Went in for an injection and was helped with by Aishia, John, and Dr. Katz. All three were kind, helpfull and patient. A perfect medical team. A Hude Thank Youto Symons Valley diagnostic Center. For all the help and kindness
Awsome clinic, front staff very friendly and deal with you quick, I had a cortisone injection and all the team were excellent! Dr doing the jab was very gently lol let's face it jabs arnt nice! She did fabulous! I was very well looked after by everyone!
Came in June 5 and we were advised we need an appointment for a chest Xray. Spend Half hour giving all info etc. Came in for our appointments June 6 for 830 am and 840 am and still sitting in the waiting area. What is the point of having an appointment if you are treated like a walk in. Now it is 910 am and still the simple Xray is not completed. Very poor service. 915 am.and talked to the desk manager who said she is next which did not happen.everyone who had later appointments were taken first and we arrived 20 minutes prior to appointment time.finally got in at 1015 am best to go to EFW and stay away from Canada Diagnostics.
Came with my wife for her 5: 15pm appointment. Since the appointment was after 4: 30pm, we had to ring to have them open the door. Encountered the rudest person ever. No greeting, just "do you have an appointment". We told her that it was for 5: 15pm. It was 4: 52pm, so she said rudely that we were early. Well, it's rush hour, and we tried to avoid stuck on the traffic.and almost every lab asks you to come in 15 minutes early. She gave my wife a form to fill. My wife asked if she could take the form and fill it out sitting on the chair in the waiting area. Even though the whole lab was empty, she was told to fill it out at the counter. The same rude person told my wife, "Tell your partner (me) that he can wait outside. " Firstly, she had been professional and courteous, she could have asked me politely to wait outside. Secondly, I would understand if it was busy time and the if the lab was full, that you tell a Patient's spouse/partner to wait outside, but it was not the case, just outright rudeness and unprofessionalism. No wonder this site gets 2.7 rating. The sad part is that we are stuck with this type of treatment as there is no alternative or competition.
If I can give a below 0 star I would give, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! I called earlier for my mom and they said to come in and bring the form for her to do her X-Ray. After arriving they denied they were on the phone and kept saying sorry … this person “RAMON” she is the RUDEST human being I have ever encountered, kept saying I am helping others and not talking to you … so unprofessional and disgusting, put yourselves in patients shoes and if you give misinformation OWN UP TO IT…. Pathetic
I have asked for the clinic manager, and RAMON stopped her colleague from giving her info and told her “just give them the clinic number” so poor and clearly shows how the staff just wants to hide all the unprofessionalism away, never again!
Came in for an a breast and pelvic ultrasound last Friday. Steve was my technician. I was in a lot of pain, as my bladder was overfull (and was probably close to exploding lol) and he took me in early and did both my tests back to back instead of the scheduled break in between tests - which I greatly appreciated. Steve was professional, thorough and had a very friendly bedside manner. He educated me showing me structures he was looking at, which is a welcomed contrast to services I've received in the past, where they are cold, barely speak to you, clicking away, while you feel anxious that they are taking pictures of tumorous masses. He was very patient and didn't make me feel bad for having my bladder too full, and also not being able to fully empty (in the past I was made to feel bad about this). He has 20 yrs experience and you can tell that he is very passionate about his work. I can't speak for the rest of the clinic, but I give Steve 5 stars. Thanks!
It was my first visit to CDC and I was very impressed. I was able to get an appointment in a reasonable timeframe, my appointment started on time (shocking as I wait over an hour every time at my family doctor), I was told to expect to be there 2 hours and was pleasantly surprised to be out 45 minutes earlier than that as they got my x ray done while waiting for ultrasound. The staff were all friendly, polite and professional. The location is pleasant, clean, I felt safe as all staff wore masks and had patients put one on if they came in without one. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone needing tests done
I came as walk on a round 10 am and they asked to book an appointment at 11: 30am. I came back at 11: 15am and put me on a waiting list for more than an hour. They don't respect people time waste more than 4 hours to get x- ray for my daughter done.
