Candlewood Suites West Edmonton - Mall Area

One of my new favorite hotels ever. Very spacious and feels like home. I wish I would of booked a extra day it fills up so fast.

Stay here often for work. Always a great stay. Mohammad is usually up front and always makes sure my stay is satisfactory.

My family of 5 stayed at the holiday Inn candle wood location in July, my oldest daughter and I shared a bed we both had bites on our legs, I suspect bed bug bites and confirm this with a pharmacist and a nurse.
I emailed the manager and expressed my concern, I emailed him pictures of our bites and requested that we have a refund of our stay. He replied the next day stating that he had his room keeping staff and also had an exterminator come in to verify "he confirmed the room was sqeakey clean. " And no bed bugs found.
To which I replied and requested to see the report or receipt from said exterminator, as I again had the bites looked at by 2 healthcare professionals who both confirmed them to be bed bug bites. I haven't recieved a reply I was however offered a 10% reduction in cost on our next stay.

Reasonable for a slightly longer stay; convenient amenities. Easy access to Walmart and various restaurants. Sometimes noisy, but quiet enough after midnight.

This is a newer town. The rooms were clean and the mattresses were comfortable. The gym was perfect for travelers.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you enjoy sleep. You can hear the people in the halls. Sadly the other guests there were so rude. We ended up checking out an early bc the beds were so uncomfortable and how loud it was i needed some sleep so went to a new hotel. The management didn’t ask or care why we left early. Also the rooms were 6/10 in clean ones

Stayed here for 2 weeks while I was going through radiation treatment and I found it very comfortable.staff was helping and considerate. Rooms were spacious and clean.loved the fully equipped kitchenettes with basics a person needs. Bed was so comfy I didn't wanna leave lol love it here

Don’t stay here, employees are very ignorant, I was scolded and banned for asking for an extra key card

Excellent hotel. Staff was very helpful and accommodating even when they were sold out. Amy and Mohammed (front desk) were extremely helpful. We will be using this hotel for our next trips. Rooms were spacious and no weird smells.

Five minutes away from the West Edmonton Mall, Olive Garden, Real Canadian Superstore and Red Lobster. Walmart right behind as well as Wendy’s and Tim’s. The free laundry is wonderful.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds and great heating for winter and air conditioning for summer.

But what really shines is the amazing Staff. They take time to take care of you and your Family. It does not matter where you are from, they treat you and your family with care and respect. The Staff are amazing and any issues, they will make sure to make it right.

Exceeded expectations. If you are looking for a great place without breaking the bank - this is it. Was surprised to see that it is only rated a 2/2.5 star property, which is a bit wild to me considering they have a pool, hot tub, "pantry" that you can shop 24/7, and an appliance cupboard to supplement anything for the kitchenette rooms. We stayed one night and found the hotel to be SUPER clean, staff helpful, and easy access to WEM (only $10 cab ride - would almost be more to take the bus). Our room faced 100 Ave/Stony Plain Rd and you could hear the traffic a bit but otherwise we had a really nice and AFFORDABLE stay. Super value for money!

Fantastic stay! Rooms were Super Clean and Comfortable! Great 24hr coffee bar! Lending Locker should be at ALL hotels! Great Idea… borrowed a board game and had a fun night full of laughs.

I really like the concept and would stay here again. The bathtub is too shallow, just think of it as a shower.

I stay in this hotel once a month while on business trips. I have always found everyone to be absolutely amazing and very accommodating, with consistency. The rooms are always clean, spacious, the kitchenettes are wonderful and the beds are very comfortable. Can’t ask for anything more! Thanks so much see you soon:)

Nice overall hotel. Did not like the discrepancies in prices from the website onto the front desk. Nevertheless they did a price adjustment but not without first having to push for it. The room was super clean, I was surprised there was no room service. Clean overall environment, breakfast was nice, pool was clean.

The cleaning staff are amazing and friendly. I see them hard at work wiping and disinfecting all the surfaces. Check in was a little rocky but they upgraded us to a king bed. The fitness center is really nice and clean. The hotel room was so comfortable with the big bed and TV. I like the built in shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the shower it smells so good. Location is great within walking distance to a few stores coffee shops and walmart. Definitely coming back on my next trip to Edmonton.

Nice suite but a couple things broken, including the heat in the bedroom. It was fixed to our satisfaction the next day but the first night was freezing. Staff was pleasant and very kind to our kids. The pool is fine but small, the games room was always busy due to being shared by 2 hotels. The breakfast was not included but purchasable for $5. It was easily the worst hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. Very busy and hard to find a seat - again shared by 2 hotels. Would probably stay again but skip the breakfast.

Service was fantastic. People are great. Suite was roomy and clean. However pool and weight room and parking are shared with another hotel so VERY busy and gym has no water or towels and there are no movies or other entertainment options. If you are looking for roomy clean apartment style stay without hotel amenities this is a great place!

We came for a quick shopping trip with teenagers and were completely blown away by the facilities, the large spacious rooms, and fully equipped kitchen. The real treasure by far though is the staff! Service over and above anything we have ever experienced.

