Canalta Jurassic Hotel

Good little hotel. Clean rooms, close to a grocery store, a Tim Hortons, a Subway, and a few other places to eat. Simple rooms, not overly modern but perfectly comfortable. They are also pet friendly for an extra fee of $20/night.

My Wife and myself had a great experience at the Hotel. Fantastic staff, Clean, Quiet. Will return someday. Thank You.

Awesome location, short drive to main attractions. Rooms were well equipped and clean, staff was attentive and courteous. Got a nice toy for the kids on arrival, and hotel had a bunch of cool dinosaur displays. Breakfast was well stocked and delicious too.

To speak honestly, I did not suppose to have an excellent experience in hotels in Canada when I booked here because we were disappointed in a hotel in Jasper. However, in fact, we stayed here quite comfortably. The bedroom and washroom were not new but beautiful enough, realizing the cleaners' careful work. We conveniently parked our car just in front of our room. Several ornaments of dinosaurs made us happy. The front people were pleasant.
Again, we appreciate this worthwhile hotel.

James went out of his way to make sure me and my sister had accommodations and unfortunately we had to cancel. We appreciate the kindness and will be stopping by in the near future! Friendly staff

Excellent hotel, conveniently near extra food!
The breakfast was really good, the lady in charge of it was quite kind and attentive.

We need to give a shout-out to Annette of the Breakfast Hotel Staff.we had the best visit with her. She goes above and beyond, which is very rare to see these days. Wonderful Hot Breakfast, Affordable, Clean and Friendly.

Great staff.clean rooms clean property.no pools slides which means no kids running the halls and crowding the breakfast buffet.don't be fooled by the outside.first choice in Drumheller.

2 stars, but only because the hotel was clean and staff were relatively friendly.

The rooms are indeed super spacious, and very clean, however this is the absolute worst Hotel mattress I have ever slept on in my life, I travel very frequently. My review is not to ‘Bash’ the hotel or anything but to warn others about the mattress it was SO HARD. You can feel every spring, and it’s really like someone took springs, put a thin layer of material on top and called it good.

Anyways, nice staff, clean hotel, but if you have any kind of body pain especially back pain probably look elsewhere.

I came here to give a shout out to the breakfast hotel staff because she was the best, and looks like I’m not alone! She was so sweet and made sure we had a great experience! She. Needs. A. Bonus!

Hotel was very clean and spacious, good location and overall great stay.

Our kids hockey team booked Canalta Jurassic for a hockey tournament nearby. The conference rooms were booked but they were able to let us use their breakfast room to host a pizza dinner for the kids. They even provided us with paper plates and utensils!

Rose and the evening front desk guy (I think his name was Brian?) we’re both very nice and helpful. Rose helped us arrange the room for our pizza dinner. Brian? Gave good suggestions for other dining options during our stay.

The included breakfast was also quite good. The lady that worked the breakfast room was also exceptional. She was friendly and attentive. She kept the food stocked and the place clean. Tables were cleared quickly. The serving area kept clean.

The hotel itself is fine. It’s not fancy but is clean. The beds were comfortable and everything well maintained. The staff is what made the difference for me. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Basic hotel, if you are looking for a hotel that has a pool or hot tub this hotel is not it.staff are friendly but i find that at aloy of hotels:) but this one is a quiet hotel.which i enjoy

Stayed the night with my husband and 2 kids. Check in was friendly and prompt. Rooms were clean and spacious with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. A complimentary continental breakfast buffet was offered with coffee/tea, juices, fruit, eggs, hashbrowna yogurt, breads and waffle station - everyone left satisfied. The lady who was in charge of the breakfast this morning was incredible and made sure everything was clean, well stocked and that the coffee was fresh. She was also so kind and patient with our kids as well. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Booked handicapped room via expedia but didn't get thru to hotel luckily I caught it the error. Handicapped room was excellent had chair slider for tub, worked great. Friendly staff and free breakfast was wonderful.

The room was dark and dingy with a tiny bathroom but the breakfast room was surprisingly decent and had the nicest hostess!

