Visit the FREE museum in the basement of the Chinese Cultural Centre. It's amazing and should be better known.

A place to learn Chinese cultural and heritage history. Lots of information available for Chinese historical articles and books available for review and learn. Also at various times of the year exhibition, show and Chinese musical stories are open to the public.
Also available lions and dragon dancing are public for the public during Chinese activities and Chinese new year celebrations.

I love the museum, have a lot of valuable photos and I do of Calgary Chinatown.

Attended 2023 RBC Lunar New Year Celebration! It was a very fun event!

A landmark of Calgary Chinatown is the culture center. Design as Chinese element into it this building already last for several decades. Inside the building host many events, especially close to Chinese new year there are very busy. Parking is available street side and it’s free on weekend. If you happen to hanging around here it’s good to come to visit.

Worst New Year Event arrangement I have ever seen. Lion Dance was scheduled at 12: 00pm on 1/22 (First day of the Year of Rabbit) but didn’t start until 12: 50pm. All the audience standing in the street in such a cold weather and waiting for long speech and endless announcements from the organizers. More importantly the crowd couldn’t even hear what they were saying. End up I and my kids couldn’t stand the wind and left before the show started. Totally disappointed.
