Great place for family and kids. A beautiful summer day get-away from Calgary. Going on a public holiday or long weekend wouldn’t be recommended at all as it’s tightly packed and takes a good while just waiting in queue’s itself.

There is a handful and more of games and activities there. A lot of them need extra pay than the entry fee to the park. There are also height restrictions on some rides for smaller kids. Bumper cars are available for both small kids and adults separately. Kids under 10 have a great deal to enjoy, although I should mention that the number of adult rides and actual adventure rides were very few. What surprised me most was that it was although a water theme park, there was no swimming pool. There was a mini spray park for kids but that was about it.
Parking is available and safety measures seemed to be on point from what I saw. Was a happy and fun day experience and would visit and recommend again! Worth visiting for families with small kids.

We buy the annual pass on presale and enjoy the whole season with the boys.
Every year they get to ride new rides and enjoy the old once every time.
This park is the right size for a full day of activities and fun.
Just remember to buy tickets before you arrive to save time!

Had an amazing time. Much more fun than i remembered it when i was there last. Pricing was reasonable for park entry and rides. Was not unexpected wirh the price of food. I do suggest to go early when they first open to get on the good rides a fewtimes before the line ups become long. It was a busy long weekend and tho waits in the afternoon were long it wasnt unexpected. I do suggest the park finds a better watly than the rope drope for entry. A little girl got her leg wrapped in the rope and injured. There has to be a better way. But overall a great performance, a great experience, we will be back.

As always good old Calaway park.a day of fun for a whole family.
One day technical difficulties and heavy rain cut our day short.we were given tickets for another day.
29 September 2023 5:54
It's a fun place to be for kids. For Halloween they have the park decorated with a Halloween theme and kids can wear costumes.
It can get really busy and the line up is long.
13 September 2023 21:30
When you have a membership it makes very easy to enter no waiting lines. Definitely for the rides you have to be patient. Young crew are very polite & helpful. They deserve to be paid more than minimum wage.
26 August 2023 1:39
Excellent value for membership to take the kids here. If you come here twice, you already get your money's worth. If no membership, go after 2pm and it's $33+ GST per person.

My preschooler really loved it. Very short line up for entry after 2pm. The line up for rides wasn't that long. I only wished they had bumper cars where parents can sit with their smaller children who aren't comfortable riding themselves. Concession food is well priced. Parking is free.

