Cafe Amore Bistro

I can't speak to the food here, but wanted to add my two cents. We had no reservations and arrived as a walk in on a Saturday night. We walked in, and the man greeted us warmly. There were two patrons ahead of us (and I'm assuming they were either regulars or friendly acquaintances) as they were greeted warmly and by their name.

As we didn't have a reservation (on a Saturday night), and it would soon be packed, he had to turn us away as there wouldn't have been enough time to enjoy the meal.

I was struck by his graciousness and genuine response. The atmosphere, ambiance, and friendly response made me disappointed we weren't able to dine here, but next time I'm in Edmonton I'm going to make a reservation.

My wife and I just had a date night with fantastic food and service, our waitress Kelly was amazing and gave great suggestions on our meal, the ambassador was so friendly he made you feel like family!

Highly recommended place to go to relax without feeling rushed

This place will bring your tastebuds straight to Italy. My first time going was Thursday last week, and it will not be my last. The cocktails were unique and delicious! The place was busy even on a weekday, so be sure to make a reservation, and come with an appetite!

Overpriced and tasteless. I had the Trufi I pomodorini pasta that was overcooked, my stomach hurt all night. The pomodorni (cherry tomatoes) pasta had literally 3 Cherry tomatoes and the chicken in the pasta was the processed one you find in subway sandwich.
The chefs special was Porchetta and rice for only $40 …a piece of dry meet over tasteless rice-cooker style rice.
Save your money as this combo plus two drinks cost $170.

We had the most beautiful mom daughter date night.
Would have also made for a perfectly romantic date night.
3 min from our hotel near Kingsway mall, we ate at cafe Armour bistro, greeted and escorted to our table by our welcoming usher. Mentioned to our server, Alan, (who was very knowledgeable with the menu items & very accommodating) that we would have to skip appetizers because we had only 50 min to get to a candlelight concert. They rushed our order of Amour Prescatore. It was the best seafood pasta we ever had! The ambiance, live sultry jazz singer / musician set a locely mood as we dined. We will go back for a planned longer time. Outstanding service, food, ambiance. Highly recommend

We really enjoyed the food, service and ambience of this place. Staff were very kind and went above and beyond to make you feel special even if the place was packed. There was a lovely evening entertainment that made the entire time we spent there more special.

Food is good overall but every now and then something will be off. Like the risotto won't be seasoned properly, or the lobster Mac and cheese will taste plastic-y, etc. They're very good about fixing the problem though and they make sure you're happy before you leave.

I discovered this place on Instagram and really wanted to give it a try. My boyfriend took me there for my birthday last night. The service was excellent and our waitress was a delight (I thoughther name was Tena but the receipt said Tamara). My boyfriend had the Tartufo E Pomodori and I had the Gnocchi Bolognese Rose. Both were very delicious. For our dessert we decided to go with the Nutella mousse parfait. And omg that hit the sweet spot (our lovely waitress recommended it). Afterwards on my way home I mentioned how it reminded me of comfort food but in a more classic way. Overall, I couldnt have picked a better place to enjoy my birthday dinner at. I will be back with my family next time.

Big portions! Very cozy, very romantic spot with live music on Saturdays. Food was great although I think sharing would be the way to go. Everyone coming out had a doggy bag in hand.

We absolutely love this place for special occasions. That lobster Mac and cheese is to die for and we love all the appetizers!

These guys are consistently excellent. I've visited this restaurant a handful of times and every time I have been entirely satisfied. The service is excellent, the people are friendly and welcoming and the food is outstanding. This place is deservedly popular so the dining room is usually quite busy. The atmosphere here can be a bit frenetic but if you're into good food this place is definitely worth a visit.

Family owned resteraunt putting out absolutely delicious food at a cheap prices. Perfected recipes made with quality ingredients.

Always great service and food whenever I come here. The portions are large and I always get to bring some home to have later! Definitely my favourite Italian restaurant.

Great home made Italian food in a casual and welcoming atmosphere. Staff are upbeat and work hard to make your meal special.

