If I could give this vet 0 stars I would. We brought our dog in because she hasn’t been eating and was throwing up. When he came into the room he said what’s wrong with your cat. We said it’s not a cat it’s our dog. He checked her over and then told us he would be back. He came back in the room with an IV bag and what looked like a 5 inch needle and said we would need to give her the IV 3 times a day. He said he would show us how to do it. He took our dog and put her on the table and grabbed her by her neck and said this is how you do it. Our dog jumped in pain and he then said ok wait I will go get a muzzle SHE IS 4 POUND TOY POODLE! We told him no she’s not going to bite you she is just scared. He then again took the needle, showing what to do and said “don’t hit her spine cause that’s dangerous” We said we were not comfortable with doing this at home. He then left the room again and came back with some wet dog food. He then proceeded to take the wet dog food and rub our dogs face in the food saying “it’s dirty but works”

I will never ever go back to this vet. Stay away. The vet didn’t even know if he had a dog or cat in the room. $300 dollars and all he sent us home with was wet dog food and our dog with food all over her face.

They are great here. I was very nervous to get my cat spayed, as my daughter lost her previous young cat to a car two years ago and she was devastated. So the risk of surgery was very nerve racking for us. I am thankful to say the operation went well and she is doing fine. The staff was all very sweet, warm and informative, as well as quick and to the point so I appreciated how easy the whole process was. Thank you again!

Brought my cat here for a teeth cleaning and extraction They did great! My cat recovered so quickly and they treated him so well. The front of house staff is also so great. They also sell the beat raw food I've ever bought! Thanks guys!

Each time I've dealt with Dr. Qi I found him to be very patient, he explained everything I needed to know and repeated whatever I needed him to, he was always very gentle, calm, and kind to my dog, and I think he's terrific, I have always been very satisfied with his help.

My dog had been limping for many weeks, my regular vet said nothing could be done other than putting her on glucosamine and seeing if that would help, that it was just arthritis due to her genetically twisted feet and ankle bones. But after only one acupuncture treatment with Dr. Qi she was almost limp free. She had three more treatments and never limped again, not once, right up until her death many years later.

I also took her to Dr. Qi for a checkup prior to a chiropractic treatment after she'd been injured in a car accident (my usual vet said she'd only twisted her back and there was nothing to be done except give it time to heal, but she seemed to be in so much pain I knew I had to try to do something else for her). Dr. Qi knew in an instant when he walked into the room that there was something else very wrong with her and said I should have the first clinic recheck her at once. At the recheck later that day she ended up being immediately admitted for lifesaving surgery for internal injuries that had been missed by the first vet even with xrays having been taken.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this clinic, and Dr. Qi.

This is simply the most amazing, compassionate vet clinic I have ever been to. I will not go anywhere else. Dr Qi was fantastic in supporting my little guy with acupuncture for his IVDD - and when it was time, he helped Wilson pass with love and grace. So grateful for all staff there, especially Chris and Jane. One in a million place.

Update: On Feb 25th I had to rush our Lab/Newf X because his breathing was really ragged. I won't go into details, suffice to say that my wife and I made the decision to end his suffering. The staff there was amazing. No one suggested that I make this decision, simply supported me when we did. I can't say enough about the staff and Dr. Qi. Our pup had bad arthritis and got so bad that he could barely walk, took him for acupuncture; he was going for walks again.

We take all our animals here, I will never go anywhere else.

Not super happy with the amount we were charged to spayed our dog.

The clerk told us $470 + tax for the procedure when we spoke on the phone. That is when we agreed to the procedure.
Then when we came in to pick up our dog this evening, the total bill today came to $800.39.

When I asked questions about the amount she didn’t seem to hesitate that we had concerns about the amount, and said this is what it is. Not happy with this at all.

Dr Qi and staff are amazing with all of my pets, I would not trust anyone else. The prices are very fair and I always receive great service.

They are an excellent veterinarian facility facility. They care for their patience and the owners and I have had nothing but an amazing experience here. Highly recommend this place.

Can not say enough bad things about this place. Run your bill so high while distracting you with pretending to care for your animal with corny voices, mean while being so far off what the issue is.

Disgusting people. Crooks in vets clothing. My dog was extremely hurt and in pain- Legit LIMPING. I go to them- he gets excited when he sees other dogs.not even three minutes into the “consultation” I get a call back saying it’s over and the dogs okay. I clarify he is excited because of the other dogs so to assess the situation thouroughly.when I get hone my guy is limping again, I BARELY touch his back leg and he no less than screams. Not even 24 hours goes by and my dog can’t walk and has a fever- I take him back to them, and they say they can’t X-ray him until four days later. Kept trying to tell me nothing was obvious the first time he was checked even though I (a 22 year old girl) could tell exactly where the issues were. I’m DISGUSTED.