Would recommend to go burn your kids' energy and/or spend time outdoors.
23 August 2023 12:04
Really enjoyed Calaway Park. The rides were fun. The shows were pretty good. Did notice one or two things that they might consider changing.such as a Singles line for the Vortex - the number of empty seats on the first run is maddening. Clearer markings for those using the extra support needs wrist band so they aren't cutting through lines (some explanation for those not aware of the program would be helpful as well). Overall it was a good experience but when you tell your littles they are on the next ride and then four people show up and jump on the ride right away - it can be hard to explain and calm them down bwfore they get frustrated.
22 August 2023 7:56
Went to the Calaway Cafe. Took the staff ten minutes to stop screwing around behind the counter and take our order. The fountain drink machines were down but thats okay because the park was happy to charge us a premium for their bottled goods rather than offering a discount for the inconvenience. Wicked. Skipped the drinks. Went to sit in the dining area despite finding no clean tables in there. While sitting in the dining area, two of the staff came out to clear tables - thank God, right? Wrong. We watched one of them go around picking up water bottles and RETURNING THEM to the cooler for someone else to go through again. Pretty sure that's some kind of health code violation. Next time we'll be bringing our own food and drinks. Avoid eating from the park if you can since they think it's fine to recycle drinks. Who knows, maybe they recycle food too.
22 August 2023 2:41
Fun for the whole family! Lines aren’t crazy long, I’d say average 15-20 mins per ride, rollercoaster wait line was an hour but worth it. Good for the price, lots of food options.
22 May 2023 14:45
Calaway Park is an outstanding family-friendly amusement park from thrilling roller coasters to exciting rides and games, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The park is well maintained and clean, with friendly and helpful staff throughout. The rides are well designed and safe.
Overall, Calaway Park is an excellent destination for anyone looking for a day of fun, laughter, and excitement.
12 May 2023 7:22
Although this amusement park may be smaller than some of the others in the area, my family and I had an incredibly fun experience during our visit. It's the perfect size for younger children, and we were thrilled to see so many rides and attractions that catered to their age group. The park may not have the flashy, high-tech rides that some larger amusement parks offer, but it more than makes up for it with its charm and intimacy. We were able to spend a few hours here with our kids, enjoying all of the fun rides and attractions, without feeling overwhelmed or rushed. Overall, this amusement park is a great way to spend a fun-filled afternoon with your family, and we highly recommend it to anyone with younger children looking for a memorable and enjoyable experience.
21 April 2023 8:03
This was my favourite place to go as a kid but it’s also adult friendly too! I love the variations of rides and there’s always great food. Super fun place to go for an afternoon!
05 April 2023 3:38
Really fun place to kids. I think the washrooms are in need of an update. Too small and not overly stroller friendly.
01 April 2023 1:22
Good for kids who don’t know any better. Only giving it 3 stars cause my kids like it. Vastly overpriced and they keep increasing the price of their annual pass. They make it seem like the annual pass is a good deal considering a day pass is $50. The day pass is worth $20 at best considering the park hasn’t changed since I was a kid. Probably won’t bother this year
03 March 2023 10:36
Such a nice and fun place for families and kids. We had lots of fun there this past summer.
01 December 2022 6:23
Fun but overpriced.
Support Local right?
Needs new theming
Needs new paint
Needs more than 1 rollercoaster for 1.6 million people
28 November 2022 3:27
I hope you enjoy standing in line. Over an hour for the rollercoaster. Another hour for the log ride. 40 minutes in line to get cotton candy. Another 40 to get lunch. If you stay until close you'll get to enjoy one final line trying to leave the parking lot as most people try to exit in an orderly fashion while others proudly display their entitlement. In the end our family of four spent about $400, rode less than a dozen rides and spent hours queued.
22 November 2022 23:48
It's fun but they need more non little kid ride (3-7) the entire thing was just kiddie rides pretty much other wise it was a single rollercoaster with a flip or go at a 180° angle
19 November 2022 6:22
Pretty cool place to have within a couple hour drive of home here in central Alberta.
Being outside is a nice benefit in the summer if you like being outside:)
Like any theme park, everything’s overpriced…but then again, so is everything else in life…and crazy enough life has almost caught up to movie theatres and theme parks now.
Take your kids, take a pocket full of money (or credit/debit works too) and make some memories!
16 November 2022 7:54
Very expensive to get in plus they never change there product like a new amusement machinery always the same style and story it like going to Calgary stamped same old same old
26 October 2022 17:04
We took our family on Saturday and had a blast!
I have to give a shoutout to the staff at the Dockside Diner. My son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and eggs which makes it extremely hard to find food that is safe for him to eat. The guy (I wish I got his name) that helped us was amazing he brought out the ingredients for a bunch of products and went above and beyond to make sure my son could safely have something eat! Thank you Dockside Diner staff I couldn't be more grateful!
18 October 2022 5:53
It’s a really fun place to hang out with the family. The kids love it. If you get the season’s pass it’s a great deal. I find the park operations frustrating because there are so many basics that they don’t pay attention to which would greatly improve the experience. For example traffic leaving at 5pm! Why not have people directing the flow of traffic. Secondly, why does it close to early? The park was packed, no one wanted to leave, they should have better hours. The rides have long line ups and with some very simple and cost effective changes they could increase ride capacity a great deal. They have underinvested in rides and shows for years and years. That said, seasonal decorations like the Halloween exhibits are great touches that the kids really love. All in all it’s a great park but it feels like they haven’t tried to keep up or improve it for a number of years.
17 October 2022 19:27
This place use to be fun but it is small and the rides are geared towards younger kids. It definately needs a revamp and could be a lot better
11 October 2022 15:31
Great place to go with family or friends but would love to have more big roller coasters. There’s a lot of smaller rides which are very fun. There are a lot of ride options for all ages and most lines are not super long (Long lines are mostly log ride and vortex)
30 September 2022 0:43
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! I used to come here as a kid and I now bring my kid. There are lots of rides for every age. I brought my 3 year old who is of average height and we got to go on majority of the age appropriate rides. The lines were pretty insane but they move fast. The line for the log ride was crazy long it took about half an hour I would say. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit of a mess though as it's not controlled and there are numerous lanes, so everyone just drives to the end and cuts in; so I would recommend to park near the back or the middle if you plan on leaving right at close. It took about 45 minutes to leave the parking lot as we parked right by the door.
16 September 2022 20:48
I haven't visited Calaway Park for the past couple years due to Covid-19. I bought two seasons passes for 2022 and had nothing but terrible experiences.