What is the point of giving appointments if you can’t even respect the time? I waited an hour even though I had an appointment. The staff was really nice
Very unfriendly staff. Not helpful at all. I only come here cuz its 5 min away from home. They dnt give you proper instructions and you end up wondering if you are done or not. They dont check on you until you are the one to ask if you are ok to go. Unbelievable. So much care for the word health "care" (NOT!)
I gave this place an average of 3 stars because I have had 2 very positive experiences here and one very bad one. The 1st 2 times I came for an ultrasound were amazing. Both the front staff and tech were the friendliest people and the tech made me very comfortable and the experience very enjoyable to a first time mother getting to see their baby on an ultrasound. The 3rd anatomy scan was performed at 19 weeks by a tech which I felt lacked professionalism. She told me right from the beginning that she needed to concentrate on the scan and to basically not ask any questions until the end which was fine, except the fact was throughout the 1 hr appointment, she kept sighing and groaning that the baby was not in an ideal position and would not turn over and expressing her frustration which led me to feel quite anxious and uncomfortable. She had me wipe down the gel several times and clean myself up and then proceeded to put more gel on my stomach after because she changed her mind and decided she didn't get the scans that she wanted. This happened several times and I kept wondering why she didn't just leave the gel on until she was completely done. The final straw that ruined my entire day was the fact that I told her I wanted her to check the gender of the baby and to place it secretly in an envelope since I had planned a gender reveal party for 3 days later. She agreed and determining the gender did not seem to be an issue and she told me she was 80% sure which I was happy with. However, after asking me to clean myself up another time, she changes her mind yet again and decides she wanted to double check the gender again and then proceeds to tell me she is no longer sure of the gender and refuses to write it down for me. I was gobsmacked because she had just told me 5 minutes ago she was quite sure of the gender and now because she wanted to double check again.she's no longer sure and told me "I refuse to write anything down". I had no choice but to cancel my party which i have been looking forward to since I found out I was pregnant and even to this day at 29 weeks I still do not know the gender of my child since I no longer have anymore ultrasounds scheduled. The fact that this tech made me uncomfortable due to the outward expression of her frustration and multiple rescans/cleanups made me feel she was very inexperienced and led me to question her ability to do the all important 19 week anatomy scan.
All the staff were very friendly and treated me comfortably during the exam. I was very apprehensive about not being fluent in English, but everyone was very friendly and helped me whenever I needed it.
Got to the clinic for my daughters appointment and the lady at the desk told me I am not allowed to bring in my other child to the clinic. “It is their policy” I asked her what do I do if I have another child and I can’t leave alone at home. She informed me to get someone to watch her. Very ridiculous policy, what if I have no one to watch my daughter? I offered to sit with my child in the car since they have a policy she told me you need to be inside with the one who is doing the x ray. Like what do you want mothers to do people? She told me then this time it is okay but for next time you have to find someone to watch your other child. Thank you Canada diagnostics for putting policies that doesn’t make sense for families with more than one child.
Writing on behalf of my mom who had an x-ray appointment today at 2: 15pm. After having to confirm her appointment multiple time, she showed up at 2: 00 pm and waited over 40 minutes; after watching at least 20 people go in for their injection appointments, she ended up having to walk out as she had another appointment at 3: 00 pm. Not x-ray appointment friendly apparently.
I had two mammogram exam in this location. I am aware that this exam is painful, but I have high hopes as I have high pain tolerance. First one I had was three years ago, I had trauma from the pain, I was screaming during the exam. So I am anxious when I received the letter that I am due for another exam. I had it today, and the RT is Ms. Connie, she is wonderful! Nice enough to check on me if I am okay, and it helps a lot, even though its painful, her being friendly gives comfort. Thank you Ms. Connie! God Bless!
I arrived at 850 for my 9am ultrasound appointment and I had an xray appointment for 940. My ultrasound was done at 920 sat down to wait in excess of an hour and 20 min for my 3 min xray. It's a little ridiculous that this corporation can not keep its appointment times. I arrived on time and I was still kept to wait when I could of been out in 30 minutes.
My friend was told by the clinic to bring a relative to accompany her for her procedure, so I went with her. But I was told to wait “outside”, it’s -7 and snowing.
