The esthetician was fast, thorough and extremely hygienic. The spa is very clean and beautifully decorated.

I asked for grace for missing my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. I have been a consistent client on time for all my appointments for over a year. I called immediately once I realized the appointment was missed and left a message, and called again the next day to apologize. They wouldn’t let me rebook without being charged for the missed appointment. This has left such a bad taste in my mouth for this business. I understand policies, but it didn’t feel like good customer service at all - especially on the first appointment I’ve missed. Watch out!

I asked the front desk staff to book my appointment with the person I go with. Sorry I forgot her name. She said I have to go with the person available that time. Also refusing to give her availability. If you can’t provide me the service I want I’m not paying for it. Honestly, the only place I have seen so far with poor customer service.

Came here for a last minute bikini wax and I would absolutely book again! The space is so fun and cute as soon as you walk in. My waxer was gentle but still very precise! I didn’t feel like there were any areas that were “sore” from being waxed over too many times.

***UPDATE ON OCT 19,2022***
I had to come back here and update this review due to the misleading response left by the owner down below regarding connecting over email to "resolve the issue". There was no "resolution" reached. The way that this issue was handled was to tell me that I "deserve to be thrilled after a wax and we're just not able to provide that". That is NOT a resolution. I should add as well that there were no follow-up calls post appointment or post-review to gather a deeper understanding from me of the situation. The email also specifically said that my account would be deactivated and that I would no longer be able to book future appointments at Buff Wax Spot, based on this honest review (which to me signals that this is an establishment not looking to rectify subpar experiences that customers have).
For anyone reading this review and believing that a resolution was reached and done amicably, please do not be misled.

Here's my original review:
I came in today for my vajacial appointment at this location. There had been miscommunication about the appointment timing, due to which I was 15 minutes late for my appointment. Upon speaking to the wax tech - Carolina - we agreed on the service being modified given that it was my fault I was late. I was absolutely fine with this.

I was not informed prior to the appointment that there would be a trainee in the room, nor was I asked when I showed up whether I was actually okay with this arrangement. I would think this is something the client is informed about so that the client can consent to and feel comfortable about having another individual in the room beside the wax tech. A couple of times during the appointment, Carolina invited the trainee to feel my skin, again without my consent. I also don't recall trainee presence being documented in any of the policies signed. Before we started the service, Carolina insisted my head be on the very top of the pillow, but this made me uncomfortable because my lower back lifted off the table. When I mentioned this, Carolina sounded a little irked as she said "sure", then turned to the trainee and said "you want to make sure that their head is all the way at the top". This made me wonder whether there was any regard for my comfort.

3 stars for products used and quality of work performed, and because Alora at the front desk was quite kind to me when I walked in and walked out. Felt emotionally uncomfortable throughout, and physically unrelaxed unfortunately.

I love coming to Buff Wax Spot, they are professional, knowledgeable, and very affordable. I highly recommend coming here for all your waxing needs. I always book prior to leaving my last appointment

Such an amazing service! The tech was so professional and friendly. I didn’t even have time to remember how nervous I was for my first waxing!

My first time there wasn’t bad and staff is very nice.i only wax when going on holidays and today they asked me to pay a no show fee for something I didn’t book. I’ve only been here once and didn’t re book since, again I only book on vacations. They said I booked on August when I know for a fact I didn’t re book since I wasn’t going on vacation anytime soon. They then proceed to tell me I have to pay for something I didn’t book and “no showed” to. I will no longer come here and will tell my family and friends to stay away.

I got the flu and did not make my appt. They charged me full price because I did not cancel. Honestly this is the farthest thing from someone's mind when they are sick. I called them to discuss the next day, while still sick, and they said there was nothing they could do. I have never missed an appt and have been a loyal monthly client, yet they still would not assist me. Yet they have canceled my appt in the past, last minute due to their tech having to leave the salon. Yet unable to be accommodated for my appt, and had to rearrange my schedule to rebook. This is unfortunate, and I will not be returning. Poor customer service.

I booked my first ever bikini wax with Buff today after Googling "body positive wax studio" and was not disappointed. The woman at the front counter was polite and my wax tech was phenomenal. She explained everything to me, made me feel comfortable even though I was having such an intimate service performed, and was a great conversationalist. My wax was painless and I appreciated her taking her time to explain the aftercare, especially as it's all new to me. I will 100% be recommending this place to friends and family and will be coming back for more. Thank you, ladies!

Wow. This place is so amazing. I usually wax myself but it’s so hard and uncomfortable. Decided to start going to a professional and omg. Never had a better experience! They are so professional and clean and it felt so painless. Usually I’m in lot of pain when I do it myself. My waxer lady (sorry I forgot her name) was so wonderful and knowledgeable and she gave me tips for at home care. I booked immediately for my next appointment:) also I had full legs wax and will be trying maybe a bikini wax if I’m brave:)

My waxer is amazing. She was quick and efficient, talked me through the pain and made it all a comfortable experience. Plus I never get hair bumps anymore from the products I use from Buff wax, my hair grows back SO slow. I have been going here a couple of years now. Won’t go anywhere else.

I’ve been going to Wax Buff Spot for years. I normally go to the Ellerslie location but this is the first time I’ve gone to the sky view location. It was a great experience. There was a little bit of hair that was missed for my Brazilian but they were able to get me in the next day and take off the hair super fast. I wasn’t able to catch the name of the wax tech but she was great. The only thing is that wax buff spot can be a little pushy with the products they sell but I understand it’s part of the job.

