Used to love this clinic, it was so convenient and easy to see someone.
Now it's pretty much impossible and doctors never stay. Very unfortunate.
23 January 2023 16:10
Possibly The most poorly managed clinic in Edmonton. I have been waiting 5 years for a consistent doctor. This clinic is for family doctors and their patients. Not a walk in clinic anymore. Do not go here for help they will have none for you.

Who runs your social media account? (INSTAGRAM) I have multiple screenshots of posts in support of the freedom convoy and/or saying personal opinions of Trudeau, personal selfies etc on your BUSINESS account. I have called several times to complain as this happens several times a week! The posts end up getting taken down - but a few days later the woman who is running your instagram account keeps posting her personal stuff on your clinics instagram. This is highly unprofessional and needs to be dealt with! I am sick of seeing this on your clinics page - and I am sure there are many other patients who are too.

When your family doctor drops you during a pandemic and the clinic says they have absolutely no doctors who can see you even though you got a letter saying they do.
30 January 2022 18:51
My wife and i's doctor was very nice and professional. She wasted no time in giving us advice and info about our situation. We called 2 days prior to book an appointment and waited no longer than 10 minutes on a friday. We're hoping to eventually change family doctors.
23 January 2022 8:03
I’ve never had any problems at this clinic. I’ve had 2 family doctors, one has retired. I love my new family doctor, & feel safe knowing he listens and understands me. Staff is always very friendly, & usually rly quick in the morning!

I was just denied medical services by Dr Ibi. I have a medical mask exemption written by another Dr in this clinic. I have no symptoms of illness. Dr Ibi walked into the treatment room, completely covered head to toe in ppe including mask AND shield. She refused to treat me because of my mask exemption. No one could explain to me how i could possibly be a threat to someone completely covered in ppe? Fear and prejudice has apparently replaced medical science. Shouldn't a Dr know better? !

Let me start by saying I love my doctor here. She's kind and caring and knows her stuff. However, I've been waiting 7 weeks to find out if a rather urgent referral has been sent and to whom and if I even have an appointment, with the office not giving me any info, if I can get through. The last two times I waited well over an hour on hold before the system disconnected me. I ended up making an appointment with my doctor online which, quite frankly seems like a waste of my and her time for me to go in just to ask if a referral is faxed and to who so I could possibly get on a cancellation list etc.

Edit: it is now September. I went to my Dr in June for a gynecological issue and she said a referral would be sent off, and named a specific physician. I called their office today to ask if it had been received, nope. I called callingwood crossing. "Oh it was sent in June, you just have to wait. " "Well, I phoned the office, they never received it. " "Oh, maybe it was missed. I'll send it now. " So, I've already waited 3 months. No follow up from your office, so now I have to wait for who knows how long for an appointment? If it was actually sent, that is. This isn't the first time a referral wasn't sent, as per my original review. Something needs to change here.

Waited an hour after having an appointment booked six weeks prior to be told they marked me as a no show after I checked in and sat next to the reception desk. I was told I'd have to wait another week to get in I asked for the manager they said she'd call me back. I called back in as I hadn't received a call was told she was in a meeting and would follow up the following day. No response. The worst customer experience after 17 years going to the same clinic it
16 September 2021 22:33
Staff are very nice at location But trying to book online is a nightmare. I can never get it to accept an appointment. Also phone line is always busy. Faster for me to drive there and make an appointment in person. This shouldn't be necessary.
13 September 2021 18:19
I needed to start seeing a new Dr last fall, and after reccomendations from friends decided to try Callingwood Crossing. The dr I saw was Dr. Colthrust and it was a very positive experience. Its very difficult receiving compassionate care as a fat woman, but he took all my concerns seriously, and listened to what i had to say. Thank you to the whole team at Callingwood Crossing!
11 September 2021 18:02
Called at 9am to see if I could see a DR, was instructed yes and to come in right away. Stood at the front for probably 15 minutes before the lady would even look up to let me go to the front desk to check in. Then the front desk told me I could come back at 4pm and proceeded to argue with me that "they don't know who I spoke to on the phone because they wouldn't have told me to come in. " So a complete waste of time and extremely inconsiderate! Will never come back here. Unsure why so many people feel the need to work in a profession which requires extreme compassion and sensitivity.

