Awesome as always. I dine in a few times and I always enjoeyd it. Service was fast. Meal delicious and the view (well, check the forecast before you go) as there is great view to mointains, just not today, but still enjpyable. Thank you Matt for your service today
A must visit if you’re in the area. Beautiful 360 degree view of the city, especially downtown. Also has few areas where you can stand on glass only and look straight down at the street below. A lot of interesting facts about the tower, inside, friendly staff to answer questions or take pictures if you need.
It's an iconic point in the city of Calgary but I didn't love it, in 10 minutes you've covered everything and you don't have access to re-enter later, such as to see the sunset. The entrance seemed expensive to me, for the short tour that it is. If you want to meet him, that's fine, but honestly, you can save yourself the visit. It is my personal opinion, there will be those who have loved it. Not so much to me.
What an adrenaline rush. I’ve never been to the calgary tower nor any tower for that matter and it was so cool. Felt a little woozy after standing on the glass floor! It was a great experience! Took the elevator up, it wasn’t clear glass it showed you a video of how high up you’re going. Then a very big 360 degrees observation deck. Movie theatre showing you the history of the tower can eat up there also.gift shop on the main floor. It was worth going to see for sure i recommend stopping here if you have the time!
Didn't actually go up the tower. I was looking for nice "Canada" toques for Christmas gifts that were being sent to Japan. I really couldn't find them anywhere, but the gift shop at the tower had them. A good selection and super cute. Perfect for what I was looking for. Thank you.
Love the Calgary Tower! Not only for taking pictures of but I try to visit at least once a year. The view is unlike anything else in Calgary. You can see a 360 view of the city, plus they have a glass floor to terrify relatives on.
There's also a restaurant right at the top called Sky 360. Not sure if they still have them but if they do, order the donuts! So good.
Highly recommend visiting the Calgary Tower if you're a tourist visiting our city.
It's difficult for me to leave a lower review for our beloved city landmark as the Calgary Tower has been the place of many cherished visits in the past. I have faithfully visited at least once each year since 2009 before the pandemic happened. My recent visit left a lot to be desired. I found it a bit strange in how they packed us all in together in the elevator especially during a pandemic. In the pre-pandemic visits of our past, the most people in an elevator was four. We were packed in this time wall-to-wall. Our visit on the deck was the standard of how past visits were in terms of the views offered. Social distancing is encouraged on the glass observation deck as with walking in one direction indicated by arrows. The ambiance was really off the night I was there. There were a lot of running, stomping and screaming children. Although this is not the fault of anyone in particular, it's important to keep in mind if you're expecting a quiet or diminutive evening out. I believe if you want a fuller experience of the tower, I would suggest dining at the revolving restaurant. The entrance fee is waived if you dine in and you get to experience a meal while getting a 360 degree view at your own pace. For nearly a $45 visit (including parking) to just traverse what felt like a playground above the city at times made for a somewhat disappointing birthday visit.
We mostly enjoyed our evening and dinner at the Tower last night. Food was delicious. It was noisier than expected and what we have experienced in the past but our reservation was earlier than we usually make it. However, when we made our reservation no one let us know they were putting a time limit on our stay. The server was gently pushing for us to order and finally said there was another reservation at 830. This surprised us so we started to excelerate our evening. At 830 the manager came to inform us we had to leave before 9 but we could order dessert if we wanted. We did not and left fairly quickly. They were trying to be nice about it, but at $50 per entree plus drinks, it's not the kind of service we expected. We were entertaining new guests and expected to have a leisurely fine dining experience. So for the price of the experience and the rushed service we rate it only at 3 as the food was great. If we had been informed at time of reservation that our dining time was limited we would have gone elsewhere. I actually cancelled another reservation to go to the tower and now wish I hadn't. It will be awhile before I go again. So many restaurants in the city to choose from.
Classic tourist destination for Calgary. Great views and history on the observation deck. I have not tried the restaurant but I image it would be a pretty cool experience for a drink
It was awesome… don’t miss the restaurant. It’s highly recommended. However, you need to be vaccinated. Ticket for adult 18 $ CAD and for the child 9 $ CAD
Nice view of the city. Its a 1 time must visit place. Its worth the price and time if you visit the restaurant as well on the days its open. Otherwise there are few other places where you can have a great view of the city.
Clean and bright, you may sightsee the rocky mountains in the distance. Unfortunately got there in cloudy day, but I would visit again one more time. Not expensive for trying it once
The coolest place in Calgary to visit hands down! It can be costly for a big family to visit the tower but its well worth it for the thrill. Everyones first time here is fun and there is a restaurant right below or McDonalds a couple of blocks away. This is one of Calgary tourist spot so book ahead and save a spot!
They have a good system to protect everyone from covid here. You have to wait for people to go down before you can go up the tower. Love the view from this place.
