I came in to get my nephew a birthday gift. He just started fishing with his friends and spoke about getting a rod. I knew nothing about fishing until I had Doug help me pick out a tackle box and items to fill it plus a rod. My nephew was very happy to receive this gift.
Fantastic and knowledgeable staff at the service desk and archery dept. They delt with an issue for me that the Cab North was not able/willing to. They went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I left satisfied. Thank you so much and I will make the Cabelas in the South of Edm my go to from now on.
Excellent place to buy anything related to outdoors. It has all the professional tools and staff to meet your needs. I was in the store for some gifts and I think I could've spent the whole day there.
Great place to shop for outdoor gear. All professional tools and staff are here to meet your needs. I bought some gifts in the store and thought I could have spent the whole day there.
Linda in customer service helped me out this morning by honouring a price I was given last night. I truly appreciate this as times are tough and the item had been on my wish list for a very long time. Thank you for treating me so well I appreciate it.
Went to spend some money but they only have one person working at firearms counter. Guy working at optics/knives counter can’t leave his post to help me with firearms….
Poor experience with the gun/optic counter staff. One person tried helping me, however was not familiar with the product they were showing me. The computer said they had two vortex sights in stock but they could only find the display model. I was offered a 5% discount and was okay with that. Then the staff wasn’t sure if all the pieces were in the box so they asked another member and asked about discounts and then I was offered a 10% discount. I was then passed off to the other member. Things are going great for me. Then as I was about to get rung up through the til when another staff member came up and said they have a brand new one in the back. So they went to the back and the second person who was helping me now left and said the other person would help me. As I stood there ANOTHER staff member came up and asked me if I needed help. At this point I was fed up. I said I just want to pay for my items and leave. Discount was no longer existent. Overall an awful experience. 0/5 stars. It took four counter staff and one cashier to help me buy one item that was on the shelf. I work in a very demanding customer service based industry and this is just pathetic. Step up your game. This store has so much potential but needs to stop hiring morons. The cashier was great though! Very friendly. 5/5 stars for Chloe!
I traveled 400 to buy a garmin 700i gps when I got to the store they said we are out of stock after waiting for half an hour while your store server was visiting with a young lady then another server came up and filled me jn telling me they were out off stock yet your website says that you still have them in stock what gives here seams like some one don't give a toss about you or his job or store reputation
Way too busy. Not enough cashiers working on boxing day. Got there around 3 pm on boxing day and the line up was back to firearms. Just walked out without shopping. Was not willing to buy anything just wait for the 3 cashiers to me out god knows how long later.
Fabulous selection. However, I went looking to spend on Xmas gifts but the first staffer in the hunting knife section just didn’t seem to want to help with that. I was getting very frustrated because I didn’t know what to get my husband when a much younger staffer was very helpful and kept checking back with me as I continued to shop. Kudos to that guy.
If you hunt, fish, camp this is your store it is even great place just to check things out see animals.well.stuffed ones but still worth a visit from time to time.
Excellent service, knowledgeable and humorous staff. Extremely pleasant shopping experience. Clean establishment and so so so very organized in all areas. Greeted warmly and with genuine respect upon entering Cabela's. Really, they have absolutely everything that you need for an amazing outdoor experience.
An absolutely fantastic experience at Cabela's this afternoon! Had some top notch assistance from Parker in footwear (really appreciate the great suggestions and your knowledge of the products). Then on to another department and I was fortunate to have Stephanie help me out, so curious, helpful and kind! And last but not least, the amazing Elizabeth at cash. Elizabeth was amazing as she dealt with some not so kind customers. Always a smile on her face, sincerity in her voice and the most pleasant demeanour. Thanks everyone for a great experience! We will definitely be back and will recommend this store to our friends!
Their reasoning was that someone didn't pick up their dogs mess. Customer service also informed me they don't have the "sanitation supplies required to clean after them" meaning they must not have any paper towels or multi purpose cleaner.
To the dog owner who didn't pick up your dogs dump, thanks for ruining it for everyone.
