Worst food EVER. Not warm, not good, not flavored, not fresh, not worth it.
The "chili" was the worst "chili" I've ever had in my whole life.

I like the new look of the resort now. Unlike back in my H. S.days at (Camille J. Lerouge Collegiate). Now Elementary (French Immersion school).
The entire class used to come here for special P. E.activities. I dreaded it.lol but you won't get any marks if you don't come right? The Shallee setup and many amenities (family and individual lessons are now available and offered to people and individuals at reasonable prices. The resort has gone through an extensive renovation just recently because we were chosen or voted to host the CANADA WINTER GAMES which l also took part in as a volunteer. This is one of the nice non-mountain ski resorts here in Alberta. The most l like here is the drive when l need to relieve myself from toxic people and think.

Fun little place to go tubing with the family for a few hours. Got us all out of the house and beautiful scenery

I heard they are raising their prices AGAIN from $40 to $50 for a half day. This is ridiculous and too expensive. Even inflation can’t justify this. One star. Bah!

Was booked for 12pm and there was 100 people in front of us, there is no way that they were all book for twelve. It takes a little over a minute between launches so we were looking at over 2 hours in wait time and since there are no refunds we just ate the tickets and left, poorly organized we will not be returning

This is so much fuuuun we’ll definitely be back for some more because for adults who enjoy fast rides, this feels insufficient. Although, this is really a ride that suits the kids. Love the experience tho, especially coming from Calgary, it’s not too long of a drive. Also, don’t forget to purchase your video or photos available at the kiosk after the ride. It’s good to keep those memories

Coster review.
While it's fun, be prepared to wait a long time AFTER your time slot to get on the ride. On a Saturday, expect to be standing in line for at least 2 hours. The time slots should he staggered better. If I knew I'd be waiting for hours even with a time slot selected. I would have planned the day better.

I came here to ride the Alpine Coaster. The ride was great, but I don't think I would charge that much for the ride.

The coaster ride is a good experience, enjoy the speed and stunning view at once. However, the ticket station and parking is relative far from the ride.

Waist of money. Our whole group caught up too and was stuck behind someone barely moving on the track about 1/4 of the way down. Not only did it take the fun out of it. It was also a safety hazard. This basically waisted our ride and at $25 for a 1 or 2 minute ride I was not happy. Also after the ride we went up to use the bathrooms and they were disgusting. Urine and toilet paper everywhere. I am glad I am a man and could stand to pee. Also mens and woman’s bathroom was not separated. The whole thing was a bad experience.

It's worth the road from Edmonton
Staff was awesome, very clean, and organized grounds.
You have a bit of walking, and the seats are not comfortable. I saw after they had pads for your 5 that was only issue

My wedding was last September and everything was fantastic. Robyn and Aaron are very genuine and kind people who do their best to go above and beyond to make your day special and run smoothly.

My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at Canyon Ski Resort. The day was incredible and went off without a hitch. The staff were attentive and approachable, and the food was EXCELLENT (the BEST mashed potatoes I have ever had). The venue was beautiful and rustic. It was beyond anything I had envisioned. Having a summer wedding, we loved having our guests outside during cocktail hour as they enjoyed the wrap around wooden deck. Robyn and Aaron made the planning process easy. They were responsive, flexible, and always professional. They stepped out of their way to accommodate any and all requests to make it the best day for us. My husband and I had the unforgettable day of our lives, and we got so many positive compliments from our guests. Some even said it was the most memorable wedding they'd ever attended. From the bottom of our hearts thank you!

Great place for tubing! And the ski hill is perfect for learning if you want to take lessons. Great place. Also hosts beautiful weddings in the summer

We drive here from Edmonton all the time. Worth the extra drive over the small hills in Edmonton

By far the best place for learning to ski or snowboard. Reasonably priced and some of the friendliest staff in the whole industry! One of the best run ski areas I've ever been to in the country. Best riding you'll get outside of the mountains.