The park is overcrowded. Forget about buying food! My daughter was starving and she wanted a hamburger with fries, I waited in line for 35 minutes before, I was able to be served, let alone the wait time for the food to be cooked. It took "50 minutes" to be served a burger, fries and a soda. I paid $16.50 for a cold burger with a stale bun and the fries tasted like they sat under a heat lamp for over an hour and the soda had too much ice. My 10yr old daughter got 3 sips out of her drink and it was empty.

I wanted to return the food and ask for a fresh order but the line-up was even worse from when, I lined up the first time and decided to forget it.

It takes about 40 minutes to drive out to the park. I could not believe how many people were there? Does the park not have a capacity limit? My daughter and I, stood in line for "one hour and half" for a ride that didn't last longer than 2 minutes.

We we're so fed up that we decided to leave. Took "Two hours and 20 minutes to buy a burger, fries, soda and go on one ride? Let alone, don't forget about the price of fuel. "One hour and 20 minutes" of drive time for an experience like this? Forget it!

Calaway Park has lost yourselves a long-term season pass holder. I absolutely refuse to come back and visit until, there is proper organization. This experience of 2022 felt like a circus.
11 September 2022 13:58
A perfect experience, a wonderful thing, even the people there were so wonderful. You want to get rid of the worries of the world. Go there. All thanks to the staff. They were so nice. Thanks for this organization from the people.
05 September 2022 12:30
Great place to take the kids. The rides are fun but short, the food is ok but expensive, and the 3D movie is surprisingly fun. A few events require additional cost with debatable returns (looking at you maze near the splash park). The kids have a blast and occasionally I feel like one. Give it a try and get a season pass and go week after week.
02 September 2022 5:33
Came for a work event. Nothing new since I was here years ago. Would avoid going here again in the future.
01 September 2022 23:54
Fun way to spend the day with the kids. Lots of rides for littles. Has fast food on site and you pay what you would expect at at amusement park. Parking was amble and free. Cost the get in is a lot for adults with littles who won't go on very many rides. Fun activity to do once a year.
27 August 2022 8:49
The kids had a great time. They were. About to short for some of the rides, but there will be more for them to do next year. Lots of fun!
18 April 2022 3:21
I wonder if they will sue me over a 1 star review, they threatened legal action against someone for criticizing there prices (which is true) anyway this place is not good like 2 below average rides. If your super bored in Calgary and can't get to Banff you can kill maybe 3 hours.
11 April 2022 5:23
This place is amazing lines are long but still the vortex log ride and chaos are the best food is over priced but it’s still good and tastes good to
09 April 2022 5:00
The park is Amazing! But in my humble opinion they should invest more in new rides. They should make it not just for kids, they should try to make bigger rides for young people. Calgary needs to keep young people in the city cause that is going to make the city grow in all the aspects. Young people are leaving cause they want to have fun. The mountains are great but a city with attractions is more attractive. Good example of this is Spokane Washington is smaller than Calgary and they have a bigger Amusement park and also a water park. Imagine those parks in Calgary? Wooo the perfect city! Btw I love Calaway.
05 April 2022 20:32
Its fun, good day trip but quite pricey. I wouldn't bring your older kids since the rides tend to be targeted towards younger kids/toddlers.

