Their water station is always broken, don't know the reason but honestly it is almost always out of service. Such an inconvenience to drive there in this weather only to be told its not working. I have been there twice this week.
Horriable customer service, their auto department staff yelled at me! Also, they always persuade me to get unnecessary services, e.g. I did my tire changeover but they "suggested" me to change my brake fluid, which is totally unnecessary. Their staff want you to get more service because they can get comission from it.
I like this store! BUT you can't walk around too much unless you want to get SHOCKED every millisecond. Yes I said shocked! Zapped, partially electrocuted, everytime I touch something I get zapped making it an unbearable experience to shop there for more than 5 mins! But other than that, great place!
I supposed to go in the other autoservice but the lady booked me said just only 54$ for everything to install my winter tires but when i went there for my appointment i paid almost 200$ for installed only tge tires. Not include the allignment And my appointment was 5pm, but it takes them forever they finished installed my tires around 9: 10pm but its not full service coz "they didn't did the allignment coz they said the other guy thats suppose to do it leaved already. But not our fault! So dissapointed.coz i was tryin my best i went there on time but the service not good.omg! Nov. 23,2023 5pm to 9: 10pm just to install my tires! In not full service! I was Waiting for long time and not complete! And i asked them why it takes long. "They said sorry for the delayed.almost done they do the you allignment now" but in the end they said sorry the one gonna do the allignment is not here anymore so no allignment. And i said "holy! U said they did allignment but now you said no! Whats goin on!
Waited for 30+ min in the returns line and then the associate didn’t seem to understand I was only returning the one item on my receipt. Will not be coming back to this location. Seems understaffed. Would recommend giving your patronage to *any* other Canadian Tire store in the city to avoid the lines at this one.
Always the first place I head to for small appliances due to the quality, variety and sale prices on small appliances - within the past 2 weeks I've replaced my blender and coffee maker at Great Prices! Why pay more at other store's?
Canadian Tire itself is fine, but stay away from the automotive department. They'll screw up a simple tire swap, blame you for the mistake, then try to charge you another $300 to fix it.
I have purchased a key fob.and this store Manager she told me that their is no possible to return or exchange the fob.the fob that they sold is defective.im.not happy about her response, not service oriented person.totally disappointed.
Edit: Rating changed to one star (October 2023). I bought two Buck folding knives here. When I got them home and opened them up, they were both dirty and used (see pics). A very bad experience and indicative of sloppy management in the sports department.
This is a great CT, and I've probably shopped at 30 stores across the country over the years.
I was never a fan of greeters, but the one at this location has come in handy a few times. It's a big store on two levels - if you don't know where to go, ask them.
When I look online, this store has stock when a lot of the other locations are out. Also, with the decline in service at the Mill Woods location (which is closer to where I live), this has become my favorite CT store.
I came into auto service at 630pm on Aug 2,2023. I had a slow leak in my rear driver's side tire. I expressed my concern explaining EXACTLY what I wanted done. Check to see if the tire could be repaired and do so. I was informed that it would take 1.5-2hrs to complete as there was someone else in front of me. No problem. I took my son for dinner and returned around 8pm.
The service advisor informed me that a small leak had been found and that the tire had to be replaced. I asked why when I walked by the bay doors they had the wrong tire off. (Rear passanger) he stated that that's the tire I had expressed had the slow leak. Wrong. I informed him again that the tire I wanted looked at was the rear driver's, and that no one had asked him to look at any other tire other than the rear driver's.
He informed me that although my tires are still under warranty (purchased 2 years ago) it was still going to cost me money to replace the rear passenger tire as it can't be fixed.
I informed him that I refused to pay for any unauthorized work that he has done. As he was never requested to look at that tire and he still hadn't addressed the actual reason I was there. At this point he informed me that he would removed the cost of installation from the initial bill but I still have to pay the outstanding balance of the new tire. As there was a warranty cost differential. Until I paid for the new replacement tire I was without a tire.
Needless to say I was forced to buy something I didn't need, he refused to admit that the 'Communicstion error' was on his end. I finally left at 9: 50pm almost 3.5 hours after arriving just to have a slow leak repaired (that was covered under warranty)
This particular store seemed to be incredibly shady and refused to address the fact that they had don't unauthorized work forcing me to spend money I don't have on something that was never an issue. Incredibly shady, he deserves to be fired and is part of the stigma toward corrupt mechanics shops.
Store is massive! Surprisingly, the store is clean and the shelves are stocked. Store looked busy but waited all of 10 seconds to be helped by a cashier. One of the best locations in Edmonton.
