Great experience with Burly Boyz. I was initially very stressed with my long distance move as I was not getting anywhere with several moving companies. I then spoke Shelley at Burly Boyz and she was very clear with explaining the process in detail. She was very prompt with addressing my questions. I expected some delays because of the winter, however, the team was very responsive. Barb was very prompt and accommodating with my delivery request. The movers did a great job with both picking up and delivering my belongings. Thank you to the team at Burly Boyz.

Great place to deal with. Staff are professional and on par. They were courteous and well trained to manage all items for moving with ease. Two guys - Two Bedroom Condo - 3 hours.
They come prepared, expecting to pack it all. I had it all in boxes and ready to go for them. They store it for a fee, really great to deal with. Hopefully soon, I will be calling them to move my home back to me, once I get moved in the new year.

Absolutely brutal. I wish I would’ve read the reviews on this business prior to selecting them. The countless one star reviews say it all. They damage your property then find any technicality to wash their hands of any responsibly. I sent many pictures of damage they caused to our belongings and they promptly came up with very lame reasons why they were not going to fix them even though it was their incompetence and lack of care that caused the damage. Brutal company. Avoid it at all costs. There are many reputable movers out there. Stay away from this one!

From the first phone call to the final sign off with Burly Boyz moving the experience was top notch. Everything was explained well through phone calls and emails. Our estimate was reasonable and transparent. Our crew showed up ready and happy to work. Evan, Robbie, Sherwin and Marcus were extremely professional. They moved our belongings with care and in a timely manner. At the end of the day they were still joking and having fun which made the day enjoyable for us!

The initial set up process was great, they got everything arranged perfectly. The crew arrived on time and were at the house for the anticipated amount of time. Very kind group of young men.

The reasons for my 1 star rating came after this point. When my items arrived at my new home a handful of them were damaged (including my mirror, bed frame, etc) and my glass table was completely shattered. I was told that there would be no compensation for any of the damaged items because they were still functioning/usable. I opted not to get the insurance so my shattered glass table was worth $12.

The amount isn’t the reason for the review. It’s the lack of accountability and responsiveness from the company. I moved in February and I still haven’t received the $12. I have had to follow up with the company multiple times to ask where my items were during transit, what the review process was for damaged goods, and the process for the reimbursement.

Having insurance would’ve protected me better and that’s a good best practice moving forward but the communication after shipment has been so subpar that I would not recommend this company.

This was our first experience with Burly Boyz. Being Military, I have moved a lot over the years and used multiple different moving companies. After the experience with the Burly Boyz team, I am going to recommend them to EVERYONE! Craig was easy to deal with when it came time to book the move, and was great to talk to when we had any questions. On the move day, the three person team showed up to conduct our move, and they were absolute machines! Tyler (the driver) with Ali and Rob were absolutely amazing. They were all extremely friendly, hard working, and they took great care with all of our belongings. They were professional throughout the entire process, and at the same time they were relaxed and good to talk with too. All three of them are amazing human beings.

Evan and Asia were great movers! They were very efficient and very nice to work with. They had to carry my sofa up 4 flights of stairs because it was too long to fit in the elevator. Super professional and didn’t complain. Even when it was difficult to get this same sofa in through the front door of my apartment, they figured it out and made it work all while being positive and professional.

I highly recommend Burly Boyz. I’ve used this company twice within 3 years and both times exceptional service.

We had Burly Boyz handle our long distance move from South Surrey to Kimberley at the end of November, and they were so organized and efficient! Ben and Sonny took detailed inventory and loaded up our townhouse, and Paul and Mike unloaded at two locations (storage unit and rental) and they did a fantastic job, arriving right on schedule when the weather was definitely working against them!
The office staff making all the arrangements were so wonderful to work with as well - Connor and Alaina were super responsive and thorough! We definitely recommend the Burly Boyz team!