Foods okay (expensive), lines are long but overall a good day trip to bring your kids if you’re willing to spend the money.
04 March 2022 5:02
Was definitely better before.still good but a bit boring now.they should consider building more exciting rides like the roller coaster.
27 December 2021 15:00
Well managed and clean. Some of it is dated and the games cost a lot.
Delicious ice cream at a reasonable price.
We enjoy the stage shows. Could use more shade though.
23 December 2021 8:10
Went here with my family for the first time since I was a kid (14+ years ago) and it is literally exactly how I remember it. Nothing has changed, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Everything has been maintained extremely well! I will say it's more expensive than I remember it being, but I also wasn't an adult, and the line ups for the rides were extremely long. It could have been because it was a weekend, but we were there for around 5 hours, and I think the kids maybe got on 6 rides. I think it's an amazing place to take kids if they're into rides, and it truly was nostalgic for me.
07 November 2021 20:47
Fun and entertainment for the whole family. Visited for the first time and we had a blast. Online ticket price worth it. So many rides for kids and adults. My 2yr old had an amazing time. Perfect family activity.
21 October 2021 16:42
Long line for the rollercoaster but had alot of fun! Nice atmosphere, of course, since fun is everywhere!
29 June 2019 5:59
Great experiences here from my childhood, it's the perfect place for families to go during the summer. Fun rides, various food options and many snack bars. Live entertainment and theatre. It is worth the time and will create many good lasting memories.
13 June 2019 0:24
I love taking my grandkids to Calaway Park! They love all the rides and games, the season's pass at Co-op is a great price! We love the log ride, the bumper boats, and bumper cars. My grandkids also enjoy the treats! I wish they had the picnic area with the trees opened up, for families to use to give the kids a chance to rest in the shade for a bit. If you can try to go on a weekday in the summer its a great way to beat the lines. Lots of family fun!
26 May 2019 4:44
My daughters love it and I do too.
Always fun. Every year they have something new, I totally recommend for a family and friends, this is a great place amazing people they work in there. The meals are so good and I can't wait to go and spend time with my family again
20 May 2019 23:35
I loved Calaway park as a child, I have so many memories from there. I've brought my nieces and nephew a few times and they absolutely love it too. Clean park, safe rides, great shows and friendly staff. The one thing I would say is that you need to expand. You have such a huge plot of land around and have so much room for expansion. I went to Canada's Wonderland last year for the first time and I felt like a kid again. I went on every ride and had the time of my life. I just wish we had something closer to home to experience that again. Kost of the rides at Calaway are for young kids.but what about the Adults who are kids at heart.
13 May 2019 20:32
Calaway Park is such an amazing family experience! The mini golf attraction is fun, out in the sun, with a delicious waffle cone dessert kiosk at the end of the course. #CalawayLive puts on an amazing show! Choreographed Show Tunes, and other Musical Theatre! These shows are performed at scheduled times periodically throughout the day. There is ample on-site parking, great options for food and beverage, and an extremely friendly staff! Calaway Park, Season Pass information is on the Calaway Park website. You won't believe the deals if you purchase a Season's Pass!

25 April 2019 13:52
Our family had an amazing time here, if anyone is visiting the Calgary area I highly recommend you bring your kids for a day.
19 April 2019 10:31
Reasonably priced amusement park (especially when you get their coupons or online deals). Fun place to take young children!
14 April 2019 23:01
Always a good time taking the kids here. Yeah, maybe a bit outdated, and sometimes cheesy, but what are the other options for out door amusement parks?

