Service Manager is useless. Had several bad experiences over the last couple years but the one this week is the last straw. Asked them very simply to put the scanner on my car while it had the oil changed as the engine light had come on. Well they "forgot" and then "didn't have time" (the 5 seconds it takes) to put the scanner on after I reminded them I had asked to have it done. I had no issue paying for the extra service ($75 for them to just connect a cord and read out the code). Staff said manager told them they didn't have time, even though it was their fault it wasn't done when they had it up changing the oil. Turned out the fault was fairly serious and could have ended up very poorly had I not taken it to another shop. Will never give this store another dime.

What an absolute joke of an establishment, worst customer service available in all of red deer as a whole. DO NOT SHOP HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED HORRIBLY.

In the grand theme of things it's a Canadian tire so basicly the same as all others. How ever this store just had a renovation and is gorgeous.

Very insulted! I went in Monday to purchase Ammo in 22 and 30 30 caliber plus 4 other things total way over $ 200.00. I got everything until I went to get my ammo because they need to bring up to the front to pay for it that I don't have a problem with. However the person at the ammo center says in a very rude fashion
Quote " DO YOU HAVE A PALL CARD " I said really would I being here with out one, could of said I just need to see your card as I had my hands full.i said let me put this down and I can show it to you. THEN he says " if your don't like it you can go somewhere else IN front of another guy. The guy looked at me in disbelief. I left everything there asked for the manager told him what had happened and left the store. I am a 66 year old and have hunted for 47 years and have never been treated so insultingly in all this time. I will never be back to this store again. With the thousands of $$$ us hunters and shooters going to the shooting range spending hard eared money no one needs this kind of insulting and disrespectful treatment. I would not be going to store again.there other stores in town that would appreciate your cash and I support our locale stores instead of going on line and getting it else where. Just thought I would share this experience and save you the same treatment.

Staff was great. Right to the point, she didn't really greet me so she called the manager on her self and got fired! LOL The manager was just as great and very knowledgeable. I went back the next day and did a bigger purchase and she was there working and greeted us asap! This is my new go to store!

We have recently purchased a house which needs to be painted inside. After going to a couple of paint stores in town I stopped into Canadian Tire where I was lucky enough to find Allen in the paint department. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. We was patient and kind. I walked out with everything I needed to get started on our project. Thank you Allen for your outstanding customer service.

My experience at Canadian tire south is always good. Can always find an employee willing to help answer questions or help me find items. But the last time I was there.the employee, Janbrix, went above and beyond to help me! He stopped what he was doing, was friendly, polite and determined to find what I needed. It took him about 20 minutes to find what I needed as the spot on the shelf for it was filled with something else. But he didn't give up! He's amazing

It was super busy when I was there. Masking is required. Two tills open, not including self checkout, not sanitizing between customers at any till. Checked online for the items I needed to see if they were available, and online was accurate, thank you!

I recently moved to this beautiful city and have been feeling welcome but today I had the experience of my life! I went in to have my vehicle accessed and fixed at Canadian Tire Red Deer and was mistaken to think I would have the same, non biased experience I always have in Calgary. Needless to say for the first time in my life I have experienced first hand what racism is! I was treated as though I had the intent to steal, followed around by cameras as I moved isle to isle. " security camera to A. B C as I went along.leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I would not recommend this store to any racialized individuals and will be either going to Home Depot or Toyota for tools and my vehicle to be fixed.

Canadian tire, This is 2021, there is no room for racism in Canada!

Never buy anything full price from Canadian tire unless you need it yesterday. Things often go on sale for like 60% off if you're willing to take the time to wait.

Went to the auto shop because my engine was having issues obtaining higher speeds. The sales people were very informative during the entire proccess and made put me at ease. Although their first attempt at fixing my vehicle did not work, I came back and they spent another hour on the vehicle for free to finalize the repair. I definitely recommend the auto shop and would personally come back if I had any other issues.

Shopping with a friend for lights for her new home. Managed to find suitable fixtures and enough of each to fill a shopping cart. Nice to be able to find enough stock to satisfy your needs.

Vic was awesome at helping and even helped me find someone who can make the key for my car. But the other parts rep with the beard was very rude. Simply asked a question if this was a way out and got the responses "can't you tell I'm on the phone, some people"

Researched the item I needed, checked the availability. Said they had 53 items in stock. Went to the store. Shelf bare. Asked for help. Young guy looked on his handheld thingy and said, yes we should have 53 in stock. I said can you go look in the back for me? He said "it will be impossible to find back there". So I said, I guess I'll go to Peavy Mart then? He said, I guess so. Nice Canadian Tire, nice.
Reply to Canadian Tire. No I'm not going to call a 1800 number and be on hold for goodness knows how long, then get someone from some far off place that I can't understand. I'll just shop at Lowes, Home Depot, Peavy Mart, or co-op Home centre.lots of choices.