Cabelas was a real disappointment. Wanted to buy hunting boots but Noone in the Dept. Noticed staff standing around talking to each other. Nobody 'offered' to help. Had to find someone to ask. Same with Cabelas in NS.
From welcoming reception at entrance to billing counter, the staff is very Knowledgeable and helpful. The store carries A to Z high quality camping stuff
Very friendly staff. Very helpful. There was an item not yet on the shelves and the associate got someone to bring it out for me so I could view it for purchase. The cashier was also very informative about their round up program to donate to the education fund.
Warm atmosphere, a little too uncomfortable for my feel, I meaN if I was getting payed for my posts thru promotional giveaways, or tHe mad advertising my appearance alone gets a place business, then I'd have nicer things to say but its just the usual people using my MiNds openness to see what another guys mind is like, then I get the threats, always with the threats
Great service and knowledgeable staff at the gun counter. Happy to answer any questions and provide suggestions for optics and proper mounting/pairing to certain firearms.
Other stuff were nice and helpful. BUT the only one working in Archery was on the phone for 30 minutes laughing and talking About Canadian tires trail cams send images to your phone
Got pellets, brine and some different seasonings. Took my 5 year old around to show her all the different animals. Staff is always super happy and positive!
I will nwver buy anything from this place again as long as i live took my friend here to help him pick out a new rifle the guy couldent be bothered to go get the caliber he wanted out of the back then couldent be bothered to find the scope we wanted to look at then didnt know and couldnt be bothered to find someone who knew what optilock scope moints were then instead of the next day it took 3 days to mount the scope theyre lucky my buddy didnt have time to go to a real gun store honestly ivw nevwr seen anything that horrific in my life
Great selection, OK prices, but wow, Manager Steve needs to learn to not scream at staff so loudly that customers can hear. A nice staff member was paging for him, to no avail, so Screamin' Steven decided to have an outburst about it. Maybe be a little quicker on your feet, Slow Steve?
I was looking for an emergency beacon and couldn't find one at the usual outdoor stores. I'm not a hook and bullet guy but heard Cabela's had the Garmin Inreach so I went to the one at Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary. Ken helped me understand the difference between each model and the other brands and he knew all the plans offered. Ken was super knowledgeable and I bought one. After a multi day climbing trip Ken was proven right. The Garmin explorer was perfect and exactly what I needed and wanted. Thanks Ken! Best professional, knowledgeable and kind service I have had anywhere- ever. Thank you.
I’ve been to this certain store several times, a very frequent customer along with the rest of my family. The selection is good, It may be a bit pricey but there’s nothing that can be done about that necessarily, as well as a wonderful display of animals, but for a store/line of stores that preaches good customer service comes first, you wouldn’t be able to tell. There is a certain manger at the store. I think his name is Reggie. He obviously has been there for awhile, because more than one or twice several members of my family have seen him or experienced him being extremely rude to not only us as well as other customers and their questions, as well as the employees that work there, including yesterday when my mother visited. He is unprofessional and rude and does not deserve his power. The staff in clothing as well as archery which is where we shop the most were very kind and helpful as well as most of the other sections so I’m very grateful for that, but I hope not all management becomes under influence of one bad person. That being said; If you want to go to Cabelas, go for the experience of the store and scenery, but if shopping make sure you come in with a semi- clear idea of what you want to buy!
Witnessed a new cashier in training that politely asked a male customer that was shouting at his wife/girlfriend to please lower his voice. The male then started shouting at the cashier that kept her composure and simply asked him to not speak to her that way. The cashier was fired. SHAME ON YOU MANAGEMENT. The customer is not always right!
We just keep going back. Everything hunters need and a whole lot of other stuff I think I need, patio lanterns, cooking pots, toy guns, cups, hmmmmmm and the list keeps growing! Oh a don't forget the clothing, only place around where you can get Spring or Fall outerwear - Rain&Wind&StillCold!
