I would definitely not recommend this vet clinic. They are very pushy and try to over sell testing and medication for your pet Not very accommodating to patients concerns or thoughts. Never met with the vet in person Only dealt with technician in the clinic. Never met with the vet face to face ;only chatted with her on the phone. Very poor customer service! I have spoken with other pet owners in the neighbourhood and they will definitely not use this vet since it has moved to Kingsland vet clinic

Visited them today as my veterinarian couldn’t fit my Cashew in.
He had his nails trimmed as I was to afraid to do it myself as they were black and could not see his quicks, so thought who better than professionals to bring him to. He did so well they said and they were quick, and informative on nail care as to keep it up once a month. Thanks so much to the staff as I know he feels way better and see it in his walking.

Britannia kings land vet clinic was a God send to me last Friday. I live 2 1/2 hours from Calgary and my turtle was sick. I made an appointment with her usual vet for Thursday but got the time wrong so they turned me away. I was so worried so I stayed the night and took all morning looking for a reptile vet. I absolutely couldn’t find a single one but I happened to phone Britannia kingsland clinic and they managed to give me an appointment even though I was late! Thank you so much for your kindness and patience.

They took us in with relatively short notice. The staff was so friendly and Dr. Murphy was so compassionate. The service here is second to none. Highly recommend them

They were fine with our dog Shadow but when our cat got sick they wouldn't even fit her in to look at here we had to take her somewhere else!

The vets and other staff here are very caring. I highly recommend after being here several times and experiencing the consistency of great care and service.

It was such an incredible experience going here with my bunny Salad I learned a lot of stuff with bunny care and about the new disease with Dr. Katie Radcliffe! I highly highly recommend this vet clinic! All the staff was wonderful and friendly️ I will be a regular client here for the rest of Salad’s life! Thank you so much!

We moved from ON to AB, we looked for family doctors all over Calgary and we couldn't find a doctor who seemed to find our well-being until Dr. Lisa. She went through every single note similarly to our previous doctor in ON. They are very organized w/ online access. Receptionists are fully educated from insurance to animal health.

Amazing experience, our Rabbit has been notorious for getting incredibly stressed after vet visits, so we generally try to avoid going unless absolutely needed. Very nice staff, and very knowledgeable about rabbits. Even after his eye flush he was very calm and back to binkying around that evening! We're so happy with the experience.

Based solely on the cat claw trimming experience. In and out in less than 5 minutes at an affordable price considering our cat wouldn't let us near her paws ever.

Friendly and professional. Reasonable rates. Reasonable wait times for scheduling appointments.

Overpriced compared to most vets. Performed a poorly executed surgery on my dog, which had to be fixed up later, for a costly amount. Constantly pushing for more unnecessary expenses to be added to the bill. Upselling is the main purpose here, not the care of the pet.

If I was able to give this 0 stars I would. Dr. Lisa Hamill not only a horrible vet, she is also a horrible person. She will try and upsell you every chance she gets. We were told in March 17th that our 12 year old dog had diabetes. We had no idea at the time that her glucose levels were dangerously high and she needed insulin immediately. We were booked in 5 days later to get her insulin. She deteriorated rapidly. We did not understand how bad her diabetes was, and honestly, didn’t worry as we figured it wasn’t that bad if our appointment wasn’t for 5 days. Even at the appointment on March 21, they told us not to start giving the insulin until the next morning. So that is 6 days later in March 22. We have the insulin every day, changed her food. She declined, and lost her sight. We took her in to get her levels tested again and she was even higher. Hamill increased her insulin by one unit. The following day I spoke with another vet who confirmed that the right thing to do was to put our dog down. I confronted Hamill this morning and she was defensive, dismissive, and told me she hoped to never see me in the clinic again. She did not want me to get my dogs insulin or food from another place because she wanted the $$. So we watched our dog suffer unnecessary for her last days. Our dog should have been sent to emergency to get her insulin so she didn’t feel so horrible for her last days. Maybe we would have even had her longer. We were so clear about the quality of life for our dog. She took that from us. And was rude and horrible to me at the end. Find another vet. She is absolutely horrible.

We have been patrons for many years and many of our beloved pets have gone through their doors. The entire staff are wonderful people, and the vets are very caring. Their follow up is much appreciated and attentive.

I've been taking my dog to this vet clinic since day 1 and will not take her anywhere else but here. The staff really care about the well being of your animal and are very compassionate. My dog kallie had a lot of tummy problems as a puppy and they would always phone a couple days after I had gone it to see how she was doing. On one occasion I had to take kallie to the emergency vet as it was after hours and the next day Britannia vet clinic phoned me to find out what had happened and provided suggestions for me to make kallie more comfortable. Truly an amazing clinic with amazing staff.