This one in the south has always been my favourite, great service, good prices, and I can find just about anything I'm looking for, including many years back everything to renovate my bathroom, like medicine cabinet that looks like a shelf on the outside, matching mirror and scone lights to light switches et.
Yes there is big hardware stores in Red Deer now, but I value my time and don't like spending most of it trying to find everything I did for my bathroom.
It's also in a good spot to get off and on QE 2 highway

Had to make a quick stop at the red deer Canadian tire. Wasn’t sure if I needed oil & coolant for my road trip. They doubled checked all my fluid levels and sent me on my way. Great customer service. Very pleased!

Just lowered my rating as this store is getting worse. Why not just one star. Because the quality isn't bad and the cashier's are great.
Three major problems with this store.
1. They treat people like we all plan on ripping them off. Count how many times there is a security issue going over the intercom. Or try and return something and listen to the tone and attitude. They act like their customers are criminals.
2. Their staff only know where to find things. Don't ask further questions about their product, they don't know.
3. Their online inventory is severely out. I have gone to purchase things in store with their website's reassurance that they have 10 of that item in stock, only to find they don't have any when you get there 30 min later.
Maybe this is a result of ALOT of people stealing. Wich would explain point 1.

Bathrooms have been closed for almost a year due to covid. Simple hand sanitizer would take care of any concerns but a customer gets the impression that the staff are simply too lazy to clean. A lot of the staff is unfriendly and simply a turnstile of minimum wage paid employees.

I was proven again today why it's my last choice for auto parts. The staff is untrained, have not a clue what there doing. And the apathy an old man stood in front of me with the personality of a stick and basically didn't care that I got the wrong part's again

This is for the automotive department specifically. Took the wife’s car in to get the battery replaced. We asked them to please clean the corrosion off the battery connectors. They said no problem. Paid $260 with parts and labor. Then my wife had electrical problems with the car. We called and they said we can’t do anything take it to Mazda. Off to Mazda we went, they opened up the hood and the corrosion was still on the battery connectors. So after paying Mazda another $150 to do a job we had already paid for I called customer service. They said the store would get back to me, it’s been 3 days and no response. I would not recommend anyone take their car here for service as they just take your money and tell you to kick rocks after with zero remorse.

Claim to price match competitors but play games with item model numbers. Wouldn't price match a sprayer that Graco makes only one version of.
Response: my point remains that you play games with product numbers when the product matches without a doubt. So what's the point of saying you'll match prices?

I had stopped by the north location and I was recommended a battery blanket as it's been -30 this week. I mentioned it was a company vehicle so installation would have to be approved by the fleet company first. The gentlemen there were incredibly helpful, unfortunately their manager wasn't in and suggested I visit the south CT.

In the south there was too much misunderstanding between the service adviser and me. He required a work order and a number to call, as well as who it is billed to.

All dealings I had with having work done on the car in the past simply required the vendor (in this case CT) to call the fleet company # that was on the card and provide them the information (vin#, km's, work estimate) and if approved, the car gets serviced.

I was confused as this is all normally handled by the vendor and told him I don't know, and handed the card and said to call the number. He said he needed all this info before anything can begin, telling me I didn't understand.

I called the number myself and explained the situation. Fleet guy tells me all I needed the service adviser to do was have him call them (# on the card) and provide the info stated earlier. And that was it.

So I tell him. He still asks about the work order and said I still don't understand and got his manager. Manager was really helpful even though I could tell he was quite busy. He was familiar with the process and asked if I had the card and I gave it to him right away. He was assuring me that this will be quick as I had been at the store for close to an hour at this point. I don't think the manager was aware I was expecting it to be installed by them but the other guy did know- he told me that they were busy and the earliest time would be in the afternoon.

In the end I got the battery blanket, just not installed. I called later to try to clear this up only to be informed the manager was busy and to leave my info to be reached later. Never heard from them. At this point it's too much of a hassle and not worth it. I also don't like condescending people.

The management watched me walk around the store looking for a few things and thought I was in there stealing but didn't ever come over to see if I needed help with anything.

They had what I needed, but it took me forever to find someone to help me, and then a long time for them to bring it from the back. Feels like a lot going on at this location and not well layed out.

