They were able to get me in to take care of my snake very quickly and the vet was kind and knowledgeable. Definitely planning to go here for my reptile needs!

Come here if you want to deal with a very condescending receptionist. She was dismissive and we were made to feel like we should know all their internal schedules even though we were calling for the first time simply to book an appointment. Very disappointed as this clinic came highly recommended but after talking to reception, we went elsewhere.

These guys are absolutely the best! They are very professional, thorough and very caring, I would highly recommend them!

They're always able to get me in and do a great job taking care of my pets. They explain everything going on and give great advice on how to care for them.

The vets here really care. They took time to do a follow up call multiple times to make sure my bunny was doing ok post-surergy. They were very supportive throughout the entire process.

Knowledgeable staff, and friendly. Did wait a while but they seemed like a busy clinic. Will be my go to for my Bunny needs.

I’ve brought my hamster Alexandra Hamilfluff in a few times now, at points when I was very worried about her health. Everyone here was so kind and helpful, and now my hamster is living out her older age comfortably and is even more energetic than before I took her in! It’s a bonus that I don’t feel judged for bringing in a hamster! She means a lot to me and I’m glad there is an exotic pet vet around that can help me make her life the best it can be!

Amazing service. We have been taking pur little Lovebird Petal to this place for 2 years now and we can’t say enough good things about this place. I love this clinic and all it's staff. They are always friendly, welcoming, and ready to make my visit a positive one. The vets are knowledgeable and treat my animals with respect and care. They also are really good at helping educate me to improve my care at home. I know some people don't like being told what to do with their own pets but personally I appreciate it when someone tells me how I can improve the lives of my pets.

Amazing experience. My axolotl had an issue with an infected leg and his care has been fantastic. The reception staff have been super kind and accomodating, and were able to find me an appointment for the same day I called. Dr. Chapman followed up with lots of excellent information to help me with after care and the vet techs that I have seen have also given me lots of helpful advice and information. My boy is now thriving. They also offered for me to phone or send pictures if I ever have questions again. Excellent service and I highly recommend for people with aquatic reptiles.

The team at Avian and Exotic is amazing! They take such good care of our little geriatric Guinea pigs. And when one of them passed, they helped us arrange for all the aftercare so we didn’t have to think about it. We are beyond grateful to have them help us through our little girls golden years!

Amazing place, very accommodating and friendly staff, they got our rabbit in very quick and got him 100% in no time without any unexpected costs. Any appointments after have been a joy, and for the first time in a while, we're not nervous to go to the vet.

Had a great visit for my pet pigeon, the staff is very knowledgeable and I am so glad I brought my bird in! I'm glad we have such a great avian clinic here in Calgary:)

This is an excellent team of vets, vet techs, and staff. They're incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, they take amazing care of the animals they see, always going above and beyond. If you have a bunny, this is where you want to go for your vet needs. And I'm sure they're also great with other exotic animals too

I had to put down my sweet hedgehog yesterday and was having a very hard time. Both the staff and the Vet who worked with us were kind and professional, they talked me through everything they would be doing and were accommodating to me and my little guy. The vet spoke in such a kind voice to me and my little guy, and she was very gentle and loving towards him the whole time. Even when leaving, the staff was very kind. Thank you all so much.

I bring my bunny here, including for standard checkups, a neuter surgery, and a post-injury x-ray and followup appointments. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and super supportive. Pricing is really good, I never feel like I'm paying too much for their services. I'm extremely satisfied with them.

The entire staff at this clinic has been amazing. Every time I call or visited, I’ve dealt with extremely helpful and knowledgeable vet techs and receptionists. I’ve dealt with Dr. Chapman and Dr. DeCubellis for my rabbit and have had wonderful experiences with both. They are extremely thoughtful, caring and logical about their treatments. They are very understanding and really take the time to explain their recommendations ensuring that they personalize the care plan for my rabbit based on her history and current symptoms. I cannot recommend this clinic enough and I’m very grateful they are here in Calgary.

I called the clinic in hysterics because my bunny is sick! The staff were so kind and understanding to me. She gave me great advice over the phone. When I brought my bunny Oatmeal he received the best care. This place is the best, the staff really care here!

Doctor Leticia has been seeing my ferrets for a couple of months, she is amazing with them, so patient and kind when handling my babies. Overall staff is super friendly and prices are super understandable. I feel 100% confident that my babies are in good hands with this clinic.

Dr Materi and her excellent team at Calgary Avian and Exotic Pet Clinic are some of the most intelligent, dedicated, caring, hard working and best people I know. They willingly helped my bird today even though they had a full schedule. They saved her life by doing amazing surgery and medicine for her and I am forever grateful. They gave up their lunch break to do this surgery. She is recovering beautifully thanks to them. Words cannot express how thankful I am. Thank you so much! Blessings always to you all!

Picked up.heard someone and then hung up. What is going on? Please dont do that just because you picked up and are about to close. People calling are calling with emergencies.