They were great with my cat. Took him to get fixed. The staff was friendly, my cat was great. They even called two days later to check and see how my cat was doing. I absolutely love this vet clinic

I do not recommend this vet clinic they vet provided awful service and were extremely rude. My cat was showing concerning symptoms, last night the vet did a vague and short exam, and no tests were conducted. I have mentioned her past health history previously and he did not consider any of it. I called back today because of a protozoa that has likely come back that is causing this issue, because her immunity was lowered when she got spayed. Dr. Yahuni Qi was not knowledgeable and did not know what tritrichomonas was. I provided him with recommendations that were made from the breeder in regards to treatment as she has experience dealing with this at her cattery, he refused to listen to any and disregarded everything I said. He was laughing at me and thought it was funny. Very unprofessional service provided to someone who is concerned about the health of their pet.

If I could give no stars I would this place was awfull to my poor baby! I don't know who there but someone cut my poor kittens claws way to short most of them were all the way to the quick. No one asked me if I wanted my cats claws clipped so for them to go and do so without my permision and then butcher this poor guys claws should have a talking to. I would be very dissapointed if the person who did this to my cat did this to someone elses beloved fur baby. And whoever did this should NOT be allowed to cut claws.steer clear from this place if you don't want to have to re train your pet to be okay with getting its claws clipped again. Had a hard time getting pictures cause of how much he hates his paws being touched now. I hope this gets addressed and that person who did this gets in trouble with their boss cause this is unacceptable.
On a side note at least the front desk people are friendly.

I had booked an appointment for my 2 cats to get a check up. They’re 1 year old brothers. I am always anxious about how they’re doing and thought it’d be good to make sure. The person who came out to get them from my car was really kind and I felt comfortable despite the fact I couldn’t go in and be with them during the check up. The vet called while I was waiting in my car and I told him my cats are 100% indoor as I live in an apartment downtown. He recommended the rabies shot. I asked if the rabies shot was necessary as they don’t go outside and he said no. So he continued by saying he recommended a vaccine and wasn’t clear about which one it was, and I was confused about if he was still talking about the rabies one. After some confusion, he told me it was a combo shot. He told me to come back and get them their second round of shots in 3 weeks. The person who brought the cats back out was also really nice but didn’t seem to know what even happened. He just brought my cats out and gave me the paper that detailed which vaccine they got and handed me the card terminal. I asked him how the cats were, he said they were awesome. Then I asked if the checkup went okay and he said everything was fine. I then tried to confirm that I needed to come back in 3 weeks and he was like “oh? Okay well you can call back tomorrow” which seemed pretty apparent that he didn’t know that I was advised to come back. I don’t imagine he would’ve even told me anything if I hadn’t asked, and it’s nothing against him, but I feel that he should’ve been informed about the visit enough to tell me about it. I just wish that the vet who looked after my babies was the one who followed up with me because I wasn’t sure if anything was really communicated. I also don’t understand why you still can’t go into the clinic with your pets at this point. It’s unsettling. I understand that covid is still a thing but I’ve told multiple people about not being able to go into the clinic and they were surprised by that as other vets allow owners in.

I recently took my roommates dog in while they were out of town and was not impressed. This place only has one doctor working and he seems so over booked I’m not sure he even really looked at the dog. He was in and out of the clinic so fast I don’t see how anything could have been done. I showed up for my scheduled appointment and at first no one even answered the phone, when someone finally did they didn’t even seem to know who I was or why I was there. Once we finally did get the dog inside the dr did what must have been a 2 second “exam” and then called us and basically told us there is nothing he can do and that was the end of the conversation. No communication on what we should do next or anything. I definitely would not take my pets here! You will be charged for basically nothing. We ended up going to a different clinic that was much more helpful.

We’ve been entrusting the care of our pets (dogs and cats) to Dr. Qi and staff since 2007. They are a caring, compassionate and generous group of people, and we can’t thank them enough for all they have done for us.