What started out promisingly for my move from Edmonton to Toronto turned into a horrible experience.
The initial contact with the sales team was handled promptly and professionally, and the quote provided was reasonable. I was advised that my possessions would be shipped by rail and was provided a guaranteed delivery window of 6 to 17 days. While quite a wide range, at least it was “guaranteed. The team that showed up were over an hour late, polite but rather slow. When I booked, I was told that the crew on moving day would be able to provide me with a more precise date for delivery at the other end. When I asked, they said they had no idea and I would need to contact the office. The office said I should continue to follow up and they could give me a more firm date "soon". As I left town and began my own drive to Toronto, I followed up every day with my “moving concierge” but either got no response or was told they did not know yet. It was only downhill from there. After I arrived in Toronto, I was in regular contact with the “concierge” as well as the logistics manager in Vancouver. Neither could give me a sense of when my possessions would arrive. As my “maximum guaranteed” 17 days window came closer, I pressed the company’s representatives for an answer on when my possessions would even leave Edmonton and why they were not already on the way. ONLY THEN was I told the real truth. The company only ships from a location when they have
enough to fill a full train container. My possessions were less than that, which they knew based on both the original estimate and the confirmed inventory when my possessions were picked up. AT NO POINT did they ever advise me that the “guaranteed 6-17 day shipping window” was entirely dependent on
whether they had enough other business to fill a shipping container! Due to their delay and lack of honesty, I began having to incur costs to live without my possessions. The weather went from warm fall weather to cold and snowy. I had no boots, warm coat, gloves, etc, as I had no expectation that I would not see my possessions before winter hit. I advised the company’s
representatives that this was the case and asked whether they would compensate me for these costs and for the delay beyond their “guaranteed delivery window”. I was continually given the run-around on getting any kind of answer. I was told by the “concierge” that she would ask her superiors, but was
made to wait days for any kind of answer. When I repeatedly asked to speak to someone higher up in management, I was told that “ownership” did not speak to customers and that I could only speak to those I was already in contact with. My shipment ultimately arrived 3 full weeks beyond the “guaranteed delivery window”. 38 days for a shipment to get from Edmonton to Toronto! And then, when the movers showed up at my residence, I was told they would not even open the truck until I paid the outstanding balance in full. AND if I did not, then I would be charged additional amounts for “storage” if they drove away without unloading. Essentially, my possessions were being held hostage, regardless of the company knowing there was a dispute over the delay in delivery plus the costs I had to incur, which were more than the $600 discount offered to me.
This company's practices and internal policies, that are never disclosed to customers in advance, should make anyone wary of using them for a move. I did my homework in advance, asked all the right questions and was told whatever I needed to hear to get my business. But once they had my possessions, any kind of reputable customer service stopped. What kind of business, knowing that a customer is extremely unhappy, won’t even have someone with the ability to make a decision speak to
the customer? What started out promisingly, turned into an awful experience and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

The people here are great to work with. But Dan is not a respectable owner or an ethical employer. He has these core values that he enforces in the company but does not follow them himself.

He also has the tendency to fire employees in the slow season without reason or warning.

I would not recommend working for this company.

I had a small move and Burly Boyz was responsive and they provided an inventory list so I could identify exactly what was being moved and get an accurate quote. The price was great and the lowest of the four companies I checked with. The movers were friendly and professional and arrived on time. All items were taken apart and wrapped prior to moving. I paid what was quoted, no extra costs. Very happy with Burly Boyz.

The crew we had were professional and friendly. They worked hard even though we moved in a huge snow storm! We could not have asked for a better experience!

The crew was prompt, professional and courteous. They had a 14 hour day between packing and unloading and persevered and did a great job.

They were very fast, professional and made our move a lot easier and with a lot less stress. They were on time and they moved fast for the whole 5 hours it took us to move. This is the first time I hired professional movers but I’m very happy I chose this company.

On time for appointment and were friendly and very accommodating. The crew that moved me very good workers and careful.

Unfortunately the administrative staff in charge of billing, scheduling, estimating are not very effective at their job. Poor communication and frankly just rude customer service. Jennifer and Patricia were only concerned with collecting payment, and had no regard for completing the job for a young family.