I do not normally write negative reviews but I felt very upset and disappointed in the service, and the response that I received when I did voice concerns. I took my very sick dog in and was seen by a vet in this clinic who also was very concerned about how my dog was presenting. He did a very thorough exam and was very good with my dog and with explaining things to me. This appointment which included blood tests came to just under $400.00 which I promptly paid without question. The vet was very concerned for my dog and explained if conditions worsened overnight to take her to the 24 hour emergency clinic right away. I was also told that I would be contacted the next day by a vet to give me the results of the blood test and to check on my dogs condition. After a sleepless night with my dog, I awaited for a call and was neither given the follow up call as promised or so much as a courtesy call to check on my dog. When I finally got the call two days later, I stated this was not good service and I wanted some form of compensation. It was first stated that this was no one’s fault, however I felt that I paid top dollar for a poor service. And what was promised was never delivered. The vet did call two days later indicating all blood tests were acceptable, and my once very sick dog now appears to be healthy. I will not be attending this clinic in the future.

It might be a bit on the pricy side (not 100% sure as I don't visit a lot of vets) but the care is great and the doctors clearly have the best interest of the animal in mind.

Love our experience with Britannia Kingsland vet. All staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Techs are always available for any question.

When my cat was sick and I couldn't get into my usual vet, they were fully booked that day but made it a priority to see him. They were absolutely wonderful and did everything in their power to try to make him better. A huge thanks to all the staff working there for your excellent work.

VERY unhappy with this vet. We recently had our cat in, and were given a perfectly reasonable quote for the overnight stay, tests and procedure. On arrival to pick her up, the bill had suddenly doubled with unrequested and unauthorized tests.

Would NOT recommend this clinic if you dislike financial surprises.

Ok. So normally I don't review but wow. We came in months ago for a dog with what we thought was a bad hip. Xrays and tests later it was said upper back. And she has an allergic reaction to something. Pay for oils. Metacam and prepay for 4 shots for back issue. I have other issues but the problem is she had a stable simple raw diet (no issues) beef. Rice. Pumpkin. Vet says oh well beef is one of the worst allergens. Actually no, chicken is. Through wife forcing info out of vet it became clear. One this place is a cash grab toting natural holistic approach but I fact push meds at high price ans 2. Not wanting to admit that product they told us we NEED to buy and need to buy from them is likely the cause. My dog has hated fish her entire life and the oils sold to us are fish based. And here hot spots and red bleeding mouth and paws started after consuming these products.
I'd like to point out they saw front paw and didn't notice back paw (which was bleeding a Daya go).
I don't tell people to not go to a business. But if you truely love your animal go somewhere else. I'm. Not saying they aren't good with some issues as even a bad Dr can make some issues go away.
I've owned animals my whole life from cats and dogs to livestock so vets have always been in my life. Research options. Unfortunately reviews aren't accurate I understand.dont waste your money.

We have been going to Britannia Kingsland Clinic for decades. They are a great group of Veterinarians and always call the next day to make sure your animals are doing well.

I am so happy I found this vet. Dr. Murphy is excellent, and the prices are so fair, always reasonable. My pets are a cat and a box turtle.

Definitely go with Dr. Murphy stay far away from Dr. Douglas. I would argue that Dr Murphy is one of the most intelligent vets in all of Alberta. Dr. Douglas on the other hand is horrible. I brought my toy poodle Tara to Britannia Kingslands vet because she refused to walk long distances, acutely became extremely reactive and aggressive, was yelping in pain when people picked her up, was having panic, had anxiety attacks every night and became a completely different dog. Dr. Douglas barely looked at her and told me she looks fine. I was frustrated with that answer and went to Dr. Murphy. Turned out Tara had brain cancer. She eventually started having seizures and was put down by Dr. Douglas. Dr. Douglas was very rude didn't even read her file as to why she was being put down came into the room as I was sitting crying because I had to euthanize my dog and started interrogating me about why I was euthanizing my dog because she didn't read the file stating she was having 3 minute long seizures due to brain cancer. She's a horrible vet and I highly recommend you never go to her but on the flipside Dr. Murphy is an absolutely amazing vet and I would go to her a million times over

The staff are unbelievably nice and truly care for the animals. We took our sweet pup to a few clinics throughout the city and by far Britannia is our favourite. They were very respectful of our decisions on how to move forward with treatment, never gave us a bill that we didn’t understand and they are quite reasonably priced. Thank you Dr. Hamil for everything you did for us.