Very uneducated young staff that don't know what there talking about. Hard to find info sometimes. Went in there just before bird season and tries to tell me that they didn't sell bird licenses. Like really!
I received great help, after I asked for it. Unfortunately I found that they already in the process of wrapping up a lot of the seasonal stuff, limited display items, limited selections (of cots and tents)
Cabela’s is a great store and there is always something new to look at. There is a ridiculous selection of goods and we found the tent we were after easily. We love the tent and couldn’t be happier. The only downside to this trip was that it was difficult to find someone to help us with seeing if there was a size of hiking boots in stock. Other than that it was a great visit!
Great place to shop online. Inspected my purchase prior to loading. They loaded it on the back of my truck. Even provided useful tips along with my bill of sale.
I would have 5 stars. Until the cashier. Walked in and a very nice lady helped me find the Plano Totes. She went out of her way to help me. I went to the cashier and standing at the "line up here sign", people walk ahead to the other cashiers. I watched 3 people, walk up to other cashiers and walk out before I got to a chasier. Yup, won't be back. No wonder online is so popular.
Employee Danika was great –I called and was able to put a product (the last available one showing in stock) on hold for same day pick-up. When I got there, the employee at the entrance (didn't catch her name) pointed me in the right direction for the pick-up area.
Overall, a quick and easy trip with helpful/friendly workers.
A guy named "tate" in the fishing department needs to own his own fishing store. Incredible knowledge and EXTREMELY helpful. I love this store but love it even more because of him. He guided us through everything and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Id give him 10 stars if it were an option. I will go back specifically to see him.
Loved it here, its better then the Northside one because its bigger and more fun and of course they are selling their yummy yummy fudge again which is amazing!
Cabela's decided to cover the cost of fixing the damage to my rifle. Thank you.
Previous Review: Bought a scope from Cabela's Edmonton (South), Cabela's installed my scope mounts and you can see by looking at the photos the scope mounts popped out. The Gun Department Manager at Cabela's diagnosed the cause to be improper (wrong) scope mounts that were installed by Cabela's staff. The General Manager of Cabela's is refusing to correct the damage done to my rifle which is the receiver thread being stripped. This is unacceptable from a reputable company.
I was amazed with the customer service that I received from Bradley who works in the firearms section. He had given me very fair appraisals on my firearms and explained in great detail as to how he came to his conclusion on those prices. Over the course of two days, he helped me price match a new 14" Benelli supernova tactical shotgun with warehouse prices. I felt like I didn't need to fight for a deal or pull any teeth. Bradley was true to customer service and went the extra mile to help me obtain the best deals.
If your into the outdoors its your one stop shop. Great selection of things you wouldn't think would be there like spices and bbq sauce. Check their sales and you will always find some great stuff.
It’s a Cabellas.camping stuff, usually fancy brand names they have made deals with. Not my favourite outdoor store but also has some cool things. Great for window shopping
It's Cabela's, it's my go to for camping/outdoor stuff. To be honest, sometimes I'll just go walk around and look at stuff in there for fun. It's a real pick-me-up
I felt like a kid in a candy shop, so much stuff I want in one place. Got some wood chips and a crazy hot sauce pack.
I had to take some deep breaths and gain some major self control when going through the barbeque and camping sections. It physically hurt to walk away.
This store literally has everything you will need for outdoor fun. I honestly have always tried to avoid it to support the smaller businesses but they are few and far between so when shopping around, Cabela's won't disappoint. I only give them 4 stars because of the products they put the Cabela's brand on. I've purchased a few of their branded products in the past and they are sub par (for the most part). So just throw some caution to the wind when comparing Cabela's branded products to other brands. Other then that, they have a pretty awesome store layout and lots of gear to look at so enjoy!
Stephanie was so helpful. She helped me the other day. Her sales skills were amazing and I believe she went above and beyond helping me. She helped me over in camping and even though I wasn't able to get the product I wanted, she took me to the back of the store and helped me place an order. I mentioned that I was uncomfortable going camping for the first time. She explained numerous ways to make my camping experience more comfortable and safer. As a first time camper, she educated me on bear spray and now I feel more comfortable having something like that with me. Clearly, she knows her stuff. I will go back to Cabela's again and will talk to her in the future (if I survive lol)!
