This place was good. That's before craft burgers were everywhere. It has failed to keep up with the quality put out by modern burger joints like fiveguys.

It seems the Burger Boy in Red deer Alberta, located in Lower Fairview, was once one of my favorite places to eat. But, the cook has changed and I did not enjoy a certain food that once was my favorite. A poutine. The fries were soft and cold. I ordered extra cheese paid an outrageous $3.00 extra and didn't see the difference. The burger was good. The milkshakes are very delicious. Over all the service was great, the food ok. I would go back again. But I won't ever get their Fries. Curly fries are really good. The prices are a bit too high for the quality.

Food was awesome! Bacon, mushroom cheese burger, onion rings and a chicken ham and cheese burger. My mouth is watering again just typing out the words! Keep up the great work everyone! We'll be back for sure!?

Just do yourself a huge favor and dont get the chickin lets just say you get what you pay for. 9 pice for 27.45 sounds like a great deal untill you get it and cant even get one pice down. Its covered in grease to the point where its soggy and it tastes like old gas station chickin.

I've been coming here for well over a decade. All around 100 proficient serivce here. Quality food, family owned, friendly staff and vibes.

I use to always order from another burger place and thought it was the best then I tried Burger Boy. Burger Boy is hands down has the best burgers! Every time I order it’s always delicious and never mess up my delivery order. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed! And the prices won’t break the bank!

Great home style burgers. Stopped there by accident. We're trying to go to an A&W that didn't exist. Burger boy had much better burgers and it's not like A&W are bad burgers.

This is my absolute favorite place to eat in red deer. The BEST veggie burger and fries. So many veggie burgers are so greasy but this one is absolutely perfect The staff are always so welcoming and have such positive energy. I love the retro vibe in the restaurant.
I want to mention a specific experience with a staff member. My receipt said Karen was at the till so I hope that was her. (Young woman, brown hair in a braid, I think she had a bit of freckles) She was extremely bubbly and had great energy. She was constantly smiling and helped me with everything I needed!

I can honestly say I used to love burger boy but my last two experiences left me extremely disappointed. The chicken burger had a chicken piece as thin as a cheese slice was cold & the beef burgers completely dry and cold we ended up throwing it away and getting something else. Sad because was a staple for us before now won’t be going back ever.

The food was okay, the curly fries were pretty good, but it's hard to ignore how run down the place is. Food was also pretty expensive for the portion sizes given.

The seats are all duct taped together, and it doesn't look like it's seen a reno in years if not decades. I get it's not the most ideal location for high quality, but still was not a great experience and did not give me confidence my food was going to be from a well-maintained and sanitary kitchen if they can't even take care of the place where customers see.

Just read news, this restaurant refused to give tray to a paralyzed skip the dishes driver many times.

Burger took too long - onion rings burnt and had an off taste like the oil hadn't been changed in a while

Always a favorite.just slightly more pricey than most burgers but worth every cent. But Styrofoam take out containers still? You can do better

Got skip from here the other day. Now it's my go-to for days I forget my lunch. Followed instructions and made an AMAZING shroom boy burger. I'd post pics. But it would just be empty wrappers.

Super thin dry tasteless gritty mushroom burger with a super dry bun. Fries crispy on outside mush inside. Banana milkshake tasted like Banana flavoring instead of real Banana. First time here not impressed at all! The cashier was very pleasant though!

The food here is awesome and the service is good too but the area, sketchy and the parking lot sucks! I definitely recommend delivery.

It blows my mind these guys say they need to cook their fries twice to save time. They cook them halfway, let them soak half cooked in grease, then back in the deep fryer to finish cooking what COULD BE the best fries in red deer. They don't know how to cook. There is no reason to cook the fries twice and ruin them. They don't do it because they are too busy, they do it because they can't organize a kitchen. The burgers aren't bad.that's the only reason they got 2 stars

I wish I could tell you what it meant to me to be served by the staff, and let me sit down to eat, even though I cannot wear a mask. This past year and a half has been hell for me, because of the BS and being asked where my mask is. For those of us with an inane fear of wearing one, you have no idea what it means to me to be treated like a human again. Thankyou.

Great tasting burger, loved the spicy fries. Superrrr friendly staff, very welcoming. Love the atmosphere. Definitely worth it. Definitely recommend coming here and trying it out for yourselves. Will not be disappointed.

Decided to slide out and grab some burgers tonight and after finding both 5 Guys and Fatburger closed we decided to hit up Burger Boy. They didn’t disappoint at all! The burgers and fries where fresh and delicious. The bun was so soft it added to the burgers flavour. My boy had a shake and loved the flavour and thickness of it.
From placing our order to having food in hand was a matter of a few minutes they know how to serve people right. Both front end ladies where so nice and greeted everyone walking through the door like they knew who you where. Amazing service!
We will definitely be putting this place on top of our list for Burgers and Fries the next time we have that craving.