This clinic is ok, the staff are always friendly and easy to work with. My largest complaint would be organization. I find it odd being asked what my appointment is regarding by both the nurse and doctor when I arrive. When I book the appointment I inform them of the reason and confirm it when I arrive.that should be communicated to all parties so they are prepared. This doesn't give me a lot of confidence at times when the clinic has called me in to discuss something (which usually only happens when it is something concerning) and the doctor doesn't know why I'm there. This lack of communication also lead to 3 appointments needed to remove a mole on my arm which could have been done in one even though I was very clear about what I needed. I lost hours at work because of this. Update: the doctore who removed the mass on my arm was not fully removed and it is still there. I can't say I'll be excited to return.

I have never waited longer than twenty minutes for an in- person appointment- Dr Heatherington listens and is very empathetic. She also recognizes mental health as a "real" issue. I also have had a few phone appointments and feel that they were very effective.
28 August 2021 3:23
I'd been trying to find a doctor I liked for years and I've struggled between feeling judged by the staff or dismissed by the doctor. Coming to Callingwood Crossing felt comfortable and safe, in the middle of the pandemic no less! The staff was so friendly and Dr. Chan made me feel heard and valued. I was so pleased and am so happy with the care I've recieved. I don't feel pressured or judged and I look forward to medical appointments.
27 August 2021 19:46
Was really sick back last year and without the care and persistents of Dr McCovey I'm not sure I would be here today. Also I have had Dr kholler as my Dr for the past 25 plus years and he has been a Great Doctor to our entire Family.
24 August 2021 21:28
My doctor, Dr. Colthrust, is an amazing, caring doctor. Highly recommend. The office can get quite busy and crowded but the girls and guys on desk handle everything very well. Its a very clean office and the MOA's make sure of it. Love going to visit my doctor finally.
21 August 2021 21:23
This is the best clinic by far. They have great staff, and the doctors are outstanding. They treat patients with kindness, care. They make sure u understand your diagnosis, work with you for treatment whatever that may be. They always have lots of staff, walk ins, and many doctors male and female. My doctor quit recently, and they havent missed a beat with my care.
I give them 10 stars!
21 August 2021 14:27
Wonderful experience with this clinic. Our family doctor, Dr Rawle Colthrust is great and he immediately made me and my husband comfortable and welcome. Likewise, He has been very attentive to our health issues and addressed them all. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a family doctor

I was looking for a new doctor as mine is retiring. So I called them and asked if they were accepting new patients, the person I spoke to said yes and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. I said yes and booked an appointment for a couple of weeks later. When I got to the appointment I was 10 minutes early, waited in line to go through the screening process (which was just a woman asking everyone a couple of questions about covid symptoms). I get to the check in desk and they tell me I am 15 minutes late for my appointment and the doctor probably won't be able to see me. I said that I called and double checked my appt so I was pretty confident I was on time. She didn't seem to believe me but went and asked the doctor if she'd still see me. Ironically, there was another person there who was told she was late but she was also sure she was on time.

I get into the room a minute later when the doctor come rushing in. She says that I'm late so she has to rush and her next client is coming in 5 minutes. Then she sits down and says "ok.go! " So I briefly explain I needed help with my medication and explained my doctor is retiring. She said "well I'm not taking new patients, no one here is. And I can't just change your medication without going through the check list and making sure I diagnose you. " I said that when I called they said they were taking new patients and she just dismissed that. Then she goes on for about 45 seconds about how my symptoms could be something else. She told me it's best if I don't self diagnose. I said I didn't self-diagnose and I went through all that with my doctor and you should see that in the records they sent over. She repeated she has to do it herself.

