DO NOT work for them Period.
You're expected to do long hours (8AM until 9: 30/10: 00 PM)
1) You are not allowed to use the bathroom while you're doing door to door sales. (not supposed to ask customers either of you can use theirs)
2) You aren't supposed to take breaks for even 5 minutes to have lunch or drink of water and can't without a manager driving by to tell you to get back to work.
3) You're expected to sell to 200+ houses and are èxpected to go to every house twice/3 times a day to resell push people coming home from work.
4) You are to come in even if you're sick from being out in the pouring rain doing lawn areation the day previously.
5) You are to "deal with it" when you have heatstroke or are dehydrated
6) You are Required to push and push and PUSH the sale until they say yes.
7) You are Required to over charge to begin with then "discount" slightly the price
8) It's all based on commission. You sell, you get paid. If you don't have a sale you don't get paid. So the "cash every day" is based on if you actually sell. (No minium pay whatsoever)
9) If you are working with a partner, the end of the day, you're splitting the pay with partner and whoever sold more gets the bigger chunk.
10) The company keeps the lions share of what you make and give a small portion to you.
11) You don't actually get money if you're doing the work for someone else's sale that was made previously (usually recurring regular customers who continue sevices)
12) Canadian Property Stars do not take care of their employees, do not care at all about their employees, scam both customers with high prices and underpay their employees.

I had a similar experience as others. Our windows were not clean after completion, and when payment was due, the staff member argued about payment other than cash. They indicated first that an e-transfer results in fees, but would accept credit, asking to record my card number, which I refused. I noticed e-transfer was listed as method of payment on the form provided, and they insisted it wasn't accepted. I said it was the only form of payment I would be comfortable with. They then said there was an issue with receipt of e-transfers, and I agreed to show confirmation. Auto-deposit had actually been set up. All just a bit too strange for me.

We all have to deal with canvassing and soliciting from time to time. But to show up on my doorstep, ringing the doorbell at 9: 30 on A SUNDAY MORNING is just absolutely rude and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Don’t waste your time and money. Made deal with the guy and he didn’t do what he said he would do.
I would t trust a guy pushing a cart during work hours.

We had our lawn aerated today by Eric. He did a great job! Will definitely use property stars again!

Such a joke. Paid them good $$$ to wash my windows… a kid with a hose could have done a better job. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I had Clay aerate my lawn in Calgary, and he was very informative and very kind. He did a good job for sure and I'm happy with the results.

Speaking of working for this company, it’s not a very good idea, and there are several reasons why. They have some friendly and pleasant people among their staff (except for one nasty guy), but this impression may be deceiving. The worst part begins when you start the job. The first thing is that the shift lasts for 12 hours. And it’s not some easy job. You drag a 100-kilogram aerator along the streets and do steep lawns from which this thing often falls. You have nowhere to eat, you must use your clients’ bathroom (if you find clients of course) and need lots of water that you cannot take with you. But the most annoying thing is the pay. They give you only 30% of what you make. They basically do nothing except for taking you to the neighbourhood you need to work in and lending you a machine for money. It’s not 50%, not 70% which you really deserve for such a hard work. It’s only miserable 30%. And they don’t even have a base pay. Recently they’ve created a training programme where they pay you guaranteed 120$ a day for your first two weeks if you make less than 120$ a day. But first, it’s lower than the minimum 15$ set by government (you get 10$ and hour). And second, it’s only for the first two weeks. Afterwards if the people in your neighbourhood are reluctant to have their lawn aerated, you may have even less than a 100$ a day. They exploit inexperienced students or immigrants, and that’s how they make money. Their managers, whose only responsibility is to give you a lift and to pour some gas in your aerator from time to time, make much more than you do. So if it’s not the last job you can get on this Earth, don’t work for them.

Hello, we never booked this company and they just showed up one day this spring and did our lawn spring maintenance. We said we never approved it but they did it anyways. We asked for the work order and they never provided it to us. I felt bad for the worker and paid them with our credit card. We received (im not exaggerating) 15 emails in the last week saying our lawn service is on an annual review (so they put our credit card on file) and they will be coming in the Spring. I have called 6 times, left messages, sent 3 emails and NO ONE is returning my call. I will be calling my credit card company to ensure they are blocked from using my card. DO NOT deal with them. They are fraudulent.

Worst company to work for. They lie and treat you like garbage. You have to rely on strangers if you run out of water or need to use the bathroom. They rely on hiring teenagers because they don't know better. The CEO is a deceitful hack. Don't work for this pyramid scheme.

Absolutely horrible! Started off in January when they called my husband and asked if we wanted our yard done again in the spring. My husband didn't know that's not who we used so booked them. He called the number back and left a message to cancel once he realized that we support local. Fast forward to the spring and he gets an email saying they would be doing our lawn and charged the credit card. We called head office and they assured us it was canceled and we would get a refund within 3 weeks. I called week 4 as still no refund. They told me there was an error and it would be one more week. (we did receive in the end) Last week I was out for a walk and came home to 2 guys sitting in my front yard from property stars. They never even rang the doorbell just helped themselves to the chairs. (have a camera) when I questioned what they were doing they said waiting to do our lawn. I told them the service was canceled with head office but one of the guys wouldn't back down and said his supervisor told him to do it so they were going too. Thankfully my neighbor came out and told them to leave otherwise not sure they would have listened to me. I called the Calgary office and the woman apologized but never asked for my info so how can she follow up?