The Service was very amazing. I enjoyed eating Lobster Ravioli for dinner tonight. The Caesar Clamato Juice was very tasty. Also enjoyed my first time. I'll definitely come back again next time any time. Whenever if it's on the way to school or from School after my post secondary education classes.

Still our favorite place though I'm a little sad they have taken my favorites off the menu. One being the older style chicken marsala and two the shrimp platter. It was the show stopper when we would entertain friends out.
I have discovered some new favorites in the process though.

The go to place for authentic Italian meals. Very nice atmosphere, almost romantic. Waitresses and all staff are super friendly. The food is very tasty and filling and a fantastic drink selection. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Food was plentiful, so much flavour, rich sauces, very nice presentation. You will not leave hungry. Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Wow! Oh and reasonable prices especially considering the quality and quantity!

The food and customer service here is awesome. We ordered the bruschetta, lobster ravioli and Bolognese. Everything was so tasty and delicious! Best Italian place in Edmonton!

Came in and had a wonderful dinner

For an appetizer tried the mussels in a white wine sauce. The dish was easily big enough for a single persons entree and had a great balance of sweetness from the wine and acidity from the sauce

The polo Marsala was great, the prosciutto salt paired superbly with the risotto and the sauce overall

The pescatore main I tried was absolutely massive. I barely finished half of it. The prawns were cooked perfectly and it was a nicely flavoured Rose

My only regret was not trying dessert but with the portion size it was something I just couldn’t help.

Ordered the carbonera and the Quattro formaggio for takeout on a quiet afternoon for lunch.

I don't remember the food here being this disappointing. But both dishes were equally lacking.

The carbonera had generous portions of pork but aside from the pork, the pasta was overly soft and the carbonera was bland, lacked any real taste of egg or parmesan, and was exceptionally greasy.

The Quattro formaggio had the look of a sabbaro bulk pasta purchase except again, exceptionally greasy. Literal pools of oil were on the surface of the dish.

I can't comment on the service because we did not stay in but unfortunately the food itself does not leave me wanting to come back any time soon when high quality pasta is available elsewhere in town.

I've been here a number of times and have always enjoyed the food. When I got there around 630 last night, they had run out of lobster so I was disappointed that I couldn't have what I had wanted to order. Food came out in a timely manner and tasted great overall. If you are wondering/if it's important for you to know, only one member of the staff was masked.

This is a great Italian restaurant. We have been here a couple times, and both times enjoyed the food. This time we ate outside beside the tent which had live entertainment for the evening. It was a great experience. The owner (who we just met) said they do this every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. With the live entertainment the atmosphere was excellent for a nice casual dinner with friends or a date night with your loved one.

Delicious food and an amazing atmosphere. There's quite a bit of parking for the location as well.

I really wanted to impress some VIP clients of mine so I told them I would pay to cater a Father's Day dinner for them and their 12 family members. I was pretty excited and raved about Cafe Amore. I called the restaurant 2 weeks before the dinner event and they were fantastic. They went through the platter menu with me and told me they would deliver the food and they would take care of everything. This was perfect because I have such a crazy schedule and wanted it all taken care of in advance so I did not have to think about it. Cafe Amore said they would call the day before the event to confirm the order. On the actual day of the dinner, I realized I never got that confirmation call the day before. I tried phoning them at least 15 times and kept getting a busy single. Then on my last try, it said that the number was not in service. I know it was for sure the right number because I copy and pasted it from their website. I thought they must've went out of business. I only had 2 hours till my client's big dinner event and the only restaurant that could do such a big order in such short notice was a neighbourhood pub close by. The pasta and salad they whipped up was okay but truthfully I was pretty humiliated after raving about how great the food would be. Later I found out from others that Cafe Amore was still in fact in business so I have no idea what happened to their phone line that day and why no one had called me.

Cristo of Cafe Amore and staff hosted my hubbys' milestone 70 B-Day. It was incredible. The food was outstanding and our servers Vincent & Danny were fabulous. They served out in the heat with speed and precision that had our whole party in awe. We go often to Cafe Amore because the food and service never disappoints us. They treat you like family and serve with detail to attention, its feels fabulous. Cristo had the accordion man, Umberto play for us and he's always amazing. There was no where else I wanted to host my hubby's big 70! Thank you Vincent and Danny.