The doctor ended up just saying she would be happy to do an assessment later but I would have to make sure I'm on time and then we could look at options. But she isn't accepting new patients so it would be a couple weeks. Then she offered to give me some resources to look into stuff on my own, but if I decided to book with her to make sure I was on time.

She was quite condescending and I left incredibly discouraged.

Very well organized, appointments easy to arrange, several doctors available. Nice clean office. Dr. Colthrust is thorough, doesn't rush the appointment, ready to hear your concerns.
14 August 2021 8:16
I was greeted with professionalism and kindness. Wait time was very short. Dr. Colthrust is a very kind and knowledgeable man who will take the time to listen to you. I was lucky enough to get him as my physician over 5 years ago and continue to make appointments with him even after his move to Edmonton.
12 August 2021 9:55
When I was going to this clinic. I no longer go because 2 doctors I saw there are no longer with this clinic.
So I no longer know how they are, but they keep sending me a request for a review.
11 August 2021 10:41
Very clean, organized office. Great covid check in at the door. Friendly staff. I did not feel rushed with my physician though surprised by her physical exam. Was a lot less than what I thought would be for a yearly exam. Felt she missed some body parts- must be the new way of doing things.
Only thing I wish could change is that the physician sits on the computer and their back is turned away from you. I feel with technology taking over so much that a medical clinic this size could create a better way to have the physician facing their patients while working on the computer. Other places have this and it works great. It will allow you to feel like you are part of the conversation especially since it is about you.

If you're reading this and have an upcoming appt here (with anyone, but my experience is mainly with Dr McAvoy) you may need to check and see if there's a horseshoe lodged somewhere, because you are in luck. I've never experienced better care from a doctor in my life, the clinic is busy (which makes sense, the services are amazing), but very efficient.

The waiting room is really nice, but it's not a matter of style over substance. The one time I did use the can there, I was quite relieved to see how nice and clean it was (I tend to be reasonably cautious when using a clinic's bathroom). I can't really think of anything I dislike about the clinic to make this review seemed balanced, so. It's by a Subway and Subway is gross? That's all I can think of. I guess the parking lot can get crowded, but it's a reasonably sized lot, so you're very likely to find parking out front. There's a lot of street parking nearby, so it won't ever be an issue.
03 August 2021 1:36
Dr. Mischenko is fantastic. She takes her time, does not rush and offers very good advice. I have never had to wait more than 3 minutes at the clinic. Well doe!
02 August 2021 0:21
I'm really happy to be part of family Callingwood crossing medical clinic. Especially (!) I'm lucky, because my family doctor is dr. Natalia Mischenco. She is the best!
01 August 2021 4:57
Went in with hope to finally a family doctor. Being an American 2 years new to Edmonton i was surprised when Dr. Goronga was also from the States. WELL that meeting ended up being the most angry and embarrassed id ever been. She literally treated me like a 20 year old junkie that was "scripting" her or something. As a 37 year, married, mother of 3 daughters I quickly decided THIS IS NOT A MATCH. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
30 July 2021 6:29
Have been seeing Dr. Romano for over 30 years. Best Doctor ever! Elaine is also the best who works with Dr. Romano. Years and years of great service and repore!
22 July 2021 1:49
Great medical team, probably one of the best in Edmonton - just need to work on the wait times, and how they are managed at the front end. Not a fan of labels being created if you miss an appointment - especially when doctors have missed appointments or being left in an examine room for four hours waiting for a doctor. My rating is totally directed towards the medical help I receive.
19 July 2021 21:47
Difficult to find words to describe Dr Romano.a wonderful human who is a wonderful physician.the perfect choice for our family.truly well beyond brilliant. Thank-you Dr Ken!
02 July 2021 8:24
I finally have found my HOME medical clinic. I love how all the physicians work together especially when my family DR is not in. The staff has always been SUPER awesome to deal with. Dr. McEvoy is the absolute most amazing Dr I have ever had. Overall, I would recommend this medical clinic to anyone looking for a new family Dr.
01 July 2021 22:01
Dr Pariy is wonderful. Receptionists are good, but a woman standing at the front would immediately yell “reception” at you when you walk in. One patient who came in did not understand English well and the one woman at the front kept repeating and obviously embarrassed the patient. I believe this could have been handled differently, but everything else and the nurses of the clinic are amazing.
01 July 2021 20:16
My family have been patients of Dr. Ken Romano at Callingwood Crossing Medical Centre for many years from when our children were toddlers and are now adults. We’ve received excellent service and support from him, his associates and staff.