I will never set foot in this store again, I am disabled, there were no shopping carts available to get the items I needed NO help from in store staff, to find what I needed When the girl rang up my items, I guess she forgot to de activate the sensor, on my extension cord, of course the buzzer went off, then I was accosted by 2 security guards, for items I already paid for Cutting up my Canadian Tire mastercard, and canceling my Canadian Tire roadside assistance, I will not stand to be treated like that
The girl who helped me was nice, but unfortunately I got passed over to a new guy who then led us around the store to the front where he dropped off the stuff we needed and disappeared without communicating to anyone at the desk where we waited 30 minutes for them to hand us a Car audio deck we already paid for.we tried showing them the receipt as well.
Probably one of the preeminent Canadian tires in the city. Sadly I'm not a fan of great crowds, and this store suffers from crowds. The staff seems to be overwhelmed by the number of people other than that it's a Canadian Tire and it's done well.
Canadian Tire Millwoods Town Center isnt as massive as the south common store but still had the Halloween decorations we were looking for. Sometimes difficult to locate staff, when you can snag one they usually know where to send you.
Sure, they have an accessible entry, but not if there's no handicap parking available. I was there today with my registered placard and there were no handicap spots open. Most of the vehicles parked in the handicap spots had no visible placard. The sidewalk and parking lot were slippery. I went for sidewalk salt for my own place and I got it, but not without slipping and fighting through snow for it. Won't be back to this location because despite the accessibility statement, it was one of the least accessible Canadian Tires I've experienced.
December 2021 Lots of Christmas goodies assortment, the garden section looks neglected, most plants are half dead or needing watering, definitely needs improvement in this department
The staff in auto service are completely useless and unwilling to help. They are uneducated and have no idea what constitutes a "business day". They do not know their own policy on how to process a return. I returned tires and did not get a refund for two weeks. I called almost every day to have this issue investigated and was told each time that it is being looked into or that the manager is "busy". I never received any callbacks from any managers (Trevor or Patel) after asking multiple times. It turns out that the person that took the tires from me did not even properly process the refund. What a waste of my time. I suggest going literally anywhere else.
Had Everything We Were Looking For Except Large Clear Garbage Bags That The City Now Expects You To Put Your Leaves In Before They Take Your Garbage Away. Unfortunately Canadian Tire Was Sold Out. They Did Have The No Name Brand That Said It Was Large Clear Bags. GOT It Home And They Were White Bags With A Bit Of Areas That Are See Through. Hopefully They Are OK For City Of Edmonton Refuse Collectors. I Recommend Canadian Tire To Everyone That Reads This And My Family And Friends
Terrible Customer Service, was made to feel bad because I couldn't afford to pay more into my car, after spending money on a new set of winter tires. Also wouldn't honour under 100 day warranty even though I was not explained to that my misalignment would would cause the brand new tires I purchased, with extra warranty, to bald so quickly. Tis the season to drain people of their money and make them feel bad they can't spend more I guess. Also was quoted over $750 before labour for a new brake package when I got my tires done, they didn't mention my suspension was just as pertinent to get done at that moment. Found a brake package online for half the price and did it myself. Wish I could do the same for my suspension, as I will not be giving this location or any other location my time, money, or sanity, anytime in the near future.
Largest Canadian Tire I’ve ever been to! I was really overwhelmed because there’s so much merchandise everywhere you look! There was a long line to check out, but they have it really organized so it’s not a big problem!
Found what I was looking for rather quickly, even purchased something that I didn't go in there for.
4* because of the return/exchange policy. I picked up something rather pricey (for me) and the reviews aren't the greatest, but I might be stuck with it regardless if it works out for me or not.
If you need headlights head to a different Canadian tire unless you want to take 30-60 mins to find a replacement because there all behind the automotive desk
This store is as big as Canada itself! With help of the friendly staff I was able to find the items I was needing at a great price. I can't wait till I need something again just for an excuse to visit this location again soon.
A bit behind the eight-ball at times in the auto department, but I'm willing to give them another chance. They still did a decent job (new suspension all around on my SUV). Manager didn't want to give me 50% off on front units (Munroe), but had to because I had a printed quote from them less than 30 days ago.
I came here for an oil change, and received some extra charges on my bill for "top up fluids". This was unsolicited and they told me it was for windshield washer fluid. The fluid level was indeed low, I had been planning to add it when I returned home. After getting charged, the level is still empty.
I am disappointed by the apparent dishonesty, even though it was just a few dollars. Otherwise, service was slow, but fine.
