I needed an obscure seasonal product related to canoes. Two young ladies were trying to help but I don’t think they were familiar with the product. Instead of just leaving it they turned it over to a middle aged guy (wish I would’ve got his name). He knew the product and he knew where it was way in the back. This product was extremely important to us so we could continue travelling with the canoe on the rack. We are ever so grateful. Canadian Tire in Canmore provides a lot to this community that wouldn’t have it otherwise. (Not my only positive experience at this Canadian tire.). Thanks people!

Visited the Canmore location to get a tire warranty done. Instead of standing by the warranty, they attempted to sell me TWO new tires and claimed that it was because the one I needed was out of stock. It felt like a scam that I obviously declined. They purposely made me wait over an hour at the counter while they weighed all their options, coming back with offer after offer, as if we were negotiating in a pawn shop.

Once they decided to warranty the tire, it took them 40 minutes to replace it, and then told me “never to bring my car back for service again. ” Total of nearly two hours to change a tire on warranty all from “Canada’s Garage. ”

I brought in my car for an oil change and an off rim tire replacement. I had 2 new tires, and stated multiple times that I wanted them on the front of the car as its front wheel drive. After waiting 2 hours, they called and said my new tires were too small for my rims. Completely my fault, but 2 hours for them to get to this? I purchase new tires and waited another 2.5 hours to see they put the new tires on the back wheels. I was frustrated but wanted to go home so paid without complaint and went to my car only to find the battery was dead. I went back in immediately to only be told I had a weak battery and I needed to buy a new one. I never once had problems with this battery so refused and instead asked for a boost, which they gave to only charge me another $10. When the car was on, I found that the interior lights had been all turned on, so that is what drained my battery over the 5 hours they had my car. Terrible service.

I've never had an issue till today. I dealt with 4 employees who were speaking in their native language while on the floor. It was 2 different languages neither English or French. The labor law is clear in Alberta regarding languages used in workplace unless it's a federal business English is be spoken. It's rude and not customer-focused. I asked a question and after these employees debated in their language I received we are not sure ask another associate. I'm bilingual (English/French) and switch between my languages when I'm speaking with people who may not understand. It's common sense, do better Canmore Canadian Tire seriously.

Bought a bicycle instore. First time using it, the tire was flat (hole in tube). Bought a new tube, but couldn’t fix it ourselves, so we brought it in for service. We were asked if we needed it right away (same day), but told them we can easily wait a couple days. Was told it would be “a couple days”……
Today, it’s almost two weeks (12days) later.
Today, I was told that the employee “didn’t come in”, and “we’re trying to find someone to come in & fix it”.
-I asked if they could refund us our purchase, but was told “no”. Asked if they could exchange it for another (same model), but told “no”.
-So to follow up, I asked when it will be fixed, but told “we don’t know”.

Recap: Bought broken bike. Bought new tube to fix the bike that was broken upon purchase.
*To be fair, transparent & truthful, it should be known that we didn’t have a chance to use the bike for several weeks after purchasing, so it wasn’t used right after the purchase and not initially discovered broken right away. We explained this when we brought it in for servicing, and was told that it’s “not a problem, and we’ll happily service it for you”.

Not fixed. No exchange. No refund. No solid answers? ! No time given for it being fixed? ! My wife is without her new bike to get to work (and back) during the busy summer peak.
UNACCEPTABLE. Utterly unacceptable.

Can't trust Canadian Tire service centre if you are in trouble. I just had a flat tire and they say we cannot help you. I said I was travelling with my family and they just kept saying only by booking and the whole service centre was empty. So are they taking ghost appointments? Please see photo attached.

I recently tried to return an unopened item and was told that it was a final sale and that the words final sale could be found in the fine print at the bottom of the receipt. When i purchased the product i was not told it was a final sale nor as you will see on other retailers invoice are the words final sale bolded at the top on the receipt. I have bought thousands of dollars of product from this store. I will not continue to patronize a store with such horrible customer service.

Good to have a Canadian Tire store in a small town like Canmore. It's not the largest location but they should carry what you need. The staff have always been friendly! The hidden underground parking is a bonus in the winter! Lots of stores located in the Canadian Tire plaza so its a central location!

Extremely disappointed in staff here we were stranded due to trailer wheel falling off, everything else closed. 2.5 hours away from home with kids in the truck and they were completely unwilling to help. They said they only do tires and oil changes on Saturdays. I was in tears and never felt so hopeless especially having already having stayed the night because of being stranded.

Service was avg but there’s not much to be said for department store service anyways.

There’s ample parking & a decent selection of outdoor hiking/activities gear to choose from.

