Camp Yowochas

I loved this camp when I was younger. I don't know what the age limit is but I so want to go again

I picked up my child from a bit over a week of camp. Lots to do. A week was as much time as needed. Keep in touch with your child while they are there. Kids can be stressed by the long separation. My child enjoyed it. Was a bit long for 1st sleep over camp. Well run and safety a priority.

This place sucks I went with my 6th grade class and they treated us like we were 5 yr olds all we did was play "fun" teamwork activities

What a great experience for kids! Places like this require exceptional people that deal with kids of all kinds. The staff this year were fantastic. I couldn't say anything bad whatsoever. Even some of the kids that were scared to try things, they gave them the encouragement while still allowing the kids to make their own decisions. Some great memories.

My daughter attended Yowochas in summer 2022. During her time she had a male staff member that did not understand what the word no means. He continually touched my daughter after being told no and that she was uncomfortable. This was reported to other staff with no changes. This male staff also sat in the girls room while they were trying to sleep and did not leave or talk to them when they said he was making them uncomfortable. My daughter left with memories of the first male to not listen to her when she said no, and even though she is open and honest about her experience it has negatively impacted her.

I reported this to a staff member (who was lovely), she said all the right things and said that the director would call back within a week. I have not received a call back which shows to me there might be more of an issue with the camp then this one male staff member. I had hoped to work with the camp on ensuring everyone is trained and campers are safe and feel safe there.

I would caution anyone considering this camp.
