quality and the portion size.
The burgers are great. I'm really not impressed that the fries looked like they have been fried in overly used oil. I'm not sure how often they change the oil but I highly recommend they do it more often. The fries look like they were stained, were saggy and didn't taste well. They definitely can work on the hygiene seen the lady at the cash going to the kitchen helping out right after dealing with cash with out washer her hands. I think I will give this another chance later on and hopefully it improves. Looking forward to a better experience next time!
Very overrated spot. I've had fast food burgers better than this. Fries are terrible. Service was friendly and good. Oh, and the milkshake was tasty as well. But, it is a burger joint and it fails to deliver.
I've gone here several times after my boyfriends paintball tournaments. The food is amazing, and the staff are super friendly. The best part is that i can bring my dog with me. A+ for dog friendly patio.
If you like a saucy burger, this is the place to be. Honestly there's some amazing burgers on the menu, but some are just there to be dramatic in my opinion, and they don't taste so good. They make a mean milkshake though, so don't forget to order that
I had some horrible exprences lately at boogies, after enjoying the food fries and shakes for more than 16 years, on Sunday morning the places was not so busy but I had to wait for about 24 minutes, after the long wait to my disappointment I was given something I didn’t order, that was double disappointment. Well I don’t know if the place is under new management or something has changed, I missed the cool and friendly staff I’ve encountered in the past. I’m not sure if things will be normal again.
Absolutely amazing burgers that might be a bit big for kids. Can be expensive. They have a great selection of items to choose from such as mac and cheese wedges and a verity of milkshakes. Would recommend if you are looking for a big meal.