The gentleman walking the door to door rounds in the SW Evergreen was so friendly. Even though we are not able to use the services today, we have the information for next time!

The person who did the service for my mom, was legit the most upbeat and professional teenager I have ever seen! Made me want to join the company, to find out what they are doing for training over there.
They also did a crazy efficient job! Hard worker!
Overall impressive! My mom is looking forward to having them back! They weren’t the cheapest but I totally understand why.

I’ve worked at Canadian Property Stars for over a decade, and I must admit that working in such a fiercely competitive business poses many challenges, but it’s super rewarding if you can put in a great effort and possess a positive attitude!

We provide quality lawn care and window washing services, and a great work opportunity for people who want to maximize their income potential!

They aerated our lawn over the summer. It was well done and reasonably priced. Recently, they spammed me with a sale about Black Friday, emailing every day for two weeks (so far). I contacted them to let them know that this was too many emails and that I felt harassed. I did not receive an apology and I was told that it was an automated campaign. I was told to simply delete further emails. The emails completely lacked customer service. We will not be using their services again.

Sebastian W.came to our door offering to clean our outside windows. He was extremely polite and professional. We took him up on the offer and he did an excellent job. We particularly appreciated his work ethic and attention to detail. Thanks Sebastian!

While I have noted the many poor/less than average reviews for this business, Manyiel washed my house and windows on Aug 1/21. He was very task-oriented and did an excellent job. His supervisor, Shaun, stopped by twice during the service call to assist and support Manyiel and both of these gentlemen were courteous and professional. I felt I received value for money expended. However, I would like to suggest the owner of Canadian Property Stars invest some serious capital into the equipment they use and supply to/for their employees - pushcarts and de-ionization tanks held together with reams of duct tape does NOT present professionally to or align with a quality service for current and/or potential clients.

Ali from CPStars raked, fertilized and over-seeded my lawn earlier today. Thank you! He did an excellent job. I do wish the owner was more forthright with his communication. Had I not been in my home office, no one would have been here to show him what needed to be done.

If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. Called and emailed us in March to say they were starting aeration in the next couple of weeks then crickets, no follow-up no emails, no communication period. I've left several messages and emails. No response. Do not waste your time with this company! Just awful customer service.

On Saturday, May 15 this company came to my door offering to aerate and fertilize my lawn. I took them up on the offer.

The job that was done left my yard a mess. I know that after aeration the yard may not look good for a day or two, however this is far beyond that. I took photos of where the aerator chewed up my grass and 'dug' large holes in my lawn.
The aeration in the front was uneven and the back tore up large parts of my yard.
When the workers brought the aerator back to do the backyard, they went through my garden area and ran over my plants, crushing them.
I complained to the workers who did the work and to the 'supervisor', saying I was not happy. They responded by saying they did not have the equipment (a mower or trimmer) to even out the yard, and when I pointed out the chewed up lawn in the back, they responded with, "don't worry about that".
Well, I am not a novice home owner and I am "worried" about replacing the chunks of grass and reseeding my yard at an extra cost on top the amount I paid.
I am not happy with the work done. It has made extra work for me. I have emailed the company twice now asking for a refund but have not had a response.
The work made a mess of my front and back yard.
I would go out of my way to stop people from using this company, they will damage your yard.

They steal electricity. This company's employees knocked on my door trying to sell me lawn service because they were working on a yard down the street. I chose not to answer my door. 20 minutes later my neighbour calls me and tells me the 2 people were sitting on my front steps for 5-10 minutes and had plugged their phones into my outlet and had left their cord in my outlet. I step outside to see that the phone is still there charging. This man then comes running back to my home and comes aggressively close to me without a mask wanting his phone and tries to apologize. I asked why he thought it was ok to steal my electricity. "Because I thought I could get away with it". If this is an indicator of the quality of people they employ, I would be careful engaging this company.

They were supposed to aerate my lawn.only did the front.called them to inform them so they said they would come back.been weeks no follow up visit

Ryi and Lynny were a pleasure to deal with. Very polite and professional, and went the extra mile to do a great job. Ryi asked to walk around the house with me afterwards to make sure I was happy and I pointed out a few windows that weren't quite clean enough for my standards and made sure they went back over everything just in case. He and Lynny made sure before they left that I was happy with the finished product, which I was. I would recommend Ryi and Lynny to my friends and family for their homes.

Two polite young guys showed up at our door and said they will clean all our windows for $100 which I said go ahead. I was under the impression that they will use a squeegee and a little bit of water. But they connected their extendable brushes with hose attachments to my garden hose and started basically washing the windows with a lot of water. I had to stop them after washing 3 or 4 windows because my french door window was starting to get fog inside the window plus I was worried that water could get into my basement. I basically don't like their methodology which is like taking a hose to your windows and washing them. If you have the slightest break in the window seal, water will get in and cause damage. I gave them $20 and they went on their way.