Where to start.if you look at my previous posts on other businesses its clear I have an opinion. I have to say this is the best nicest vet clinic I've ever stepped foot at.every staff member was amazing.and not only did they handle my fur baby with care but they even went further and scaled his teeth for me when I just asked for a brush while he was under. And I looked up that cost so God bless you guys at this clinic
You can tell these people really care about the health and well being of animals.and not only did they do that but my cat peed himself while on the way to the clinic and they took my items out of the carrier I used as furry blankies for my baby and they washed and dried them for me as well.which saved me more money because I pay to wash my clothes and got the pee smell right out too!

This is the very best business I've been to and I'm so glad I met you guys.you truly truly care for the pet first and foremost which is a breath of fresh air for sure especially in hard times like we have going on at the moment in this world.
I recommend this clinic very highly and I won't hesitate to call them up when I need further care for my baby

I have been going to this vet clinic for years now, nothing but amazing service and knowledgable staff.hands down best bet clinic o have ever been too!

I brought my Boy Riley over to get neutered. The next day he was himself, playing, running around the house. Amazing work done by the vet.

Very helpful when my cat may have had an intestinal blockage. They made time for him because it was an urgent matter and even though I couldn't be in the office because of COVID, they called me while I sat in my car and kept me updated on everything that was happening and sought approval for everything that needed to be done before doing it while explaining possible side effects etc.

Both of my cats were fixed and received their shots here a few years ago and it was a good experience every time. The resident cat is quite cute too (in the photo).

After 13 years with cats, and relocating a few times, we've been to several different clinics. At this point, I can confidently say I wouldn't bring Jack the cat anywhere else. We live right next door to Forest lawn animal clinic, Jack the cat and I will happily travel to the other side of the city so he can see his doctor.

Always a great experience here. Staff are caring, concerned and knowledgeable. Dr. Qi, is excellent, very professional.

Fantastic vet, we take my partners dog there regularly for allergy shots (cytopoint) and this vet by far has the most affordable pricing for it. The staff are friendly and helpful, and genuinely care about your pet. Cannot recommend highly enough!

This is our favorite veterinary clinic! The staff are so kind and helpful. Never over charge us, or have hidden fees. We have a large dog and a cat, this clinic has always been there for us- and makes being a healthy pet owner a total walk in the park! Even if I just need a little extra support on the phone with questions about my dog- they're always on it thank you CHVC! We appreciate everything you guys do for our four legged friends.

With great gratitude that I live close by as my Coco, my dog, was stung by a wasp in the yard and went into complete anaphylactic shock. I drove to the clinic which would not be open for over 30 minutes and she was in shut down. Janet was just coming in to work and got Dr. Qi's attention to open the door. They got her in and worked tirelessly to revive her. I was hysterical and they treated me with so much kindness, respect and calm. Coco is much better and I am so thankful for the triage that was done and the kindness that was shown to Coco and to me. Know always where the closest vet to you is in case of a life threatening issue. My vets were in the south! This clinic will be Coco's doctors from now on. THANK YOU!

We had been doctor Qi's client for years, he was good. But I feel so disappointed this year, and I feel regret to referral him to all my friends.

1. Last time we went to doctor Qi with two of my dogs. He said both dogs' teeth is bad and they need teeth cleaning, which worth 400-700 or hundred dollars. However several vets from VCA praised my dogs' teeth for times, and one of my dog is only two years old. We refused the teething cleaning service and he was even trying to sell tooth cleaning supplies and some dewormers.

2. My friend went to doctor Qi with concerns about her cat. Doctor Qi said it is NOTHING, and sold her some daily supplies for cats. But the issue came back, she had to go to another vet.

3. I made an appointment with doctor at 2: 30 p.m. And we was there on time. Doctor Qi was there serving another customer after 2: 30 p.m, which is fine for a few mins. However after that customer left, he said: need a few mins.and he was looking for another customer in parking lot. Then we wait for ten more mins, he came out and said: "a few mins" again, and did this again. I was out of patience and it made me feel its meaningless to make an appointment with doctor Qi. I left with anger and he called me back twenty mins later. I asked him what's the meaning of making an appointment. He answered: we are not 100% guaranteeing. Since you are not guaranteeing my time and my dogs' health, I am not coming back. Bye doctor Qi.

Dr. Qi is very thorough and helpful with my animals. He's my go-to vet. I trust him and his staff to look out for my pets.

I didn't feel very welcomed. The veterinarian didn't even pet our dog when he first met him and wasn't very friendly. I visited this place just because it's the only holistic veterinarian in the city and I had some questions regards the raw diet, but the veterinarian wasn't very eager to answer all my questions. He kind of brushed it off. Anyways, I live so far and there is no point on visiting this clinic anymore. I'll find a friendlier veterinarian right by my house.