A truck that was too small was sent to move our house. Our garage was left jam packed with stuff, and we were told we'd need to pay for a second trip. When we inquired about how the rest of our belongings would be moved, Patricia lied and said we made a decision not to allow a second trip. In fact, the movers themselves told us a second trip wouldn't be feasible because it was already late at night. No arrangements for next day service, just an incomplete job.

Paying several thousand dollars for a service should leave you satisfied. Unfortunately we're quite dissatisfied. A joke amount of a refund was offered. I would strongly recommend against Burly Boyz, if Jennifer and Patricia's customer service is an indication of the rest of the company.

In the end, I moved the rest of the belongings myself.

Full credit to the actual movers and packers, they were pleasant and did a good job. A couple small things broke, but that's expected when moving a whole house.

We choose Burly Boyz Moving to do our move in Sherwood Park from our house to our Condo and have not a negative thing to say, actually l would recommend them to anyone.

I am trying to get an issue resolved but no one has called me back in three business days. The movers made a huge dent in old home’s door and the new owners take possession soon and we need it resolved. The employees were very nice but they went out for lunch because they were “ahead” of schedule. We still got charged the full rate though? They also fold their blankets up on the clock which I noticed took a really long time… they laid out blankets as to not walk on the floor at the first house but not for our new home and the new home had carpet areas so I didn’t much appreciate that. I just wish someone would step up and resolve the main issue of the dented door. I’m pretty disappointed and will not recommend this company at the present time.

Roughly 4 weeks later, we could compensated for the door.

I saw good reviews and had high hopes. They broke several items and the movers just tried to hide it without telling us. Only delivered HALF of our stuff and have been holding the other half for WEEKS with constant excuses why it hasnt arrived. Their Better Business Bureau should be in question, and that will honestly be my next call. I have never been so dissapointed with a moving company. Please save yourself time and a headache. Look somewhere else. Please, dont make my mistake.

Initially it was a positive experience - the booking and quote process was seamless and quick.

If you are moving out of a condo/apartment be prepared that they will only provide you a 3 day pickup window which is confirmed approximately 3-4 days in advance. This makes trying to schedule an elevator a bit of a nightmare with the strata / property management company. On the morning of the day of the move, we were notified of 5 hour delay in pickup which also created havoc for the elevator booking and meant we had to try to reschedule the booking last minute.

The gents that arrived to pickup were friendly enough however did not seem to be experienced. One was on their phone quite a bit dealing with a personal matter and they did not use dolly's or hand trucks to assist in loading the boxes which delayed the entire moving experience. A 2 hour elevator booking turned into over 4 hours to move out a two bedroom apartment. We ended up helping move boxes to try to expedite the process.

Delivery of the items to the new place was quick (2 day turnaround time from Vancouver to Calgary). The unloading was quicker this time however the two gents were fighting the entire time and one of them was quite rude about getting final payment.

All in all, it was a stressful experience. I wouldn't recommend these guys if you are moving out of a condo / apartment or have time constraints for elevator bookings. We had to pay the strata a cancellation fee for the initial time we booked the elevator of $125 (had to change due to pickup delays), had to pay an after hours elevator fee of $300 for the new pickup time from 7pm to 9pm and then were charged an additional $300 as the movers went way over the allotted booking time.

Emailed the company right away but never got a response from management except for the one mover who was on their phone who called me to apologize for dealing with a personal matter instead of focusing on the move.

So I may have provided my initial review waaaay to early. You only know how good your movers are, until after you unpack. Burly Boyz moved my family from one home, into their storage facility for 4 months and then into our new home. Somewhere in between my piano was damaged, two vases and 60” TV that Burly Boyz packed was broken beyond repair. We paid for the insurance and was only compensated for the broken TV. IF YOU HAVE VALUABLE OR FRAGILE ITEMS THIS IS NOT THE MOVING COMPANY. We are yet to be compensated for the broke items after 2 months and getting the run around

We had such great service from this company and two men especially; so polite and respectful. We would absolutely recommend Tyler Habdas and his colleague Jonathan Braconnier; both of them very helpful and also skilled at their job. Tyler and John took very good care of our furniture, very professional all day!