Went in on Friday to the automotive department, was first served by an older dude with a moustache who desperately needs an attitude change - unwilling to help and being short/ lazy at every opportunity. Wasn't impressed at all. I was then helped by Zander, however, and he was absolutely brilliant - friendly and calm, super willing to give honest advice, and seemed very knowledgeable, so thanks Zander!

I agree with some earlier comments, this CT in Canmore is an outlier and not consistent with level of customer service at most Canadian tire locations across Canada. Beware, if you open a box and find a defective product. It will be considered “used” because the box is open, don’t expect to be able to return it. As a consumer it can leave you in a frustrating position, how can you determine a product is defective or doesn’t work for you, without opening it?

I would highly recommend going to home hardware instead. Have been going there for years, Great people, great service.

Beyond unimpressed. This is the worst Canadian Tire in the country. I am a lifelong fan of CT, but this shop has managed to convince me to be done with the whole organization.

An absolute failure of service delivery, I paid for a safety inspection and completed the prescribed repairs (some of which were a direct result of "guaranteed to fit" parts purchased at this location). As I was told, they are guaranteed to fit, but not to work. So, that ended up costing me over $300 in parts and labour for something that the company messed up, not me.

On top of that, I never received my safety inspection certificate, despite passing. I now have to drive another 150km return to come back to this joke of a shop to get the certificate.

Avoid this place like the plague. You better expect that I will be fighting for compensation and a refund.

I was a bit surprised to find a Canadian Tire here. It actually makes sense. You don't need to carry everything for your hiking trip. You can stock up your supply from here. It's a small store compared to other Canadian Tire in big cities. The store is well organized and clean. All associates are helpful and friendly.

Computer in store showed 5 of the items I wanted in isle 18 (only wanted to buy one). Nothing at all in isle 18 and it was a big item and easy to spot. Staff member looked in the same place I did, didn't even bother to look in the back or elsewhere for item. Disappointed that they didn't bother to actually search for the item or even try to. What a waste of my time!

I was on a road trip between Radium and cochrane when I got a flat. Dogs in the back, I pulled into Canadian Tire. The tire couldn’t be fixed and by the time my son could bring me my summer tires, the technician had gone home for the day. The very helpful Service Advisor Mark and the Service Manager went above and beyond and put the tires on for me themselves so that I wasn’t stranded over night. Thank you so much!

Had an appointment for 8am (first appointment) they didn’t bring the car in until 8: 45am then they were supposed to balance my tires, empty them and fill them with nitrogen. All they did was swap the tires. They are the worst. Terrible customer service I will not come back to this location. I do not recommend getting anything done here. They cannot be trusted and are super shady.

Showed up early in the morning for help with a flat tire. No surprise to break down in the mountains on the weekend except last nightwas not the night to breadown. The auto shop guys told me they were fully booked, that day but could put me on a cancel waitlist, good but not ideal as I explained to them. The shop called customers who didn't confirm their appointment and were due there that morning. Just my luck someone asked to sleep in!? This location has seen some urgent trips to the store to life and has not let me down. This shop has helped thr jeep before years ago, still the same mechanic there. Good things, good people

Tire techs know nothing and the mechanics don't know much more. Service advisors might well just be a pylon as they don't know what's up either. Wasted a day and a half of my life because of there stupidity. Will never be back worst place to go.

Me and my husband came through Canmore on a roadtrip last week, and had car troubles not far out of the townsite. They were able to get us into the service area (even at 3: 40 on a Friday!) and get the issue not only diagnosed, but FIXED, with brand new spark plugs. The technician even stayed an extra 15 minutes, just to make sure we got the car back that night. Very kind, and I am super thankful that they were willing to go the extra mile to help us out at this store. A+!

I leave in Banff and Had a delicate situation in regard to a TV exchange. I was helped by Jessica? Supervisor I was surprise to see How Professional she was from my First call to my visit at the store later that day From Banff.
She made the Process seamless and she informed me about warranty and stuff And she didnt leave Customer service desk UNTIL IO have been fully help with al my question and needs. Considering this is Canadian Tire! I would have to say That She Truly Represent the Brand and More. Because of her I even made an impulsive purchase which otherwise I would of not done THANK YOU Steven from Banff

Online orders couldn't be much worse. In store inventory is inaccurate. Can't do a ship to store because it says store has inventory when it doesn't so won't ship to store. Had to order item in Calgary because unable to order locally.

Professional, efficient, approachable, knowledgable, friendly, and someone who seems like they will do everything in their power to get you out of a squeeze! Thank you so much Lukas!

Matthew was really helpful today, even though he was clearly busy with other customers and duties he dealt with us quickly and efficiently.

