I worked for Bruin's for 25 years, now part-time in fabrication shop as needed.
This is a well run company with first-rate management & supervisors. A great place to do an apprenticeship & work for.
Recently, I had an issue with our own furnace at home that I was not able to fix. I asked Bruin's service department to send someone over to rectify it.
Troy Marshall was dispatched last Friday morning. Troy came to Bruin's from another company. His skills there will be very useful at Bruin's.
Troy was a very pleasant professional young man. He was able to diagnose our problem & fix it. We have used Bruin's to service our furnace since it was installed. There have been a few issues over the years that have been dealt with.
We will use Bruin's when the time comes to change our furnace.

The service was awesome, even on my acreage 20 minutes from town. Prepare to pay an after hours fee but I believe that is fair considering the on call person will work all night to get you up and running (Ryan in my case). I was informed of the costs throughout the repair and although parts weren't available the same day the repair was performed immediately when the parts were received. I will recommend the Bruins team in the future for sure.

David did an outstanding job! Diagnosed the problem, thoroughly fixed it and was professional throughout the entire process. Heck our dog even took a liking to him. Recommend Bruins for all your plumbing needs. Ed and Chantal.

Bruin's was very professional and very easy to deal with. I had a few additional things I needed them to take care of and they did. Their email response times are great and the staff I dealt with were very friendly. I would definitely recommend Bruin's to anyone.

I’m genuinely upset that I have to give you a one star, you deserve none.

Not only did they do $35,000 damage to my house, they refused to take responsibility after their plumber accepted fault for it.

They installed a humidifier and didn’t bother to secure the drain hose into the floor drain. That was all fine until the technician came out for our bear care inspection, obviously knocked the hose out of the drain and it flooded our basement the next time we turned he humidifier on. Not only did the bear care tech do a terrible job, he had to come back 3 times because he forgot his tools, forgot to inspect the AC unit and forgot to get us to sign off. He also awkwardly picked up my husband’s guitar and played him songs for a while. It was one of the weirdest experiences we’ve ever had. We were trying to be polite so we let it go, but then their shotty work cratered our basement and we knew that we’d made a mistake by being too nice. Completely taken advantage of by Steve and his team, I’ve never been so disappointed.

They also tried to take advantage of my neighbour. She’s a new Canadian and she had plumbing issues while her husband was working away. They tried to tell her that more work needed to be done than necessary because she was a solo female and English isn’t her first language.

We work way too hard for our homes to let companies like this in. Please do yourself a favour and call someone else.

The service tech, Nick went above and beyond to install our new central air conditioning system, including a thorough explanation of how to use and maintain it all… I would not hesitate to recommend Bruins to anyone. Nick was knowledgeable, friendly and professional!

We had our ducts cleaned today, and we are really happy with the service and the end results. Cleaned everything up and showed us pictures of before and after. It's definitely worth using Bruin's

Staff was friendly they left the work area clean when job was finished and Jody in billing and finance was excellent to deal with.

Dale showed up early and was pleasant from the onset. He worked efficiently and did an excellent job from start to finish. He even added some essential oils to mask some of the dust smell. We are very satisfied with the work done. Then a couple days later we had our furnace maintenance tenancy. Rochelle was very thorough. Cleaned as well as looked at all parts. Made some suggestions and pointed out some necessary maintenance parts. I was really pleased with her professional background and time well spent with us. Thank you.

Renaldo came to do our yearly furnace and humidifier maintenance as we belong to the Bear Care program. He will be back to do our A/C maintenance once the weather warms up.
The Bear Care Program is awesome! Bruins looks after us very well.

Had our furnace serviced by Bruins. Very happy with the service. He did a very good job. Completely satisfied.

We called about a sewer backup. It was not flooding the basement, but enough to get us worried. They were able to get to that same day, and the technician (David McGill) did the best job that he could with the machines that he had. He gave us great advice and although he did not fix the issue, he put us on to the people that could help us more. A great person, as he gave us his personal number so he could know how it all went.

My parents purchased an air conditioning unit from Bruin's Plumbing & Heating Ltd.in Red Deer in early September 2022. Unfortunately, shortly after installation, a disconcerting noise from the a/c unit could be heard in the house while the unit was running. Representatives from Bruin's attended on several occasions to see if they could rectify the sound, however, the source could not be ascertained nor resolved. A representative from the manufacturer also attended and again could not diagnose the issue, however, would not issue a replacement unit even though there was acknowledgement that there was a noise that was not acceptable while the unit was in operation. Marty, the general manager of Bruin's took it upon himself to remedy the situation and remove the original unit and replaced it with a new one. We wanted to express our appreciation to Bruin's for taking action to rectify the situation. Everyone we talked with, including the installers and management at Bruin's were courteous, professional and willing to help. We would recommend Bruin's to our friends, family and anyone who would prefer to work with a reputable business that stands by their ethics with integrity.

Renaldo came to complete our yearly furnace maintenance and as before did an excellent job. He is professional and efficient and a very nice guy. Bruins has a good one there.

The plumber did an excellent job installing our new faucets His attention to detail, knowledge and quality of his workmanship was awesome, thanks Bruins! We will definitely recommend you to our friends & family and will reach out if we need more work done:)

Somewhat challenging mechanical room to install a new furnace to code and install AC. Frustrating day first day, but second day went much better and the project was finished on time. Everything works awesome.

Would definitely recommend Jordie. He's punctual, polite & very knowledgeable. Got the job done in under the time frame originally quoted. He also tried to fix my current hot water tank by replacing the thermocouple before changing it out to try and save money turns out the gas meter was gone. Super impressed with his quality of work, experience & efficiency. Thanks again Jordie!

Took 2 weeks-to get an appointment did not have the freon we needed charged us 100 for appointment. Recommended a new system for 5000 or more.
We found another company to top up freon
Cost us 456 and our air conditioner is working well.

Rochelle was pleasant and professional and completed the job promptly. She was able to answer our questions and suggest solutions for our issues.

Dave arrived at the scheduled time and turned off the unneeded gas line and removed the pipe. Dave cleaned up after the completion of the project. Great experience

Thank you so much for the great service. We had technician David M.come this morning to fix our toilet that our daughter stuffed a bath toy down and the technician was great! Very friendly, knowledgeable and even gave us reccomendations for the appropriate plunger. We would highly recommend Bruins!

Wife went to Rona looking for some pieces for a small project, unfortunately they were out of stock on a few items. They sent her to Bruins seeing as how they specialize in "plumbing". Parts person was very unprofessional, rude and unwilling to help. Apparently you need a red seal to shop here. If you have limited knowledge in the subject of plumbing, this place is not for you. Rona was a far friendlier experience.

Services was great. Mr. Martin Hanlan who came to our house was very professional and informative on the matter of our boiler. He helped us in solving the issue fast and informed us about other things conceenung the boiler.

His work on the matter is precise the moment he started working and double checking for safety by the end of it. I am grateful for his work on our boiler and recommend Bruin and him to anyone who is looking to have their boiler checked and repaired.

Phoned parts department a week ago, needed a new fan motor for my rinnai system. Gave parts guy all the info to order a new fan, he never called me back, bought a new part else where.

Dale is a great guy, called ahead to let me know he would be early and asked if that would work for us. Once here he showed great respect for our home and contents. Very polite. Truly exceptional workmanship.
