I did not love my experience here. On the phone I was told my kids could climb unlimited time in the Climb Park but when I arrived it turned out to be for an hour. It cost $53 for an hour for both my kids (with shoe rental) but they were asked to take their gear off before their hour was up. Since they didn't start at the hour either in the end they climbed for about 40 minutes. It was not a flexible or friendly place. This did not feel like a good deal.
I was with my MIL & Niece; First time there. Felt alittle awkward at the initial counter not knowing what I was getting into, walked around giving myself my own tour of where things are, and what to do. When it came to the climbing the walls, seemed as though the staff were on a script when it came to the safety announcement- but all in all had a great time. Learned lots, just thought staff would be more attentive to people who never been nor climbed a wall before. Very cool place, as I got used to the atmosphere and my nerves got shook off! Will be back:) Thank you!
Great experience for young and old. The learn to climb programs for kids is a huge hit with my daughter. When she is done a session, she looks worn out but is beaming from ear to ear.
It was awesome.super simple check in process. Felt safe but was able to have fun on my first climb. Awesome. My kids birthday party is now the talk of the 4th grade!
My son is on a climbing team here and I can’t say enough about their dedication to keeping the place clean during covid. The holds are always being changed to set up varied challenge levels from “just want to play” in their kid park to bouldering and harness climbing. The team aspect is led by truly passionate coaches who have the skill and personality to relate to each youth. I’ve seen my 10 year old grow in strength and confidence that filters into his friendships and school life
My wife and I went to this gym while on honeymoon, as we were staying in Calgary for a few days before going to the mountains. The staff was incredibly nice. If I could give them 10 out of 5, I would
This place is amazing! Very beginner friendly and was great for me and my girlfriend since it was our first time. Shoutout to Luke for making it very enjoyable for us!
Love it here. This place gave me a real love for climbing. An awesome perk about this location when it’s nice outside they open the bay doors for some added fresh air and sunlight!
The perfect place to encourage a budding rock climber. The staff understand children and safety, the passion for climbing is evident, most of all, it's a good solid of people who champion the sport and the culture.
Primarily rope climbing, so the bouldering section is kinda small. They use the C rating instead of the more common V. They also use some uncommon holds, and the setting style is more traditional (not comp style).
Amazing if you do not have a harness or rock climbing shoes you can rent them there if you have kids above the age of four to six it's an amazing place to bring them there is a climbing fun gym kind of like inja nation and it is so fun you don't even need to rent a harness or shoes if you have regular shoes that are not dirty you can just climb on the bouldering section and you do not need a harness
Climb park is a great thing to do for some family fun. Cole was a super patient instructor and really made it fun for all of our different skill/comfort levels!
I'm no climber so I don't have a lot of comparison. However, my son took their beginners classes and had an absolute blast! I would love to book a birthday party there!
We had my son's birthday there today and it was an outstanding experience. Every member of the staff was extremely friendly and happy to help. From booking the party, to using the climbing space this was by far our best birthday party we've done so far. Thank you CCC!
Fun time for beginners! Staff was really nice and enthusiastic when we came. The walls and equipment looked great but I'm no expert. Parking is a little bit of a problem but once u get in you will have a blast!
This place is fantastic! My 8 year old daughter ask to go here almost every weekend. It is clean, staff are amazing and it is just such a good overall vibe. It can be a little busy sometimes however, doesn’t affect the atmosphere. Wish they offered a monthly climbpark pass though as we come so much, lol.
Gradually getting more and more expensive. If you're just visiting the area and if this is your back up plan from a rainy day in the mountains, it can easily cost over 40. Great facilities and staff though.
Great facility and staff. Love this place. My wife and I just started rock climbing over a month ago. The staff have been awesome with, literally, showing us the ropes lol. Now we're totally hooked on our new hobby.
Amazing place. All staff are so much kind and friendly. The place is so clean and various courses. Great place to spend good time with kids and family. The best
We love this climbing facility. Juan the head setter does an amazing job of proving new routes regularly. Such a great vibe overall with friendly staff and climbers.
I had a flight delayed for a day and was put up in a hotel by the airport. Imagine my surprise when I discover a climbing gym right next door!
The facility is clean, organized, well lit and spacious. The holds were certainly worn, but the routes were interesting and it seemed like a lot of route setting was taking place.
I was so glad I got to stop by for an unexpected climb and would be happy to go back again!
Not bad. Definitely a bit far out of the way, which means you can get very empty gym at times (bonus!) or lots of families and people going to the climb park
Took my niece and nephew to have some fun on their day off from school. They had a blast, and were asking to go back right away. If you have a large group, fill out the waiver ahead of time on the website, as that will speed things up.
Instructor went above and beyond for us when we were late for our lesson. I find the routes here very fun, on par with the rocky mountain location. Also gym is rarely crowded. Worth the drive out!
My daughter asked for a birthday party in Calgary Climbing Centre. All the guests had lots of fun, some of them were climbing first time in their lives, but they all did well with the help of the instructor! All the kids were 8 years old and older, for younger kids 1 hour climbing can be too long and tiring. Two event rooms are upstairs for having pizza and birthday cake, you also can storage your belongings and presents there, as you have it for the time of your party, the room is included in price.
A great climbing gym with regularly changing routes. Boulder, top rope and lead climbing here plus there is a kids area, gear store and coffee/snacks for sale. You can rent equipment if you need. Parking gets a bit crazy so you may have to park down a ways.
Wow this place is cool! I took my 7 year old daughter for an hour at their climb park side which features autobelays on about 20 different climbing features. Dont miss it there is actually a climb feature inside one of the pillars. The staff are super happy and make things easy even for novice or long lapsed climbers. I love this place!
Only did lead there so far, so can't speak to the bouldering section yet. The walls and routes are both modern and varied. You could be just a 5.9 climber and still venture on long overhanging lead routes, and you won't be bored either if you can climb much harder routes. The place is clean, with a very good vibe. Cool setup, all top rope routes can also be done in lead if you want.
Lot of options and innovative climbing experiences for kids. My daughter loved the slides, jumps and ninja style pillars! Probably the biggest climbing center in Calgary?
The Climbpark is really good fun! Enjoyed it tremendously with my girlfriend and the staff member with us was nothing but the best. We had a great one hour (of which we were absolutely knackered at the end) doing all the different challenges and fun games created with the walls there.
Will definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone.
The facility itself has a wide range of climbing options, however it could be cleaner. Another issue which I found is that there was no mention of having a photo ID, which adults are apparently required to have to participate. The staff was slightly rude about this rule and argumentive, stating this was sent out in the confirmation email. It wasn’t. Perhaps a little bit more organization needs to be implemented into this facility.
