Buffet Royale Carvery West

We arrived and were seated, asked for coffee and the server told us “no, not coffee have tea instead”. Asked for a straw for my drink and was told “we only give straws to children”. Went and got first plate of food, cold. Like out of the fridge cold. Told the server 10 mins later as she and the other server were behind the bar twirling their hair and looking on their phones. She didn’t believe us. Went to the back and got who looked like a chef. He said “it’s not turned on” to her. So hot food had been sitting out with no warmer on it for god knows how long. Roast beef looked like it was beef jerky. The chef or whoever walked around to check the other food. Came back 10 mins later, emptied the containers of old cold food onto a plate and placed hot food into the trays. With glaring eyes at us. Server’s glaring eyes as well. Sorry, I’m not paying $72 for cold old food and death glares. Also want to point out that I said senior for one of them and she fully charged regular price when a huge sign by the front desk says seniors daily rate. This place was just gross today. Between the staff, food and the atmosphere.

Came here for a work event. I've never been here but I had heard rumors of the food quality and those rumors were not off the mark. I'm not sure how you mess up some of the most quintessential dishes known to man but man was it gross. The ginger beef was soggy, no crunch, the ribs my partner had was more like beef jerky but without any actual meat. I tried to have the turkey dinner spread they had out and the turkey was tastless, over cooked and just unseasoned. Even the desert was sad, three small plates of coffee cake and some cookies - heck even the chocolate fountain had sparse amounts of fruit (and marshmallows) to dunk in chocolate. The ice cream machine was good, minus that it wasnt serving chocolate ice crewm juet vanilla/raspberry. The staff were FANTASTIC, honestly this location should give them all a pay raise for how fantastic they were, super friendly, very lovely and very attentive.

It sucks cuz the front of house STAFF do not deserve a 2 star review just the food.

The food is great and the service is too! I will come back for some more the next time I visit Edmonton

Was quite disappointed with this place. Went there with the family and the food was mediocre at best. When my son got a plate, there was good stuck on the bottom of it and he got it all over his hands. He basically stopped eating. That situation kinda grossed my family out they all didn't eat much afterwards.

Service was not too bad and the waiter was prompt with getting dishes. But overall not what we would expect.

I wanted turkey, REAL mashed potatoes and gravy fresh! Not frozen veggies and not made out of a package! EPIC dissatisfaction! Over and wrongly seasoned, still not sure what spice? Was in the gravy 3 strikes and your out! Never again! Especially for that price and it was only the lunch menu!

No different than any other place. Thought there was more of a MEAT lay out but just 2 options rest were typical buffet foods like spring rolls dry ribs onion rings etc. The name did not live up to my expectations. Not lots of carving. Not even a brisket.

Poor service! Waitress only came by once to take drink order, brought drinks then disappeared. When asked if the pop was pepsi or coke she replied its coke, then proceeded to bring out glasses of pepsi.
The buffet for dinner is 35$, they give only a 2$ discount for seniors. Not worth the price as my dad could only eat one plate.
Although we were all paying seperate bills they proveeded to add on a 15% gratuity for us all. It cost me $181 for 4 people for very poor service and tasteless food. Will not go there again!

The place is clean and the staff are friendly, but the food leaves much to be desired. It is not horrible, just underwhelming. Some items have no taste to them.

The place wasn't too bad but it's wasn't great either.

The food was mid and the one that i actually like was the shrimp and the worst one was the fried rice, it was so bland.

Service, i cant really give a high point or low point cuz it was a self serve so it's just neutral.

The food choices were kinda limited for 35 per person when there is other buffet that has tons of food on their buffet.

Lastly the ice cream station kinda exploded and it got into my shirt and hands. Kinda messy.

Not sure why they specify carvery when there’s a very limited amount of things to be carved. There is also a very limited amount of options and I was unpleasantly surprised at the quality of the food for $37 a plate. I could have air fried a better frozen food selection than they had. There was one guy who seemed to be doing everting (props to him) while the rest of the staff stood around to chat.

Overall food is good and service is is also good. If your looking for a variety of food this a good place to go. The decor is very simple so do not expect an upscale restaurant. Price is also competitive

Imagine jacking up your buffet rates on Father's day. Rates are advertised at 26.99, but we called to make a reservation and were informed buffet would cost $42 today. I won't be calling again, that's for sure.

It was wonderful having our own room to celebrate my wedding day. My family and friends enjoyed the great food and service. We will definitely return.