Had a barium swallow GI series done today and the staff was lovely. I have had many tests done because of Crohn’s disease and the radiologist today was kind and clear in his instructions. He was very gentle moving me about the table and took time to explain things to me. The facility is clean and well maintained.
They called me 1hr before my appointment and cancelled after sending me 3 text messages the day prior to confirm appointment. They claimed that the tech called in sick but find it hard to beleive that an operation that size is dependant on one unreliable tech. I had the appointment booked for two weeks and had to fast prior. Not Great.
Showed up promptly at 9: 20 am for a 9: 20 appointment and they insisted I was late (due to the time it takes to fill out COVID screening paperwork). Paperwork was done by 9: 25 (exactly) and they refused to see my son at the scheduled time, insisting instead he could take a 9: 45 appointment.
Waited in the waiting area for the additional 25 minutes, plus 5 more because they were 5 minutes late for the newly scheduled 9: 45 appointment and did not call him back until 9: 50.
Reception was completely unaccommodating and inflexible, despite our arriving at our scheduled appointment time, and then the five minutes grace they refused to grant at 9: 20 ended up being the same five minutes that they were late for the rescheduled appointment.
Frustrating customer experience, total one way street on flexibility with zero grace given for the nominal time needed for their own administrative process. Do not recommend.
They ask you to come 15 minutes before your appointment for their convenience. My appointment was at 2.40, I went there at 2.25pm. They did not call me till 3pm so I went and asked so they said they will call soon. Waited 40 minutes for my appointment. I do not even know why they book appointment. It feel like out time has no value. Do not bother go on your time of your appointment and they will call you.
I went for ultrasound and the technician took the photos as she should. Then when she showed the images to the doctor, she informed me that the doctor would like me to do a mammogram. Having done that less than a year ago, I asked to see the doctor before proceeding with it. When he came to the room, I asked him what has changed since the last one dramatically that he’d like a mamo done. After a few minutes of him giving me info kn my history which didn’t sound right, he didn’t know left or right part and kept referring things has changed since then and ultrasound doesn’t give the whole picture. (but his recommendation was based of the ultrasound and I was simply asking what has changed since my previous ultrasound and mammogram that he wants another mammogram). I guess then he realized that he has not even read the previous mammogram and the diagnosis on it. He then started questioning why I’m investigating the matter again when I had a requisition from my family physician for check-ups. Reading one’s history and baseline is the least a doctor should do because this is a part of their decision making process. If he simply is too lazy/ arrogant to read a document and/or listen to a patient then he better not do it at all because at the end of the day it’s people’s health he is dealing with.
X-ray services were ok, however I experienced a display of what I considered a shocking display of preferential treatment at the front desk. Walked in with a kid that needed an urgent X-ray and they told me walk-ins are no longer allowed since Covid. She wouldn’t even listen and try to allow us wait even outside in case a no show happened so as to fit us in. They made me book for slot 2 days in the future. On the day of my appointment, I saw a fellow come as a walk-in, around about 12: 20 pm and I was shocked as I watched how the receptionist looked for how to fit him in. She gave him i think I heard a 1: 30pm slot same day. I watched this all, while sitting so close to the front desk. By the way, I am a visible minority and the other fellow was not. Treat everyone fairly, that’s not so much to ask is it?
I call the main number and follow all of the push this # for that service. End up on a dead line 4 times in a row and wasted 30 minutes. I don't mind waiting if it doesn't drop my call.
Can't speak to a person to book an appointment. Very frustrating and a waste of my time.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend this Symons Valley clinic. My wife had a nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound evaluation (i.e. The ultrasound pregnancy screening for Downs Syndrome – Trisomy 21,18,13). The technician who conducted the evaluation was probably very inexperienced. During the evaluation she had to repeatedly redo measurements and run out of the exam room to “check stuff” after apologizing. So the examination conducted was already not confidence inducing in terms of accuracy. Important to keep in mind that to this day, we are unsure if this technician even did the measurements properly.