No issues with the rooms what so ever. However unless you are arriving by a taxi or shuttle bus good luck finding parking. They have underground parking for smaller vehicles but in Alberta we drive trucks. The parking is very limited so don’t arrive after 12 noon (and don’t intend to leave once your there) or you will be parking minimum 4-5 blocks away. Also know that the amenities (pool, fitness room etc) are shared with the adjoining Holiday Inn. So you have 2 hotels and one 8x8 hot tub.

The kitchenette is probably the best selling feature of this hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, fridge has ice. But beware! The pool, continental breakfast, games room and parking lot are all shared with the Holiday Inn, so not only are you competing with other guests for parking, the pool, continental breakfast (aka enough seats at breakfast) you have to share with Holiday Inn guests which is connected to the Candlewood.

If you want somewhere quiet, calm, and relaxing I wouldn’t recommend the candlewood/holiday inn. If those things don’t bother you then it’s fine! I was looking forward to the free breakfast and pool &hot tub but both were extremely busy and a little too family-friendly for my tastes.

(Keep in mind I am posting this during Family Day weekend so take this review with a grain of salt.)

Lauren at the front reception was lovely and so accommodating, to me and my family she made sure to show us all the board games and where to buy snacks and made us feel like we were in a home away from home, thank you again! ️ We will definitely return.

Great room, very clean, perfect location and service was fantastic. Only issue was the kitchen said "fully stocked", but no oil for cooking and only 1 packet of coffee (and 1 decaf for a 2 night stay).

Worst hotel in Edmonton. Staff extremely unhelpful when trying to add more nights to stay, one elevator for 4 floors, underground parking with a foul smell so bad could barley be down there, shower in room has NO water pressure - tried to call the front desk several times with no answer. Go down the street 500 feet for cheaper and way nicer accommodations.

It was our third time staying at this hotel, but categoric THE LAST.
First it was on Sep last year, when the service has been good. The second time was last month in March, and the service start to degrade, but last week was terrible. Even their credit machine didn't work. I was very close to not able to check in because of it. And their front desk person, instead to check/ restart the machine, he was questioning if I really have money on my cards.after 20 minutes of tries, same card worked. Categoric will not go back.

The staff are very nice and helpful especially the receptionist DANAH she welcomed us and was very cheerful and even my kids enjoyed talking and laughing with her. The room was clean and whatever I needed the house keeping supplied me with quickly This is not my first time with them and definitely won't be the last.

Ive been staying at this hotel every other week for 2 years for work. I travel alot and stay in many hotels but none compare to this place its the best! Ask for manger urvish or kathleen, they are the best and i mean best! Always going above and beyond. I wish i could give this place 10 stars! Thanks for having me candlewood!

I booked a 14 night stay. On day 8 at 0635 am, I called the front desk staff and asked to have the room cleaned, while I would be at work. Unfortunately, no one cleaned the room. Apparently, the hotel is good at taking my money but not providing any basic services, in return. Disappointing.

Its not just good, its good enough. The room looks great and was very clean which is my The service was good and the breakfast was tolerable. The wifi was a little on the slow side but it got the job done. Pricing was right where it should be (I booked online with a third party).

Booked pool for 8 pm only to get refused because the guy booked someone else at 8! Stupid mistake! Do your job better! Smh

Room was booked on Priceline with a "Pay when you arrive" option, as we had intended to use a different card on arrival. We arrived to find that the entire balance plus incidentals had already been charged, and that they didn't know why. They then argued that our reservation couldn't be Pay Later, and even when we showed them the reservation confirmation, they just said it was a mistake.

The room overall was alright, but it hadn't been cleaned very well, within seconds of opening the door I spotted several hairs, the stove was dirty, the kettle needed descaling, and there were pebbles on the carpet. The room had lots of space, we loved having a full-size fridge even though it was awkwardly positioned. The bathroom was laughable, my 6yo son couldn't even lay down in the bath tub it was so small! The beds were very uncomfortable but the sheets were soft.

I might stay again if the price is right, but I will be checking the room over with a fine toothed comb.

Absolutely terrible. Lobby is COMPLETELY packed with people and not enough staff to check anyone in. They failed to insist on people wearing masks, so the lobby is packed with mask less people all giving each other covid. You cannot check in at the hotel you book. They make you check in at the Holiday inn. Avoid like the plague you'll surely catch by staying here. Just awful.

Internet was very slow in my room! Other then that the hotel was very good and clean. As Spongebob I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, they have underground parking which is nice and the rooms are really good. The beds are comfy and the breakfast is great.

Everything you need here! Lending locker, store to get supplies, pool, fitness centre, little stove top in rooms! Loved it!

Stayed here twice by booking thru Priceline and seem to have issues each time
Stay 1 - booked for 1 adult, was registered as 2 when I arrived. Was given keys and room number only to find out my keys didn't work, and had to get them reissued twice because the staff could not correctly figure out what room I was booked to.
Stay 2 - booked for 1 adult and 1 child - received a room with only one bed in it. Booked for two nights - came back after site seeing the first day to find our keys deactivated as they had only programmed them for one night. Went to use the pool and found two band aides floating in the water and wet used towels on the pool deck. Came back 2 hours later. The pool area looked the exact same like no one had come to clean it. This at a time when sanitizing and cleanliness is paramount to controling infection and transmission rates.
Not sure if the booking issues are a Priceline or a hotel problem, but definitely could be improved, and the lack of cleanliness was definitely a disappointment.