The buffet area is really dirty and the server just walking around. The food was too dry and not enough option. The fruit area is messed up and no one is wiping out. Never to recommend this place. Never!

Food wasn’t anything outstanding, but where this buffet doesn’t shine in the department of flavour it outdoes itself with the variety of selection and quantity. Food, salads, and fresh fruit as well as the chocolate fountain means there is lots to choose from and try. Overall was satisfied and stuffed. Although I wish there was a bit more flavour, and some spice in the dishes.

The staff and manager were amazing! They were great with helping us with our event. The food was great as well with so much variety. We loved the chocolate fountain and self serve soft ice cream. We ordered and bought an extra roast beef slab as they only had the brunch time available for our event which didn't include it so we were glad we were able to order it as an extra.

Just spent short of $100 for my spouse, and I to eat quite possibly the worst buffet I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes are straight out of a box, the roast beef dry like leather, the Chinese food… out of a frozen food box? Who knows. My spouse couldn’t even finish one plate, and I forced myself through mine. If the owner reads this… reality check, do better, or you will inevitably go out of business. Will never be back.

Have been here many times, and the food was pretty good. I would not call it 5 start cuisine, but for the price you pay, it's pretty great. Can't go wrong with all you can eat.

This particular visit the service was terrible. We only saw our waitress once at the beginning to take our drink order. No one checked if we were doing good, etc. The highchair they provided us was dirty and sticky, so I had to wipe it down with baby wipes before we put our daughter in it. I had to go up to the bar to ask for some extra napkins. Once we got up to pay, it took extra time, and we just kind of stood around waiting. No explanation was given as to why it was taking so long to get our bill to the front staff. Overall, the atmosphere was chaotic, and the staff just seemed overwhelmed and not able to attend to guests properly.

Having said all this, I would still say the price and quality of the food is good enough to still go check them out and have a good meal.

The most worest food and expensive Buffet in Canada.
The food is too bad which makes us sick after ate it, even it taste so bad, we ate in many buffets around Canada, and I can tell this one is the worst and did not worth the high price paid in thier junk bad food.
Plus the service is really too bad too.
Not recommend this buffet to any one.

Came to this place for my mother-in-laws birthday on Friday June 30,23. The staff loading the food in the warmers growled in my 13yo daughters ear. Pushed my wife while reaching, placing his armpit over her plate. Spoke to her with a belittling attitude when called on his behavior and proceeded to blame her for the entire incident. Argued with me about his behavior while implying my wife was the one with the problem. Guy was wearing sunglasses while working, Guessing he was too stoned and his eyes were probably bloodshot. Wouldn't surprise me as he was extremely unprofessional in all aspects. We were offered a discount from the on-site management and they were extremely pleasant. I was however a little surprised because they had told me he has behaved in an unprofessional manner several times in the past. If I ever return to this location I will be certain to make sure this employee is not present before I stay. When we come to spend 300 dollars we expect decent service.

Went for a family meal on a Sunday. It was awful. The atmosphere and staff were nothing special, not overly friendly. The food was absolutely horrendous. The prices weren't bad IF the food had been decent. But for 3 of us it was $75. We barely ate one plate of food between the three of us. Drinks are on top of the price. We got water, tap water.gross. Do not go here, I have nothing good to say. Stay away.

Food was good, But a 15% gratuity to bring pop to our table? This is ridiculous.
The price is already higher than most buffets then they charge for pop and pile a gratuity on top.the bathroom floors were sticky and food areas such as nachos and ice cream were not maintained.
Doubt we will go back and not recommend for our family group again.

Most of the Food either bland or overly salty
No one at the carvery station plus the meat was dried out
Butter chicken was huge dried out pieces of tasteless meat with barely any butter chicken sauce which was overly salty
The fried chicken was sad the coating wasn’t crispy and the chicken tasted a bit bland like the only seasoning they use was salt and the meat was dry
The deep fried basa fillet was delicious except they label it as spicy and there is no spice on the deep fried fish
The beef ribs was actually really decent probably the best out of all the food serve there
The grilled veggies didn’t taste like it was grilled more like steamed but it was decent also
I found most of the veggies decent though
The chocolate fountain was nice it had a nice supply of fresh fruits and the soft serve ice cream was good.
Cleanliness need some more attention

Really for this quality of food and service I would expect a lower price per person but at $36 per person it’s not worth it to eat here

It has great variety but the food is pretty average, I'm against their chicken nuggets because I don't even know if it is chicken and they have a sad texture