Very under staffed! Wait 20 min in line at a automotive to get a key cut so they can tell me to then go the 50 people line up at front of store to pay for it. Absolutely poor management and customer service
HOW DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR CURBSIDE PICKUP? No signs out front to be seen, nothing in the email. Waited in line for 30 mins at customer service and was told to drive around the store. It was beyond easy once I figured it out though.
We shopped at Canadian Tire South Common today, picked up 2 packages of bedding and a fan, all went well until checked out with the cashier operator #1144 on the receipt. The cashier didn't pack the items and we loosely pick them up falling off from hands, therefore I requested bags for easy carrying as it's no additional charge at CT, I got the 1st bag then said thank you, and have to pack myself, then felt that I need a 2nd one and asked, she's not pleasant and basically threw it at me. I caught surprised by her act of rudeness not helping but giving a bad gesture Canadian Tire is a big Canadian retailer yet doesn't reflect the good name of friendly Canadian from this incident, what a shame! I feel that the company should provide better trainings in customer service for the diverse Canadian cultures. I should shop at Walmart from now on if not for service equivalency but at least great overall values for consumers.
Excellent service! I came here to get my coolant system diagnosed and fixed because it was leaking really bad. They told me and showed me exactly where it was leaking. How much it would cost, plus how long it would take. They always kept me in the loop. They were very detailed and they spotted an issue with my rear coil spring, they showed me it was completely broken. I'm very thankful they pointed that out otherwise things would have gotten worse or I could have ended up in an accident. Fair prices, plus warranty! What more could you ask for! Thank you!
Very large with two floors. Sports/patio/bbqs/toys on top floor. Everything else on main level. Only reason for 4 stars is that it's very busy. Parking lot can be annoying to navigate.
Well i went to return an item that wasnt in proper working order and the customer service employee was sooo rude and treated me in a way i felt that i was there begging for a free meal. What a shame. And when i spoke to the manager she said " thats our policies ". Treating customers like that is " our policies "? Wow thats good to know
I waited in line for a return and was chased to the auto parts for further documentation after standing waing for 20 min I then waited another 15 min before the only parts person could help me then he walked me back to the returns desk and that took another 20 min Total time waiting 1hr 15 min How do these people find their way home at night I recieved a reply saying that i could talk to customer service The return desk had 6 people and a long line up The supervisor was the only person showing any decision making abilities The auto parts desk had ONE PERSON who was running his sneakers off to keep up with a line up of no less than seven When i asked if he had help he said no one else was able but did his job with a smile so kudos to him and razzberries to store management for leaving him in the wind now you know to leave lots of time if you choose to shop there and heaven forbid you have to return something
The new generation of cashiers are so impersonal and do not understand ethos of customer service. While cashing me out, the cashier was talking to next person in line, exchanging greeting and was not paying any attention to my transaction. I had had to remind him of my existence and correction on my transaction, TWICE.to which I was told that next person in line was known to him and his friend.they are looking around, checking their phones and talking to someone else, doing all this while doing a cash out transaction. Horrible indeed! Then in auto parts, there's always a LONG LINEUP as there is generally ONE person for all people and no one seems to care to get another parts advisor in there to reduce customer wait time. Seems like they do not care how long the customer waits.
Can't give them a Zero. Never come to this location. They completely destroyed our 2014 Dodge. They have incompetent children working on your expensive rides and they can't even do their job correctly. Took off our pressure cap to check the coolant? Then doesn't even put it back on before we leave. Will never be coming back here unless its to serve you papers. At least take responsibility for distroying our car. It was running fine before we came into your pitstop. Then you're THREE incompetent "techs" can't figure out how to tighten the pressure cap back on? You employ goldstars, good job.
Bought bicycle for my daughter from here. Noticed bubble on front tire the same day. Came back to the store and they said it's not covered and we need to pay for tire and labor. Waited for 2 weeks for bike but no luck. And their employee lost our receipt the day we came for inquiring about bike. Now we are here today on 22nd june for pickup as we got call for pickup and they said they can't give our bike back as we lost our receipt. It was long argument and never received apology for trouble. Worst customer service in Edmonton.
At 745am this morning March 26 2021, I went into the store after working all night to buy a single can of paint. After purchasing it, as I was leaving the female manager came running/yelling at me (infront of everyone) telling me I stole the can and I need to pay for it. Completely unprofessional, rude and just left me stunned. I hope she gets properly trained someday
While I haven't personally had bad experiences here.
I felt the need to share a story. There was a woman with a tiny backpack on which was her purse. Now I know a few women who use a backpack as a purse so it shouldn't be an issue. But security at the door wouldn't allow her in with it. They wouldn't listen to her explanation or that she didn't want to put her purse in a locker because she needed it to pay for any items she would purchase in the store.
