I was so happy to find wood charcoal for smoking my food. Seem's it's 'out of season' everywhere else. This is Canada, we bbq all year!

Favorite place for nicks, knacks, bits, and bobs. They usually have the basic stuff needed around the house or garage but I've had more than one experience of looking for an item that they say is in stock but is not on the shelf. Employees are always helpful. Sometimes they are new and don't know where things are but in my experience they will take the time to find stuff.

Looked at purchasing a used vehicle and had the Automotive department do a through pre-purchase inspection and the things discovered was unbelievable. James honest explanation and guidance saved me making the wrong decision. Thank you James and to all the staff who helped. You have my future business!

Danny and Linda are the worst managers i have ever witnessed. Customer retention is not a concern of theirs at all and they are advocates for false advertising.

Lots of bargains but it always seems the item I go to buy has been sold out.has happened more than once. Looked for tools, only had 2 kinds of routers, very poor selection.

So big and clearly not enough staff to manage it. Carts of wares in the aisle, if you see a staff member, some of them avoid eye contact and scurry up another aisle, (not all of them), some are very helpfull. Staff shortages have created a box store with everything behind locked cages that make it impossible to find anything. I am being honest here. I will not make CT my goto any longer.
The last 3 times I was in there I didn't find what I went in for. I did however get my steps for the day.

We went in to buy a quad battery. Oriental person at parts desk said we where out. I showed him it said 8 was in stock. He says oh well its wrong. Went to customer service. The girl called down there talked to someone else and what do you know the battery i wanted was on the shelf.

So, I guess if you carry a giant handbag in, it’s cool, but as soon as you walk in with a bag with TWO straps that’s worn on your back, they confiscate it and treat you like a criminal (then when you call them on it, they get all syrupy and apologetic… “We have to follow the rules myyy deeeeear”)

Seriously. You’re Canadian Tire. Bikers and campers make up a huge chunk of your clientele. Bags are no longer provided. So, you’re going to discriminate which reusable bags people can carry based on the number of straps? How does that make any sense?

Canadian tire is great with the tool loan program. It's always nice when you don't have the tool you need but can borrow it from the parts department at no coast all you do is pay the price of the tool when you bring it back you receive that money back.

Placed an online order for two items an hour ago, and was just sent an email that one of the items is canceled and the other isn't. My visa gift card was charged before stock was confirmed so now I have to wait 3-7 days to be able to use this card at a different store to buy what I am looking for. What a hassle for a simple transaction

Disappointing Service at Spruce Grove Canadian Tire

I recently took an older MDX to the Spruce Grove Canadian Tire for a vehicle insurance inspection. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The staff seemed irritable and unenthusiastic.

To my surprise, they informed me that my vehicle required thousands in repairs. The explanation they provided was short, leaving me uncertain about the exact nature of the problems. After contemplating, I decided not to proceed with the repairs that day. When I went to pay for the inspection, the staff member merely printed off what I later found to be an incomplete report/summary and sent me on my way with little to no further communication.

Later, I had some of the work done by a different mechanic, but still needed the main issue addressed. I decided to visit another Canadian Tire, closer to my home. Here, I found the staff to be amiable, thorough, and they even took the time to explain what was missed at the Spruce Grove location.

Sadly, this experience at Spruce Grove tainted my view of the company. Even though I had a better experience at a different Canadian Tire, I chose to have the remaining repairs done at a separate auto repair shop due to the loss of trust. While I may recommend other Canadian Tire locations, I believe the Spruce Grove branch needs improvement. They have earned this two-star rating.

I’ve had mixed experiences but today in particular was frustrating. My husband and I returned a wedding gift for our wedding a little over a year ago. Today we went to use the return card and were told it was expired. The card did state this on the back in small print. However, we were not told this when we made the return. The card appeared to be like a gift card. This does not sit right with me and the amount was significant. The cashier was empathetic and said we could go to customer service and chat with a manager. The lady at customer service showed zero care for our situation and would not even get a manager. She said there’s nothing she can do sorry. She said I could call the number on the card. I did and the robot on the phone did not recognize the card number. Customer service was closed.
I understand it’s not on the employees that there is a crummy policy in place.
Ultimately I guess we should read the fine print on everything but we will have a hard time giving our business to a place with a policy like this in the future. It feels like they are banking on us forgetting to use the card so they can keep our gifted money. We left feeling really crummy.

EDIT: I did call customer service again in the week and the person helping me was extremely kind and we got it sorted out.
Honestly, if customer service in the store could show more empathy for a situation like this it would make a huge difference. Even if they can’t ultimately fix it.

Easy to find what I was looking for. It’s convenient to keep merchandise in the same place in the store. Was looking for rubber boots, and they were in the same place as last time. However, I wasn’t sure where the board games were, but I was quick to find an associate who knew exactly where they were. Prices are comparable.

Store was clean and organized. Not enough tills open. Always have what we need and the sales are great.

Meh, this one is okay at canadian tires go. Not the best but not the worst. Runs really good in store sales done by the owners independently that won't won't necessarily find in a flyer. Worth making a person go in once a week to check out

Staff go out of their way to ignore you and seem annoyed when you get their attention. It’s really too bad. Store is stocked well at least.

Store is well stocked and clean but very rude staff especially some old ones (younger ones are nice and helpful). Not sure why they feel so miserable to help out. A lady almost yelled at me. I love to shop here but steering away because of some rude staff. Looks like lot of other reviews also pointing to the same issue. I hope the owner appreciate the reviews and make changes.

I was very unhappy while trying to get help in the store in Spruce Grove and it didn’t help for me to be as polite as I could! Firstly an associate was pushing a red stock cart towards me & I said “excuse me” and she walked right by me. I thought ok maybe she didn’t hear me so I said it again so she stopped and I asked her about a flyer item “I don’t know because it’s not my department” & she grabbed her stock/price checker & gave me the price and carried on! Well, I already knew the price but was looking for the flyer item. Then I walked around for a while looking for an associate from that department & when I found one she also barely gave me the time of day as she was talking to another staff member about how unhappy everyone was and that “this place is so full of stress”! I got same treatment & given price but not an answer re flyer item and was told what isle to look in and sent me to look myself! So I took everything back to the shelves I got it from and left store! I’ll definitely drive to Edmonton from now on! If you hate your job - get another one.

Frustrating store to shop in. Too much product is in locked cages that you have to wait for customer service to come unlock. Doesn’t make customers feel welcome at all. Will start driving into west edmonton when I need something at Canadian tire.

The techs do not know what they are talking about say certain things are wrong to get more money out of there customers just be safe and do it yourself or take it to a dealer.