The Canalta Jurassic Drumheller was an excellent base for exploring the area. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite good. Excellent value for the money and highly recommended.

Clean hotel, comfortable rooms, front desk helpful and knowledgeable and the best part the incredible lady in charge of the breakfast.

You can see how proud she is of her job.

I will come back to Drumheller, I will stay at the Canalta Jurassic Hotel and I will look forward to the delicious breakfast and the friendly attention.

We had a fantastic stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, bathroom nice, with a nice deep tub. Air conditioning was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic and they staff were all great. Would stay here again.

Clean and just what we needed for our stop in Drumheller. Lexi at the front desk was informative and Annette at breakfast made sure everyone had a clean table and plenty to eat. Best hot breakfast I’ve had in a while. I would stay here again.

Stayed here with the kiddos for two nights. Overall it was fairly decent. Small improvments could be made, updating some things, and cleaning up a tad better but I'm being picky. The small pool was not open, and unfortunately we didn't see anything online about that before we came (we learn it was closed during COVID time and it hasn't reopened).
Also. The lady that does the continental breakfast in the morning needs a raise! She's great all around!

The room was spacious and clean but the carpet needs to steam. The gentleman behind the desk was polite and very helpful.

My son and I were just visiting Drumheller for the weekend and this was a great base to explore from, a few minutes away from everything we wanted to do. And when we just needed to chill a bit, the Canalta Jurassic was perfect. The staff is really friendly. Props to James for welcoming us in late at night, and the amazing Annette who ran the breakfast like a boss, keeping a constant stream of guests well-fed and happy. Thanks so much for a great stay!

Clean rooms, good breakfast selection, easy check in- a very good hotel experience. What bumps it to a five star rating is the staff! You guys have exceptional and friendly people, and they make you shine!

Room is clean and neat. Able to park right by our door. Outside access. Free breakfast. Thank you for a pleasant stay! Staff was very friendly. Quite area.

For what it is, it's fantastic. Great staff, great location. Well kept and clean.

Not much to say way overpriced for what is offered the place definitely needs a Reno I only rated this hotel at 3 stars because of the staff very friendly hats off to the lady who’s there every morning preparing the continental breakfast. And if you have and room to the back like I had make use of it like a did with family after a long day at the horseshoe canyon.

Very friendly staff. Room was perfect for what we needed. Beds were comfortable, and the shower pressure was great! We thought the breakfast was good, and it was constantly restocked. We would definitely stay again. Thanks!:)

Pretty solid hotel in Drumheller. The breakfast was very good! Rooms were pretty standard stuff. Our shower had different water stream settings which was cool. Not sure if it's like that in all the showers but nice nonetheless. The staff was friendly, especially the lady running breakfast. She was a sweetheart. Overall, no complaints about this place. It does just fine for a weekend getaway.

Great stay and breakfast for a great price! Very conveniently located to all the things we wanted to see and do, across the street from Extra Foods and other dining options.

Came to drumheller to see the dino museum again. Been to museum a few times before. This would have been the first time since covid started. Also first time at Canalta. We arrived and quickly noticed there was no power. Front desk staff were trying to check guests in with no computer and no key cards. They let us into the room and warned us the door would lock if we let it close. They informed us power would be out for a few more hours. No problem for us. We went to dino museum and were told at entrance we needed to have already purchased tickets as they were fully booked. That story is for a different review. So we had driven 4-5 hours to come see dino bones and couldn't get in. Our whole mini holiday was centered aroubd the museum and now we had to thinknif something else to do. We decided to go to Calgary instead. We went back to the hotel and asked if we could cancel. Thry said no problem and no charge. I even offered to pay a cleaning fee as we had used the bathroom. They said don't worry about it. Although we didn't stay long, the room looked great. Was clean. Friendly staff. Cool under pressure as some of the guests checking in were not as patient or understanding about the power out that affected half the town. Would definitely recommend this place. Will come back next time and will order dino tickets ahead of time. Thanks!