I'm wondering why this behavior is acceptable from the store security in regards to what type of bag a woman chooses to have as a purse. (Obviously a suitcase or something else that large wouldn't be acceptable)
I realize there's a "security risk" but at least give the customer the time of day to explain why she wants to bring it inside
Terrible. Auto department quoted full price on sale priced tires that started today as, "not in the system yet". They could care less. Spend your car maintenance money elsewhere.
Always great selection but never friendly at the checkout only when you come in the front door is someone there to say hello with a smile and an offer to help find what you need.
Went in for tires. When I called they said if I came in soon they could get me in right away. I got there 30 minutes later and then they said it was a 2 1/2 hour wait! During which time i overheard someone else who had an appointment be told that they too had to wait 2 1/2 hrs. Additionally, the tires were going to be an extra $125 per tire for installation. Technically the install was only $50 per tire, and the rest was shop supplies. That's insane! So I said I just wanted the tires and I'd have them installed elsewhere. But before I purchased the tires I needed to see the actual weight rating on the tire itself, as it's for my 1ton truck and I do a lot of heavy hauling. The guy argued with me for 10 minutes how my tuck didn't need heavy tires. Then they said they didn't know where the tires were. So, I said I'd wait. 20 minutes later they finally found the tires, I purchased them, and left. If you find a good deal on tires there, be sure to get them installed somewhere else. Last place I went was Tirecraft and it was at grand total of $120 for all 4 tires swapped and balanced.
My car broke down on me and it was late so I had it towed to Canadian tire as I needed it looked at right away. They phoned me in the morning quoting me $1500 to fix all random and trivial things saying that it was needed to fix my car. Phoned my hometown mechanic (can’t see him as he is 3 hours away) and sent him the estimate. I explain to him what was happening with my car. He laughs while reading it and says they didn’t run any actual tests on my vehicle and nothing they said needed to be “fixed” would fix my car. He told me to find another shop, which I did after some phoning around and all the mechanics said the exact same thing to me and gave me actual advice on what could be happening with my car. I went to get it towed to another shop later that night and the gentleman at the counter was very rude to me. I asked to get my keys and pay for my inspection so the tow truck that was outside could take my car to another shop. He questions me as to why I don’t want them to fix it and I explain to him what I have had other mechanics tell me. Let’s finish it off with the audacity of it all, he has the nerve to tell me “WHAT DO YOU KNOW”. I’m not some dumb little girl who will be fooled into spending money on things that won’t get my car running. I got my keys and car hooked up to the tow truck, and I got the hell out of there. It took every ounce of energy I had not to lose it on the guy after he found it necessary to belittle me. Let’s just say I will not be going back to their automotive department for as long as I live.
I went in this store last friday to shop some stuff christmas decor, I saw two old lady staff, the one wearing eyeglass fighting infront of me and some customers too, i think it's filipino people, their voices so loud exchange conversation in their own language, pointing fingers with so very mad each other, so very rude and disgusting with no manners and respect to us as a customers. I don't know why they tolerate this kind of people, lacking in training in management.so very unrespectful.
Was having some issues with attaching my new windshield wiper, went in and got it fixed. Had to exchange it, because it was broken, but man the customer service was amazing! There were roughly 4 different people helping me out, they were all so nice and helpful. I’ll definitely be going back here!
Very big, lots to find, not much help when looking for stuff. Was looking for window plastic covering, too expensive. Lots of stuff on sale, good deal s.
Inventory that is supposedly up to the minute on the app was incorrect but I managed to snag the last one. Store was clean and organized and this store has thr best greeter!
Terrible customer service. Was at the north side location and they agreed to price match a LEGO set for the advertised price on Costco. They didn’t have have any in despite showing they had 4 on their website. Went to this location (south common) and after waiting for 20min they advised they would not match the price as the items were not the same. Staff couldn’t explain why the items were not the same but insisted they were different. The items were identical, both having the exact same model number, # of pieces, box and this was the same item the north side location said they would price match. Turns out Best Buy carries the same LEGO set. Went there. They not only matched Costco’s price they beat it. Stay away from this location the staff are not very bright.
Huge Canadian Tire, two floors. If you need to find something, look on the website for the aisle number. Faster than trying to find someone. They will price match at the customer service desk. Good deals on sale/clearance.