Thank You,
29 June 2021 1:20
This is an excellent medical clinic. I have been going here for many years. The staff and Dr’s are always friendly and punctual. They go above and beyond to make me and my family well cared for. Additionally the changes they’ve made due to the pandemic make me feel very safe. 5 stars!
20 June 2021 2:20
The family doctors are overbooked here. Everytime I call to make an appointment I have to wait two weeks or more to see my GP. Don't get me wrong I love my doctor, just wish it was easier to get an appointment. Also, you need to watch out for some of their receptionists, I've been double booked and told misinformation multiple multiple times so I always triple check with them to make sure I have the proper information when booking an appointment. (There is one receptionist who always gets it right and does an amazing job but I forget her name)
16 June 2021 21:57
Doctor Romano has been my wife and my doctor from 2008. He is an amazing doctor that cares about his patients. He is very knowledgeable, intelligent and has a very good common sense. His assistants are incredible people also. Thank you guys for you amazing service. Inna, Sergiy
16 June 2021 16:27
I would like to thank Dr. Smith (she is dermatologist at this clinic) for amazing job on my moles. She was so attentive to my requests.
09 June 2021 10:49
Making an appointment is easy and the waiting time inside is not very long. Dr. Colthrust is very friendly and accomodating.
03 June 2021 18:19
Friendly staff and very knowledgeable doctors and nurses. Everyone there is very kind and caring. Doctors really take the time to listen to you and help.
30 May 2021 7:47
Dr. Pariy is our amazing doctor-we are very grateful for her excellent care for our family. Her nurse Diane is also excellent. The front staff are great-very prompt & organized. The clinic is in a very accessible location, next door to a pharmacy & very clean. HIGHLY recommend!

My doctor has given me the best care possible and really understands my physical and mental health challenges
24 November 2020 20:30
The team I have at the clinic have made all the difference in getting my medical conditions under control. Dr. Mishchenko has been incredible. I feel heard and that my concerns have been taken seriously. Pauline, the diabetic nurse, has gone up and beyond in providing good information and support.
I am grateful for the care these women provide.
Gratitude

I see Dr. Liu and she’s a great doctor, always on time and listens to me. However the Clinic itself is so poorly managed. I’m on hold for upwards of 20 minutes to ask a question or make a appointment.
10 November 2020 9:59
Dr. McVoy is a wonderful doctor but be prepared to wait 3 weeks at least to get an appointment with her. Yes she is that good. Very attentive and cares about all her patients
Just wish she wasn't so busy. That is why only 4 out of 5 for this clinic.
25 October 2020 10:08
I started seeing a doctor at this place about 6 months ago. I love the doctor but there is absolutely no way to reach the office. I have called many times and left several messages without any response. Whether or not they are busy, it shouldnt be this hard to get the basic healthcare I need in order to survive.
22 October 2020 22:03
I give up. Hour after hour waiting on the phone. When u are waiting in the office they just chat. Why does no one answer the phone?
22 October 2020 12:00
Phone wait times are ridiculous, it’s nearly impossible to get through and make an appointment. When being told a prescription would be faxed for me the pharmacy didn’t receive it until a month and a half later.