Ordered 3 burgers, fries, onion rings and 2 milkshakes. Literally every piece of food had hair in it except the milkshakes. Nasty. Do not recommend, food was great but they need hairnets

Yummy burgers and shakes. Family owed local business 99.9%. 1% cause its a little old but that's maybe part of its charm.

Been going to get the best burgers in Red Deer for 22 years probably eaten close to 600 burgers + all the extras and never had anything but amazing service and the best tasting food allways my hats of to the staff the cooks and owners of Burger Boy° thank you for your unwavering talents and quality.

Service is superb! Food is delicious! I had the Bullseye burger combo which came with two sides so I chose fries and onion rings. Both sides were not greasy and very tasty. Finally I had their peanut butter cup milkshake! What a dream! It’s a shame they don’t have a patio but that’s okay because we took our food to a park to enjoy. Glad to support local! Thank you to owners Dave and Selma and family for operating a fantastic burger shop!

If you're not a local or haven't been in town long, its a hidden gem. The burgers are juicy, the soups and sides are pretty good, and they have a mad selection of milkshakes. There's never a line up, and the staff are the type of friendly you haven't seen since the 80's

Good chilli cheese dog that wasn’t ridiculously messy and the bun stayed in tact. Milkshake was probably the best in Red Deer.

My experiences are mostly through ordering via skip, but I can say the burgers are quite good. They are heavily supported by how good a job the curly fries do, but still nothing to scoff at. The milkshakes are fantastic and the flavor selection is some of the best I've seen in some time, even if they are not worth getting as part of a meal (just take your free drink and order the full priced shake on the side).
Good value for your money, plus it supports local.

Just wow, no words I’m extremely picky over food but love trying new places especially little locally owned places while I travel to support local due to covid. I am beyond happy with this place food was just amazing! Their portions are huge aswell prices are good! Suggest trying this place while in red deer, blows peters out of the park

Peanut butter cup monthly milkshake was to die for! Mozzarella burger was delicious as well. Chili cheese dog was a good mix of lots of toppings but still not too messy to eat. Front counter staff were very friendly and kind. Will certainly stop again!

We have been going to Burger Boy for years and it's still one of our favourite establishments in the entire city, thank you for the many years of great meals and incredible value. You guys are the best!

I loved Burger Boy when I first lived in Red Deer and it hasn't changed much. If you can get past the fact it's in a rough area you're totally in for an old school treat.

The food is your classic old school burger joint and fried chicken fare served with your option of sides including (AMAZING) steak cut fries, (not) spicy curly fries, and old school onion rings. Kids meals come with one side and a fountain drink and standard meals come with two and a fountain drink.

Burger Boy also had old school milk shakes in a ton of flavors with a different "flavor of the month" every month. I totally with Cinnamon Heart was on the menu all the time though.

If I could change anything about the place it would be the processed cheese they use. I'm one of those people that just prefers real cheese and really the price difference isn't that far off (used to work in the industry) so there isn't much reason to use processed, especially for mozzarella. This is the reason I've taken a star off. Seriously I even like their mozzarella burger sauce, which they make themselves, and I won't touch the trash at A&W so USE REAL CHEESE BURGER BOY!

I had just about given up on the local burger restaurants in Red Deer. Burger Boy is old school quality and freshness. They aren't cheap, neither is any other franchise in town, but they surpass the competition in flavor, flavor, and more flavor. They are my only choice going forward.

The fries here are amazing.absolutely fantastic. It’s gotta be the seasoning, or the fact that they’re almost wedge size. But if wedge sized delicious fries don’t do it for ya there’s curly fries, or onion rings. Both delicious as well.their proportions are stellar, you get way more fries here than you typically would anywhere else. Plus their burgers are great, buns are always soft. These guys also make some darn good milkshakes too with lots of flavour options, rootbeer being my go to. Do yourself a favour and grab a milkshake and some fries, you won’t be disappointed

Busy beyond belief. Call ahead if possible, especially during the lunch rush.
That being said our food was hot, fresh and tasted amazing. Didn't wait longer than an average McDonald's, which was pretty quick.

Just did take-out. Ordered a Bulls-Eye-Boy Burger. A mint milkshake. Onion Rings and curly fries.
Delicious burger. Good quality beef, large, juicy patty.really tasty shake, just the right viscosity. You know, thick as possible but doesn’t collapse the straw when sucking up the shake. The onion rings were crispy and tasty. The curly fries were crispy but didn’t have the spicy punch which I was hoping for. Staff was professional and competent but no wow factor.
All in all I loved the food and the experience was quite good.

Probably the best onion rings in town! So good! My fav burger choice is the Mexi Boy with no hot peppers. Absolutely love it!