I would give zero stars for customer service since there just isn't any. Just a bunch of cheap junk and no help. Go spend your money at a small business in your community that appreciates you being there rather than sending your money to corporate investors for poorly made foreign products.

Great service inside the store. However, the automotive department leaves a lot to be desired. I watched the previous Auto-manager (and was the previous store manager) come in and tell the staff that they would make his vehicle a priority over the current vehicles. When the sales guy didn't comply, Terry made a call on his cellphone to someone and told them that the guy at the auto desk wouldn't help a previous store manager. Terry handed the phone to the service guy. After the call was concluded, Terry's truck was brought in immediately and everyone else's vehicles were bumped. That included a woman with a small child who returned to pick up her vehicle at the time she was told it would be ready. She was told it would be an additional 2 hours. I watched the guy that was working on her vehicle, be pulled away to work on Terry's. It was clear that this delay was due to the fact the mechanic was no longer finishing her job and would have to return to it. We will never return to Canadian Tire automotive again, after this.

I was shopping at Canadian Tires for 22 years now, but I will not do it ever again!
I walked to store few weeks ago, without mask, as I am medical exempt, and the girl at the Customer Service rudely yelled at me where is my mask! I told he I am medical exempt, to which she said, well, do it fast and next time you do curb pick up! That next time did not and will never happen, as I will never spend a dime at the store who discriminate customers, and I took my business to Home Depot, where I was NEVER questioned about my mask free face, as well as some other businesses in Red Deer.
Shame on you Canadian Tire, even if it's just one customer dollar ; it is still making your business running, and paying wages to your employees.

There shop is a joke lied about when they will work on my car. Would not work with me on anything. Didn't do any work and still there shop manager wanted money to release the car. Do not recommend there work or staff.

It shouldn't take over two hours to have a car battery warranty to be honoured. Who has 2 hours to stand around waiting for their dead battery to be tested? $220 for a battery that lasted 2 years is a joke. I went to Costco, and suggest that you do the same (they actually believe you when you say the battery is dead).

It feels like they have no regards for your time, and treat you like a criminal because their poorly made items couldn't possibly break.

Amazing Deals and Service in the Automotive Department.

I believe Fenton helped me originally and got me a few great quotes on tires. Called in a few days later and spoke with Brian who I think is the service manager. Answered all my questions and helped me make a proper decision.

When I went it I was helped by a younger lad, didn’t catch his name but he got me all booked and tires on. Under an hour! Great work, great service, honest staff. I won’t be taking my vehicle back to the dealership anymore I can say that with confidence. These guys are my new go to shop!

I am a former employee of Canadian Tire South. I was let go from my position at the start of COVID due to a preexisting medical condition on my lungs. They said customers and staff were afraid of me coughing so I was told to isolate for 2 weeks. During this two weeks I was let go and told it was without cause but I have emails from the GM stating it was because I was coughing and they need to restructure due to the amount of my wage and possible loss of sales.

I was in the store last week to get an item. The item was not on the shelf and I was asked to wait while a worker retrieved it from the back warehouse. I saw the owner walk in. 2 min later I was approached by the service manger and was told to leave. I was further told it was because i was not wearing a mask and socializing with staff. This was false as I was told to wait for an item that had to be located in the back. The owner and the General Manger both know about my lung condition. The store also lets other people shop who can not wear a mask but clearly a Canadian Forces veteran with a medical history can not.

Also at the start of the COVID they sanitized the store with pure alcohol from a distillery. I advised them not to proceed with this as customers who have an allergy to alcohol could be harmed. This continued for a few days as I was still on staff but can not confirm if this is still ongoing.

The owner of this store clearly discriminated against my medical condition both by letting me go and then asking me to leave. He is well aware of my condition. I would avoid this store at all cost until they get a new dealer who respects staff, does not discriminate against Veterans with medical conditions, and does not put their customers at risk. After 20 years working for various Canadian Tire dealers I am disappointed that I ran into one who discriminates against veterans, Runs the store on minimal staff to save money, and has no concern for the safety of customers. If I could have given zero stars I would have rated the store in the negative.

Red deer south Canadian tire is a JOKE! Went to spend Canadian tire money I have saved up and they are unwilling not only to accept their own money, but offer ANY alternatives. Employees could easily wear gloves and accept the money, same as cash or put it on a gift card or some other alternative so people can spend their Canadian tire money they have saved. Everything is “covid” but I guarantee they aren’t walking around sanitizing every single product on the shelves that customers and staff are touching HAHA!
