I have been looking at options to deal with my current financial situation for some time and I made the mistake of reaching out to a credit counselor instead of a license trustee directly. Thankfully my wife suggested I look a little deeper and I found Cameron Okolita and specifically Kelly. She listened to me and never once made me feel like I was being judged for my current situation. She was able to break down the entire process and what the next 6 years will look for me. She took the weight and burden I have been carrying off my shoulders and showed me there was a better way. She was very responsive and never pushed me to make a quick decision. If I can give one suggestion to anyone it is do your homework and don't be afraid to talk to someone like Kelly!

I cannot say enough good things about this company. Sherry has and was extremely knowledgeable and always very honest with me. She too said to me that this wasn't the end of the world (which of course is how I felt at the time). If you want a company that will tell you how to fix the mess you made (yes, it is you and no one else) this is the company that will help you. Yes, like everything, you have to do the work to help yourself like tracking income and expenses, going to the 2 meetings they require and keeping them up to date on address or phone number changes. Follow the rules and its painless. Don't follow the rules.well then the clients write a bad review.

I went into Cameron Okolita, desperately needing help because I was being sued by a bank, they were wonderful people never once did I feel judged or like I was a bad person for being in financial trouble. They worked with me and we came up with a plan of action that worked best for me, and now because of their help 4 years later I am no longer in debt, I worked hard to pay it off a year faster then I was supposed to. I have dealt with both the Calgary and Edmonton office, and let me tell you. They made this process so much easier! I had called around and many other companies felt very pushy and like they were trying to get numbers in the door - It made me very uncomfortable. When I called Cameron-Okolita, they were kind, understanding and made me feel better about the whole situation. I really wish I would have picked up the phone sooner! I highly recommend this company! There were certain things that I didn't understand, but they answered all my questions and were very knowledgeable.

I had struggled to stay afloat and the stress of never getting myself free of debt tormented me constantly. So far, so good. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat. For all the negative comments, I can only say these are probably negative people. I had to declare bankruptcy a couple months ago, after about 4 years of dodging CRA (over 200K), losing my house, dodging creditors (Over 100K), non stop harassment for a while. Partly my fault, partly the economy, either way not fun. Even lawyers coming to the door and posting stuff, truly draining experience. My life was hell, no money, accounts emptied by CRA. Nothing to my name. These guys had smiles on their faces, Kenny is awesome, so is Sherry, they love what they do, and will try to help you. They treated me like a human being, after being hounded by creditors for years and beaten down to nothing it was very humbling. Remember, nobody that comes through their doors is happy to be there. But these dudes are happy to help you, for most people this is a last resort. Remember also, that there are rules that you need to follow, pay the monthly fees, keep track of your money, they actually are trying to help. There is no easy solution. Finally, they are Licensed Insolvency Trustees, this is very important. If you are looking for help elsewhere, make sure you ask to see the license. A debt counsellor, or debt advisor or debt manager is NOT THE SAME THING. The fees and regulations are the same for all insolvency trustees in Alberta. Not the same for debt counsellors, debt managers etc. Don't get fooled. Anyways, so far so good, wish I had done this a couple years ago, I have piece of mind for the first time in about 4 years. Yes.

Really positive experience with all staff. Very helpful and guided me through a challenging time over the last two years. The key is to follow the prescribed steps, process, and advice they provide. Highly recommended!

A friend of mine went through here. There was a few mix ups with the whole covid thing going on but in the end they got it all figured out and he finished his bankruptcy in 9 months.

These people are of the worst kind! Not only do they not hold up their end of the agreement. If your going to offer people a service you should go the whole 9 rather than the first 2 and a half yards. Very heartless uncommunicative lazy people who only care about themselves. IDGITS! There are far better and supportive businesses out there don't use this one they only have their best interests on their minds.