The staff we just disrespectful and did not treat us woth any respect. We tried to get the family day pass and didn't believe we where family because we didn't look alike and then we mentioned we adopt our kids and they said oh yeah no we can't sell u the family day pass because u aren't actually family. So I can't take my adopted kids skiing

We had a great time. First time son had a fantastic instructor who had him on the slopes in no time. Great way to spend a winter day.

Not a very pleasant ride. Coasters are small and uncomfortable. Terrible track design. Going through corners felt like I was going to be thrown off as it is a very rigid ride. Not worth $25 for 30 seconds of “fun”. Take your money elsewhere.

We were supposed to have a room in the lodge for a wedding. When we got there it wasn't available because they didn't clean the room. What a disappointment. Thank God the weather was nice

Good fun. Always go for at least two runs. Second run should be quite a bit faster than the first. Trust the track and enjoy.

Great coaster but hopefully make it more longer. Improve the way to the coaster area, the parking lot & the way to coaster hoping no more walking next time but other than that the coaster ride is awesome!

Although the line was a bit long, even when you've picked a specific time, we will be back. It was a great ride all the way down. Friendly staff. Only issue is we cannot get ahold of anyone by phone and nobody has replied to my emails about the digital photos. It's been weeks and we still have not received them.

The ride is fun and they seem to move people through efficiently. Going down I expected more of a canyon view but it's basically just cut through the trees. The trip back up is slow, quiet and quite relaxing. I'd give it 5 stars but the price is pretty high for what you get. They should offer additional rides for a discount after you've purchased one.

I decided to take my family up to Red Deer to check out the new coaster. First, for anyone going there new, know not to go towards the attraction itself, but to the mobile on the far side of the parking lot. We walked with our kids to the lineup to be told we need wristbands first. On the walk back we did notice the relatively small signage asking of you've gotten your wristbands, though there are no indications as to where to do this. It's not a quick walk with children.

Second, long story short, we ended up paying for single riders when we didn't need to. No biggie. Asked for a refund. To get a refund, we needed to set up an account. After this process we find out it's just credit anyway, no actual refund. I tell the girl I live in Calgary and don't plan to come back. The resolution was me just taking the loss and getting into the lineup.

Third, the wait was slightly over 2 hours. Slow line, standing in the sun, and any water for kids was a 10 min walk away while sacrificing your spot in line.

Fourth, and yes this is our bad, my wife lost her phone on the 3 minute ride. The guy unloading us after the ride seemed helpful, said they would do a sweep for it. Called the next morning, no one seemed to know anything about it. The lady I spoke with said they would take a look right away and would call me back. When the end of the day rolled around, I called back to a very salty lady. She said it's impossible for them to look until the end of the day (dusk) and they know about it, I should have brought it up the previous day. I said thanks for the attitude, and I had. So, I guess I'm hoping the poorly trained customer service girl can find a green phone in the trees at dusk tonight!

Had a great time on the Canyon Coaster. Good to know that big brother can still get down the hill faster than the youngest brother.

Looks fun, was told by a employee over the phone the hill was open, drove all the way there just to see nothing was open: (pretty sad. Website even said it was open. Gotta be better guys.

Customer service is terrible, not willing to accommodate a credit for a $250 ski pass to be used in the next season.
We got my daughter a multi day pass for her birthday gift and before she could pick it up she had broke her wrist coming off the chair lift at Canyon. She was not able to use her pass at all due to her injury.
We are now out the money and a birthday gift!
So frustrating! Nothing they could do for us
After this experience I would highly recommend not buying passes!

It was pretty slick when I went but it was a super fun time if you like to ride rails and go fast I don't believe you should go here as a beginner but don't let that turn you away from a fun time

Took Snowboard lessons with my daughter with Sarah she was such am awesome instructor that we came back and booked more. I had issues with online booking but was able to call in and the staff were so kind patient and helpful. Thank you for helping us get mountain ready!