I have to take my guinea pig here every three weeks for a tooth trim and they are always fantastic and kind and caring. He is treated so well by staff that he is more than happy to go everytime. (I think the veggies he gets after help too)

It’s important to have a vet in the city who can take care of our little creatures. We’ve always had great service with amazing care for our pets. Unlike many vets, they don’t just force diagnostics, but they work out a plan that fits your situation and takes into consideration all of the factors involved. Dr. DeCubellis has been great with my conure, Mango. She takes the time to hear me out and understand the history while making her own observations. We need a cloning machine to make more Julies so that everyone can get appointments when they’re needed ️

I have had a lot of people recommend this clinic to me. Im sure the vets are incredible but, based on the phone conversation I’ve had I will never come here. Reception is extremely rude. It’s over a month wait and when I asked if there is another vet they could recommend I was told “we don’t work with other vets, you’ll just have to look online”. I then asked if there was any suggestions to help with the pain for my animal, she in a very ignorant condescending tone said “no, you have to take him to see a vet, there’s nothing you can do at home” I said “well so far it’s a month wait so what am I supposed to do? ” She told me to “look around”.
Like I said, I'm sure the vets are incredible but maybe they should reevaluate who the have dealing with the public on their behalf.

Thank you for replying. I can understand why you wouldn’t recommend another vet. However the people answering the phone shouldn’t be so condescending and ignorant. Kindness goes a long way.

Truly the best vet clinic out there, I would rate them even higher than 5 stars if I was able to. Dr. Materi Is the best vet I have come across as well as every other person working in this office. Not only do they care deeply about the animals they also care about you as an owner. You are never left wondering what your options are as they explain everything to you, give you all your options and then support you no matter the decision you make. Highly recommend this clinic and thank them for everything they’ve done! Your animals will not be in better hands than Avian Clinic.

Avian and exotic pet clinic is my go to animal Hospital for my lizards. My recent visit was sad I had to put down my leopard gecko but the doctor and the staff were extremely professional helpful and knowledgable of my situation. The prices at the vet are also very reasonable and they tell you all the charges upfront so you’re not stuck with this thousand dollar bill for the visit that you had no idea about. If you want an exotic pet this includes bunnies, Birds and reptiles I recommend taking them down to Calgary avian and exotic pet clinic for their yearly check ups and any time your scaly or furry or feather friends get sick.

This clinic holds a special place in my heart. They are the most caring and helpful staff. Whether your baby has been to their clinic multiple times or this is the first visit, they treat you and your baby with respect and kindness. The health and happiness of your baby is all that matters. I am forever grateful to them.

Always friendly. Take amazing care of our dwarf rabbit. So glad to have them in the neighborhood. Wish you could expand to handle more capacity!

I have a cute little mouse. His name is Bernard and he’s adorable (The vet even said so!). They are extremely friendly and the prices are reasonable. The advice you will get is trustworthy and not money gouging in the slightest. I highly recommend these guys if you have any exotic pets as they are extremely knowledgeable.

From their knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate veterinarians, to their helpful staff, and friendly receptionist, I am always pleased with the services this clinic provides. I have been taking my Umbrella Cockatoo, Maverick, to Calgary Avian and Exotic for the past 5 years for his annual check-ups. Apart from my experience with the lovely Dr. Chapman, I've also been blown away by Dr. Materi's heart of gold. I unfortunately had to put my bearded dragon, Diego, to rest a couple of years back, as well as our beloved Dove, Luna, and Dr. Materi was comforting and empathetic during the tragic circumstances. I'll continue to recommend this outstanding vet clinic to everyone and anyone who are seeking top of the line care for their exotic family members.

Thank you so much, Sydney (and also another lady who I don't know the name of), for giving me such in-depth information about budgie care! They were both so sweet and knowledgeable, both went out of their way to ask their colleague about things that they didn't necessarily know about so that they could give me the right information. I didn't know how to give my budgie medication without actually grabbing her with my hands, but these 2 lovely ladies helped me out so much. This is in my opinion the best exotic vet clinic in and around Calgary by far. Every doctor is fantastic so it doesn't matter which one you get. Highly recommend.

Our bearded dragon was well taken care of by Dr Chapman. She gave us a lot of information about that kind of reptiles and how to make sure that the terrarium is set up proprerly. The staff is very friendly.

Took my hamster there because she was extremely lethargic and clearly very ill.staff and dr were nice, they sent me home with 10 day antibiotics but despite the medicine I noticed her condition kept worsening. I phoned multiple times to ask to speak with a vet. I missed their call once at work but kept phoning. Never heard back after that. She died in my arms last night gasping for air. It seemed painful and I wish I could have gotten a hold of someone for help. Couldn't afford the emergency vet which was my own fault, but I do wish I had heard back for advice I would've taken her in.

Brought my lizard here a few times, always got fantastic advice and detailed care instructions.later, it unfortunately had to be put down, and I was blown away to have a hand written card mailed to me.so thoughtful and very much appreciated.

This clinic is wonderfully staffed, from reception to the techs and the vet. They were so empathic and informative when I called about my sick hamster, and Dr. Materi explained everything in detail and was just fantastic to speak with. I trust them and would definitely recommend. Their prices to see a small animal are very fair also which helps out alot. Thank you again to this great facility!