This place is the best bang for your buck hotel I've ever stayed at! Room are very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud; they even have firm and soft pillows to choose from! You have everything you need in the kitchenette (pots, pans, cutlery, dishware, toaster, etc.). There's also a place where you can rent out things like board games, grills, blenders, slow cookers, and a wide variety of other things. The laundry facilities are free to use. Underground parking is free. The gym has better equipment than what I've seen at some actual gyms. I really can't speak highly enough about this hotel!

This is my family's second stay, the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The area is also next to many amenities which is great. We will be back:)

Well kept room and comfy beds. Access to Holiday Inn amenities.
Not great for kids as elevator and hallways reek of marijuana each day (evenings are worse). Smell doesn't seep into rooms though as doors seem to be well sealed when shut.

Nice big clean room. We were on the first floor as we had our small dogs with us. Very friendly pet hotel. Nice heated underground parking, first come first serve basis, which we never had a problem finding a spot. The hotel itself was tricky getting to at first, but once we got there and figured out the best way it was good. We ended up coming through Canadian Tire and Walmart parking lots to get in. It is connected to the Holiday Inn, the pool and hot tub as well as the breakfast are shared. You do not have to go outside to get to the other hotel but you will need your room key. The front desk is not staffed 24 hours but I believe the Holiday Inn was and they are available to help if you need anything. Breakfast is not included as the rooms are full suites but you can purchase the Holiday Inn breakfast for $5. Both days were very busy for breakfast and the staff was good at refilling things that were running out. I don't like how I had to pay an extra $10 for my 18 year old son where as other places we don't normally have to do so. Friendly staff.

Rooms are beautiful and very clean. Beds could def be more comfortable and AC is noisy as well as noise from the suite above. Love the pantry and the location.

The only reason I did not give this a five star was that the elevator was really wonky and pillows are too soft with no support. Other than that the rooms are absolutely lovely! I had stayed at another property for a month, and for the two dollar price difference, I really wish I would’ve known about this property sooner. I was at another long-term hotel that had a couch area that I never used in the living room. This property has a large desk that would have actually worked so much better for me. It offers an open concept, and is so chill and modern. I really liked it and will stay here again.

Staff did not respond to 3 complaints of noise, the building seemed to have been put together to look nice but lacked insulation and could hear doors closing 2 floors down.

Beautiful rooms, comfy bed, extremely close to everything needed.only downfall, the wi-fi is not that strong.other than that, this place is excellent!
The staff were wonderful.really nothing bad to say.

The bathroom utensils and silver ware with glass cups and bowls make it easier to stay in the room

The only negative is that they do not have enough front desk staff. They NEED to have two working at all times. They always have a long queue of customer's or no one behind the desk

It's a bit tough to get into this place. Limited surface parking but underground parking (free) is a huge bonus, especially in Edmonton. The hotel itself is really nice with some interesting features like an "honour system" convenience pantry that's open 24/7 (note, you have to use your card to get in and there are obviously cameras.so honesty is the best policy here). I like the ice makers in the fridge.

Great suites for extended stays! Great location just a short drive or a $10 Uber to the mall. Does have breakfast available if you are not eating in. Free on site laundry, good pool and hot tub and free underground secure parking. We will be back!

Room and price were good. Trainee at front desk needed way way way more training and a shower. Someone clnear by on my floor had barking dogs in their room.

New, very clean, nice shower (no tub), free laundry, nice gym (just need a couple mats), underground parking, convenient location (is located on a one way though), 1 queen is a very small room (took me a bit to get used too, not so bad now) 49” Smart TV very nice, small kitchenette (2 burners, no oven) with decent cookware and a loaner locker with toaster ovens and blenders. Compared to other hotels in area for price, cleanliness and modern decor, would highly recommend.

The staff are very nice, offered a warm greeting and were helpful. The room was really nice, super clean and very spacious. The bathroom was amazing in terms of size. It was nice and big. It was nice not having to stand right by the toilet to dry off. The reasons for the 3 star review are: the tub is extremely slippery. The shower curtain had a lot of black grease on the bottom corner and up the one side of it, which is why a walk in shower without tub is always the better option. Another reason for the 3 star: the floor drain in the middle of the bathroom floor made the whole hotel room smell like a swamp. I placed a towel over it which only helped a bit. I am not sure if this is a regular problem or because I stayed during a polar vortex. Last reason: the room wouldn't heat past 18.5 degrees. There were 2 thermostats but they wouldn't send heat. I closed the privacy shades but the heating units were blowing cold air through the room. It made the room very uncomfortable especially during a polar vortex.

Excellent stay. Nice Hotel suite very impressive and so modernized. Friendly & polite staff. Awesome heated under ground parking. Bonus is everything's so close to this Hotel. Will come come again.