Phenomenal staff at this location. We went in tonight to look at bows for hunting, not knowing the first thing about them, and not ready to buy yet. We were helped out by Mason, who was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and awesome to work with. He took the time to make sure we understood exactly what to look for in a good hunting bow, he let us try one out on the archery range, and he gave us info on where to find more resources to make a decision on a bow to purchase. I can’t say enough good things about this guy; whatever he’s getting paid, it’s not enough. We’ll be back to spend a lot of money at this store almost entirely because of him.
Lots of gear for the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, camping and apparel. They have it all here. They sell rifles, ammo and accessories. Fishing rods, fly rods, tackle and accessories. Tents, tables and chairs. Cooking equipment. Sausage making. They have free seminars almost every weekend.
Good place with wide variety of stuff. The price were ok and staff was nice and hardworking. The management was good and knowledgeable. Recommended place for shopping
Bought $400 worth of Garmin GPS products as a gift for my son. Asked one of the sales reps for the correct accessories to mount the GPS to a motorcycle. He gathered up all of the parts and walked me to the cash. Went to install it on my son's motorcycle last weekend before going on a trip. Not only did they sell me the wrong cradle for the unit, it fit so poorly that it caused scuffing of the GPS unit. Called to request an exchange of the cradle since it was their mistake. Manager wouldn't do anything for me since it had been purchased outside of their 90-day policy. It is a 3-hour drive return to their store. Could have bought the correct cradle through Amazon for a fraction of the cost, delivered right to my door. See ya never Cabela's!
Decent place for BBQ gear. The commercial grade vacuum sealers are top notch. The guns, well there's way too many guns for my taste, feels like some insane villains armory in a movie, but if you need a gun i suppose this is a good choice. = The nuts and candy are good too. High quality gelatins
Lucked out and went there on a kid's activity day. Found the shoes I wanted on sale. They keep the roster almonds and the fresh fudge right by the checkout. Very sneaky.
Expensive for a few of their products, but the staff is very knowledgeable and can really help you out. If you know how much things are supposed to cost it's pretty great to go there for the people's experience with everything.
I absolutely hate this place, I spend to much money on gear. Their selection is the best in town, staff for the most part well informed and helpful, throw in competitive prices and you have a recipe for a great man cave supply store. Just picked up a super level wind baitcaster and rod, tried it out and was extremely pleased. Would certainly recommend this place. Use some caution on some camping gear so I feel some items there are over priced
Better than the one on the north end. This one has a gun library where people sell their used firearms and that's what I personally love about this location.
In 2019 you think they would keep a gun registry. RCMP requested the serial number, I could provide the date I purchased and staff was unwilling to help. I will be going to Mornville for all my future long rifles and accessories.
They have a room called the library where you can sit in a comfortable chair and observe beautiful firearms. If there was beer it would literally be heaven.
Pricing is hit or miss.some things are a good deal and others are marked way up. Not many options now that wholesale sports is gone. Usually find what you're looking for though
I bought a pair of shoes at the south-side Cabelas, I hardly even wore them and after 2 months the soles started falling apart and disintegrated. I took them back and wanted some compensation as the shoes were obviously no good and should last much longer. The manager was very rude and said he would not do anything, not even a discount on a new pair. If this was Marks Work warehouse they would have replaced them on the spot. Very disappointed, as our family has spent thousands at this store over the years. We will no longer be going back. Never buy shoes at Cabelas. I expected so much more from Cabelas.
This store is freaking amazing. You can find almost everything u need and they have some great sales. Salespeople are really friendly. Cashier guy not so much. Clean bathroom too. I love this store.
Very organized and friendly staffs, lots of parking, very clean bathrooms, only complaint is the online pick up, it is always slow and all the way to the back.