Pack a lunch or snacks. I don't mind spending a bit on in park food, but the quality of food for the price here is questionable. Pack a lunch!
05 April 2019 3:24
Getting a season pass around Christmas is a must and basically pays for itself with 2 visits. It's not Disneyland but we always have a good time with our kids.
13 March 2019 1:57
Season pass holder for multiple years! Larger than it might appear. Attractions mostly limited to predictable carnival rides but with fun theming and cheerful staff. I feel very safe on all their rides and visit multiple times each season.
08 March 2019 23:46
Love this park! So much fun and entertainment. Needs more water rides. Has excellent games for kids to play. Food is good a little pricey, a picnic area would be great for those who bring there own lunches. Definitely worth spending the day with family and friends
28 February 2019 19:07
Good value local amusement park, especially if you purchase the passes when at their highest discount before Christmas each year. Would love to see a couple more "big ticket" rides come along, but what's here is loads of fun for kids.
03 February 2019 8:49
We love Calaway Park in the summer! Lots of rides to suit all ages, and a great variety within each age/height range. The food isn't the greatest in our experience, so we always make sure to bring our own lunch.
19 January 2019 22:03
We had such a great time! Clean friendly park. Fun rides that weren't as costly as I expected. I like the little sprinklers they have along some areas so you can cool off lol. Overall I'd definately come back. Maybe even without the kids so I can play more haha.
07 January 2019 9:31
Lots of rides, great experience. The restaurants have long line-ups, and could have more variety, but all in all, Calaway park is a fun place
05 January 2019 2:42
I bought a Season Family Pass. I'm a Single person, & thought I could use this to take Visitors there. C. P.would only allow my immediate family, who were Not interested. So, this is waste of money $ for me!
24 December 2018 18:46
Took my kids over the summer and they had a great time. Only recommedation is for better and more signs at each ride for height requirments, and or another employee checking guests height while in line so you dont wait in line and not be tall enough. This happened to us once. Get the passes at Co-op for a discount or buy season passes if you plan on going more than 3 times. Seen lots of people bring their own food and drinks as this is allowed at this park. There are lots of picnic tables to sit at. Parking lot can get very busy. Overall good experience and would recommend for a family.
29 November 2018 23:33
Won passes to Calaway Park Via a draw, four to be exact. We miss placed them and called, told them the circumstances as we were in the middle of moving.

Zero sympathy, didn’t want to replace because the tickets had a value and might get sold if lost. We said ok, chalked it up as an o-well. We found them in September, however were not able to go, so we posted them on Kijiji and we got a message from a staffer at Calaway telling us to take them down as it is not allowed.when explained the circumstances they literally said we don’t care and we will cancel the passes.

Does anyone see the contradiction from Calaway?

I used to take my kids every year, however will never ever again! Support places like the corn maze, Cobbs adventure, Spark and Zoo before these crooks!

Picture of the tickets are below, heads up if you ever win stuff like this, they control them 100%. Even though I paid $100 to win them and support, they control them even after they gift them away!
29 October 2018 11:25
Great amusement park! My kids 11 and 9 had a blast here. Lots of different rides to try. Clean park with friendly staff.
27 October 2018 17:25
Calaway Park has been a staple of entertaining kids for decades.

We have found that after being here a few times, it can be a strangely low-stress experience, with the possible exception of the parking. The lineups are reasonable, most rides are included in the price (save for the maze), and even though the train of cars exiting the property can be very long if you stay until the end, the drivers are really well behaved as a rule.

The rides are fairly standard fare: Ferris wheels, spinning rides, log rides, carousels, bumper cars, roller coasters. The height requirements are clearly marked for everything as well (save your kids the disappointment and make sure you know what height "colour" your kids belong to before getting to the front of the line!)

The food is decent but on the pricy side, and the indoor restaurant seems to be currently suffering a lack of variety, but the pizza place is pretty good.

Starting the week after Labour Day, they do Halloweekends, in part because they close halfway through October and decided nevertheless to get in on the Halloween fun. People do actually dress up for those, and it's pretty cool to behold, but remember that there are still (reasonable) clothing requirements to get on the rides, so check in advance.

We find it more relaxing here than some other attractions like Telus Spark or even the zoo (definitely less so than the Stampede!), although there season is understandably limited, and we will be renewing our passes (which do pay for themselves very quickly) when the sales start in winter.

See you there!
19 October 2018 19:19
Went with a group that included grandparents, parents, and kids (ages 5 to 14) and everyone had a great time. Rides for everyone.
13 October 2018 21:58
Calaway Park is the one stop destination if you want to grab some fair food, play some games, and enjoy the fun atmosphere. Although, the admission is quite steep, it is worth it for the unlimited rides and shows.
12 October 2018 17:53
We attended as a family and spent two nights in the Callaway RV park with one day of tickets to the park itself. The campsites didn't have much for privacy but we're fully serviced. The park staff was friendly and courteous and genuinely seemed to want you to enjoy the park.
11 October 2018 9:12
So our kids just turned 9 & 7 and we had never gone to Calaway park. We figured it would be better to take them this year instead of Kdays. I would suggest showing up at opening (so we had to leave home before 7am).