Have taken the family twice this year. Staff is helpful if your a noobie to renting. Bunny hill was great with the magic carpet for my beginner kids.

The customer service of this place is so bad it's not even funny. Since they are the only hill in the area they act like they don't need to be respectful at all. I would highly recommend not to support them in any way

The kids and I had a great time skiing. Unfortunately, our time was cut short. I purchased 4hrs for the three us if plus tubing passes at 2pm. I was not informed that everything closed at 5 nor were there any hours posted anywhere! When I inquired about getting some compensation for paying for an extra hour that we couldn't use, the staff member didn't seem to care very much and I was told that there was nothing they could do. I feel that the hours should be posted at the ticket both to avoid customers feeling ripped off!

Tubing was fun. Super ridiculous that we printed tickets online and still have to wait in line using up one hour of our two hour time allotment. Best come an hour early to get your full tubing time in

So thanks to the valet parking today from Bob. (Ummmm I can't parallel park) Amazing day on the hill! Staff is incredible!

Good selection of runs. Lots of different freestyle options too. I do wish the staff would be a bit better about not allowing single people to take a chair all to themselves when it's busy, but that's hardly worth taking a star off for. All in all a great skiing experience for what it is.

Pretty frustrating when you go down a hill burning your energy and get told to wear a mask while trying to catch your breath. We are outside, even the alberta government rules states the following: Outdoor operations (applicable to all ski hills) :
Open-air chair lifts do not require physical distancing and can be used by people who are not part of the same household or cohort. Yet your forcing people to wear masks in a line up where we are more then a hip distance away? Disappointing.

2 stars because medic was nice and resort is great.

Took my wife and daughter there on Saturday. We had to rent equipment. Staff were quick and professional. Given how busy the hill was, It is impressive that they were able to keep it all moving smoothly.

We will be back, thank you.

For an Red deer ski hill it's pretty good The Food is a little expensive But the Mega Ramps Are great for Backflips and Other Tricks there is Multiple Terrain parks and unique runs I definitely recommend this too an amateur Skiier or snowboarder

Always liked the hill, and the upkeep, and equipment. Am disappointed with the disorganization. Have been many times and seems somebody power trips and screeches at you for something different every other time you go there. Did not know that you needed a pass to watch, did not know that you are required to pay an additional 10$ money grab, for a pass to help your kid up if they fall or need assistance on the magic carpet area.

I was here for opening day so they only had a couple runs open, but we had a great time! The place seems to be organized well and the small temporary terrain park they had set up was really fun. This is probably the best you can get without going to the mountains. And they allow ski bikes!

We had our wedding at Canyon on Oct 10th, and it was absolutely beautiful and perfect. The staff was so incredible, we had a couple things arise throughout the day and the staff without question did all they could to make sure everything stayed perfect. They were fun, flexible and accommodating through the entire experience! We had many concerns about having to reduce our numbers to fit the Covid restrictions, and we now would recommend a 50 person wedding to everyone getting married! We get the ability to say we really enjoyed our wedding day stress free, and we owe a lot of that to the great staff of canyon! We would recommend this venue to everyone!

We were married at Canyon Ski Hill on July 25th, 2020. It was the most perfect day! The Canyon staff was so incredible and FUN to work with. They truly helped our vision become reality. They were so flexible and understanding. We didn’t require a ton of decor because the venue is already so beautiful. The food is absolutely delicious, and they are super accommodating of allergies. The bar staff was super flexible, fun, and FAST, there was never a line up. They were accommodating to all our vendors and very helpful! We didn’t have to involve ourselves in setup or takedown, and we had zero stress. Canyon staff and our vendors did everything, and we were able to enjoy our wedding weekend. I could honestly go on and on! If you are looking for a place to say “I Do” - look no further! You will truly feel like royalty!

I've been involved with a few weddings at Canyon. It is a one of a kind venue! I was just there for a wedding this past Sunday. Robyn and staff did an excellent job! They observed safe service procedures and wore masks as they served guests from the buffet. The Bartender wore his mask at all times while making drinks.

