The vibe inside was awesome, perfect for brunch too. Went for the french toast and eggs benedict - each was tasty! You can also enjoy their instagrammable place. Totally recommend it!
Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Being a chef for the last 25 years its hard for me to give a perfect 5 star rating. My partner and I were very pleased with the atmosphere and the elegance of the building and the walk up to the building. The nature of the building being a bit older and the way the acoustic were in the dining room made the room a bit on the loud side, but that is to be expected. The serving staff was most excellent, for the life of me I can not remember the name of our server, but he was fantastic and very well mannered. The amuse was fantastic, the smoky notes on the paprika and the grape were delicious. The Duck Confit, albeit delicious, could have been a little more cared for in a sense. The turnips, mushrooms, and black garlic sauce were phenomenal, but the duck itself was a tad dry and even though it did not taste of it, the skin was a little on the burnt side towards the base of the thigh and a little soggy and underwhelming on the upper leg part. The frize salad was a nice touch to counter the richness of the dish, but it was also well place to try and hide the charred part, overall I would say its great but needs some refinement/teaching to whomever cooked that dish. My girlfriend ordered the Cod with tomato broth and was not disappointed one bit, for myself I had the Butternut Risotto and it did not disappoint but could have used a touch more salt and an extra splash of acid. The fried sage was a nice touch, but 2 sage leaves is a little too much as it is super strong and almost killed the delicate flavors of the squash and the burrata. I know that my overall review says 4/5 stars (because it wont let me do a half star), for me this is a very good 4.5/5. Thank you so much for a fantastic night out for our little celebratory dinner
Overall a nice dining experience. Food was good, service was quick & the atmosphere was great. Great selection of food. Their creme brulee is highly recommended.
Underwhelming experience celebrating a birthday. Brunch selection was pretty eye catching but food quality couldn't compare to what I remember having a couple years ago. Service was slow, plates came out well after the appetizers arrived, brunch dishes came out 45 minutes and cold after ordering, with empty tables all around us, wine and waters were not topped up at any point. Expected more from the experience, but atmosphere is always top tier here.
From a regular customer for the past 20 years. I wish I had the opportunity to do a full review but never got the chance to sit and enjoy a mid- afternoon light meal as they advertise on their web page. Tuesday-Friday from 2pm-4pm. My partner and I got there Friday at 3: 45, which is within the times and days that they offer the afternoon menu. But instead of enjoying a nice charcuterie board on the patio, we were rudely greeted by a male server telling us that their was no food available at that time & that Chef was not available to "cook" for us. Now, A charcuterie board can be put together within minutes and could have been done without any issues as per their website. Consistency goes a long way.be better for your customers & make them feel invited in your establishment.
Waited 15 minutes with no service, ended up leaving. Staff solution was to make a reservation for some other day instead of just taking our orders, it was pretty weird. Food looks good from other reviews but the hoops for the "privilege" to eat it are a bit too much so I probably won't be back.
Had brunch with my granddaughter, food was wonderful, the service amazing and sitting in the veranda in the sun was delightful. Only one complaint, the Red Rose tea, it's terrible tea and needs to go! Always a pleasure to dine at The Ranche, a family favorite, thank you
Went here for my mothers birthday and the service was incredible! Food was great as well but our server Dana did an amazing job at making us feel welcome and comfortable. Will definitely come back and ask for her again!
The service is good and the place is pretty cool. In terms of the food, presentation is good but the taste is just average. We found a few dishes to be quite salty.
Had my birthday brunch here - great location (i.e. It's peaceful as it's right by a park/greenery), food and portion sizes are also pretty good. I didn't find anything unique with the dishes served, but it's the typical brunch we go for (bennies and steak and eggs).
Our server was amazing as well (I didn't get to learn her name sadly).
Enjoyed the most delicious lunch time set menu at The BV Ranch with my family. We wanted a special place and BVR did not disappoint! The food was beautifully cooked, so flavourful and with high quality ingredients. Service was very attentive and set menu was excellent value. Highly recommend!
Had an unexpected brunch there during our short visit to Calgary and it was exquisite in every way! The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the place fantastic! Will be our go to place for lunch next time!
At first I was hesitant with the menu only offering five entries, but I ordered the chicken meal and it was one of the best chicken meals I have ever tasted. Service was on par with most good restaurants. I understand this menu changes often based on available local produce. Try the chicken!