There is ample parking. They also have tent or rv camping sites for a reasonable rate $41/night. We had a coupon for 40% off. I was under the assumption it would be 40% off the family admission but it was off indiviual prices so it cost $100. ×× for admission. Admission does cover most of the rides so it was a decent price.

There are a decent amount of rides for young children (0-5 w/ a parent) my daughters are of average height and were able to go on many "big kid" rides alone. My 7 year old wasn't able to get on the bumper car ride.

As an adult my husband I only went on 2 rides. The roller coaster and the Timber Falls log ride. Pictures are taken on both of these rides (min $10 each). We enjoyed them both. The wait for both rides was under 30 minutes. My husband is a bigger built guy and fit fine on both rides.

If you plan on playing games don't expect to win big prizes. Buy a booklet of token coupons and save a couple bucks, each booklet comes with 1 free round of mini-putt.

The mini-putt is a little worse for wear, as is the rest of the park's landscaping. Could be the dry hot weather but it looks like most of the destruction is caused by guests & their children. Which is too bad b/c they have lots of greenspaces with native species growing & their huge planters could have looked amazing if their flowers weren't all picked at and broken.

We bought mini doughnuts, cotton candy and snowcones while there, they were good. You are also permitted to bring in food which is great if you want to pack a healthy or cheap lunch. Most the restaurant carry sugary or fried foods. Along with summer go tos like burgers & hotdogs.

Washrooms were easy to find. A few different locations are available and decently clean.

There is a trout pond. $4 will give you the chance to catch a fish. The lady at this attraction will gut & clean it for you to take home or pass it along to someone else who is fishing & taking their fish home. We didn't fish but took a walk along the docks and saw a decent amount of trout.

The gift shop had suprisingly decent prices. You can find medium sized teddy bears for under $15 and small items under $3.

All in all it was a fun day. We have checked it off of our daytrip bucketlist.
08 October 2018 16:37
Bought season pass on promo around May 2018. Its a good deal to take advantage on discounts like 40%. We just move to Calgary and we have only came once for maybe 6 hours and we aren’t able to go around the whole area. I think we’ve only been to the half part where the roller coaster are and the swing which my kids rode for maybe 5 times. They are happy! We’ll be back soon
08 October 2018 12:04
While it isn't Disneyland, it was better than j had expected it to be. It is a great place to take a family of any age. There's small rides, carnival games, a wide variety of food options for reasonable prices and even has rides for the big kids. If you don't want to pay for food or drinks, they allow outside food in so you can still enjoy the park. I'll be taking my kids there at least once a year for the forseeable future.
08 October 2018 2:30
Fun if you go during the week and have smaller lines for all the rides. I really wish they would build more rides for adults and more rollercoasters. I understand its exspensive but sometimes you gotta spend money to make money ;)
04 October 2018 14:01
I remember going to Calaway Park since I was little and having a blast! Now I get to bring my kids here and watch them have as much fun as I did! They've gotten a couple of new rides over the last few years which helps keep it exciting. We will continue bringing our kids here.
03 October 2018 10:57
This was my first trip to Calaway Park and it was a blast. Even though it was the long weekend the lines weren’t super long. We brought my 2 year old and she was able to get on to 11 rides. For the price (you can always find a coupon) I thought I was very well worth it. I appreciate that the parking is free and I think it’s great that it is student run. All the staff were really friendly and had safety as a priority!

The bathrooms were very clean and they were spread out perfectly around the park. I didn’t try any of the food but there seemed to be a lot of options!
28 September 2018 9:23
Starting to update some of the old rides, though a lot of the classics remain. You can spend a whole day there and not even notice the time fly by! Good selection of rides for all ages
08 September 2018 6:54
I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to Calaway Park. The amusement park was much nicer than what I was expecting and I would gladly return if I was ever back in the Calgary area.
02 September 2018 0:48
Wonderful amusement park for kids of all ages. Lots of rides for the little ones, fun games, and lots of food vendors. I highly recommend this as a terrific family outing. It does seem strange to charge all the adults (and it is fairly pricey) when the adults are really only there as caregivers/supervisors, not enjoying the rides themselves. Other than that, no complaint and high praise!