At times dealing with customer service and the customer service mechanics too, they have been good.

This Canadian Tire offers the feeling and service of what you’d expect from a small family owned hardware store, better than the small family owned hardware store here in Banff.

When you factor in the savings at Canadian Tire compared to the local hardware store, it is worth the drive to Canmore every time.

Tried to get my vehicle inspected, was called 10 minutes after I dropped the car off because the technician couldn’t get the car to start. This has never been an issue with my car, I went back and started the car immediately. I showed the technician who was obviously very uncomfortable being shown by a woman what to do and had a very bad attitude about it even though I was very polite. Left the car running and got a call later saying they had not been able to start the car for an hour and that they could no longer do the inspection. When I went back the car started straight away again for me and was in the exact same position where I left it. The guy obviously turned the engine off as soon as I left and pretended it didn’t work. The guy also didn’t latch the hood of my car which I didn’t notice and it flew up on the highway and I almost crashed. I can’t help but feel like he did it on purpose. Major incel vibes! Would definitely not recommend any women to come here, I am very shaken up after this experience

I had terrible service here. Very unimpressed with the girls working at the party booth. It took me over an hour to get 12 regular balloons for over $25 - all of them poped within 18 hours. They did not treat me nicely and were not helpful whatsoever. I would even drive an hour to Calgary to not have to go back again. Would not recommend.

The absolute worst service I have ever recieved from customer service. I purchased a product that was faulty which could have caused serious injury. The rudest clerk I have ever met failed to do her job I would suggest that they look for work in a different industry. The store manager didn't manage much.

I am so grateful to have been able to receive exceptional customer service from store manager Deb this morning. She showed so much care and compassion and professionalism in processing a return. It feels great to be able to shop here with confidence. I lost my wedding ring and was hoping a metal detector would be the solution but they were inadequate. Even though the product was a disappointment the customer service was great. I would highly recommend this store to friends and family. I will be back to shop at this store.

Just passing through Canmore, and my car started making a very concerning noise and I wanted to get it checked out asap in case it would cause serious damage. Tasha at the Auto Service helped me out enormously and squeezed me in to get my car looked at. It ended up being an easy fix and she charged me accordingly and fairly! It was such a relief to have that sorted and with great customer service as well! Thank you!

I give 0 star to this specific young white lady at the customer service when I went to pick up my item today, I went there around noon and I was standing in the line waiting for my turn, she seemed to be totally indifferent and ignorant at first, then I stepped in myself, she asked in an unfriendly manner how she can help me and asked for my email confirmation which I didn't have it with me, because I ran out of data on my phone and couldn't check my email, she spoke in a very unpleasant tone saying she needs to see my email confirmation otherwise she can't find my item, this was not my first purchase online, I had experience before that they searched me by my last name, finally she got my item by searching my last name in 2 seconds, however she was speaking so unpleasant that everybody was looking at us as if it was my fault, finally when I received my item, she was so rude and told me with her unpleasant tone that next time be sure have my confirmation, THAT WILL MAKE MY LIFE EASIER, I'd never heard this sentence from a customer service representative, I work myself at the customer service, this is not the way we deal with customers specially locals every day, may be she is a new employee, maybe she was not in a mood to work today but she has to work on her attitude and improve it no matter of what, there were two other ladies there (an elderly and a young lady that I think she is philippino) which I know them both and they are both friendly and professional all the time. So I appreciate if the person in charge follow this case, because we don't want to see these kind of behaviors and attitudes in the future when we visit our favorite stores as we are a small community and don't want to see these dramas anymore.

I had my tires rotated at this location. When I came back, as directed, to get a simple re-torque, they could not be bothered to take a half a minute or lend me a tire iron. My family and others depend on having my vehicle safe for the roads and they were not able perform a very simple but important task. Very disappointed in customer service at this Canmore location. Do not get your vehicle serviced here if care about your family’s safety as well as others on the roads.

Actually, I have been going to this place for years and never had an issue. However, yesterday one of his employees was nothing but rude to me. I guess he was just too lazy and grumpy to give the proper customer service. He got annoyed when I asked him politely if he work there and could help me to find a particular product. Then after I politely insisted, he showed me and took me to the aisle where the product is. However, because my eyesight is not the best and I was trying to find a specific product that I could not see it at first sight, I tried to ask one more question.and his answeer was like. "what else do you want, I just showed it to you "in a rude way before I could explain myself clearly. Obviouly this gentleman needs to put away his personal drama when is at work. No need to act in the store like that because he os not giving a good image at all.

This particular location has a multiple items needed for camping, hiking and various outdoor activities and sports.
Not only does it have items for outdoor but for indoor as well, such as coffee maker, pans and so on.

