My partner and I decided to try this restaurant out as it was in the area. We tried 6 types (taco trio) of tacos between us and their guacamole dip and they were delicious! Service was great too; we had a very bubbly waitress, whose name I can’t remember (she was a redhead with long hair), she kept checking in on us. The ambiance was very colourful and fun; parking was easy. We definitely don’t regret trying this place out!
This is the place to be! The food is amazing and high quality, the drinks are good too. Our bartender Ashley suggested us the chorizo cheese dip and she was absolutely right about how good it was. She was friendly and helpful with her suggestions and we will absolutely be back again
I visited Calavera Cantina on a Tuesday Night for dinner with 3 other colleagues of mine from work. We enjoyed our visit very much as the restaurant was clean and orderly. The restaurant was probably only 15% full on a signature Taco Tuesday Night. The 6" tacos were delicious and very well made. Just stuffed with goodness. See my pictures for the menu and prices, but the Tacos were a steal at 3 for $10 on Tuesday's (Normally it would be $15). The food was made to order and the ingredients used were FRESH. You can taste the difference! The overall atmosphere of restaurant was spacious and festive. The service was excellent and extremely attentive. Our server, Mckenzie, was very friendly and professional.offering advice and suggestions for meals to choose. She guided us through the menu as this was our very 1st visit. Her recommendations were spot on. My only minor critique of the place is.getting into the parking lot and into the commercial area where this restaurant was located down in the 130th shopping complex (right side) down South off Deerfoot. This really has nothing to do with the restaurant so it is partially unfair for me to share this here, however if you are meeting people for eats, I would buffer at least 15 mins to weave your way through the single lane entrance and traffic into this shopping area. It is quite congested there.so be patient.
All items ordered were excellent, the fish tacos were as good as at Karen's restaurant in Bucarias, Mexico. The female waiter was excellent, charming and added much to our enjoyment.
The worst Mexican restaurant! After a long time they brought me burnt quesadillas and they said it’s not burnt and that’s the way they make quesadillas. I found them very rude.
I just went to this restaurant. We ordered one margarita flight, a beer, the corn dip, wings, three tacos and the honey hot chicken Sandwich. Our server was great but the chips were stale for the dip, wings were completely raw in the middle and then the chicken in sandwich was completely raw in the middle. The server was so nice about it but the manager seemed so annoyed with us. I saw her rolling her eyes about it talking to another server and when I asked to speak to her to ensure she knew our server was great and that this is a health hazard she didn’t even apologize she just seemed overly annoyed. We decided to leave. They covered the food because we didn’t eat a thing but still paid for our drinks. I do not think this was treated properly at all. The manager should have been kind and apologetic and the drinks should have been covered. I will never go there again.
Will visit again soon! It was the perfect place for lunch with the girls. The lovely Sabrina was a delightful host and made us feel so welcome. And the food…. So good!
First time visiting but won’t be back. Server was a nice guy but we only ever got one app out of everything we ordered. Kept saying things were coming and eventually we just cancelled, paid for the drinks and one app and went somewhere else to have dinner. The one app we did get was calamari and it was soggy… drinks were good
To start the night, I had placed an RSVP for my girlfriend and I, the hostess had messed up and thought I said 6 people. She then directed us to the most uncomfortable chairs on planet earth. Felt like sitting on a cinder block. Eventually we managed to convince our server to put us in a booth after half an hour. Food was mid at best. Servers ignored us and were slow at best. Had to go up to the bar to get limes because we were ignored. How many blondes does it take to get a reso right? More than five I guess. Won’t be coming back. Got to Anejo don’t waste your time.
The atmosphere is beautiful! The service was okay! Very disappointed with the meal size! 22 dollars for a Caesar salad with chicken and avocado, put in the smallest dish they could find! Chips and avocado dip in the same small bowl! About 12 chips for 13.00! Calamari was okay! For $75 dollars I left and went a got a burger! Very cheap with their portions! This is absolutely no authentic Mexican restaurant!
Sabrina served us today she was absolutely incredible to meet. So friendly and warm to speak with. Loved the food as well! The street corn was incredible! Will be coming back soon!