Very good place to visit, quick access at a good price. Has a convenience store with affordable prices. The panoramic photographs that can be obtained from this place are spectacular
Only $18 for an adult, though there isn’t much to do up at the top but walk around, read the info and stand on the class floor. Was a cool experience though.
Calgary Tower is one of the many towers that will test your fear of heights. There’s an area at the top where you can step on fibre glass and look down on the street below you. You can also view the city of Calgary, and as far as I can recall, you can even see the mountains from afar! The ticket price when I came here (about 4 years ago) was roughly around $21 per head which I think is a little bit pricey, but still fair and worth it. There’s also a souvenir shop in the ground floor - great to bring as gifts for family and friends.
Food is ok, the experience is worth it. I had the prime rib, my husband had the steak special, and both were ok, but nothing special. Being up in the tower was pretty neat though.
Great experience but eventually now there much higher buildings around it so hopefully the view gets better if they think of increasing the height as city is thinking to relocate it.
The Calgary tower is the centerpiece of the city and playfully illuminated at night which helps you find it, even through the worst snow storm! We didn’t have a chance to go up the tower, but imagine the views to be worthwhile given the surrounding landscape of Calgary.
I enjoyed the history lesson behind the iconic buildings that surround the tower and the tower itself. However, I thought the price tag for children was a little high especially for a child who would not be able to appreciate the full experience
We brought our grandson up for the experience. The view was great and we enjoyed the glass floor too but I was disappointed to find there wasn't a place to sit and relax, would it be too much to ask for some vending machines and to line the inner walls with benches or even some table and chairs? Now I realize that people don't pay to check out the decor but it was uninviting and bland to say the least and led me to believe the idea was to move people in and out as fast as the cash register goes cha ching, cha ching.
Not the Calgary tower I remember, liked it better when it was the husky tower.
Lots of history and an iconic landmark of Calgary. Too bad it is so uneventful when you get to the top. Everything is closed on the observation deck. You are literally walking around in the dark. Everyone is crowded around the one area of glass that let's you look down below. The audio set they give you helps a bit but still is quite dull to listen to. It is definitely not worth the price of admission. Sorry but the view is better from the ground looking up.that's free.
As an at home rourist; I recommend visiting. Amazing view on a clear day; and although the 360 restaurant is outdated in decor; the food was good and the service friendly.
From the tower, there's a good view around the city. But the restaurant was an utter disappointment! It was outdated, and ripped furniture. The cups (glasses) stinked so bad and the replacements (after a request) were not any better. The servers (except one) were not so friendly and cheerful working for a hot tourist attraction. Not even a smile! And the change from paying the bill was not brought back. Possibly assumed they deserved a large tip for replacing stinky glasses for us. If you ever plan to visit the tower, just pay the expensive fee to go up to the view point, as the restaurant will leave your whole experience in disappointment!
Très bon point de vue sur toute la ville de Calgary. Le restaurant tourne doucement et permet d'avoir la vue sur les différentes parties de la ville en dégustant un très bon repas.
I would say this is a must visit when in Calgary. It’s a little pricey ($18 per person) but the views are amazing. Yes some buildings are taller but you can still see the river and get a good city view so it’s well worth it in my opinion. It was smoky when I was in Calgary so my view was a little hazy but I still enjoyed myself.
I went here for dinner for my boyfriend on one of my last nights in Calgary. The restaurant here is lovely, cute and romantic, and reasonably priced. You get a nice lunch or dinner for two for about 50 dollars and complimentary coffee, and observation on the tower is free. The gift shop here is very cute as well with many small and unique souvenirs for both calgary in general as well as the tower. The location is nice too, right downtown, and within walking distance of an outdoor mall which is nice to go to while you wait for your reservation or after.
Another tower on my list. Done. Overall a great experience. By reserving a lunch or dinner at the Tower restaurant you don't have to pay the entrance fee to the Tower balcony. It was Thursday and there wasn't any line ups. The food was great, personal as well. Beautiful view (despite the rain and gloomy sky). The only thing that set me off is that he floor was spinning too fast. I'm not sure what are the standards regarding of speed at such places and other people seemed fine, but me. Got very dizzy, sick and ended up with headache for the day. Maybe because I have vertigo time to time, however it wasn't active around time of my visit to the Calgary Tower. So maybe stay away if have one too.
This is the first thing you do in Calgary. Take the head set and take the time to listen. A great way to spend half a day and discover areas to explore further.
A nice historical story. If you've been to the CN tower this tower does not compare height wise to it. Large buildings that surround the Calgary Tower block some views of the city (unlike when it was first built).
Really cool thing to do, especially for tourists. As a Calgarian it was super nice as a special occasion, but it isn't worth it compared to other fun things around town.