. Save yourself the headache, and the money, these guys are straight trash. Get a real window company in there to clean your widows. Total waste

We hired Yosief to wash our windows. I was not going to after reading some reviews about the quality of work, etc. However, he came back to the door and spoke to my husband. He said that he would not leave until we were satisfied with his work. And he was true to his word. We were washing the inside windows as Yosief washed the outside ones. We gave the thumbs up once we were happy with the window. It really was a teamwork effort and that is why we were pleased with the results.

Yosief was a delightful and friendly young man. He even did a couple of extra washings for us.the garage door, front door and our screens. He was adament on cleaning up after the job was completed and was completely repectful and professional.

I have awarded 5 stars because of Yosief. However, my concerns with the company are: If the window washing had occurred without us being there the entire time, I do not believe that it would have been a quality job. I have concerns about the equipment because it was very tricky to wash the high up windows. It is door-to-door sales, but Yosief seemed okay with that aspect of the business.

If Yosief knocks on your door and you need your windows washed, please do not hesitate to hire him.

As a client they are really good but as EMPLOYERS, not so much. I worked for this company 1 day and they sent my team done some of the worst streets because of university students and college students living on that street. Then I got told I can pick up my pay check on Sunday and only after 9 pm. I am sorry we are from out of town and we are not in that late at night. I tried getting my pay check during Stampede because I was in the city during that time and it was easier but I had lost their business card and didn't have my contractor number on me. I finally decided to email their head office to see if I am eligible to get my paycheck or did I miss out. I would not recommend working for them, it is walking the streets and cold calling-all commission based pay. When pay checks are being handed out, they should have someone available at the office to pick up during the day.

May 19th, they were in the neighbourhood so my husband had them do aeration on our property. The girl who was doing it was struggling so badly and did a terrible job. Including damaging my newly installed downspout. I thought my gate was going to come through the side of my house with her banging the gate into the house to get the machine out. I have a damaged downspout and a hole in my stucco from the gate. Talked to the supervisor and he noted the downspout on the receipt but have not heard back on the repairs or refund at all. Brutal!

The driver dropped off teens to wash the windows next door. The crew bickered loudly, play fought on the lawn and goofed around the entire time. Twice I told them to be a bit quieter. It's irresponsible, unprofessional crews like this that ruin reputation of this company for me. I would never hire them for fear of them assigning this crew.

Not a great job done.sold me on the fact that I needed de-thatching and then the spots they said were a concern were not even done I had to rake them myself. The aeration was only done in select sports not around my tree and a whole section of my front yard was missed. Also the seeding was very skimpy not much done at all.for $289 I was expecting much much more!

Thanks to Michael Matthews and Bryanna for an excellent job on our older white bungalow exterior and windows. Friendly, professional and thorough. They rocked it, and everything looks better and clearer as result.

Poor customer service had to correct the information they had on me twice.
Then the representative they sent to my house started asking my girlfriend inappropriate questions when I wasn't home. So I'm done with this company!

. I Won't Recommend this company because of the way they take advantage of employees. Put them in a area with heavy machinery in the spring to do lawns to go door to door, then the switch to washing windows. They are out there for 12 hours most days without a hourly wage. Then if they are lucky enough to get a sale the company takes part of the sale us the supplies used from the employee. They hire summer students a d full take advantage of them,

We had Scott’s crew cold call us today in Calgary. We were already considering getting someone to clean out windows so the timing was perfect. They did a great job cleaning all of our windows and screens. There were a couple missed windows but they were happy to come back at the end of their day to make sure they were completed. We were definitely satisfied with the services!

I used them for 3 times for aeration and I constantly have issues with payment. They expect a person to stay home, cash in hand and pay the individual doing the job. If you aren't home they expect you to use some archaic payment method. One of them I calling customer service and giving them your credit card information. I tried calling multiple times, left a message and no one has called back. This is the only business I've dealt with that has no way to pay electronically.

I can't comment on the service because I never got a chance to use it. And based on the way the person who came to my door to ask if I wanted my windows done, I probably never will. He told me he was in the area and doing some stuff for my neighbors and that he would be able to do a deal because he's already in the area today. I explained to him that we literally just moved into the house 2 days ago and still unpacking. He replied "then you haven't done your windows yet. " I said my husband wasn't home and I'd need to discuss it with him. He swiftly turned around and started to walk away. As he did I asked if he had a business card so that we could contact them in the future and he turned to me and said "we do 27 millon dollars a year, we don't need business cards "and walked away. Not the best first impression for your company.

Terrible. It looks like they just ran with the power take and didn't pick anything up. There is almost as much thatch in my back yard as there was to start with. For what they charge, I would expect much better work.
They also miss placed my green cart, after complaining to my neighbor about this company she mentioned that she had an extra green cart that she didn't know where it had come from.
Don't waste your money with these guys.

They didn't ask permission to come in my yard or didn't get authorisation to aerate my lawn and now they are saying I have not paid my bill. Stay away from Canadian Property Stars.