I do not recommend ever using this or supporting this business. If you book a service even if you book and try to reschedule within 5 hours because life changes emergencies happen you can not cancel without being charged the FULL amount of the service even if all you want is to reschedule I feel this is a very unreasonable policy as nobody books expecting to have to reschedule there for I would not recommend this business to anyone.

I've been coming here for the past 8 months for a Bare Buff Brazilian wax. I noticed a few hours after every appointment pimples would start forming. It started from 1, to 4, to 9, to 14, to 20, and etc. It just kept adding up. Some would heal and then after my next appointment I would get more of them than what healed. It is now around 10 of them I have that are not healing very good. From the very first appointment to the last, my hair always started growing back in 2-3 days because the wax techs don't seem to be trained properly. They don't push down enough pressure when pulling the wax off, which leads to hair breaking instead of getting pulled out and it causes trauma to the skin as well as making it more prone to infections.

When I brought up the issue to varies wax techs (because its a new one every time I go), they said it's in grown hair and that if I made it a routine to come every month and exfoliated with the brush it would get better. That is very false. You should never scrub/brush over pimples or wax over them. It never got better, just kept getting worse. They should not have given me false information or even waxed on top of pimples because they do get a better view than me of what exactly is going on down there. With the amount of pimples I got I believe they also don't keep up to a general standard of hygiene. The bacteria and germs built up in the equipment infected my skin causing more pimples.

I've been paying for my hair to grow back in a few days like I just shaved as well as get a huge amount of pimples. It doesn't make no sense. I regret ever coming here and trusting them to provide a professional service. This place really needs to train there workers properly and stay on top of their hygiene.

I was extremely nervous about my first ever Brazilian wax. I called ahead of time to inquire about being plus size if there is any waxer that has more experience with plus sized women or bigger bodies and was quickly told that your studio is an all inclusive atmosphere and everyone works with all bodies and no one would discriminate on a bigger body. As soon as I arrived I felt welcomed and comfortable. Olivia did my wax and she made me feel comfortable and explained everything and talked me through the pain. As soon as we we're finished I rebooked in 4 weeks and will be a regular now.

Buff wax studio was clean, cute, welcoming. I also purchased and intimate cleanser and moisturizer. I have only used the moisturizer so far and it's AMAZING.

This used to be such a good place for a wax but the past 3 waxes have been real bad. Hairs left behind, excess wax left on my skin. Getting grilled about my after care routine because *gasp* I have 1 or 2 ingrowns. I have purchased all your products and use as directed and honestly don’t appreciate getting grilled about it every single time.

I had my very first wax here and I'm hooked! Love that they're very visibly queer supporting, and the whole vibe was fantastic. I'm terrible with names so forgive me there but my technician was so good at distracting me on top of doing an amazing job. Already booked in for my next session!

My experience was awesome. The waxer was incredible friendly. Made me feel completely at ease and welcome. She was knowledgeable, and gave reminders about skin care, which I really appreciated.

Olivia has tact and was very fast. She gave my some excellent advice on how to keep my skin fresh and moisturized

I was reluctant to give even one star!
They have only one esthetician that can wax eyebrows. Every time I try to book with her they say they don’t take requests. That makes no sense since I’m paying for the service. They have put me with two different estheticians and both time my eyebrows were wrecked, and I still had to pay for the service.
Wake up Buff wax you are not the only place in town. Read your reviews, nobody likes your policies. I will not give that place another penny.

Buff Wax Spot is the best place I have gone for an intimate waxing! They are extremely professional but also so kind and talkative that made me feel calm and comfortable. They do the most painful spots first and recommend the best service for your skin type. I did not feel rushed out at all or that they pushed product on me. I got a Brazilian and it was the best one I have ever gotten done, she left no hair behind and also extracted any ingrown. Pricing is also very fair. I have gone once and will be going in the future!

Carolina Is my absolute favorite that I have ever seen for wax. Fast, attention to detail, answering all questions, explained everything beginning, during and at the end. I love how she is the first to take my sensitive skin into consideration which cut the pain in half of previous waxes! If I could give 10 stars I would. I also absolutely love the products available for purchase. Reasonably priced, you’re well taken care of so couldn’t be happier with this location! Thank you a million

Came here for the first time and seen Savannah and she was absolutely amazing. She made me so comfortable, was super genuine and very professional. The staff were amazing! The last time I had a wax done had been years, I love the fact that they have a special wax technique just for pregnant ladies! Wonderful place, wonderful ambiance, wonderful service and wonderful people! I’m making this a regular thing!

As soon as I stepped foot in Buff Wax Spot I knew that I was going to be taken care of, after having a bad experience a couple of hours before at a private owned studio on the west-end. The establishment was clean and immaculate, just like the Buff Brazilian. Work was outstanding and they made me feel very comfortable. Best wax yet. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to prepare for vacation or to get cleaned up!

Today was my first time at Buff and I would highly recommend. It was quick, efficient and dare I say fun? ! The ambiance they have created is amazing and the techs are so fun to chat with; I almost wanted to Shazam their entire playlist too. The results are amazing and they give you lots of tips on taking better care of your skin along with product recommendations you can purchase right there. 11/10!