A lovely, secluded restaurant that perfectly blends romantic tones with Italian culture.
Filled with warm people who treat you like family; staff serve you with a smile on their face and laughter is commonplace.

This had to have been the best experience I've had in a long time for restaurants. The service from the employees was absolutely phenomenal, food was amazing, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was gorgeous and very inviting. The italian covers they play of songs really adds to the whole aesthetic of the restaurant. Let alone the location is so close. Will show up again with others so they can experience what me and my Fiancé have experienced tonight.

Great food, awesome patio. The service was a little lacking on this visit, but in fairness I suppose everything just reopened and our server may have been new/a little rusty. We'll be back again.

This is one of my families favourite places. It has been too long since we were sitting and enjoying great food with the best and kindest servers. So tonight, living almost an hour away, we drove in, ordered take out, drive back and had a feast. Worth the drive and every penny. Thank you to the staff, management and owners for making sure we can still enjoy your fantastic food. You need more mason jars though, we were hoping for your sangria.

The best Italian meal that I have had. Dinner pack #1 Chicken parmigiana for 2 at $55 is a great deal. Leftovers for lunch on Sunday. Well done!

Worst food I have ever had, salads are not made fresh just prepared and put in the fridge, had Chicken Parmesan for my main course, cheese must of been off or something becuse I had to send it back and very little taste to the food.

Very friendly staff. Quantity over quality. Nice atmosphere. Tons of salt in the bolognese sauce. Overpriced.

The woman in the red polo who served my family and I tonight was amazing and seemed ecstatic than the rest of the staff members. I started out my dinner with the spinach salad which was wonderful but was let down by the sweet curry pasta dish. Unfortunately it was utterly disgusting and I couldn’t take another bite of it after my third time trying to convince myself that it was somewhat tasteful. The sauce was WAY too sweet (even though it was in the title of the dish, I expected that it wouldn’t taste like a dessert because curry is supposed to be flavourful and aromatic of spices) masked the curry taste and did not have any curry flavour whatsoever. I was too disappointed to bring it up to the staff. The price of the sweet curry pasta ($26) did not own up to the dish it self.

We always have a wonderful time here. Everything is perfect and it's a family affair which makes the experience memorable and special. Thanks guys for helping us end 2018 on a good note and we wish you all continued success in the future.

Been here 4 times now and it has always been a good experience with really good food and huge portions. They have a very nice selection of cocktails including a delicious old fashioned that's smoked right on the bar. My most recent visit featured a live guitarist playing acoustic covers of Christmas songs which definitely added to the atmosphere.

Go. Eat. Eat. Eat. These people KNOW how good food is made and how to welcome the hungry. I will be returning again and again.

The ceasar was something out of a fairy tale! I have never had one that resembled a piece of art! Shrimp, bacon, pickle, olives, horseradish.wow! The pasta was great and the portion was enough to feed me 3 times.

Service was great, the food came out very fast! We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy so, I recommend making reservations. I ordered the Chipotle rose and my husband ordered the sweet curry signature pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly and there were great flavours, but for me personally there was a bit too much sauce for me, but that's just personal preference. We would definitely go again and recommend this place. A little on the pricier side, but you get big portions. We only ate half our pasta so we ended up getting the rest packed up. Still tasted great the next day.

A must-try for italian food in the city. Amazing service, most times I've been, someone shakes my hand at the door to welcome me, waiters have always been very polite and service has never taken too long. Food is absolutely delicious. Pasta dishes are between 20-30$ for the most part, and are well worth the price. They also have more basic pastas that are considerably cheaper, and also very delicious. Portions are quite large, I usually have lunch the next day as well. I highly recommend this restaurant

My new favourite restaurant in Edmonton! The lasagna was the best I have ever had, the staff were very friendly and there was a live Acordian player to set the mood in this family run Italian restaurant. We expected to pay way more than we did for our meal. We were served a complimentary drink for our Anniversary afterwards to send us off with a handshake and congrats. We will definitely be back!