We called the store to see if they would price match a product that was on sale with another retailer and were told over the phone by one of the employees that it would be honored so we jumped in the car to go purchase the item. 10 minutes later upon arrival at the store, the manager said the product didn't qualify for the price match guarantee and when we told her the employee's name we spoke to and that we were given verbal confirmation that it would be honored and he came to the service desk to agree with our story, she basically said he made an error and we couldn't get the discount. I understand there are policies they have to respect but we did our due diligence before coming to the store and the manager should have honored the discount as promised to us by her employee and then used it as a training opportunity to learn from the mistake for next time. The entire experience was a demonstration of poor customer service and I'm glad we were able to find an online retailer that honored the discount even though I would have preferred to shop within our community.

After researching winter tires for our 2 vehicles, I had decided to order them from this location as it is my local store. I had found 2 full sets, which stated they were in stock at this location. Other sets that I perused here, would say out of stock, please check other stores.
I purchased the tires, $1700.00, on October 24th and was emailed back that they would be ready for curbside pickup on October 29th. When I called them October 30th to see if they were there, the person told me he was too busy and that he could call me back or I could come into the store to inquire.
Today is November 2nd. I went into this location, spoke with the front counter gentleman, he looked up my order and stated it was in transit. I asked if he could provide an ETA as I had upcoming appointments to get the tires put on rims and balanced, based on my confirmation to pick up the tires. He simply stated, no. I asked, could it be a month, a week or a day or two, and he stated 'yes. I then asked him why I had a confirmation for my purchase for the 29th of October for pickup and that when I purchased them on the 24th of October, they where in stock at this specific store. He told me that they may have sold them.
I had purchased 2 sets of rims at the same time and picked up over a week ago from Canadian Tire. I will be returning them this week and find them elsewhere.

SERVICE REVIEW ONLY

Bought a hitch from U-Haul and they were gonna put it on for $50 but I couldn't get an appointment that worked in my schedule and I needed it ASAP. Since I live in Canmore, went to Canadian Tire. The instructions on the hitch said it would take 30 min to install by a professional. I probably could have done it in an hour if I had the tools. (drill 4 holes, line it up and bolt it in. I provided all the bolts etc.). The guy at the counter quoted me for 1.5 HOURS. I thought whatever, they'll only charge me for how long it actually takes and sign the papers. I give him my keys and I have nothing to do so come back in less than an hour to check if it's done. I see the car is out of the shop but I wait there until they call me. Which took another 30 min of me waiting. He then charges me for the entire 1.5 hours. I'm non-confrontational so I pay and leave super upset because I don't have money to just throw away for hours of service that didn't happen.

Fast forward a few months. I need to change my tires to winters, not on rims. I check my receipts from the last 2 changes (Fountain Tire: $140, Canadian Tire Red Deer: $160). There's a coupon for $30 off so I excitedly book an appointment for 11 at Canadian Tire Canmore thinking it will cost me $130 for the Tire change. I drop my car off the night before. I get a call at 12 saying the car is ready to be picked up. Grab my keys and pay. I was charged almost $180 for a less than 1hr job. I think he forgot to apply the coupon so I ask. NOPE. So it would have costed me $210 without the coupon! I have never had a simple tire change on that car cost more than $160. Just excessive.

This is my second time getting service done here. And it will be my last. I have a Canadian Tire credit card and the $6 I gained is not even close to worth the overpriced service specifically at this Canmore store.

CANMORE Canadian Tire Auto - they saved us from unnecessarily spending $1360 on a part and repair that was NOT needed at all! We just moved to Alberta from BC and our car had to undergo an OOPI. We did it in one of Banff shops and were failed and quoted $1360 for fixing an apparent leak. We knew something was off as we did a pre-OOPI back in BC a few days before we left to see what we need to be prepared for and a tie rod leak was none of the worries. We even called our mechanic back in BC (SMD, if any of you ever move to Whistler - they are awesome) after we got our OOPI results and they confirmed they did not notice anything.
We popped in to Canadian Tire in Canmore on Friday evening, like 4: 40pm so almost right before they were about to close and explained the situation. Dave, CT Auto in Canmore manager said they could perform a quick check on our car right away and afterwards he said it looked like an old residing oil not the power steering fluid at all. We booked an appointment for a proper check and clean up and re-inspection on Monday and just like Dave suspected and what we suspected (we had an oil leak from the pan when we bought the car - it was fixed but apparently not cleaned up) and what SMD suspected back in BC - there was no leak from power steering components! You guys saved us from spending huge amount of money on something that was not even there.