Went for an item listed on their website as being there, got there and none on the shelf. Helpful staffer said the wrong one may have been entered in the database. Sigh. This happens regularly with Can Tire. Good staff today tho
This locations auto department has the worst service I have ever encountered. My husband purchased some tires online and I went to pick them up. The employee brought them out and put them in front of me. I asked if he could help put them in my vehicle as they were 4 20" tires. That was done very begrudgingly. I had also asked about bags on the tires as I didn't want the inside of my truck marked up. Was told they weren't in bags and when asked if they could be put in bags was ignored. Before putting them in my truck I asked again if they could be put in bags so the inside of my truck would not be marked up. Was told no they are new tires so aren't dirty as they were thrown into my SUV. Got home and unloaded the tires and saw marks on my seats. Went back to speak to the manager about this and the poor customer service. Was told by the service manager that it is not the employees job to load my tires into my truck. Was also told that the employee said that I had never asked for the tires to be bagged and the service manager sided with his employee. This was the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced! I've been to the one at Windermere and have never come across this kind of treatment.
Canadian tire was crazy busy the day we went there. The new building has a ton of space and even though it was busy it didnt seem like it. We popped in and found more than we needed as usual. We headed to the check out lines and there was a line about thirty people deep. With more people approaching, we got in line and prepared for a long stay. Less than five minutes later we were at a till and paying for our purchases. Excellent service today.
The automotive team is composed of a mass of incompetents. Dropped my car off for a straight forward repair on Monday. Everyday I was told they would fix it within the evening and that they would call me. This continued for the entire week. On 4 separate occasions I was contacted about giving them permission to proceed with the repair only to receive the same call the next day. 6 days later I was told that they would fix it in the morning and that they would call me when it was finished. After 4 hours I got fed up and went to check on things, it was sitting finished in the parking lot. Would not recommend using their services.
I ordered a set of tires and rims online. Online shows this location had them in stock. Received an email the next morning and was informed that it would take 3 days for them to have it. I received an email confirmation 3 days later. I called them and asked if I can book an appointment to have them installed. The person on the phone said they don't take appointment and it's first come first serve. I was advised that it will cost $50 to swap out my tires as long as I have my other tires on rims. I went there and I was only person in line. The person behind the desk thinks I'm invisible and decided to have small talk with another person in the office. More than 5 minutes later, a third person noticed me and asked if I needed help. I told him that I ordered tires online and it's hoping that I could also get them installed. He said it would be a 3 to 4 hours wait and I was okay because I was prepare to wait. Instead of quoting me $50, he said it would be $110 because my new tires and rims are not mounted. I thought my new winter tires are already studded as the pictures online shows them studded. However, this wasn't the case, as it only states "studdable" as and studding the tires will cost another $150. When all is done at the end, the $110 is actually $130 and they charge an additional $30 for shop supplies which it's not included in my original quote. I would not go back to Canadian Tire to service my vehicle again and I would not recommend my friends and family. I thought I was saving money as I thought the online deal was quite attractive, but the installation and hidden service fees are quite expensive compare to other competitors. I would recommend going to Costco if you want to save some money on tires or Kal-Tire if you want to have a good experience.
It’s been twice they forgot to put our wheel lock into the car after oil change. This time they even forgot to put in the new cabin air filter. At least they found out about it. They told us to come back and will be done in 5 min but turns out to be over half an hour. I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming here for any type of automotive services. Very unprofessional.
Came in to get a 20$ part, which happened to be behind a glass case. Had to wait 15 minutes for help. Then the person took my part to the parts counter where I waited more than 15 minutes to pay for my part. And this isn't the first time! This person could have taken this piece to the regular tills, or just given me the part to take in line, so I could have been in my way faster.
I can understand not wanting people to tamper with the items, but other Canadian tire stores don't put this part behind glass. It's a 20$ part in a large difficult to open package! This makes no sense! I'm using Amazon next time.
Terrible. I asked for assistance and all I got was Aisle 41. Then as I was preparing to leave I was run into by a cart piled high with Styrofoam. The girl was apologetic but obviously did not understand the importance of being able to see people in front of the cart. I will not return to this location who do not seem to offer any customer service.
The washroom was disgusting, looks like they weren't don't in a while, also was asking for a fireplace that was on sale, the sale person gave us Toal different area, first time being in the big Canadian Tire on South common
It's Canadian Tire, what else can you say. Generally friendly but unknowledgeable staff, often good prices on sales, and good selection due to the size of the store. Specifically I only go here when sale prices are better than competition or when I need common automotive supplies like oil that are harder to find or more expensive at competitors.
Automotive did a good job when I purchased a new tires and a rim, installation was well done and I've had no issues to date with the car battery and tires I purchased there. Use it for what you need but beware of low stock on popular items, lines that can get long in busy periods even with a plethora of registers, and high prices on non sale items.