At the time, my wife and I had the attitude that, “it should be fine even if the technician is not that experienced, a licensed doctor still needs to sign off on the report”. So then our family doctor receives the report, and within the “impression” paragraph their clinic report states:
“The nuchal translucency assessment is reassuring, significantly reducing the risk of Trisomy 21 and other Trisomies as detail in the body of the report. As the patient’s adjusted risk for Trisomy 21 is greater than 1/300, this is considered a POSITIVE screening result. A referral to Maternal Fetal Medicine is warranted. ” Within the same paragraph, they contradicted themselves between the 1st and 2nd sentences. Also in their findings: They said that the "nuchal translucency measurement of 3.5 mm is within normal limits. " 3.5 mm is not within normal limits. My wife received a call from the genetic specialist (afterwards) as referred by the doctor. A measurement of 3.5 mm indicates that there is a 6% risk of down syndrome which is much higher than the general population risk of 0.3%. Because of this measurement, there is increased risk for Trisomy 21, Trisomy 18, and Trisomy 13 and it was recommended to check the baby for heart defects.
The numerical measurement contradicted the explanations which made the process much more confusing than it needed to be especially as this is such a sensitive topic. Our family doctor was so confused he had to call the clinic to get confirmation from them. So even a trained medical professional couldn’t interpreted their report. My wife and I decided to get referrals for further testing from our family doctor just to get a firm confirmation on the matter (at another diagnostic clinic that is not under the Canada Diagnostic Centres franchise). I personally have been to other Canada Diagnostic Centres and my experience has been positive and professional, but our experience with this Symons Valley location was really not good.
We get it, NT screening typically only has an accuracy rate of 70 to 75% when used as a standalone risk assessment. However, the summary of the story is that the clinic has either inexperienced or incompetent technicians completing measurements for pretty crucial pregnancy examination. The biggest complaint is that the clinic’s license doctor was comfortable with signing off and releasing such an ambiguous report. Keep in mind that NT screening can only be conducted in a very specific window during the pregnancy. So my wife and I were further delayed by at least a month in time because we need all these extra testing just to confirm (in the end our baby was found to be good and fully healthy thankfully).
So I would ask, if that is this clinic’s standard of practice why should patients even go there for assessments? Their service is supposed to provide patients with accurate information. When the accuracy of the clinic’s results are called into question, then the service provide is essentially ineffective and pointless.
Great People! I went in twice last month to get knee injections and everyone was so caring and helpful. They had a great system going for COVID compliance and were careful to explain all the details of my procedures. Thanks for making what I anticipated as being super scary into a positive experience!
I had a very bad twisted ankle and could not move around. The lady at the front was rude and didn’t let me girlfriend come in to help and I told them I can’t move much. And they said we will have a wheelchair ready I get back in and they make me hop all the way to the end. I have extreme lower back pain and because of them now my back and neck are flared up. Prefer Mayfair of these guys every time!
Absolute terrible experience. Been back here twice for an ultrasound, the tech wouldn't even try to get the gender a few more times because it was a few minutes over our hour session. May as well book your appointment 3 weeks later than they recommend cause clearly it was to early for both appointments. WASTE OF TIME
I have had wonderful experiences at this clinic! It is clean, professional and the ultra sound techs and doctors that I have dealt with have been efficient and kind.
Had a appointment for 3: 00 pm. Watched 7 people that cam in after us get in before us. Went to the front desk and I was told I would be in right away. Watched 6 more people that came in after us go in. Got fed up after a hour and went home. Worst service ever!
Terrible arrangement when you get an ultrasound first by appointment then you waited forever for the xray? They put you as a walk in? Come on, realistically you have been fasting for over 10 hours and wait as people walk in first come first serve basis? A better solution is to put the patient with the ultrasound appointment priority over the walk in xrays. Hope to see changes!
I won’t recommend this Laboratory where I had two bad experiences. My first experience was for a potential phlebetis: they didn’t see anything wrong. My doctor sent me to hospital where it was diagnosed. I went there again this week, (thought I should gave another chance). I saw the best and the worst. The breast ultrasound was done so roughly, repeatedly and hardly targeting the sames spots, that I had to ask to stop. I think the tech was not well trained and don’t know the right technic. At contrario, the tyroid ultrasound and the screening mammography made by someone else were greatly done. Eliane Collin