Dr Axford is amazing and the only reason I am willing to stay with this clinic
09 October 2020 18:02
I am not impressed with the experience at this location. One Doctor on the weekends like come on. If you know your gonna be busy at least have 2 doctors. And waiting 2 hours for a prescription refill is unacceptable. Don’t get me started. Every time I visit this location, the minimum wait time is 1.5 hours.
08 October 2020 22:05
Recently I've been completely unable to get through and require follow up for serious health issues. Also had an issue last year where a person other than myself was able to speak to my doctor about me. This seriously impacted the quality of care that I recieved and as a result has left me far less trusting of medical staff. I essentially had to see my psychiatrist before the GP would take me seriously again. Looking for a new doctor and hopefully a better experience regarding my health. Was with this clinic for almost 3 years.
15 September 2020 10:34
The receptionist's are rude and don't call you back if you call regarding something they need to find an answer to. Referrals don't get sent in a timely manner, and now I am having issues with refill prescriptions being faxed to my pharmacy as well, which is extra frustrating because the pharmacy has contacted them also and not received a response in almost a week.

The last few times I called, my call went straight to voicemail and I was instructed to leave a voicemail. Not surprisingly, I have not received a call back.

At least they have finally figured out their online booking system so I can actually book an appointment with my doctor.
08 September 2020 16:21
Unfortunately I have had a terrible experience with this clinic lately. They have essentially turned off their telephones and it is now impossible to get through to the reception in order to book an appointment with my family doctor. I have been trying to contact them for almost 2 weeks now and despite 50 or 60 calls at this point, I have never been able to get through, there is just a message saying this person is not taking calls. By sifting through other very unhappy comments on their Facebook page, I managed to find a response from the clinic stating that they turn on a voice mail machine for 1 hour a day from noon to 1pm. This was not posted on their website or anywhere that anyone would easily find it. Their online booking request form doesn't work at all either. Essentially I cannot reach my family doctor. I find this to be an appalling situation as their clients are essentially being denied healthcare. I've booked a meet and greet with a new family doctor not far away, and amazingly they picked up their phone on the first try. Callingwood Crossing Medical Clinic is not run well and has not been able to meet my needs as a patient. I've read the responses to many others here who have complained about the same problems, and the clinic's answer is to blame high call volume and expansion of the clinic - this is not a great excuse. If your call volume is that high then you have taken on too many patients for your clinic size and for your infrastructure. Just shrugging and saying that's too bad is terrible management.

Called about emergency, they hung up on me.is this Canada or am I in a third world country. Unbelievable.
06 August 2020 2:26
At times the phones can take up to an hour to get through. Appointments with favorite dr might take weeks. However, booking with any of the other Dr's is quick. I also appreciate they take walk ins. Fantastic that they are open 7 days a week. My regular dr is kind, compassionate and very helpful. Reception staff are always helpful
28 July 2020 12:54
Your phone number is disconnected and your online booking says no doctors are available. You guys shut down the business or what's the deal? Kinda need to book an appointment.
10 April 2020 21:47
My husband and I greatly appreciate the professional advice of Dr. Reichenaur, who is a great listener, intelligent, and easy to talk to. I always trust his opinion and oftentimes come to him for a second opinion after seeing other questionable medical professionals; however, the phone wait times are ridiculous. It should not take more than 10 minutes to get through to a receptionist. One time I called immediately when they opened (this was 7: 59 am), the clinic was still closed, so I called right at 8: 00am, and I was on hold for 10 minutes until someone accepted the call. The staff also call me three times for the results of blood work or to tell me I have an appointment with a specialist - can't they mark down when a patient has been successfully contacted, then stop calling?
14 March 2020 6:59
I have had an absolutely terrible experience as a patient at this clinic. It takes me 25+ minutes to speak to a receptionist every time I call, and I am always put on hold more than once. It takes me weeks to get in to see a doctor. The doctor I’ve seen here has never helped me properly. She gave me a medication that worsened my condition. She ignored my persistent infection even when it had gone away and come back several times, she still has not helped it. I have been seeing her for several months and I plan to switch doctors as soon as I can. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. The only positive is that with an appointment I’ve never waited in the waiting room more than 15 minutes.