Canyon is a beautiful place to get married! I love the chalet; the big windows up stairs, chandeliers, fireplaces.all made the look of our day lovely. We were married outside, photos done around the area, and reception inside. Stunning! Service was amazing, food.amazing!

Best wedding venue in central alberta

This sky resort hasn't changed in anyway in the last 20+ years. Everything is exactly the same. Nice place to sky/snowboard. I love the large windows that overlook the hills so you can see people sky/snowboard very well. Beautiful view. The food needs some work. The prices are fair. The only complaint that I have is the drive down to the resort. Good Lord! I have no idea how school buses get down that narrow, steep hill. Its a death trap waiting to happen. In the winter, driving down that ice hill almost gave me a heart attack. They really need to repair it. Make it bigger and less dangerous please.

It's spring (March) and it's messy/melty near the lift at the bottom and very muddy in many areas at the parking lot. They need gravel in the parking lot. They need to be able to give receipts at the bar. They need to fill in the slushly areas more or have little bridges at the bottom of the lift to go over the running water. They need to maintain the bathrooms better by adding additional soap dispensers and keeping an eye on it, (if a staff member of your the if no soap then she shot go get some right away.)

The person at the top of the ski lift was shavelling snow on the pathway when we needed to exit the lift. He didn't move in time and we all crashed into him. My child was in tears, she told me that she didn't want to go on any more chair lifts, it was just an accident but it didn't enhance our experience: (

All that being said, it is good for a family to go if you need to ski in Central Alberta. There are also some pluses like having a place for children/intermediate skiers to build up their skills. The snow was in good condition.

We got married here, and the staff were so lovely and helpful. There was a problem with the lodge not having any AC and as the sun set and shone into the dining room all evening everyone was roasting and quite uncomfortable, so definitely ask about whether this has been fixed before you book! Otherwise it was such a lovely venue and Kendra was so helpful and amazing with planning.

Runs are decent for a small hill with mostly machine made snow. The chalet is small and showing age. The triple chair is just plastic seating and metal so it gets cold easy.

Wicked staff and awesome snow! Love the place and I will be back any time I come to Red Deer. Great lounge and cafeteria. Good prices for tickets and lessons. Don't have to go to the mountains for the resort feeling here. Can't wait to return. Thanks for everything!

Considering this is the biggest ski hill in central Alberta, it is a massive disappointment. The food is overpriced, the staff only care about your money, the service is pathetic and the actual hill itself is a joke. Why the Alberta winter games are being hosted here is a mystery to me since it will be a huge let down. You’re better off burning your money than spending it here.

It's a hill, not a mountain, once your expectations are set it is a 5 star. People friendly, nice grooming, free wifi, decent price.

It was so fun, the guys who worked on the tubbing hill were very friendly, personable and fun. Prices are reasonable. It was a little crowded but the people who worked there helped with sharing the tubes and everyone cooperated. I am totally going back soon!

This is a gorgeous resort for weddings, events, and of course skiing! The surroundings make you feel like you are in the mountains, which I absolutely love! It is one of my favorite resorts in the summer.

Had a snowboard lesson with Joel. He was very patient and kind. He made me feel good about my progress after the lesson and I left the hill feeling proud of my accomplishments.

Great place to learn to Ski. Helpful, available staff for rental equipment. Ski Instructor was amazing. Helped us get the most out of our lesson and also our day. 2 kids who can’t wait to go back to Skiing! Thanks.

Great place to ski, feels like a small mountain resort if you don't look around at the top of the hill. Excellent rental selection, and staff is great. Ski school instructors did a great job with the kids.

When it comes to non mountain skiing this is about as good as it gets. They have been doing a lot of work to the hill the last few years so it is quite functional for learning to skiing, board or do tricks.

The staff here are full of energy and very friendly. Some runs became icy as it got later in the day, however the it is a great place to go for a day of skiing with features for all skill levels