Breeder recommended this place and Dr. Qi. I trust my breeder and therefore will drive out of my way to come here. Speaks volumes that a place is breeder recommended. She trusts Dr. Qi with the welfare of her litters and so far have only had to do routine vaccines so, so far so good. Prices are reasonable and they also subscribe to vet secure website which has lots to read also good facebook page that features pets and any tidbits they want to pass along. Everyone is very friendly and you get greeted at the door. Dr. Qi also asked if I had any questions at the end of my appointment. They are very fast and my puppy isn't the best at being touched by other people, but Dr. Qi and his receptionist was very patient and didn't make me feel rushed or uncomfortable that my puppy was overly excited.

Since we got our Doberman calgary Holistic has been invaluable to us, they are always helpful and ensure Persephone is healthy and happy, Susan is always reachable for any questions big or small and Calgary Holistic really takes every animals personality into consideration to make sure they also have a great experience!

I was a little nervous but the staff were great about making me feel better. My cat is doing great now and is healing awesome.

Dr Chi is a great veterinarian. He knows all about herbs, acupuncture, chiropractic and western veterinarian medicine. He is attentive, knowledgeable and is kind and considerate. His staff is great.

Doctor here is very humble and he even recommended holistic mushrooms for my cat with tumor an she has her tumor removed an I got her on the mushrooms to treat her immune system from antibiotics an shes so happy now an more renergized then ever:) hes a good doctor with a good soul!

This vet hospital is very unprofessional. They don’t seem to care about the animals they treat. They want to run all kinds of tests and xrays without valid reasons. They just want to cash out. I took my dog to another vets office and they helped quickly, treated my dog well and confirmed the tests the Holistic Vet Hospital wanted to run were not necessary or needed. Very disappointed in this clinic.

Dr. Qi and team are great people for our pets health care, Milo is in good hands, come visit them.

Dr. Qi has been my vet for several of my cats for over 17 years. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. The clinic is well run and Dr Qi is great with me and my pets.

Phenomenal clinic - went above and beyond. Their love of animals was apparent before I even got in the door. Fair pricing and decent parking (for being on 16th ave). You can trust your furry family members with them 100%.

Went in to find out what was going on with my cat’s bladder issues. Paid for a urine and blood test, but was given no details how to get the urine test done (ie.to make sure my cat’s bladder is full, etc). Tried to get it done twice but it didn’t work. When I asked to get a refund, they said I couldn’t get it. They also informed me the time had lapsed for us to get the urine test and if I wanted it, I would have to pay again. None of this information was provided upfront - the vet and staff did not provide any information to help this. When I asked if there were any ways to do the urine collection at home, they didn’t offer any help. I thought it would be a worthwhile place to go to, but it’s been the most frustrating experience with a vet clinic.

This is the best vetinary clinc I have ever been to. They work with the meow foundation, so they help low income take care of their cats. I love that it's holistic. They took amazing care of my three cats. They all needed to be fixed the same day. They did it with out complaint. They were living to the animals as well. I will tell all my friends about them. They will be the only clinic I will trust with my cats. They are 2 makes that are 8 months and weigh over 12 pounds each. And they said they will still grow. They aslo checked them and said they were not fat at all. Just big boys. Their Lil sister is 6 lbs. And she was healthy as well. So yes they deserve 5 stars. I will recommend them to all my friends.

Over the last week I had been talking with this clinic on ear cropping filled out the required paper work and read everything they do for the procedure. First they mixed up my appointment the day before saying the thought I wanted it the following week when I had told them the pup leaves on the 24th and I was driving in from Edmonton. After 2 hours later I get a call saying they can do it on the Saturday not the Friday which is totally fine things happen. I then leave Edmonton Friday and make it there before close as I worked and made arrangements for the pup to stay over night for the early morning procedure. Not even 15 min after leaving the clinic the call me to tell me they can’t do it Becahse my dogs not a certain weight.over the last week they never told me the dog had to be a certain weight they only said it has to be at least 7 weeks.and I talked to them a week straight while making the neccessary arrangements for my pup. No I drove 3 hours and 25 min to get this done although The receptionist or person who helped me did seem really sorry about the lack of communication I now had to drive back with nothing but I’m sorry we didn’t let you know things changed. Their paperwork and contact says 7 weeks how Are these things not updated and staff not informed when you change a requirement? ! Just blows my mind. Especially when they say you have to read and sign everything before they book you in and get their information is not updated. I for one will not go back there they lost my business for future!