One of my absolute favourite restaurants in the city. The food is always so delicious and the service is exceptional. Most times when I have had dinner at Cafe Amore, the owner has introduced himself and made sure that everything was meeting our expectations. Love this place and highly recommend!

We’ve come here very often and have had an amazing experience each time with friends and family. But today I was very disappointed with the service today. When we arrived. We were stuck waiting at the front for a long time with the restaurant barely full. Then when we’re seated it felt like our server forgot us as it took about 5-10 minutes to get even water. Then another 10 minutes for her to come take our order. I didn’t even want to order another drink because i didn’t want it to come at the end of the meal. It took a good 20 minutes to get our food, considering it was the special of day and even then the food tasted very bland and the meatball was so dry. She didn’t check on our table for another 15 minutes into our meal. And that was the end of her attention to our table. No asking if we’d like more refill on our waters or a small plate to share. After finishing though and waiting for another 10 minutes for our server to pack our food and the bill we had to wave down the other server who promptly packed and gave us our bill and took our payment while we watched our server attend to another ‘larger’ table who had come after us, ordered after us and yet they still somehow managed to have gotten their food, packed and pay their bill before us. Least to say I was not very impressed to have spent an hour and a half here.
I probably will eventually go back. But probably never for lunch anymore.

Panini service stops at 4pm, don't make the mistake I did. Then again the chicken parm is pretty dam good. So it worked out.

The food is always excellent, from appys to salads to entrees. Although the entrees are expensive for a piece of meat and a large portion of pasta. The drinks are very pretty and tasty. I am writing this review on my most recent experience with a large table and a 1200.00$ bill. I have worked in the service industry for 18years and have never had an experience like this. Our waiter could not multitask and was not very friendly or apologetic or anything to make up for it. I bad ordered a pimms cup which never came so after 20mins I said nevermind I'll take a bottle of wine. I'll never know if I was charged for it because his way of having us pay was reringing everything in as people left. So we go over what I had and I paid but at the end he told the last person there was 200.00 missing. We said show us the bill of what is remaining and we'll pay that. But he couldn't provide it. We paid but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

This is a great little secret spot with amazing food. The service was fantastic. A bit pricey but worth every penny.

Casual atmosphere, music, good food and service. They had some interesting looking cocktails, and our food was delicious. My husband had the seafood with linguine and it was a generous helping. I had a simple pasta penne with sauce with a meatball. We had tirimisu and the chocolate pear ice cream for dessert.
Our meal arrived timely with friendly service.
If I could have one wish it would be for homemade pasta.

One of my favorite restaurants with excellent food and service. That they are open on Mondays is also a bonus. I often meet with friends here: Individually ordering a small daily pasta and and haring a big salad makes for a wonderful lunch.

Food is delicious and staff are friendly. I was there for my birthday and I got a birthday treat and a gift certificate for my age. You have to go on your actual birthday:)

The very best Italian food I've ever had. The menu and wine selection were fantastic and the staff is excellent. My friends and I ended up staying until they were closing just chatting and relaxing.that's how good the atmosphere is. A little formal but very relaxed, absolutely perfect and permanently added to our must visit again list.

If you want to eat dinner here, yes you will have to make a reservation! Why, because it is a gem! Small restaurant with very excellent homemade Italian cuisine. They make a new homemade soup daily so you likely won't run into the same one, ever. Yes I was disappointed once when they charged me for a second pop without telling me there would be a cost. But that doesn't take away from the delicious food or the friendly staff. Anyone who puts low star ratings because of minor inconveniences to their days are uneducated, ignorant, miserable people with nothing better to do with their lives. If you want to feel like you've eaten a little piece of Italy, then this is your spot here in edmonton!

Cafe Amore Bistro Thank you for a delightful yet home cooked meal experiences. Had the special Cajun Cream sauce linguini with Prawns and mussels.absolutely delicious full of flavour with a nice hint of spice for my pallet. I would most certainly recommend this place to anyone that wants that small taste of Italy. My service was on point and guided me with all my questions. Next time she can choose for me! Thanks Torri!
