Canada Diagnostic Centres - Mira

This is a great place to have a procedure done. They all explained what was happening at each step. Very kind and compassionate everyone!

I love going to Mira for all my radiology appts. The reception ladies are very nice.and the technician I had for my mammogram, she was spot on. She was very informative, walked through every step, was gentle and funny as heck too. It was a great experience.

I love the technician who did my ultrasound, friendly and gentle and caring. Keep up the great work. I appreciated the free parking.

This review goes for all the centers:
Called on Monday. On hold for ten minutes. Hung up, filled out the online form to be called back for booking (normal diagnostic centers don't make you wait for a callback when you're doing online booking- they either let you book *online*, or at least to choose to be contacted by email instead of phone for those of us who work during the day and can't just drop what we're doing to have phones on volume and answer them). This page says you'll get a call by 48 hours.
I get a call back on Thursday, while I'm obviously at work. Call them back, hold for 5 minutes, request a call back. No call back and now it's Saturday.

I'm not sure why they've spent so much money on a clinic that looks good, but can't be bothered to pay someone an extra $60 k a year to man the phone as a "booking coordinator", or to spend the money to have their online booking on the Jane app like other healthcare professionals.

Thanks but no thanks- I'm just going to go to Glenwood Radiology, who leave enough space in their clinic to do same day appointments for mammograms, and have the tech to measure breast density, whereas this clinic doesn't specify how current their technology is at ALL.

Get it together, guys!

Also, for those in here talking about parking: it's right on the website that those getting services at these clinics are to be asked their license plate to negate the parking fee.

I felt extremely unwelcomed yesterday after telling the receptionist that I was medically exempt from wearing a mask. She was very unfriendly and wouldn't even let me sit in the waiting room without a mask (I had a shield on). I needed the xrays done ASAP, otherwise I would have retrieved my paperwork and left. The only reason I chose this location is that an acquaintance had been there recently and staff worked along with her because she is also exempt. Very unprofessional. Not going back. 2 stars because the technicians were professional and kind.

Being pregnant during Covid is hard enough. I had two TERRIBLE scans at another diagnostic center and upon a recommendation from a friend booked in with Mira for my 20 week anatomy scan.
It was incredible. My tech (and student Kate) were so empathetic and never made me feel rushed. She was super knowledgeable and confident in her imaging and explained everything with patience and compassion. As my husband couldn't come in the room with me, I video called him later in the exam and the tech explained everything again to him. She treated my little son as if he was already here- calling him cute and full of character. I honestly didn't want to leave.
The difference between CDC and the "other" large diagnostic clinic is insane. I wasn't just a number here and during these times where everyone is stressed, it was really appreciated.

No wait, walk-in to do a quick 30 second x-ray. Staff were polite, professional. Location was clean.

My experience has been so awesome at the clinic the staff are extremely helpful and remember your name they are efficient and really care about the patients.
Dr. S. Ko is what I call the Bomb he is very precise, friendly, accurate and has done a lot of work on me and I am not a simple patient. I will be always thank full for his services he knows what pain is and he has the knowledge Education to help his patients. What a wonderful man he is. Thank-you Dr. Ko and Staff.

3 receptionist working (only 1 doing anything with patients, other 2 ignoring everyone), one lady in front of me, no one behind me in line. Person in front goes up to the desk and gets told to take a seat. I walk up and get told someone else is in front of me and take a seat. Few minutes later the receptionist stands up to get the lady that was in front of me to come up and sign in. After her however, she let anyone walk in go straight up. I ended up cutting in front of someone to sign in as her doing that pushed me back later than I should have been.
I went for cortisone shots, and was told absolutely nothing by anyone. Doctor doing the injections didnt say anything neither did the nurse. Have no clue what is or not normal. Have no clue what is considered "heavy usaged" of my wrist. They literally did the injections, sent me to the waiting room, then 3 minutes later had a nurse come out and ask how I felt. Said good and she said ok have a good day and walked away before I could ask anything.
Not impressed at all.

This facility has great people but when feeling Ill after a spinal injection and they were nice enough to give me food and juice. They complied when asked to get my BP checked. A helpful lady came but my reading of 170/120 didnt alarm her but that's a heart attack waiting. She kept checking but when I about ready to leave a co worker called her away as the doctor needed her and my condition wasnt worthy.
Point 2 as I have found in other places such as this their house keeping needs improvement. Dirty and damaged walls and baseboards. The usually dont have agreements with cleaning staff to clean walls I have been told previously by the health board
P.s. Maybe they should first aid train their staff on signs of BP distress etc.

Sherry, at the MIRA Centre in Edmonton is excellent in her patient interactions. Professional, fun and great at making you feel comfortable! Great job Sherry!

Today it snowed in Edmonton, the streets are awful and traffic is slow. I knew this and left early. I arrived 12 minutes past my appointment start time. Yes I fully admit I was late. Haven't we all sat in medical offices LONG after the appt was meant to start? Feeling that an understanding and compassionate person would recognize the extraordinary circumstances I was shocked when the admitting person would only allow a reschedule! This is at 8: 45 am, not two minutes to closing! A shameful display demonstrating a total lack of understanding or compassion of the circumstances of the day.
Avoid this place! Or arrive 30 minutes early by helicopter!