The movers was very careful and worked together well. There was absolutly no damage to any of our furniture. I would recommend Burly Boyz they did excellently for our move.

I had a move booked for 8: 00 a.m. On a Sunday morning They never showed up.at 9: 45 a.m. I finally got ahold of dispatch they canceled on me right on the spot without an explanation or even an apology, They took $200 deposit off of my credit card which still hasn't been returned.be very careful with this company they are extremely unreliable and unprofessional. 2 days prior to the move they sent me an email confirming that they were coming it's unbelievable what they did to me and the grief that they caused me, Sitting at home all packed up ready to go waiting on a moving truck that is not showin up. I want you to think about that before you use this company

I didn’t end up going with this company because we didn’t end up moving. I just wanted to give a shout out to the woman that helped me with the estimate. Really easy to work with. Calm and professional. She obviously knows what she’s doing.

Burly Boyz are our go to movers. My whole family uses them. They are so polite, quick and efficient. Never have to worry about them taking their sweet time or being overcharged. I also love that they provide and re-use boxes to lessen the environmental impact associated with moving. Highly recommend!

My move ended up being on the hottest day of the year. They showed up and immediately got things going. Their sense of humor, willingness to help, polite professionalism, careful practices, and diligent handling of my things and the residence were outstanding. I am so grateful to Joshua and his crew. HIGHLY recommend. I don't want to move again but if I do, they're the first I'd call, hands down.

The booking process was seamless and Liz ensured all of my questions were answered thoroughly and in a timely manner. The quote we received before the moving date was very reflective of what we paid, so much so that we actually paid $100 under what was quoted! The moving crew on the day of the move showed up 5 minutes early (after calling and notifying us), were VERY efficient, personable and friendly during the move! They took great care of every item from a box of towels to our art pieces! We had BB move us from Alberta to BC and could not have been more impressed with the crew that moved us out of our house. As it's been said before if I could give this business no stars that's what I would do. The representation of a company is largely based on who represents it and the representation I received from 'Burly Boyz' is just awful. As a customer paying for a service any questions I have about charges should be dealt with in a professional manner. When asked about certain charges I received I was communicated back with disrespect and that my concerns did not matter. I then escalated my concerns to upper management in which they could care less about what I had to say. As a message to upper management and the owners of this pathetic company. The way you are conducting business is a clear message that you do not care about the service you are providing. I will make sure that everyone I know and can reach through all platforms will not use your service.

Well this company does deserve a 5 stars from me. I would have given more if that was possible. As I was searching for a good company for my move from Alberta to BC, I come across Burly Boys and decided to give them a shot based on their reviews.
I talked to Milan to get a quote and got the ball rolling. After agreed to a minimum weight price, I decided to give it a go.on the moving day, Drae, Chris and Brendan shows up to my home on time. I was surprised to see how professional they are. Each item was tagged with a unique number and everything they moved was wrapped in the blanket apart from our boxes. They Provided extra bubble wraps and covers for the mattresses which we asked them to use to cover certai items. They didn't rush as all and made sure that everything is safe and covered while loading in the truck. They almost took 6 hours to finish loading and made sure that we are happy with their service.
Now the waiting period began and but obvious we were a bit stressed after hearing all the horror moving stories. But we were pleasantly surprised to see nothing was damaged at all. We got our whole furniture as it is and again Drae and Chris came to unload the truck as well. Drae and Chris are the most hard working men I have met in a while and they are respectful and professional as well. They sure deserve to be mentioned specially. They again made sure to put everything where we wanted in our place and reassemble the furniture they disassemble while loading. I will again use them whenever I need my next move. Thank you again for making this move seamless and less stressful for us.