I recently started going here as I moved closer and by far one of the best vets, also one of the cheapest. My oldest cat had an eye infection in October 2018 and my previous vet charged me over $300.00!
I discovered I grossly charged but Britannia vet has some of the best pricing I've seen.

I have 4 animals, 2 cats, 1 dog and a bunny.
The cats have no issues getting check ups and neither does my dog. My dog is afraid of everyone.
I had my rabbit fixed there back in December and they were very informative even though I though it was a girl we found out it was indeed a boy. It was a very good chuckle and made my 2019! He had a small infection which happens but I was only charged for the medicine and they proceeded to call each week to make sure Stitch was okay.
I've recommend this vet to a few of my friends that have animals.
I hope to be dealing with Dr. Douglas and Dr. Murphy for the next little while.

I have been bringing my chinchillas to the Britannia Clinic for many years. It is not always easy to find a clinic that is familiar with or willing to treat 'exotic' pets. My guys have received excellent care from Dr. Murphy and the entire team. I would not hesitate to recommend the Britannia Clinic.

I wouldn't recommend taking small animals here. I took my guinea pig a couple months ago because I'd noticed him limping, and the vet was really rough during the exam. She also took him into a back room without me, which made me uncomfortable. I've never had a vet take away my pet for checkups. I got the medicine to help my piggy, but overall it wasn't the best experience and I would instead recommend Calgary Avian & Exotic Pet Clinic for birds and other small pets.

My family’s been coming to Britannia for years and years. They are the best around. I trust everyone on their team. Nothing but the best for my baby!

I would like to thank Britannia Kingsland Veterinary Clinic for Boss’s healthcare over the years. Boss is a purebred English Bulldog and has had his share of allergy skin and ear infections. They have always taken great care of his issues and at the same time shown me how to care for him on a daily basis. There isn’t anyone on the veterinary staff that I would not trust with his care. I have never had an appointment where we felt we have been rushed out the door.
I cannot imagine a pet owner coming away from this facility unhappy with the care their pet has received.

We have been taking our animals to Britannia Veterinary Clinic for decades. Through joy and tragedy we have benefitted from their knowledge, compassion and kindness.

We met Dr. Douglas late in our loved Dog Kinsley's life. Dr. Douglas showed so much compassion and concern during our visits and went above and beyond to assist us in understanding the prognosis and options as she neared the end of her life. I would recommend Dr. Douglas and this clinic to any concerned and loving pet owner.

Dr Hamill was so great with Cosmo, my rescue foster dog, for his first vet visit. I appreciate her patience and genuine care for Cosmo, as well as answering my million questions. I'll be returning with my own dog in the future.

I was here a week ago for the first time with my blue tongue skink Charlie. I was referred by a friend who is also a receptionist at this clinic. I wanted a vet who know about the tiliqua species, and I would be able to talk to about my concerns regarding my lovely boy. Charlie and I saw Dr. Murphy. She is fantastic at what she does, and the treatment she recommended for my boy is actually making a tremendous difference! He is looking so much better now, and it’s all thanks to Dr. Murphy! It was also reassuring to hear from a vet that he is being well looked after and apart from this minor setback, he is healthy through and through. Charlie has had two homes before me, and he was in pretty rough shape before he came to me. It makes me so happy that he is doing well! I can’t wait for him to be able to be himself and burrow like he loves doing! Thank you again for everything! I will be bringing my animals back to you!

The best vet clinic anywhere! They really care about all their pet patients and Chantelle at the desk is wonderful!

Good friendly staff. I brought my dog in with a broken dew claw nail, it cost me $250!: 0. Same thing happened to my other dog a couple months later, I took him somewhere else and it cost me $26!? Britannia Kingsland did give me a bunch of antibiotics that the other did not but even with out those it was still over $100 more expensive for the same service. The work done was great and the staff was friendly. I'm not rich though and glad it doesn't cost that much when I myself break a nail. To be clear, good service, friendly staff, but maybe shop around if price is of high importance to you.

Our dogs have been patients at Britannia Kingsland for over 10 years. When we get out of the car, they know the exact path to the clinic's door and are happy to be there. The vets and staff are very professional, caring and responsive to our concerns. They do not order tests unnecessarily or suggest buying dog food at the clinic (as opposed to Costco or anywhere else). They care about our pets as much as we do and as if they were their own pets. If one dog is in for an appointment, they always ask about the other one. Highly recommended.
